AbbyLou · 27/08/2008 21:27

I am doing Maths planning - it is sooo tedious!

AprilMeadow · 27/08/2008 21:49

Ok i will let you off but what about the rest of you ladies?

Themasterandmargaritas · 27/08/2008 22:02

I am here! I have been out on the lash with some girlfriends (actually we went for a Sushi) then one friend and I went to a bar, on our own and got chatted up. God I must get out a bit more...

MKG · 27/08/2008 22:03

I don't know I think everyone is on vacation.

Not me I just came from the doctor with both boys. Normally I take one at a time, today I took both because Cruz needed his 15 month check and Mateo his 3 year check. It was terrible.

First let me say, nothing has gone right today, and Mateo has not listened to a single thing.

But I digress. My appointment was for 3pm. It was fine. Up to a point. After a half an hour of waiting for the doctor to finish asking her stupid questions example:

Doctor: Does Cruz point to things he wants?
Me: No, he gets up an gets it himself.
Her: So he doesn't point at things.
Me: I just said no.

or

Doctor: what words does he know
Me : none he doesn't talk yet
Doctor: He doesn't say anything at all.
Me: No, but I'm not worried, he's more interested in moving around for things than talking.
Doctor: Was his hearing checked as a baby.
Me: Yes. He hears everything we say to him, and responds to his name, he just doesn't want to talk yet.
Doctor: Well if he doesn't start in the next two months bring him back.
Me: No, he's fine. I'll bring him in when I start to worry about it.

I hate the fact that it is now 5pm and I'm just getting home. the doctor's office is 5 min away from my house. they are so slow. I had to wait 20 minutes for them to get Cruz's MMR shot ready.

So at 5pm I've thrown them both in bed, so I can have a minute of peace.

Good luck with the fun job that is emptying a house! E is only a 4.5 g so not much different to G's.

On a mamouth clean up mission as dh has a friend coming to stay tomorrow and i need to look totally spick and span.

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 09:17

Congrats AM - probably a subject we should steer clear from during our weekend after 10 years in HR.

MKG - they're always looking for bloody problems. Well done, you for standing your ground. And, do you say, 'Enough already'?

Hi CM - nice to see you!

cravingaquietlife · 28/08/2008 10:56

Looks great AM; have you had it like that before?

3 gone, 4 to go. ONLY 11 of us here now.

I think I may get the award for bad Mummy yesterday. Jorja fell 2 meters down, off a slide/climbing frame thingy. Lots of kids playing on it and lots of Mums stood close to. She was right next to me one minute eating a mini milk the next I heard her cry and see a guy pick her up off the floor. I calmly walked over to her to take her and then got hurled some abuse in French for not watching her. I rushed her away quickly as quite frankly I was more interested in the large graze around her eye than some guy whining at me. It was only after I whisked her to the very cold river to use the water on her face that I discovered he had told my friend she had fallen off the top. (she could climb everest that girl) PJ you'd have fainted I'm sure, cause even my hard heart skipped a beat. Thank god, she is fine though, she was very lucky "if" she did fall from it. Just a graze from the rubber matting round her eye and a slight shinner. Of course I felt terrible, but just shows how easy it is to loose sight of one out of three and what can happen in just a few moments.

Harrison and Maddie back to school on Tuesday , what a shame, the hols have gone so fast.

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 10:57

I may faint on your behalf.

Glad she's OK.

AprilMeadow · 28/08/2008 11:15

Poor little mite. They get everywhere, definately need eyes everywhere not jsut in your arse head.

I was darker about a year ago but not this shade. This has nicer tones in it. Also the fringe was only 6mths old, just couldnt bear it any longer

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/08/2008 12:20

Blardy children, why don't they learn to sit still and shut up.

Must've been a bad one MrsJB for you to react like that. Pink I guess you would still be sitting in A&E?

Personally I like to fob off my children with whomever is around. Elizabeth took J to his playgroup today, all very colonial, all the ayahs dressed in their blue check gingham dresses pandering to the whims of 10 kids under 2.5. The other two went off to art camp. I went shopping. Ahhhh this is the life...

Actually I was very pleased with myself cos I found a second hand bookshop and got dd some books for next to nothing - Milly Molly Mandy (gosh life was just so lovely and wholesome in the 50's wasn't it?) and Ramona, which is slightly americanised but given our global village attitude I suppose she ought to understand some of what these americans are saying eh MKG??

Today is my wedding anniversary and 2 years ago the monster baby was created.

Forgot to say well done April on the studying.

Themasterandmargaritas · 28/08/2008 12:23

Oh and roll on tuesday. I am with you MrsJB. Only I will have to get up at 6.15, which I am not looking forward to.

MKG · 28/08/2008 12:28

Yes Master, all children must be skilled in translating American English to whatever it is you all speak (some crazy version of the English language)

cravingaquietlife · 28/08/2008 12:45

You know A&E actually ran through my mind.....
She could still walk straight and talk OK and didn't whine when I moved/poked/prodded various bady parts so I decided that A&E could wait.

Bensonbluebird · 28/08/2008 13:58

I'm just waiting for A to have a big fall at the playground. It's going to happen sooner or later, just hope it's not from right at top.

I nearly had to have an emergency re-style last night. It was bath time, we were all tired and I was making the boys laugh by sticking combs in my hair and making faces and I got a comb so tangled that it took DP about 1/2hr to get it out. He had to cut all the teeth off the comb with a pair of pliers. By the time he had finished there was a lot of hair on the floor. luckily I have a free form kind of hairstyle and have lots left though so it doesn't show. How stupid am I? What would I have done if I was on my own?

cravingaquietlife · 28/08/2008 14:18

You'd have worn a hat for a while BB. LOL at the pliers though. Nice to "see" you. Hoping J has learnt her lesson and will not be climbing so much now.

AM Did you get a reply from the non gin & only tonic lady? Hope all is OK.

Fark....you are gonna hate me I know, but it's HOT here today! just came in from the pool for a cool down.

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 14:23

Why isn't there an emotion for sticking your tongue out at someone??

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 14:24

April?

Do I have to buy a special pillow for L? Can I just buy a normal one?

AprilMeadow · 28/08/2008 14:54

BBB do you remember my incident with a hairbrush a few months back.... i had to cut hair! Not funny at the time but i can just about laugh about it now (only bacause the hair has now grown back)

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 14:55

April. Answer my question.

LG&T sent me a msg earlier but it was blank.

AprilMeadow · 28/08/2008 14:55

No response from Ma Larkin as yet although i did see her log in to MSN last night.

I bough E cot pillow/toddler pillown to start with. J is now on proper pillows but he is 3.

AprilMeadow · 28/08/2008 14:56

I got E's from Mothercare

Pinkjenny · 28/08/2008 14:59

OK, will look now. Every time I put L to bed (albeit briefly...) and see h er lying there, in her little empty cot, I think of Ella, with her coverlet and pillow, and sob a little for L.

OK, maybe a tad dramatic, but you know what I mean.

AprilMeadow · 28/08/2008 15:01

TBH if she was my 1st she would probably still be in her grobag, its only because she likes getting under jack's duvet that i got her one
