Hope you are ok fury.

Daisy, where are you staying for the meet up? I'm very excited!

DH and I are playing on the wii fit! Well, he's going to need something to do all day when he has to leave his job

Jammy, crappy journey, but at least you are there now.

Norty, if you are lurking I hope you are ok.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 21:53

bumper, I'm staying at andie's, if she'll still have us

I take back all I have ever said about Indian call centres. I have just spoken with a lovely man called Raj at downtown VirginMumbai and he was lovely and helpful and very kindly agreed to send us a new remote control free of charge because I made him laugh with my tale of what happened to ours

DD decided it would be of more use to us if it was wedged between the radiator and the wall under the windowsill . DS and I and then DH, DS and I tried for ages to get it out, but it is well and truly wedged and just wont budge. Short of taking the radiator off the wall, it's there to stay!

Hey - what date did you all settle on for your meet up in the end?
I will be in Luton on the 21st Aug (and then in a meeting all day on the 22nd)?

LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 22:33

i think it was the 21st itself DKMA. would be great if you could make it too.

Any thoughts on what you want for the maxi-cosi base?

OP posts:
DKMA · 07/08/2008 22:38

Oh cool!

I'm not very good with geography down there but will you be meeting anywhere close to Luton?
I could take a half day off work and come down earlier - meet up (without my little fella ) give you the base etc and head back to the hotel in Luton for the evening?
Not sure how much a 2nd hand base in worth tbh (or even how much we paid for it new?) so whatever really? Make me an offer

LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 23:05

You can get new ones for £75 on ebay and second hand are selling from £30 to £50......so how about we say £40? does that sound reasonable?

If meeting up on the 21st is a no-go, the DCs and I can always have a wee drive over your way. We have friends in Poynton, which I'm hoping isn't a million miles away from where you are so we could combine a visit to them with a visit to you to pick up the seat

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 23:07

seat....i meant base!

and no idea of the geography at all. there was talk of Kew and The Horniman but couldn't tell you where they are in relation to Luton....other than Down South

OP posts:
DKMA · 07/08/2008 23:15

Thats brill daisy!
If the southerners could shed some light on how easy it would be for me to get from Luton to wherever you are meeting (I'll be driving) then we can take it from there

HellHathNoFury · 08/08/2008 08:38

DKMA - I have never driven from Luton to central (ish) London, but from Luton to outer London is easy, it's going to be London that is the rubbish bit. But you'd have that no matter what. TBH if you are a confident driver and got a sat nav you should be fine.

Yes where are we meeting? I suspect the weather is going to be shite, is it worth checking out a soft play area or some such so we can meet indoors?

HellHathNoFury · 08/08/2008 13:47

oops am pissed

hic

Bumperlicious · 08/08/2008 15:21

Tut tut, in the middle of the day Fury! If it were me I would have to keep drinking or end up falling asleep by 4pm! What's the occasion?

God I need a night out. DH and I both need some time together. Anyone else just feel consumed by their DCs?

justbeme · 08/08/2008 17:10

Afternoon - Thanks for that Link Holly re the nappy rash cream - 3 bottles arrived today and I asked for it over a day after you posted the link!!
I'll bear the egg white in mind for next time Daisy!!

Im about 13 miles away from Luton DKMA and I wouldnt have a clue how to get to some of the suggestions!!

Sorry to hear about your DP's work Bumper - What a shock!!

Bumperlicious · 08/08/2008 17:56

That's great JBM! Well done. I wish I had requested it now too, but I didn't after daisy's post! Is it a new cream or an existing one? DD is getting terrible nappy rash at the moment. The HV suggested one called Morhulin (?) but they didn't have it in boots. Must try the egg white thing too.

justbeme · 08/08/2008 18:15

Hi Bumper!! its called Zinco - its in a pump spray. Only used it twice so far - but supposed to be over £6 bottle!

justbeme · 08/08/2008 18:17

BTW just advertised out VX Astra Sri if anyone knows anyone that may be interested. Its a 56 plate and done 8,700 miles.

DKMA · 08/08/2008 19:27

Hi Ladies

I've got sat nav and a big fuck off car so I'll be alright!
JBM are you going to the meet up? Do you want picking up?

FrazzledFairyFay · 08/08/2008 19:37

oooh how exciting, it sounds like there will be lots of us at the meet-up. We still need to decide a venue though....... Where is going o be easiest for those coming in from outside London? Should we have a role call with rough areas of where we're coming from on the day, or am I being too bossy / school-marm? . Oh well, I'll do it anyway -I'll start, and put Andiem down too as she's on her hols atm.

Fairy - Teddington (SW London)
Andiem - Kingston (SW London)

FrazzledFairyFay · 08/08/2008 19:38

I requested that cream too, but I haven't got any yet

HellHathNoFury · 08/08/2008 19:56

From Reading here.

There are lots of soft play areas in London if it's pissing down.

I got drunk at work as we were celebrating the launch of something... oops we got through 260 bottles of beer and about 17 bottles of wine

HellHathNoFury · 08/08/2008 20:05

WOOOOOOOOOOO!

I sold another photo!

justbeme · 08/08/2008 20:07

Thats a kind offer of you DKMA - I've got work at 1700, so depending on where every one meets up and what your plans are - I might take you up on that!!

JBM - from Hatfield Herts

LackaDAISYcal · 08/08/2008 20:26

evening....I'll be with andie ...well following her in my car!

Only three weeks left of the holidays......yay. God, DS is bloody hard work.

DD managed to climb onto the edge of the bath this evening . I was filling the bath and undressed her, then I went to get some jammies and a nappy from her room and heard her throwing things in the bath. when I went back in the bathroom, she was teetering on the edge of it on her knees, about to face plant in the water. I dread to think what could've happened and thought she was safe in the bathroom on her own at least for a minute. What would've happened if I'd had to go downstairs for the jammies? I still feel a bit shaky about it.

fury, I misread your post and thought that you had finished off 260 bottles of beer and 17 bottles of wine . Well done on selling the photos though . I hope it can go someway to making up for the tough year that you've had.

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 08/08/2008 20:33

Daisy your DD sounds like a real handful. I thought DS was bad.

Do you know I don't really think of it as having a bad year, I think we have all had it shit at times, I think I just whinge more than most!

I think my problem is as well is that I can suffer from very very low self esteem and anxiety (which makes me paranoid as well). All up a bit of a wreck eh! But whenever I sell a picture, I feel so validated, like maybe I am not so shit after all.

The fact that my agency has 12.8 million pictures in its books, and someone chose MINE, makes me feel like I deserve my spot on this planet after all.

So not too important then

LackaDAISYcal · 08/08/2008 20:58

that's a great achievement statistically

and you haven't moaned any more than any of us; in fact I'd say you've moaned less

right, gotta pack an overnight bag fro tomoorw and get the washing up done as I want to be off early in the morning

have a great weekend all

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 08/08/2008 21:01

That is great Fury. What kind of picture was it?

Have fun picking up your car, Daisy
