I think blue too, but 8.4

Gosh LG&T, you are really so brave..all this time on your own.

I still haven't read the thread as my internet has decided not to work properly tonight.

So we spent 2 weeks at the beach, one week on my own with the dc and one with dh and some friends who now live in Uganda but we knew them from Tanzania. Their dc are 11 and 13 and were so sweet with ours, really playing their silly games (pirates and wounded leopards featured heavily). The girl though crowded poor little J, who really does like his own space. And fiddling with everything. And throwing himself in rock pools filled with spiky sea urchins. And pooing in the paddling pool. And generally being quite tedious. He has now decided monkeys are called Vavas and he can do a reasonable impression of a monkey as we were surrounded by them every morning. However he either had a nasty heat rash or a rather nasty reaction to his MMR. Plus a temperature and 4 new teeth. So all in all he wasn't exactly on his finest form. Still in time honoured tradition he ate a lot. Even prawn curry. The highlight of his trip was yesterday in a huge national park, on a game drive from 10am with a couple of stops, a small snooze of 40 mins and a random picnic lunch, at 2.30 he pulls the mother of all strops. He screamed so loudly he scared the herd of elephant away who were grazing peacefully nearby. Anyway the hotel in the national park on the way back was rather nice with a water hole where the animals could come to to drink right in front of the restaurant. Five hours back on dusty roads and finally we make it back to Nairobi, where it is still freezing. Send me some of your warmth, please.

My mum arrives from Greece early on Tuesday morning so that will keep the dc busy, I hope.

Now, who can give me one of those great synopsis of what's been happening the last few weeks????

AprilMeadow · 03/08/2008 20:33

Ok here we go (please forgive me if i forget something):

TYG has a beautiful baby boy.

MrsJB is now called CravingaQuietLife. Her pc has died and she has to type using an old keyboard linked to her wii. She is heading over to the UK on Wednesday in preparation for her sil's wedding and also for a big family/friends get together on Saturday in the New Forest.

Pink is back from her holidays and has put L in her own room we are very proud

JAM is looking for an outfit to wear to a wedding that will fit over her gorgeous bump

SOH i think has popped in

SKY is having her bubba TOMORROW woo hoo how exciting

AbbyLou is on school hols and has damaged her foot whilst at a friends wedding

MKG is getting a new car and is thinking that beany is a girl

lookatthelottie is having a clear out in preparation for moving house. Lottie also had a nasty bug incident last week that was scary but turned out to be ok

Elkiee has had some test results back and so far so good.

LG&T is back online and no doubt snaffling the goodies that her dh has brought back for her.

Charley was not feeling too good poor thing, but we hope she is feeling happier today x

Benson also popped in to say hello

me well a few bits here and there. Housey stuff, Ella had her MMR (so far all is ok), been to see Kylie and cooked a big dinner for all my family.

Ermmmmmmmm have i missed anyone/thing?

LookattheLottie · 03/08/2008 21:00

Evening.

Oh my gosh, TYG congratulations! Well done you. Another little boy, I know so many poeple who've just had wee baby boys, makes me so broody! Hope you're all well

Sky! Tomorrow! Seems like yesterday you announced your pregnancy! I hope the section goes well, rest as much as you can. I'll go with a girl, 7.8oz.

LG&T and TMAM welcome home lol. LG&T how are you 17 weeks already? Jees! It's going so quickly! TMAM I find C very tedious and hard work atm.

AM, sorry to hear you were a bit dissapointed with Kylie, I loved her as a little girl, but find her a bit hit and miss at times.

Jam have you had a look at the Next maternity wear? Doing some nice posh frocks, and not breaking the bank either. Or JoJo Maman Bebe and Isabella Oliver? New Look do a nice black dress for only £18.00 and Dotty P's are always quite reasonable.

Charley sorry to hear you are down, hope you feel better soon x

I'm shattered! C is like a little spinning top, she literally doesn't stop. She's the kid everybody at play group hates, I'm sure of it. The nice way people put it is 'oh, she's spirited isn't she?' which is basically code for holy crap, doesn't your child ever stop, and does she insist on having to have the toy that every other child is playing with? Most of the kids up here that I know are a bit, blob like. That must sound awful, I just mean that they're happy to sit down and amuse themselves with a toy. C has to run around crazily, every inch of a room and inspect it all, take every toy off of every child, gob on it and throw it away, stand on everyone/thing etc. She's got too much energy, it's no flippin wonder she's going to bed so early every night lol. She's like Taz, she leaves a mass path of destruction wherever she goes, you should see the state of my living room atm!

Suppose I should go and tidy up!

LookattheLottie · 03/08/2008 21:04

Oh and C's MMR is on Tuesday, should I be worried or have most babies been ok with it?

AprilMeadow · 03/08/2008 21:11

LATL, I know what you mean by hit and miss. It was a very good show with a good mix of old, older and new but i only like 3 songs off her new album and she has released them all. Wouldnt rush to see her again, unless she did a greatest hits tour.

Ella is also very much into everything but will sit down and play for long enough to allow me to have a cuppa. Jack on the other hand sounds very much like L.

E had her jab last week and was fine, bit quiet and cuddly/sleepy during the afternoon but perked up about tea time. Just make sure you have calpol to hand. Also she may come out in a pin prick type rash 10-21 days afterwards, its ok, its just her body building antibodies.

AbbyLou · 03/08/2008 21:23

Hello all.
TYG your birth story was beautiful, well done you!
Sky, all the best for tomorrow. Can't wait for news I am going for girl, 6.12.
When R had her mmr she was fine until 12 days later when she had a nasty rash which they said could have been the mmr but no-one was really sure.
I am taking her to the clinic tomorrow to ask the hv about her skin. She has nasty patches of excema on her back and it's really starting to annoy her. She lays on her back scratching her back on the floor like Baloo from Jungle Book. They gave me something at the walk-in but it says don't put it on open wounds and sometimes when she's scratched it a lot it is open.
Not a lot happening here. R is still taking a few steps each day but still not really walking. I wish she would hurry up, she weighs a ton.

AbbyLou · 03/08/2008 21:32

Just added a couple of new piccies of my monkeys in the garden.

fourlittlefeet · 03/08/2008 21:46

Congratulations TYG!! Inspirational (fingers crossed and desperately hoping for something calmer this time. I WILL listen to the affirmations more)

AprilMeadow · 03/08/2008 22:37

Gorgeous pictures Abby! your dc's are real cuties

LookattheLottie · 04/08/2008 00:56

AM I find that there are usually 3 or so songs on each Kylie album, then I find the rest are crappy iykwim? It's annoying because she's capable of doing good pop songs, but she just can't hold it for an entire album. I don't buy her cds anymore because of this, I just download the songs I like!

Abby what gorgeous children you have! C and R look so like each other as well! I have a friend who's dd (her names Ruby too lol!) has skin problems, it dries out a lot and becomes very sore for the poor mite. My friend was prescribed some sort of medication to put in the bath by the doctors, and it's helped loads. Might be worth an ask perhaps?

The baby boy accross from me turned one today. The same wee boy who lost his dad 3 months after he was born whilst on holiday. Poor guy drowned in the sea trying to help some kids out of the water. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have beeen for my neighbour today. This time last year I was speaking to him whilst dropping off a gift for the baby. 3 months later, he's gone. Life doesn't make any sense sometimes. I have to go and drop of pressies tomorrow for W, I kept away today as there was loads of people over for a party. Certainly makes you realise what you've got.

Must go to bed......

AbbyLou · 04/08/2008 08:43

LATL what a sad story about the little boy near you. It must have been a bittersweet day for his family. So sad that he will never know his daddy.
It's really interesting that you think C and R look alike - no-one has ever said that before! C is the spitting image of his dad and R looks just like me so I'm glad someone thinks they look like brother and sister. There colouring is totally different though. C is very, very pale and R had lovely skin which has gone so brown in the sun.

Lupins71 · 04/08/2008 09:04

LL A is a little whirlwind as well, W would have been happy to sit but not A oh no!! How awful for that family

ABBY what cuties they are

Had to call NHS direct 1st thing this morning, Arlen dark a whole plug in air freshener - you would think just putting it in his mouth would be enough - but nooooo he has to eat the lot, anyway they said its fine, he is now crawling round freshening te house - just as well as mums dog wreaks again!!

I am now on my mission to lose 23lb!!! I must must must get back into some reasonable clothes, I could get away with 10lb but really want to look fab again - pre all babies, I am armed with my patches, my zotrim, another fat metaboliser - amd a shed load of will power, luckily this last pg affected my chocolate addiction and it hasnt quite returned yet so hopefully I can get a head start

Good luck SKY look forward to some news

AM sorry to hear Mad wasnt super - did she look fab for a bit dated??

AprilMeadow · 04/08/2008 10:18

Blimey Lups we wont recognise once you are super skinny LOL at A eating the air freshener.

Abby i thought they looked very similar as well. We have the same with J&E. J is very like dh and E is very like me but they both look like each other..... very weird.

LATL i know what you mean!

SKY i hope you arent kept waiting too long to meet your little bundle today. Cant wait for an update from either LG&T or Pink

largeginandtonic · 04/08/2008 10:45

Have been up all night with vomming Hugo, deep joy. I expect it will sweep round the rest of them now.

B supposed to have his MMR today and Hugs his pre school jabs. Need to pick up dd's new glasses too. Life is so fecking compicated.

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 04/08/2008 11:03

Bloody Hell LG&T its never quiet in your house! I hope Hugs recovers quickly and that it doesnt spread. Hope that B does ok with his MMR.

largeginandtonic · 04/08/2008 11:14

Have cancelled the jab appointments, can't take H out as he is contagoius and still looks dreadful. If B goes down with the bug don't want him dealing with that and the MMR reaction.

Hpe to get dd her glasses as i should be able to park outside and leave them in the car. H asleep so that will have to wait till later though.

It is never dull!

Have texted Sky, heard nothing yet!

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 04/08/2008 11:23

Ah yes good point!

SKYTVADDICT · 04/08/2008 12:20

Booked in for 2pm - forgot to tell you that bit!

Bored now and walking round the hospital and found a PC!

Haven't had chance to catch up but had to laugh at Abbylou's prediction of 6lb 4oz!! Was that a typo?

I am predicting girl but at about 8lb 10oz or more. M/w said this morning feels quite big!

DP just eating behind me in cafe - I can't eat anything apparently. Heard lots of moans and groans coming from the other rooms but hoping none of them turn into emergencies and put off my 2pm appointment!

LG&T, DP has instructions to txt as soon as he can

Bye for now

largeginandtonic · 04/08/2008 12:49

Gah!!!

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 04/08/2008 12:51

LG&T poor you in the house of sick.

GAH someone has put a photo of me on FB from Sat bleugh.

THEMASTER lovely to have you back I too fear a tedious holiday of chasing my monster adorable child round the pool.

MKG · 04/08/2008 13:07

Good luck Sky!

Well I get to pick up Mateo today and we are all sick. Last night a nasty cold hit us (and of course I can't take anything). I just want to sleep more.
I think I'm going to tell my mom and sister I'm pregnant today as they will be together, but then again I might chicken out. Oh well.

charleymouse · 04/08/2008 13:13

ED thanks the gloom is lifting, how are you? Glad the test results were good for you.

SKY thanks, fingers crossed for you today I am betting pink 7lb on the nose. Any news during the time it has taken me to write this post? Ooh only an hour to go. May increase my estimate and opt for a blue 9lber, just covering all bases here.

Lups thanks it is an awful feeling isn't it, I know it will get better over time it just creeps up and smacks you sometimes. Hope your Mam lets you on the laptop suggest she takes her whiffy dog out for its exercise. Maybe Arlen was hoping your Mums dog would copy him with the plug in. Have you lost some weight? Good luck with your mission.

AM cheers sorry Kylie was a disappointment. Love your latest pics of the DCs, how are they settling into the new house?

12YG your birth story sounds wonderful, home births are so nice, DD was chilled and relaxed and the MWs attributed it to the relaxed way of being brought into the world on a positive note this continued until 2.5 years and now we are positively stroppy Keep checking the profile for pics hint hint.

Mrs JB CAQL Thank you hope you are having a lovely trip to blighty.

JIMW will check out some outfits for you. You could always just go topless, these skinny young things tend not to have breasts as far as I am concerned. Maybe a little OTT for a wedding though.

LGT hope you get your apt through soon, we need it confirming there will be a pink one on the way if only for Ps sanity. [Grin] Oh no with the vomiting. G had projectile at 2:30 am on Saturday, I had just got us both showered whilst DH cleaned up the bedroom when he did a repeat performance cue another shower and me and him sleeping on the floor as did not want to risk it on the new bed. Gross proper chunks and everything, I don't really do sick. Just another quiet day for you then LGT?

TMAM your holiday sounds lovely, do you need me to send you an electric blanket?

LATL feeling a bit better thanks, just think the other parents are prob just jealous as they have sacks of potatoes for children whereas yours is bright as a button and inquisitive is a sure sign of intelligence. G has not had his MMR yet as DD had hers around the 18 month mark so G will be similar, I just feel a bit strange about him having the same dose of vaccination as a larger baby so will wait until he is a little bigger.

AL hope the HV has got something for her skin, it is a nightmare, I have a couple pf patches of itchy skin and it drives me mad. I really feel for her. Those ice lollies look really tasty your DCs are so cute.

Hi PJ hope the sleeping is going okay, we have probably errored as we have currently got both DC in with us. I may be coming to you for some tips.

MKG have you had your bloods back yet?

Hope you had a nice time at the festival Benson.

Scoot hope the kids are feeling better and you managed to avoid all the holiday with the ILs

Hi Befnal, Showofhands Tillysmum and eveyone else I have missed.

Anyway I have discovered why I have been so hormonal and feeling like crap last week. DH even commented I had been a bitch to the kids which is very rare. I usually take it out on him, very rarely the DCs. I bought a pregnancy test kit on Friday and did it Saturday am as thought the cramps and strange feeling in my CS scar area could only indicate one thing. Was a BFN by the way. AF arrived this morning I had completely forgotten about having them. I have been hormonal having hot flushes, cramps and bloating and never even considered AF, I even considered an early menopause. DOH. How dopey am I. Had to go to the chemist on the way to work as had nothing with me at the new house. Well it is not something you need when it hasn't been here for almost 2 years. Oh well, a good thing I also bought some slippery thingumy covers whilst in the chemist on Friday. DH looked most disgruntled even when I pointed out I had been the responsible one for 20 years and it was now his turn. I am not having him turn round and say it is my fault if we get caught again. Personally I wouldn't mind but he says he wants NO more. Let's see how careful he is now then. He can't be that bothered though as we have not taken any precautions since the boys were born. I still can't believe how daft I am. I have had all the signs of PMT and never associated them with it. Probably because I have never really suffered with it before so that is my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Had a lovely night last week took DH to center parcs for a twilight spa session for his birthday Hee Hee. Twas a little late as G had the pox on his birthday but SIL picked the kids up from nursery and babysat whilst we chilled out then went for a meal afterwards. Yummy. Had nearly got divorced the week of his birthday though as told him it was all arranged but would have to postpone due to G. I didn't get him anything to open on the day so he was mightily disgruntled. To top it all his dad didn't either. Cue blazing rows all round and he is still not talking to his dad. His dad has not bought him a b'day pressy since his Mum died and obviously on his birthday he thinks about his Mum. Not sure how this will pan out as we now live next door to him. .

On a positive note it looks like work have found me a new job I just have to apply for it and hope no-one else in my dept wants it. I don't think they do but people are holding their cards close to there chest. I want to go part time and my line manager has agreed I can but if I do not get the job they can in theory give me redundancy on part time salary. Think I will have to stay fulltime for the time being and see if I get the new job, if I do ask there about part time working. Interviews are early September so should all be sorted fairly soon anyway.

I get my kitchen worktops fitted tomorrow so hopefully can get the hob put in and the sink connected later this week. Hurrah. I have become too familiar with the local takeaways whilst we have had no facilities. Having the oven connected for the last week has seemed like such a luxury.

Can you tell I am back at work today

elkiedee · 04/08/2008 13:24

Sky, hope the CS all goes well.

Good luck with work Charleymouse.
