Ha!

OP posts:

I'm afraid Amtico is notoriously expensive, especially with their twiddly border design thingys.

Have you thought about bamboo? It is warmer and quieter than other wooden floors, and wears well. Having said that I'm sure you could have soundproofing and wooden floor for less than the Amtico.

Am with Flame on the colour though ... sorry!

EachPeachPearMum · 20/09/2008 21:01

Marmoleum?

Phoenix · 20/09/2008 21:17

Hello, i'm home

I read earlier but have forgot most of it.

for boy EPPM. It'll be fine, boys are lovely

EachPeachPearMum · 20/09/2008 21:34

Hope weather was good Phoenix!

Phoenix · 20/09/2008 21:40

Yes Thursday and Friday were very nice and we had a nice day earlier on in the week. 1 morning we had rain but it cleared in the afternoon. The whole holiday was great and we can't wait to go back to where we stayed next Sept. On our own this time not with my parents and grandparents who really got on my nerves sometimes

I've put my pics on Facebook

EachPeachPearMum · 20/09/2008 22:37

yes- I could not imagine going on holiday with my parents... MIL yes, btdt, but mine? no way!

Phoenix · 21/09/2008 09:40

God no i couldn't go on holiday with PIL

Ds didn't wake up til 7.55 this morning, he must have missed his own bed. He's been up at 6am every day on holiday.

Does anyone else's lo's call you by your first name? Ds thinks it's hilarious shouting 'go' or 'gon' (he can't say J's )

I'm gonna go do some christmas shopping today . We brought some money home from our hols so may as well use it for something useful rather than blowing it. Gonna get ds a Sportacus outfit

Jas · 21/09/2008 10:12

Welcome back Phoenix Glad you had a good hol.

DS calls dp by his name sometimes, but not me so far. The dds called us both by our names until dd1 started school

Mum gave me money for my birthday...I'm going to buy some shoes and fund dd1s present (she's 8 this week) with it

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/09/2008 10:50

I thought that dd1 was already 9 Jas .

Welcome back Phoenix - glad you had a great holiday.

So does anyone want to pass comment on the idea of just the sparkly white floor?
Dh has agreed to the full cost if I still want it, but now you've all got me having doubts.

Jas · 21/09/2008 12:49

She is...dd2 is almost 8

Jas · 21/09/2008 12:52

I don't mind just sparkly white, much better than combined with the pink.

How long does it need to last (would be until the children left home if I was paying that much!). Will she want sparkly floor at 12? What about when she and ds decide they want to swap rooms in a few years?

EachPeachPearMum · 21/09/2008 19:28

Sparkly white is a little more subdued! Does the sparkle last well?

I'm sure boys like sparkle too though!

Am absolutely stuffed full of yummy roast chicken dinner, followed by chocolate hobnobs once DD went to bed

She went really early today- was just v v tired, and we seem to have dropped daytime napping at last!

mustrunmore · 22/09/2008 07:54

I've got a problem. Xmas do is the weekend after ds1's birthday, but if we do his party the weekend before, his best friend may not be able to come. Cant really do the party on party night, as we're plannig an outdoor muddy dusk thing, so I wont have the time or the inclination to get ready; we imagined kids gonig then us all snuggling down after bathing the mud off. Unless we did a sunday, but I dont think people will come with school next day.

Got bruises all up my thigh from my pole

Jas · 22/09/2008 17:30

You can't do the Friday, either I guess?

I'm not going this year.

DS has decided he won't sit in shopping trolly/buggy for any length of time. I gave up on the weekly shop yesterday, as he was a nightmare - escaping and running. He won't walk (where I want him to) either
I took him shoe shopping today (spent my birthday money and got shoes and boots)and had to keep feeding him to get him to stay in the buggy.

DrHorrible · 22/09/2008 19:54
Sad
EachPeachPearMum · 22/09/2008 20:02

Is that for Jas, mrm, or you?

DrHorrible · 22/09/2008 20:03

everyone in the world! But mainly at MRM

EachPeachPearMum · 22/09/2008 20:07

You know you can see her at other times than the christmas meet-up though!

DrHorrible · 22/09/2008 20:19

It isn't the same

Frizbe · 22/09/2008 21:05

EPPM for boy, ss is by far the easiest of the bunch here even when he was dd1's age (that she is now) he was lots better (she spat at her dad yesterday, I'm surprised I didn't hear him shout from work, he was not impressed, lord knows where she got that idea from? school?)

Dame, waves, glad your on the mend

MRM at the pole and ouch for the dodgy stitches.

Phoenix, will try and check out facebook sometime, haven't been on in an age, in fact haven't done anything for me in a whole week! but here I am now!

CSWS what about that flooring you can get in kitchens, you know the sealed rubber stuff with circles in it? or is that too kitchen???? it might look good in white? will go find a link for you?

Jas, Happy Birthday to dd2(it is 2 isn't it?) aged 8

Ello to anyone else I've missed (Flame, Chloe? CS?)

mustrunmore · 22/09/2008 21:23

I cant really do the Fri cos I had this vision of dh actually being here for ds1's party for a change . Plus if weather is shit will have to resort to cimena with 4 or 5 friends, so I need him then for crowd control!

Votes pls for what to spend my £50 amazon voucher on, that I earned today...

  1. Dh thinks we dhould get a camcorder cos ours is a shit old tape thing the size of 2 bricks, but would have to put another £50 to it.
  2. Could get ds1's xmas present, plus have a bit left over for something (not sure what)
  3. Could go 50/50 on it, and I'd spend my half on a pole dvd which I do need to help me learn, plus tempted by a scooby blanket for ds1! But I dont think dh wants anything for his £25.

Bear in mind I have some money in paypal that is too little to transfer to bank, so could get my dvd or ds1's present off ebay with that.

CantSleepWontSleep · 22/09/2008 21:43

Do you want to take more video? 1 if yes.
Otherwise 4 - save it til there's something you all agree you really want to spend it on.

Thanks for link Friz, but bit too kitcheny I think.

Re party mrm - can't ds1's friend sort out his plans so that he can come, rather than you re-arrange the whole event to fit around him?

People keep giving birth on my ante-natal thread .

EachPeachPearMum · 22/09/2008 22:09

mrm- I would use it for christmas presents.... but then I spend soooo much on books at christmas time!

CSWS- Well there's a surprise How dare they!

DrHorrible · 22/09/2008 22:11

i would camcorder it I think

CSWS - that's a bit bloody inconsiderate innit?

Frizbe · 22/09/2008 22:15

CSWS how dare they! I know what you mean about the flooring, twas just an idea! have karndean got anything of any use?
PS: I meant to say before, I know a few duncan's all of whom are lovely.

MRM I'd go camcorder, then you can have fun with it at xmas, birthdays etc and embarrase the kids in years to come
