Good god Fury....how awful ...as you say, makes you realise you just never know....

My clever DH has just been offered a new job as an IT manager in a large local firm (I can see a years mat leave coming up......)

Well hopefully Daisy's DH will be the third one then ....Is he going to go back them ECup?

Bumperlicious · 07/08/2008 12:45

God, my DH could do with a new job too. Here's hoping it's catching.

I may not be around for a while as I have just managed to procure a....

....wii fit!!! yay! Dh is going to be so chuffed. I lied told him there were none in stock. Just had a go, it's fab - though my wii age is 47!!! And my BMI is just on the border of normal and overweight. Have set myself the goal of losing 6lbs in a month.

well done to Norty's DH on the job, and Bumper on the Wii fit. My DH just doesn't "get" computer games so trying to justify it is impossible.

Ecup, I hope DH can come to the right decision over his brother offering the job. I remember all the angst you had before with it and hope that your DH is still remembering how he was treated. But, families are funny things and loyalty is huge, even if the other side are complete twats.

i still haven't done the car, but the rain is holding off so far so I have got two loads of washing out and have gone back to flylady basics and shone my kitchen sink. It looks lovely.

DD has been awake for 2.5 hours and in that time has needed four complete changes of clothes (cold cup of tea, mud from the garden, cat food and water). I have put her back to bed just for some peace and quiet

right, the car beckons whilst DD is out of the way.

LittleMissNorty · 07/08/2008 14:27

Oh take it to the car-wash Daisy....don't you have somewhere that will valet it for you - well hoover it out for a tenner?

[[http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/1374/582324 anyone TTC?]

LittleMissNorty · 07/08/2008 14:28

Oops!

Anyone TTC

LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 14:31

I would take it to the car wash, but DS is very excited about washing it for me, bless him. I just need to clear out all the crap and hoover and then try to get rid of the sour milk.

I should also be looking for all the paperwork, but feck knows where all my servicing stuff is . I've got the important bits though.

And need to sort out my insurance too. We got a free 7 day drive away policy from Norwich Union, but I'm sure I'll be cheaper with my own insurer.

OP posts:
foxythesnowfox · 07/08/2008 14:35

take it to the supermarket daisy. Don't they have people who wash it for a fiver? They'll do the inside as well you know!

Hi everyone!

Crikey, all of life's ups and downs on here!

Hope you are all OK.

Wiifit rocks - not that I can get on it very often. You can convince DH Daisy as it is not like other console games, much more physical. Really good, although I am obsessed with buying games. My latest is with a dance mat (£10 cheaper than anywhere else in Amazon Bumper ).

DKMA · 07/08/2008 15:17

Hey - where did you get your fit boards from? We've got the wii and dh promised to get me the fit board for my birthday but has said he can't get hold of one

Lo is back at home by the way - high on calpol

I've been ring Game every morning for about a week!

Highly inappropriate now, given that DH just got a letter from HR at CuntingTossWanks, who couldn't make their meeting with him, that he can no longer work part time as it's not working out (despite his manager putting on paper otherwise), so as of 1st of September he has to work full time, they gave us a couple of weeks to find childcare . Aaarrrggghhhhh! Feckers keep screwing us over! He is going to speak to the union, but I don't know what chance we have to appeal. I'm kind of in denial about the whole thing. I'm just thinking because they are wankers that it will "all work out".

LittleMissNorty · 07/08/2008 16:12

Oh Bumper what a PITA....have you got somewhere local where you can take DD?

Well, the childcare isn't even the point. He doesn't want to be working there at all let along full time. But the pay he gets is better than if he found another job, plus he is unlikely to get the hours we need.

FrazzledFairyFay · 07/08/2008 18:09

Well done to those with new jobs and wanky bollocks to Bumpers' Dh's emloyers.

If motherhood was a job I'd be resigning today. Dh walked in at 5:30, and had both children shoved at him with orders to take them to the playground and don't bring them back until 6:30. They are driving me potty

LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 18:23

Can I join you fairy

Whadda we want?....PEACE & QUIET
When do we want it?....NOW

arse bollock wanks to DH's employers bumper. that really isn't enough time for you to arrange the childcare. Different if she was already in a nursery or with a childminder and you could just increase her hours. Can his biss buy you some more time at least to find some childcare?

My DCs have been doing my head in this afternoon. DD has been undoing things as fast as I can do them and DS has been bellowing all afternoon. Do they lose their volume control at this age or should I get his ears checked (actually it's not that as he can hear a whispered "chocolate" at 20 paces with his back to me). I have spent the afternoon asking quietly, then speaking firmly and then bellowing "QUIETLY", which kind of makes a mockery of the request.

But, I got the inside of the car done at least. why do the carpets and upholstery in cars grip on to every last bit of grit and fluff? I know they need to be hard wearing, but surely they can develop some material that isn't like velcro. Still, it's tidier than it was and some Vanish carpet cleaner has gotten rid of the stink.....till tomorrow anyway. I found some shake'n'vac so will do that just before I take it carwash prior to taking it to the garage on Saturday.

Foxy...he still isn't convinced. He had a go on my DSis's playing golf and bowling and was singularly unimpressed.

fucking bunch of cunting arsewipes Bumper yes, he should start jumping up and down about sex discrimation. Bet there are women who work part-time.

DKMA - wii-consoles.co.uk - sign up and they email you when shops have stock in. But you have to be bloody quick. HMV sold out in about 3 minutes.

Of course, they are creating this demand by not releasing them so suckers like me get absolutely desperate for something I don't need. The dance game one is meant to be a great workout, and cheaper too.

DP can't complain cos he aint here and he can't access his bank account in detail

My car is fucking disgusting inside Daisy, so big well done to you getting yours sorted. Its a blue job. Hence the state of it.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 07/08/2008 19:45

OK, I'm at my parents. Journey was fine until we were nearly here, even though the circle line wasn't working so all my planning went to pot (would have been a dream journey across town otherwise with just 3 steps at Liv St), but a nice man helped me carry pushchair & jamlet up and down stairs But 15 mins away from destination we had an hour and 10 minute delay Jamlet was understandably getting fed up, but was pretty good all things considered, which is more than can be said for the gobby, angry man, the drunk girls, and the miserable, racist git in our carriage

Anyway, Jamlet is in bed and I'm about to start work. Haven't had a chance to catch up other than seeing Bumper's news about her DH's stupid stupid employers. Back on Sunday.

foxythesnowfox · 07/08/2008 19:58

Sorry to hear that Jammy. Living in London that's what we expect it to be like, sadly. Hope you have a lovely weekend now you are there

FairyFay URGENT

Have you seen that Hotel Chocolate are selling Excellence boxes for a tenner including delivery? Its a members offer I'm afraid.

I know, a tenner for a box of chocs

I bought two

HellHathNoFury · 07/08/2008 20:11

I am watching last nights BB. I know I am alone in this. Sara is a prick tease.

Jammy I get the trains every day, glorious aren't they?
Know how you feel though, I got off the train at 5 but thanks to WANKY traffic where I live I didn't get home til 6. It's only 3 miles from the station.

I am really suffering fatigue the last 3/4 days. I wonder why.

Not DS though, he is a little superhero champion. He has learned to feed himself really well in the last couple of days.

LackaDAISYcal · 07/08/2008 20:14

Glad you got there safe and well jammy. Enjoy your weekend

stop it foxy! I do NOT need a Wii.....I do NOT a Wii.......I do NOT need a Wii. Well I do actually, but not that sort

Did we decide on a venue for the meet-up? Is it Kew, or The Hornimann...or somewhere else entirely? I'm happy to go with the majority vote. DH thinks it'll be too much for me to travel to the big city by myself, 6.5 months pregnant with two kids in tow. Pah fooey is what I say to him

OP posts:
FrazzledFairyFay · 07/08/2008 20:20

Foxy, why can't I find that offer? I NEED that offer.

HellHathNoFury · 07/08/2008 20:38

I'm a killjoy and going to bed. Night all.
