cried when I had to leave him unconscious on the enormous bed wearing a little gown and a nappy. Ok other than that, took my book to keep my mind off things during the wait. I am a relentlessly glass half full person, nothing bad will ever happen to me or mine, IYSWIM, which is a good thing and a bad thing. Would obviously be completely unable to cope if anything did!!

lol Spin, yes i see what I have done there. I clearly just absorb events as they happen and repackage them as minor or positive. Should bottle it I'd make a fortune don't you think?

Ceebee74 · 21/01/2009 12:43

Just checking in as I have been AWOL for a while

Bloss glad Toby was ok! It was hard enough when Josh needed an op at 8 weeks - but I can't imagine how upsetting it would be now!

Impy gorgeous photos - Ry looks so cute and like he is having a fab time. Your dress is just lovely and you look so pretty and happy Don't worry about Ry - he will just be settling back in and remember 'it is just a phase...'

Spin your days sound idyllic My days involve wrapping everyone up in about 4 layers just to get out of the house - takes forever!!!

Have been wondering about Flick too - have just checked her FB page and the last entry was 12 December...hope she is ok!

Everything ok here - Sam is a little angel who actually slept through on Sunday night (not repeated it since mind but we are getting there!) Josh, on the other hand, seems to be going through a 'phase' aswell! He has hurt Sam on several occasions (biting, scratching, throwing things into his cot etc) and his sleep seems to have gone pear-shaped aswell. But I am trying to take each day as it comes and, as I said to Impy before, repeating to myself that it is just a phase and it is because his world has been turned upside down so am trying to give him lots of attention/cuddles etc - but it is so hard when he is being a little b**r and all I want to do is shout at him for hurting my other little angel iyswim!

skay · 21/01/2009 13:44

Can I just say HELLO

Do you remeber me?

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 21/01/2009 14:48

Hello Ladies

Not much to report apart from a few tantrums over the order in which I apply Mimi's creams, but otherwise...

Skay, the name is familiar but you'll have to remind me...

CB, have been wondering where you were. You and me have a secret eh??
Great that Sam is sleeping well, long may it continue. And 'It's just a phase' is my mantra, Josh will soon adore his baby brother again.

HC, how you doing?

Bloss, glad the op went well, brave little Tobes. And brave Mummy too.

FYI: Flick's last post on here was 2nd Jan, and she said her NY resolution was to post more regularly... Well, that lasted!
No, really, Flick, hope you are ok.
In fact, skay, is that you ?? naaah...

Spin, your weather and daily life sounds just dreamy. My VBF is just back from a holiday in Oz, and she is totally gutted to be back here, weatherwise, workwise, peoplewise... She had the time of her life, despite driving through floods on the way to Uluru. Never got there as the roads were busted.
What a hero Chi's little friend is. Bet he's chuffed!! I know what you mean about him going to school though. I can't bear the thought of Joey going, and I'm not even home all day with him...
LOL at 'the sun is looking at me!'

Impy, fantastic photos, you look fabulous and soooo happy!

Pixel, sorry to hear about FIL, hope all is ok.

Ok better go.

ImpyChica · 21/01/2009 21:21

Hi all

Thanks for your lovely comments about the photos darlings - v sweet!

Glad Tobes is ok Bloss, bless you with the image of him on a big bed in a hospital gown... poor lamb. Just horrible when kids have to be operated on. And I feel for you Spin - for Roshi's future op...

Hi Skay - your name does ring a bell!

Sorry Josh is having issues with Sam, CB. That must be a nightmare - but a completely natural stage. I feel guilty enough about Ry biting kids at the nursery who I hardly know (he did it AGAIN today...) but if it was my newest baby he was biting I'd be like an overprotective tiger! But yes, you need to give him attention, cos that's what it's all about. Good luck and hugs! Try and stay calm! Over-compliment good behaviour etc...

Calling Flick!!!!

Hi Annie, HC, Kbaby, Algach, etc, etc...

Impy xxx

HumphreysCorner · 22/01/2009 10:06

Hi all

skay-I remember you but you changed your name didn't you? What was it before skay then it might help us remember. Welcome back though.

Bloss-you are a stronger woman than me. Respect! Hope Tobes is doing just fine.

Impy-how's married life? I saw you photos on Facebook, so lovely.

Annie-I'm fine thankyou, had a blip yesterday but OK today it would seem.

Still having issues with Emma as she doesn't want to be big sister, she wants to be a baby like Sophie so mummy can carry her about and talk in a baby way to her. So touchy if I tell her off and not Sophie. Think this may be related to the reluctance to go to school which incidently is better this week. Dressed her this morning to make her feel like Sophie but at 5 1/2 she should dress herself like she normally does. So difficult to get the balance right and I feel for you Ceebee.

Big wave to everyone and we will have to send a search party out for flick.

Hello to all,

I used to be sunita123.

I had a little girl - Kavya - July 22nd.

Sorry I have'nt posted for AGES. Have been a bit busy.

After having my little darling I decided to make some dresses for her.
I am not a dressmaker so this was a real challenge for me. Then madam started to talk, and she point blank refused to wear what I'd made for her.

Kavya has just started pre-school. She does two mornings a week Tuesday and Thursday (2nd Week). She's not happy, I had to leave her screaming with a member of staff. She wants to go, but doesn't want mummy to leave her.

HC - Still buying stuff on e-bay. I thought you'd have given up by now.

Bloss - How is Toby after his operation?
Will he have to have any more?

Will post more later. (don't want to loose this post too)

Hello to all,

Spinspin - You do remember me! (Well at least one of you does! Am starting to think no-one wants to talk to me anymore. ) BTW can you send some sun over this way please. Tis wet and horrible this morning.

I think I forgot to mention that Kavya is recovering from Chicken-pox - She is still very sore around the nappy area. Had to whip her nappy away last week so that her spots/scabs could get some air. Put her in trainer pants, but she's just not got the feel for toilet training. Can any of you suggest anything? Have any of you managed to get your LO's potty/toilet trained?

Hopefully you have forgiven me.

Suni XX

HumphreysCorner · 23/01/2009 16:23

I remember you skay. Sophie just not ready for potty training yet so am waiting.

Hope all OK and have a good weekend! Bitterly cold here.

Love to all.

Hello all (I remember you skay, I used to be maewest , good to hear from you )

Have a snoozin babe on my arm so apols for erratic typing. All going fairly well, altho a bit tired. DD is actually sdleeping pretty well fora newborn, tends to feed at 11pm, 3am and then thro to 6/7amish. Hoping she dosen't take after her brother in the sleep stakes. HV came round ysterday, has a bee in her bonnet about sleep and self settling, afraid I just said hmm and looked a bit vague. Conceealed my lentil weavery tendencies as they get a bit antsy about that stuff. BF going well, but loads of puke .

DS is cutie, walking loads, have had a few buggy free outings and I'm amazed by his stamina. Last week he insisted that I make a sling for his dolly when we went out for a walk (to be like mummy) A bit of sib rivalry is kicking in, but mostly he is lovey towards his little sis. Who is a whole month old!

SOrryy for me me post, will try and keep up a bit better in future...

aGalChangedHerName · 24/01/2009 09:10

Morning all!!!

Not posted for a while (as usual) apologies x

Impy you all look so relaxed and your dress is beautiful. You obv had a great day.

Skay i remember you. Poor kavya having the pox So what have you been up to?

Rhinestone i never mentioned to my HV that i was feeding both dd's for a while. Wasn't worth the aggro tbh. Glad you are enjoying new dd.

HC i had planned to get Eilidh out of nappied over the xmas break but she was so not ready. Dd1 was really easy and i did her over the xmas break 2 yrs ago. I will poss wait till the April break unless she manages befor then.

Bloss glad you got through Tobys op ok.Ds1 had a big op when he was around 9 to repair a blocked ureter which was damaging his kidney. He had a catheter for urine, and epidural in his back for pain relief, drips in both hands for morphine and fluids and a wound drain in the op site. The nurse couldn't understand why i was slightly hysterical when he was brought back It was sooo awful but thankfully it did work and he is fine now.

Eilidh and Niamh get on well most of the time. When i drop Niamh at nursery she always gives Eilidh a cuddle and says bye darling, makes the other mums tear up lol. Niamh is going through a horrible phase atm, being a madam and toilet humor (bums poos and willys etc) which does my head in grrrr. Apart from that.......

Ds2 will be making his 3rd year subject choices in March iirc.

Ds1 left school (couldn't hack school anymore ) and is working at the supermarket saving up money for his hols and saving for a car etc. Sitting his test again next week so positive vibes for him please girls?? He is hoping to do a HNC in computing at college with a view to getting into Uni at 2nd or 3rd year entry level so he seems to be finding some direction thank god lol.

Had my Mirena coil fitted at the FPC on Monday last week. Was bit ouch but bearable. Have had cramps but no worse than usual so crossing my fingers it helps.

Better stop now or you will all be bored stiff.

Hi to SSS your Roshi is super cute btw. Just like her big bro xx

Have a good weekend all xx

Ceebee74 · 24/01/2009 13:22

Hi all

Rhinestone a whole month already - wow, where does the time go??

Skay I remember you aswell! Josh has got chicken pox at the moment - he started yesterday and his lovely little face is covered.. am guessing it is only a matter of time before Sam gets them too! Also, no potty training here either - Josh is just showing no signs/interest whatsoever so I am happy at the moment to leave it. I will try sometime in the Spring I think - the aim is to get him trained by the time I go back to work in September

Agalch will send loads of positive vibes to your DS1 for his driving test!

Not much going on here apart from the pox - Sam is sleeping through pretty consistently now. He does a 9-hour stretch every night so it is dependent on when I can get his last feed in the evening as to what time he wakes up. Unfortunately Josh is ruining this by getting up several times a night!

Am also trying Josh with a reward chart to stop him hurting Sam...this is the second day and so far so good. He has actually been really lovely towards Sam since we started it...so much that I actually dared put Sam on his baby gym this morning and Josh laid underneath it with him showing him all the animals etc - twas a lovely moment!

Anyway, will stop waffling - hope you are all having good weekends

(Still no sign of Flick then!)

skay · 24/01/2009 20:06

Hello to all,

Nice to hear that most of you still remember me.

Aglach - Didn't realise that was you until I read the post several times. Good to hear from you. How are you feeling now that you have had the Mirena Coil fitted?
Had mine fitted this time last year. Now I'm not sure that I made the right decision. It beats having to take the pill everyday though. So not sure wether to have it removed or or to stick with it.
Good luck to DS1 for his driving test.

Maewest - Another Baby for you then. How old is your DD?

Got to go. I need to stand over DS while he goes to bed. He is now 6 so feel that he should know better. Maybe you ladies could help? here.

Thanks

Skay

HumphreysCorner · 24/01/2009 20:46

skay-my two Emma 5 1/2 and Sophie go to bed 7pm at the very latest and sometimes they go up at 6-30pm as they are so tired. Dreading the day they ask to stay up later and disturb my TV, MN and Facebook. Good luck to you!

Hope all OK!

Skay i am fine now. Had really awful aching and cramps for 5 or so days after but apart from that twas fine. What is it that you don't like about it? Do you still have AF?

Will read your thread in a bit and post tomorrow.

My 2 are 4.6 and 2.6 and go up around 6.30/7pm,sometimes earlier if if they are doing my head in Sometimes go to sleep very quickly and sometimes need a trip up to tell them off.

TheGoddessBlossom · 26/01/2009 07:53

6.30pm 7pm here, no later. Hi Skay! TBH i'm not far behind them these days, esepcially when, like this mornng, T wakes at 5am. Mind you can't blame him this particular morning as DH put hm to bed last night with no nappy pants on, and he/his pjamas/bed clothes and mattress were soaked through, poor thing. Shows how often DH puts T to bed

Good weekend, still dry. Yawn. H had a play date on Sat avo, the first on his own where I left him there, it was a friend of his from nursery. The mother originally asked if he could stay the night, and I was like, er, I've never met you/you're family/been to your hose before in my life, why on earth do you think I would give you my precious boy for a whole night??!! Was a bit more tactful than that. But it was great, DH had T and I swanned off to have a coffee with a friend and do a bit of shopping, fabulous.

Then took boys to see Alice in Wonderland in panto at our local village hall yesterday afternoon. It was 3 hours long, and H didn't take his eye off the stage for the whole time, he was completely mesmerised and EXHAUSTED by the time we got back. T was pretty good too, watched and played and danced. Amazing, there attention span was better than their grandparents'!

Was lying in bed last night and suddenly had a major crying fit over my mum. Haven't grieved for who she used to be at all since her decline began and I think that was the start of my tears. Think I@ve been in denial a bit, and then was watching that Julie Walters thing last night and although completely different it still showed grown up children dealing with the loss of their mum and although she is still here in body, it is getting harder and harder to communicate with her. I watch her completely blank face while I am telling her a story or something, and it's clear she hasn't either listened or understsood as she never responds or reacts in the right places. We had been banging on about having bought the panto tickets weeks before, and she walked straight in and bought more. She paid for smarties and drinks at the bar for everyone and left it all there, came back to her seat without any of it. She took T to the toilet and he came back covered in wee where she hadn't helped him. It must be so hard for my dad to live with. I really miss my mum.

Anyway, sorry to depress you all on a Monday morning! I do find it useful to offload on here.

Bloss

xx

HumphreysCorner · 26/01/2009 09:53

Morning all

Bloss, big hugs to you. I forgot to watch that last night. {{xx}}

Well, as suspected my GHD straighteners are fakes so now the battle to get my money back.

Anyway, time to confess that I got a BFP last week but still freaking out as I don't feel PG like with the last 2. Fingers crossed for me eh?

Big Wave!

HC

TheGoddessBlossom · 26/01/2009 09:56

omigod HC - fingers crossed!!! How exciting!!

HumphreysCorner · 26/01/2009 09:59

Thanks Bloss.

AnnieAreYouOkAreYouOkAnnie · 26/01/2009 10:58

HC!! I've had everything crossed for you all along
Remember every PG is different.
about them straighteners.

Bloss, big HUGE hug for you and your mum, it must be very hard for you.
Well done with the dryness you hero!
I've been crap at it, but we're going to try and have this week off now. (nobody hold their breath now).

CB, how's the pox? Has Sam got it too? Poor Josh, and poor you.

Skay, don't get me started on bedtimes. It is improving though. We aim for 8pm, and it's a surprise if we're sitting down with a glass of wine to dinner by 8.30. Lately both of them just want Daddy all the time for everything, so while I feel nobody loves me it's nice to get on with scrabble with HC dinner.

Spin, Happy Anniversary?! How is your DH's bulging vein?

We had a lot of tantrums over the weekend, mainly over spoons... depending on my mood whether I can cope, ie ignore and distract, or shout at them. The shouting is winning I'm afraid...

Filled in Joey's school application! A few scribbled out bits so DH is going to go and get another form today so I can do it tidier . Will this matter?! It has to be in by Friday. And he keeps changing his mind as to the second and third preferences... Give Me Strength.

Anyway girls. best go...
