Flmsprrw · 08/08/2008 18:51

I'm sorry - been lost in a world of chicken pox and holiday mayhem.

I can't catch up with the thread

mustrunmore · 08/08/2008 19:53

Im here for a while. Cant catch up either. Flame, did i ever reply to yr text today? I've gotta either text or email you later anyhow.

Missing callback day for job cos on hols, but more at end of month. Not sure if i want positions offered though. have another job idea, but needs 6 wk traininig course ie childcare issues.

Flmsprrw · 08/08/2008 20:03

mustrunmore · 08/08/2008 22:11

i did in my head!!

Frizbe · 08/08/2008 23:43

Oooh MRM what's the other job idea then? I don't know why but I could see you doing some sort of holistic therapy thing?

CSWS drat, didn't realise you were up Brum way, could have tried to fit in a flying hello on Thur, when I was over at SIL's in Bromsgrove! Kids spent a very happy day playing on trampoline and watching SIL's new 42 inch tv in her kitchen whilst the boys played wii on the front room tv dd1 now wants to know why we can't have a huge tv on the kitchen wall have told her it'll fall off like the shelves did

Lol at the keyboard Jas. Dh in Wales here, so I'm working all weekend, kids with gran tomorrow am, then Meridian on Sunday, whilst I manage a YuGiOh tournament should be fun.

mustrunmore · 09/08/2008 09:29

lol at holistic therapy! Couldnt be bothereed!

Frizbe · 09/08/2008 13:59

really, no? I could see you fiddling with peoples feet n doing massages n all that jazz, how's about accupuncture, surely sticking needles in people is up your street
Horribly wet today eh, shop is dead, dh is in very wet tent in wales.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/08/2008 19:45

lol at thought of mrm doing holistic therapy. I don't see her as that 'type' at all!

Jas - might have a spare keyboard at home if you can't fix yours.

What miserable weather today. And lots more the same forecast up here, with just a brief respite for some sun tomorrow allegedly .

EachPeachPearMum · 09/08/2008 21:30

Umm... how silly would I look if I said that my extreme tiredness was probably because I hadn't been eating enough?

Have eaten a lot more the last couple of days, and actually made it to 10pm last night.
And I was SO pleased I hadn't put any weight on yet since being pg! Gah.

Jas · 10/08/2008 10:49

thamks 4 offer but i will ger a new 1 soon

onjy letter left is q

Frizbe · 10/08/2008 13:26

Jas that makes no sense to me at all?

CSWS horribly wet eh, although its being briefly sunny here at the moment, 10 mins ago it was belting it down am stuck in shop, whilst dh is still getting wet in wales, there is rain stuck over where they are, according to the weather the rest of the country is virtually dry

EPPM I guess you've been too busy to eat then?

EachPeachPearMum · 10/08/2008 15:41

Umm- in my defence- I haven't actually been any hungrier!
Have been given extra food for various reasons last couple of days, and felt much less tired

And it is hurling it down here! Has been on and off all day.

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/08/2008 09:27

So, 5:30am this morning, dd starts shouting that there's a dinosaur in her room. I go in to try and reassure her that I have warded off the dinosaur, but she insists that she has to run, so gets out of her sleeping bag and charges in to see nanny. That was the end of sleep for the night.

EachPeachPearMum · 12/08/2008 19:56

Do I smell or something?
Where is everyone?

CantSleepWontSleep · 12/08/2008 21:21

Was wondering the same thing EPPM. We'll just have a cosy twosome on here for a while!

EachPeachPearMum · 12/08/2008 22:05

well- you met me now... do I smell?

Jas · 13/08/2008 09:02

Well lurking on here (with no keyboard so I couldn't post a legible post) is no fun!

Did you two have a nice meet up?

I'm not keeping up with anything due to school holidays.
DD2 is on her second week of daily swimming lessons at 8, so we are up and out nice and early, but the weather isn't great for entertaining them on a severely restricted budget.

We go to France in less than two weeks, and currently don't even have enough money for the petrol to get there, not even thinking about spending money.

I will come back later and see if anyone is around.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/08/2008 09:55

No smell that I noticed.

We had a lovely meet up except for dd being in a foul overtired mood for most of it, because the dinosaurs had got her up at 5:30am .

I assume that you have a new keyboard now then?

Weather isn't great for entertaining children even with a budget. Must sort out some more activities for next week before I come home.

Would your brother help you out with petrol cost? Is dp working full time at the moment, so at least there is money coming in?

Jas · 13/08/2008 10:26

My brother and dad have already paid for the accomodation. I couldn't ask.

DP is working this week, and will hopefully get paid something before we leave, but he's had aprox 1 in every 2 weeks with no work lately

We've got a day out today at the gunpoweder mills as my friends ticket will get us all in.

I've promised dd2 she can get her nails done at the nail salon next week as she is doing really well at not sucking her thumb with it as a reward, and dd1 wants a hair cut before we go away.

Ds is happy with a very long ride on a double decker bus, looking out and yelling "motorbike" "tractor" and "bus" every few seconds!

I've rearranged his speach therapy appt for when the dds are back at school, as I couldn't face taking all three, and I think it is going to be a total waste of time as he is talking alot more now. I don't want to cancel it totally just in case there is still a problem I'm not noticing.

New keyboard is big and klunky, but very cheap, so I won't feel bad if it gets wrecked, and it is good enough for mumsnetting and paying bills online which is all I really do these days.

Jas · 13/08/2008 10:27

On the positive side, he has done everything he can do with the bathroom without spending any more money.

We need to buy the tiles next, then it can be tiled and made into a functioning room

mustrunmore · 13/08/2008 10:38

Dh decided to finally paint the bathroom window farme and sill while me and the boyswere away. So now we hve a apne of glass all held together with masking tape where it cracked in 3 diff directions

Here briefly.

Advice. Dont take a 2yr old anda 4yr old on a nightime ghost walk where actors jump out and you and scream right in your face Altho ds1 did come out with a classic; shouted at a goblinman thing 'you cant touch me or you're gonna lose your job' Bur I do think yelling really loud in a 2yr olds face whwen you're all in black with face covered is a bit unecessary. Plus the tourguide bloke refused to answer ds1's questions at the end, even tho they were very sensible.Ignored him, even rolled his eyes at him when he put his hand up. Really crap attitude.

CantSleepWontSleep · 13/08/2008 16:47

Quick link for EPPM.

Great advice mrm. Clearly something I would have done otherwise .

Flamesparrow · 13/08/2008 19:17

I'm sorry - chaos here. B now has the pox, DH may do too (hard to tell, he is fairly spotty in general), and just found out MIL is having radiotherapy but not why

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 14/08/2008 20:01

Jas- Swimming at 8 DD has barely shown her head by that time, let alone got any clothes on!
It's pretty crap about the holiday situation though- is it just petrol and spends- ie are ferry and food paid for too?

Am I going mad- I don't remember you saying anything about DS and SALT? Having his sisters around all day is probably encouraging him to say more- not the copying... trying to get a word in edgeways!
What is a gunpowder mill?

CSWS- DD has been enjoying (me) drawing round herself and then colouring/sticking stuff on to make replica DDs- I use the huge roll of paper we got from IKEA but old walpaper or lining paper works just as well. She loves it.
Also, Nana came up trumps this week- brought her one of those magic painting books where you just use water- I used to love mine when I was small- she adores it, and not much mess or supervision needed as she just has a little pot of water and a brush, not paint.

mrm- DS1 sounds scarily well-informed of his rights

mustrunmore · 14/08/2008 20:32

Lol, didnt even occur to me to think that swimming at 8am was unusual!

Yep, ds1 is very into his own personal rights etc. Mind you, the two current bones of contention as overheard talking to dh this morning are
1."Daddy, how come you and mummy get to share a bed but me and ds2 can only share a room?"
2."Daddy, why havent we got a pole to dance on yet?"

csws, you coming here on Tues? Its on my calendar! Are we doing anything in particular?

Ds1 was got short hair Its ok actually.REmeber when dh took him afrer ds2 was born, and he looked trrible? Well, not that bad this time. Looks very acceptable, just normal and shorter
