Oh dear!!! Think we should prepare ourselves for a looooong night. Ds had a 3 hour nap.

mustrunmore · 20/07/2008 18:29

Yep, 2.30 till 5.15 here

EachPeachPearMum · 20/07/2008 18:33

We've just got back from a pirate birthday party- dd is v excited, but I am shattered.

Flame- is that the joss weedon thingy?

Flamesparrow · 20/07/2008 19:33

No nap here

Wish i could get the dds to sleep at a decent time though.

HF&M Phoenix. There isn't anything you can do is there? Just wait for him to get better?

DD2 still tends to fall out of bed, despite the bed rail, and at 2 fell out of the double bed about 4 nights a week.

Of the two occasions ds went to sleep in his bed, he fell out once.

Very confused by Dr Horrible. I can't play videos here, they jump and I get bored, so only saw a little bit on the link and gave up.

Hello

Where is everyone today?

Ds is slightly better today . His mouth is still full of ulcers but he has eaten more. He's had 2 ice lollys, 4 cups of milk, a small bit of juice, a yogurt, a packet of wotsits, a slice of dry bread, a small cheese sandwich and a corn cob that he nicked off my plate - good balanced/healthy diet

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/07/2008 20:42

I'm here now .

Was at hospital all morning (diabetic clinic always runs late) and had a friend round this afternoon so was sitting in the garden chatting whilst the girls ran around half naked (friend is potty training too).

Good news on the potty front is that since dd's refusal to use it for a poo on Friday, she has had all poos in it . No accidents today at all in fact, even with the cm this morning. Will have to see how she gets on at school tomorrow, when I suspect they may not remind her quite as much, and she will be more distracted.

Phoenix · 21/07/2008 20:50

Ds won't go nappy free at all now, apart from when he gets out of the bath. He knows full well how to use the potty and toilet but just wants a nappy on the instant a dirty one is off.

Frizbe · 21/07/2008 22:34

Oh Phoenix don't you just hate it when they decide to go back {{{Hugs}}} re the HFand M thing, tis not nice from what I hear.

I like the bed CSWS but agree about the prices, sure IKEA do a midi bed with storage under it, in fact Meridians ds has one, think I'd wait till dd is 3.5 before using it though, just in case of fall out. I think the built in wardrobes sound good too

I've been sale bargin shopping today (although reading CSWS's post have just put peppa pig duvet on the xmas list ) Grabbed the following bargins, 3 vests with peppa pig on em for 3.50 at Next, new ballet pumps for me £9, new boots for lrp for me £15 debenhams, reduced from £75 suede kneehigh type things with buckles. dd2 £6 outfit from Next, ss £6 t and shirt on top,Next, £9 new pair of trews for him too. and a £5 t for me from Zara I also got dd2 3 school skirts, alas not in the sales......but they were 2 for 3, and had to buy age 7, or they'd have been too short for her thankfully they have moveable waists, phew.

Jas · 22/07/2008 13:05

Tesco online had a nice (not too babyish) midsleeper I think, too.

I like yours csws, but reckon you could get a nice one for less.

I spent all afternoon braiding little girls hair yesterday at infant school fun day, and managed to get sunburn on the backs of my knees!

Today is last day of term here, and they finish at 2. DS is fast asleep on the floor. I left him for 15 mins and now I can't wake him up,so I've taken his nappy off and put a towel under him. He may as well have nappy free time while he's not moving!

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/07/2008 17:12

Oh you know how fussy I am guys. I did find another cabin bed that I like, but it's even more expensive!

The builders have been putting joists in in the loft today I think, and we now have holes all over the ceiling of the (previously immaculate) spare room where they have banged nails/screws in .

EachPeachPearMum · 22/07/2008 17:51

That one is lovely though! (couldn't see the link to the last reason, maybe due to firefox?)

I have been going to bed at 7:30 this week, straight after dd, am just exhausted.

How tired do you think is tired enough to get signed off? [hopeful emoticon]

Jas · 22/07/2008 18:41

That is lovely but[shock ] at the price. And then you have to pay £50 delivery and buy a mattress!

Phoenix · 22/07/2008 19:25

Does that bed do any tricks for that price

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/07/2008 20:10

Yes, it puts all the clothes and toys away by itself and guarantees a good night's sleep .

EachPeachPearMum · 22/07/2008 20:32

Phoenix- how is ds today?

(am still up! Dh had dinner on the table when I got in, which has made a difference to my energy levels )

Phoenix · 22/07/2008 20:36

He's loads better today thanks EPPM. I asked him this morning if his mouth was still hurting or better and he said 'better mummy' He's had 3 good meals and been a lot happier

Jas · 22/07/2008 20:36

Oooh. A late night for you EPPM

Jas · 22/07/2008 20:37

X Posts, Phoenix.Good that he is feeling better now

Frizbe · 22/07/2008 23:13

CSWS that bed is gorgeous but the price is not but if you can afford it, what the hell

Phoenix, Glad ds is feeling better

Jas as ds fast asleep on the floor.

EPPM are you lacking in iron do you think? that can make you tired from what I remember, get scoffing the spinich and red meat Give your dh a gold star for making dinner for you, I so wish dh would make an effort just once in a while here (mind he's not here for many mealtimes these days, but on a Friday when I do the late shift, it would be nice)

So, is anyone elses kids having nightmares yet? twice in the past week, we've had to go into dd2 screaming the place down, in that terror mode they go into poor mite.

damewashalot · 23/07/2008 09:59

Morning all

Not keeping up very well still but at least i'm around a bit more

phoenix hope ds is getting better.

CSWS the bed is lovely but i have to admit my first thought was are you mad putting a 2 yr old in a bed that high? ds2 still falls out every now and then and he's 6. Also what about when you stop night nappies and she wants to get out for a wee? You lot may have already talked about tis stuff, as i said not keeping up but I've learnt to be practical by buying beautiful things thatjust don't do what I'd hoped.

Well I'm waiting to here back from britax customer services about our complaining email. DS3 was sat in our verve and it tipped over and crashed his head into the pavement big bump but ok. Think we will email trading standards too, a buggy just shouldn't be able to do that and goggling it looks like we are far from being the only ones to have this happen.

EachPeachPearMum · 23/07/2008 15:33

Friz- am beginning to wonder if I am anaemic actually- I did miss a lot of meals over the last few months!

Dame- for Ds3- don't think buggies should be doing that!

No nightmares here, but how on earth do you keep their duvets on? No matter what time I go onto her room, its on the floor! ...and dd is usually curled in a little ball, moaning 'Mama'

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/07/2008 16:55

Flame - looks like dh is going to Sydney () from 3rd August to 15th, so I can either go to my parents during that time, or you can come and stay (as long as you can cope with building mess!). Is that any good for you or not? Actually, if you could get here by 11am on 2nd Aug then you could come out to lunch with us and hub and hunker and mars!

EachPeachPearMum · 23/07/2008 17:01

So we won't be meeting up at Sea life centre?
