should I go on that thread and mention the highchair toy of my nephew's that I suctioned to my forehead to pretend I was a dalek and ended up with a 3cm diameter giant love bite bruise on my forehead that took over a week to disappear and was pretty painful and swollen for a day or two.

ROFL Daisy

LackaDAISYcal · 11/08/2008 22:29

I didn't offer that one; rather the two fanjo injuries I sustained thanks to a pair of cycling shorts with nasty raised seams in inappropriate places. "designed by a woman for women" my arse!...well my fanjo actually

Am off to bed. Pregnancy insomnia has kicked in big time so I need as much sleep before midnight as possible. I also have fecking horrible nasty heartburn which even makes my teeth ache. Have been chomping on gaviscon tablets all bloody day to no avail and drinking or eating anything hot is just soooooooo painful.

And to think I have another 11 weeks of this.

Morning all. Been up half the night with "the trots" Feel awful this morning. Will be sending jamlet off to nursery shortly, ringing in sick, then back to bed. Back later.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 12/08/2008 09:05

Morning all!

Have been a lurky lurker for a while, I never seem to get the time to post anymore! Hope everyone is well.

Daisy, hope you got some sleep and jammy, hope the tummy is better x

I have got my place on the NCT bfc course! Hurrah! I start sept 6th! I'm v excited!

Does anyone else's dc look like they have been a victim of child cruelty? My ds has two massive bruises on his face and a great big cut on his lip. I'm going into town in a min with my mum and I'm scared someone is going to report me to SS!

Any news on the meet up? I have my driving test on tues (shitting myself), so hopefully I'll be driving up!

Hope everyone has a good day xxx

LackaDAISYcal · 12/08/2008 09:10

jammy. Have a good sleep and I hope you are feeling better soon.

DD slept until nearly eight this morning so I've had a nice lie in. DS was up at 6:30 so I sent him downstairs to watch the Olympics. It has really caught his imagination for some reason; probably due to Tom Daley and the swimming and he is now avidly watching all sports.

He has had his first tantrum of the morning now though and has been sent to the step. All because I asked him to clean up the building blocks that are scattered all over the floor. I can't take another day lke yesterday, but have no idea how to deal with him without losing the rag myself and more than a little

And it's pissing down so we are stuck indoors again today.

hey holly

DD has got a black eye this morning. She fell on one of the stick out ends of the clothes airer yesterday and had a bit of a bruise and then this morning she has thumped it again on one of her toys and it has swollen up nicely. This is on top of two bruises on her cheek from the weekend. I'm frightened to take her out, lol!

Good Luck with the driving test.

Oh, it just gets better in the Daisy houselhold. DS's behaviour is getting totally out of control and I don't know what to do with him. DD had climbed up on the sofa earlier and eas standing on the edge, begging for some of his cheese and crackers. He was trying to fend her off, and shived her with all his might. She fell backwards and her head ricocheted off the floor. I scooped her up and he was all "I'm sorry, I'm terrible, it was my fault", but after she started crying and was obviously hurt, he changed tack and started saying "she fell, it wasn't my fault, it was an accident, I didn't do it" etc etc, when I had watched him do it. I think she got more of a fright than anything, but she is looking rather pale and is a bit subdued. I'm not sure whether to get her checked over or not, but black eye and then ricocheted head.........they would just keep her . He is now bouncing around totally remorseless about it all and asking when we are going to get our new fish (all ours died when we were on holiday). He is now saying that he put his hand out to stop her from getting at his food and she charged at him and fell.

I just want to sit and cuddle DD and howl and don't want him anywhere near us

Morning all

My DD is covered in bruises as well....mainly legs, head and bum

I'm stuck at home today as DD has got diaorrhea.....pretty sure its teething nappies as she is fine in every other way and I only had 3 rank nappies yesterday (one overnight unfortunately and she slept in it and didn't wake up so striaght in the bath this morning), but nevertheless didn't really want to send her to nursery this morning.

And who is off work to look after her.....and was supposed to be on an interview panel this morning....big meeting at lunchtime...........obviously my job is not as important as DHs ....obviously DD is and should be my priority, but we are in this parenting thing together....I am really fucking ...but feel better for a rant.....

Sorry ladies

Jammy, hope you feel better soon

Glad you like the car Daisy but about panic attack...know how that feels

Oh Daisy.....sounds like he needs to calm down in his room! It must be so hard.....hope you are ok x (and DD......they are very resiliant but perhaps you should get her looked at....might make DS realise how he could really have hurt her)

LackaDAISYcal · 12/08/2008 11:02

hope DD is OK norty, and for you. Surely if DH is leaving that job he could afford to take the odd day off? thankfully DH and I used to take it in turns to look after DS when he was poorly, as we both relished the day lazing around working at home.

Happy Birthday for yesterday Ecup, but sorry to hear about your poor rabbit

DD also loves draping things around herself and trying to dress up; it's really funny.

I'm keeping an eye on her Norty; she is playing quietly, but I imagine her head might be a bit sore later on.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 12/08/2008 11:06

Sorry about the rabbit ECup

You would think he wouldn't mind a day off sitting on his arse watching the olympics wouldn't you.......tosser! tbh, I've had enough of staying in and need to get out but can't....

Has DS calmed down Daisy? Or you?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/08/2008 11:07

Videoing isn't a bad idea. I think DS just gets carried away and forgets that he is three times her size, but his behaviour is getting worse and I have run out of ideas for how to cope

I've even started a thread in behaviour/development in desperation.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 12/08/2008 11:09

He has disappeared off up to his room; I'm quite happy to leave him there.

LittleMissNorty · 12/08/2008 11:10

Sounds very much to me Daisy like he was sorry etc until he didn't get told off / walloped whatever, and then changed tack.......that's how it worked in our house when we were kids, and when we were about to get the aformentioned wallop, we were pretty good at crocodile tears.....I didn't mean to....

me and my sister were horrible to each other as kids.....always fighting and bitching

Oh god.....grotty smell coming from lounge.............. back later

Sputnik · 12/08/2008 11:49

Happy birthday for yesterday Stormy, and sorry about your rabbit.

Baby Sputnik fell off the bed the other day, though no harm done. I think he rolled off in his sleep as he seems to have taken to rolling around during his nap - yesterday I found him right on the brink. Not sure what to do about it other than build walls of pillows etc.

Sorry you're having a hard time Daisy. My DD is also continually pushing the baby away when he's "bothering" her, and has ended up having toys confiscated as a result.

We have the opposite problem really to you lot, here it is actually too hot to go out for most of the day.

Norty, hope your DD recovers for tomorrow. Meanwhile you can put your time to good use with a bit of MNing, no?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/08/2008 13:35

Just woken up (by DH phoning to see if I was OK ) and see I've missed one of the most charry and eventful mornings in ages.

Happy birthday for yesterday StormE, and sorry about your rabbit. That's sad

Sorry about all the bangs and bumps and bruises, accidental or otherwise. Daisy, I'm not sure what I'd do with a young'un pushing my DD. Hugs to you and hope you find an answer. Maybe the videoing thing would help? Thankfully no injuries to the jamlet, though she did bang her head at the park yesterday on the handle bar or the bouncy horse thing.

Norty, hope DD is OK and it is just teething. Sorry you've had to miss stuff at work too on your behalf over that.

I just spoke to my Mum and she's had similar symptoms to me, so sounds like it might be something we ate there? And my Dad's not so well again, though not as bad as earlier this year thankfully.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/08/2008 13:37

Oh and me and my brother were always fighting when I was little, he was (and still is ) 7 years older and used to have boxing matches with me and stuff which always ended badly for me. Nothing really bad of course. But as we got older we got on better and better, so do hang in there...

LittleMissNorty · 12/08/2008 14:08

Hope you're feeling better Jammy.....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 12/08/2008 14:11

Hi Norty. Thanks, am feeling rather better, but wiped out. Curled up on the sofa with the cat and the olympics at the moment

Tonight, we have egg and cheese salad
