UD Have you seen this?

this
hah this is you!

theSuburbanDryad · 10/09/2008 21:53

I can sort of see the theory behind it - that countries like you mention have high weaning ages but Western countries drag the average down - but for there to be a worldwide average of 4 it would have to be the norm to bf until age 7 or 8 (or older) which is isn't. In fact a lot of undeveloped countries have very low weaning ages thanks to dodgy marketing practices by companies like Nestle

Lizzzombie · 10/09/2008 21:55

If I wasn't so knackered I'd be looking into this more. But I'm shattered and off to bed!
I look like a panda at the moment....not in a good way!
x

Lizzzombie · 10/09/2008 21:56

ps - hope you ddn't think I was being rude by that post with the links. I just wasn't expecting to see a book which reminded me of you. Sorry if I offended. x

laughalot · 10/09/2008 22:06

Heeee urban no one is around so you can tell me the sex of the baby

eandh · 11/09/2008 14:46

Who fancies coming to mine, me and the girls are baking a banquet (Ellie's new favourite word )

So far we have made

Chicken & mushroom pie for their dinner (pastry may be slightly overworked as Ellie rolled it!)

Home made chilli burgers and home made rolls for DH & mine dinner (plus some wedges still to be made)

Lemon drizzle cake (our pudding)

Chocolate fairy cakes with buttercream icing (their pudding)

Choc chip cookies (for all of us to have later with a cup of tea/hot chocolate)

Ellie now flicking through her childrens bakery books and trying to decide between cheese scones and flapjacks!

Lizzzombie · 11/09/2008 15:37

Sounds fab!
I'm jealous! Chuck me a cookie x

theSuburbanDryad · 11/09/2008 15:44

If i had a car me and Z would be down there RIGHT NOW!!

eandh · 11/09/2008 16:34

well they ate all the pie so must have been okay and they tried a bit of lemon drizzle cakes and had chocolate cake each.

Now Hattie keeps going in kitchen and pointing at cookies saying 'yum yum'

Lizzzombie · 11/09/2008 17:45

Ugh, I'm supposed to be going out tonight (to Lewes) but the mate I am meeting there has decided to drive so won't be drinking. I am in DIRE NEED of a LARGE glass of wine or 3 and I hate drinking on my own. Plus, I am knackered and really cannot be arsed getting ready to go out. I look like sh*t today. Still have my work clothes on! Do you reckon I could work the navy blue polyester look if I put some more lipstick on?!
I really can't be bothered......zzzz.....

theSuburbanDryad · 11/09/2008 19:00

I have made goulash for tea!! Can't wait to eat it!

Lizzz - i think you should get changed and pop some slap on! Make the effort woman! Once you get going you'll enjoy it.

Reggiee · 11/09/2008 19:01

Gahhh - missed the feast! Sounds fab Eah. I have however just chucked my guts up and my throat is burning so the last thing I want is food. Boo.

Lizz how's DJ's sleeping this week? Go out and get lashed. Hope your mate gives you a lift home.
BTW am happy to talk tits. My boobs hardly changed during pg, whilst bf, and afterwards. But they have always pointed south and dangled by my knees. At least I have an excuse now.

UD meant to watch that programme but forgot. Give me a shout if you know if it's going to be repeated.

Vino sounds like you are busy as ever! Hope you're getting some Vino relaxation time .

Dragon really loved the pics, especially Rachel on the scales. Soooooo sweet .

Waves at MrsC. Long time no see.

Lal good digging for sex of UD's bubba . Didn't work though!

eandh · 11/09/2008 19:34

Oh
Reggie hope you feel better soon, do you think its a bug or something you ate (or are you pregnant????)

Feast was lovely I am stuffed and it was lovely to relax and eat as both E & H asleep by 6.15 (H had early nap today and E fell asleep on sofa at 6.15 )

We went to Drs about Ellies behaviour and Dr thinks it linked to her hearing (I suffered badly with hearing loss as a child) both her ears are full of wax and she failed the low-middle part of the impromptu hearing test Dr did, got drops and review in 3 weeks, it may mean day operation and gromets but if it helps then its for the best. Apparently its very common for bad behaviour to be linked to poor hearing (and doing a search on MN archives its popped up a few times) so hopefully wee may be on the way to resolving it

eandh · 11/09/2008 19:36

and reggie came up with good idea for secret santa that we try and get different people to last year so from memory

Vino had me!
Laughalot had Vino
Rgee had LTH
LTH had 2happy?

2Happy · 11/09/2008 20:01

Yes LTH had me, and I had Jodie (I wonder how she is

MRS C!!!!!!! how the hell are you??

Lizz - might just do that, get dh to mind the kids, considerably easier for him than paying for me to have a boob job/have another baby (which were my 2 suggestions for envelope-flap boobs)

Anybody watching the restaurant this time around?

eandh · 11/09/2008 20:20

Shimmer · 11/09/2008 23:18

I had ratfly. What happened to her?!? Actually now I come to think of it...wasn't she ratbunny for a while. She hasn't been on in ages, has she?

Lizzzombie · 12/09/2008 08:38

Morning!
Rgee - I hope you are feeling better this morning. What made you so ill?
Eah - Glad your banquet went well & that you are on the road to working out what is up with Ellies ears.
2Happy - Yeah - get some new underwear, you'll feel like a different woman when your boobs are back where they are supposed to be!

Well, I went out last night and had ONE glass of wine and a J20! Can't believe thats all I drank on my one night out for the month. Was good to catch up with my mate though. She is doing clohmid (sp) at the moment. I didn't realise you could only take it for 12 months. She is on month 10 already. So keeping my fingers crossed something happens for her soon.
When I got back 'd'P was slightly merry and said he'd had a glass of wine. Yeah, and monkies fly out of my arse. I found the empty bottle this morning. I know a mate popped round to talk ipods with him, so they probably only had half a bottle each, but still. Its p'ssd me off right and proper. Especially as he was out on Wednesday night anyway for 4 (5) pints.
Well.
I am going to an ABBA tribute night at the bandstand on the seafront on the 26th. Its for a neighbours birthday. So no driving involved. We are all glamming up, and I will be getting VERY DRUNK. Even if I do have work the next day!

Right. Play group is at 9.30am and I have a mate coming for lunch, and my house is upside down. Must dash folks, tally ho etc! x

ps - Shimmer - when you move to Lewes, we can meet up on the proviso that you'll drink more than J20 in the pub!
