Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
damewashalot · 18/09/2008 12:15

Hate computers!!!!!!!!!

DrHorrible · 18/09/2008 12:33

I was sooooooooooooo about boys - he was a good 6 or 9 weeks old before I got my head round it, so by the end of your pregnancy you should be fiiiiiiiiiiiiine.

I know flameboy is escape artist extraordinaire, but he is still easier - you know where you stand with boys, none of this pissing about with girly emotions.

EachPeachPearMum · 18/09/2008 13:14

Flame- yes- that is why I needed to find out now!
Think I will just about be straight with it when he turns up.
DD has yet to start the emotional stuff, really.

damewashalot · 18/09/2008 14:49

I'm wearing size 12jeans

Not bad for 16wks after baby 4 and a csec.

Ok so I still weigh 1 1/2 stone more than pre preg but I am embarassingly joyful and had to share.

DrHorrible · 18/09/2008 15:06

Oh yay!!!!!!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 18/09/2008 15:13

EPPM - sounds like a similar reaction to me about having a boy.

for skinny-minny-ness dame.

EachPeachPearMum · 18/09/2008 20:16

Oh dear... DD has realised that she can actually get out of bed once we've gone

Jas · 19/09/2008 07:17

Good to have you back Dame.
Great to hear ds is well. for PND, but good that you are on treatment, and hope things improve soon.

Boy EPPM...mine has definitely grown on me. I'd probably have chosen another girl if it was possible, but ds is very boyish, and lovely. Congrats.

EachPeachPearMum · 19/09/2008 11:09

Dunno how to do boyish though.... I never was one! Am fearful of rufty tuftyness

DH was not a boisterous boy either.... eek!

I was a tomboy though, mostly, so maybe that will help.
It's the climbing and danger thing that scares me- DD is very cautious naturally, and has never really given us any heart-stopping moments thank goodness, am worried already thinking of Flameboy exploits, and mrm's DS with the mangle treadmill!

mustrunmore · 19/09/2008 11:51

Lol, shall I summarise this week for you, to really panic you?!

Ds1 spent most of Wed in medical room apparently, after diving headfirst off climbing frame onto a chain scramble net (not that the teacher told me )

He spent last night vomiting with a high temperature so is off sick today.

Also this week, ds1 has launched himself so hard off the pole that he landed on the corner of a chair and bled

Ds2 stood on the thing we keep all our dvds in, and did a wee which ran throgh the hinge bit and dripped all in the dvds and dh's precious cds (ones that he kept in cases ather than bunging in the cd wallets we use).

Ds2 had to be evicted from both nursery and reception, after making a mad dash for both cos he's so desperate to go.

Ds2 got his finger stuck in a baby walker thing at soft play , on the same visit as being ladeded on at foot of slide by a 9ish yr old, and falling down toilet whilst doing a poo.

He has also fallen asleep on our toilet mid-poo, left his buttiebag and spare clothes on the bus, been told off by bus driver for standing on the chair, lit the gas stove leaving the gas running, done a poo on the table (total accident, in his defence), and attempted to get into the loft once I was up there so couldnt reach down to stop him getting up the ladder.

They have hit each other about a million times, attacked each other with fishing nets pretending to be daleks (on their heads), fallen from the top of our bush whilst climbing together (is v spindly and does not hold a boys weight!).

And ds2 has learnt to call ds1 by name but he cant pronounce it so he's yelling 'bye sexy' through the window of reception in the mornings

EachPeachPearMum · 19/09/2008 11:56

aarrrrggggggghhhhhhhhh - you see? you see?

How do you fall asleep mid-poo?????

mustrunmore · 19/09/2008 14:27

Cos when you refuse to seat on the seat, only on the china rim, you need to hold he bath to stop yourself slipping. From there, its esy to lean forward on your arms if you're feeling sleepy!

CaptainFlameSparrowWifeOfJack · 19/09/2008 19:07

pmsl @ "Bye sexy!"

DS called nappiesgalore's DS1 Arsey

EachPeachPearMum · 19/09/2008 20:51

mrm- how long does it take to have a poo in your house?

Must be painful putting a wee bottom directly onto the china though strange poor little thing!

mustrunmore · 20/09/2008 08:06

I used to favour china when I was little too
In his defence, he was knackered that day; a really active day,up since 5.30am, no buggy now at all so using legs all the time, and the excitement of his grandad tunring up unannounced (from the cuban hurricane!)
But I think I'm the only one in the house who pooes efficiently; the other 3 all seem to daydream for ages

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/09/2008 10:41

Grrrr. Need to moan about cost of flooring without being judged, so will do so on here!
Had quotes from John Lewis for carpeting stairs (from ground floor all the way up to new loft room) and landings, and for putting funky amtico flooring (in sparkly white and bright pink!) in dd's new bedroom. Although we haven't picked a carpet yet, based on a decent quality and popular kind the carpet quote was £1123, which I was pleasantly surprised by. Just got the amtico quote through in the post (allegedly complicated design meant they had to go away and work it out) and it's £1840, just for the one room . Now I don't know what to do. Heart was set on the funky design, and I'm adamant that I won't have carpet up there (get bad dust allergies which are worsened by carpet, can't clean up spillages/destruction as easily (if at all), and not as good for toy playing (eg wheels to run along)), wood would be too noisy for 2nd floor, and can't really think of any other options.
Anyone got any bright ideas, or do I have to convince dh that in the grand scheme of the enormous amount of money we are spending on the house at the moment, that it is worth it?

DrHorrible · 20/09/2008 11:18

You know I have noooooooooo way I can encourage you to spend 2k on flooring for one room! Is there seriously nowhere else that can do similar? ooh or get mor expensive for the rest of the house so that the one room looks cheap

Jas · 20/09/2008 11:26

Flooring cost...how much is proper lino (not plastic stuff)?

DD2 has fallen asleep on the toilet before now, too (Usually inthe night when she gets up for a wee.

Forgot the rest. The cost of floor has thrown me

I'm supposed to be cleaning and painting. DD1 is at brownie day and dp has taken the other two out

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/09/2008 11:45

But look at how lovely this and this would be together. I was thinking that maybe if we thought of it as £3k to floor the new bedroom and the stairs and landings it wouldn't seem so bad, and we could ignore the breakdown between the two .

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/09/2008 11:46

Meant to be the white sparkly one round the outside, then a chequerboard (diagnonally positioned) of the two of them inside.

DrHorrible · 20/09/2008 11:47

I'm not feeling the love tbh

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/09/2008 11:49
Jas · 20/09/2008 12:06

I certainly wouldn't buy it. What about having just plain sparkly...she might not like pink forever after all

DrHorrible · 20/09/2008 12:09
CantSleepWontSleep · 20/09/2008 13:17

Ho ho flame .

Would save about £400 to go for just plain white sparkly I think. Considering this, but worried that a white floor might look too stark?
