Lucky - my DD hasn't been fed at the usual times today either maybe its something in the air She has wanted to sleep soooo much today its untrue!! Everytime she should be feeding she has been sleeping. But she has slept so much that when she was showing tired cues I thought she can't possibly be tired again!! She must have slept for nearly 4 hours today altogether.

Have just spoken to DH I cannot believe that neither him or my bro remembered an adapter for plug points so will have to buy one on ferry. We have a drawer full of the feckers!! My DH forgets something every year. last year he forgot his passport and realized when he had been cycling for 5 hrs and had to get train back. How would he cope having to pack for 2 Dcs??

LuckySalem · 11/08/2008 21:47

Simpson - Your DH sounds just like mine. Would forget his head if it weren't screwed on.

Am gonna take a bottle to bed with me and if she wakes up i'll feed her but i'm too worried that she'll wake up fully if I try to feed her tonight.

simpson · 11/08/2008 22:07

Men definitely cannot multi task DH has also admitted he has forgotten to pack spare razor blades & a spare jumper. Guess who has to do that? He has also given me a long list of things that need doing on fri morning ie feed fish, put out rubbish etc. Like I don't have enough to do!! We are leaving at 7am on Fri have got 2 Dcs to feed (and myself of course!!)

Am determined to get early night tonight & be in bed by 10.30 we shall see....

Kelix · 11/08/2008 23:46

HI everyone, wow took me ages to catch up.

Am very unsettled mummy tonight as DD is in her own room for first time! She is fine and went to bed no problem but I keep feeling the need to check on her every 10 minutes (we live in a terraced house she is not that far away and we have baby monitor but..)

Apart from that all is well here, we had a lazy day catching up with housework, me and DD spent the day in our PJ's

No time for personals tonight, think I've missed to much tbh, but will try to catch up on what I can remember.

Meetups - Am at half of you meeting up. Would prob be up for a meet up if anyone up north? Something for you all to think about.

Holidays - I NEED ONE Am thinking of caravan for a few days just for a bit of a break.

Purees - I dont make many myself tbh, but DD will eat pretty much anything out of a Hipp jar (I give her the 7 month + one now) also loves bananas atm. Very messy as she feeds the to herself. Not a puree to start with but are very much so by the time she has finished with them

Sleeping - My DD is a good sleeper (waits for DD to wake up screaming at least ten times tonight lol) she goes down at 9ish and sleeps through til 9ish. Sometimes wakes for her dummy during the night but settles herself straight away. Sorry to all those having trouble, my sympathy is with all of you.

Forgetful DPs - Mine not too bad I suppose but would never be able to pack DD stuff for a holiday. Cant even pack her an overnight bag when she goes to my mums! Although he is quite good at reminding me of things like have you locked the car (ah no), have you got your keys (ah no), did you turn the straighners off (ah no). I blamed pregnancy and now blame it on being a mummy but truth is I am just forgetful

Anyway off to check on DD (again). Bye for now.

lilyloo · 12/08/2008 08:43

Lucky / Kelix how did dd's do ?

Simpson wow he must be very fit ? Think dp would break out in a sweat at end of street

Is this any use to any of you London crowd here

Also if anyone looking for a bouncy castle for lo bargain to be had here also cheap paddling pools etc!

Well another rubbish night here again i am abs fed up. The nights go on forever up at 9/11/2/5 and up at 6.30! She back in bed now and i am exhausted!

OP posts:
lilyloo · 12/08/2008 08:52

They also have them trikes with the handle on there for £10 instead of £40!

OP posts:
Isabellasmam · 12/08/2008 08:57

Please stop showing me bargains, I've already got wrong off dh for spending too much time/money on ebay. All for dd and dh (except the shoes ). I did get a lovely mamas & papas butterfly rocker for £35 when its £75 in the shops. Can't wait for it to arrive (and my shoes!!!!).

lilyloo · 12/08/2008 09:04

LOL i don't knoe whether to get the bouncy castle it is really cheap at that price Si is the trampoline and the little rocker though and the trike

Repeat 'we have no money , we have no money'

OP posts:
simpson · 12/08/2008 10:10

lilyloo - I would definitely get the bouncy castle. Have any of your Dcs got birthdays in the summer?? I wish I had seen that a couple of months ago I have bought something similar from ELC for £20 reduced from £40.

DD's sleeping is great but the same cannot be said for DS. He woke up at 4am and chatted VERY loudly and woke up DD. Think it might have been the rain that roused him. Fed DD at 4am then both Dcs slept till 9.30am so feel ok today.

Pity about the meal deal but we are away then.

Have to go and pack Ds's bag he is being off loaded to my mum's overnight. He has not done a poo for 2 days. I pity her, but knowing my luck he will do it in his pants 5 mins before he goes.

lilyloo · 12/08/2008 13:37

wow quiet here today
I have been good and refrained from getting anything we really can't afford it. But keep thinking it would be good for birthdays/xmas.

DD had another two finger foods today crumpets and bread stick !

dd1 having a teddy bears picnic on our front room floor at the minute as it throwing it down here!

OP posts:
simpson · 12/08/2008 15:26

Just got back from town shopping for ladt bits for holiday and changing money etc. Got caught in town with screaming baby in the pouring rain and no rain cover. Oops bad mummy

Lilyloo - well done for not spending I am terrible. Saw a plastic cricket set reduced to £1.50 and bought it for Ds to give to some child when he is invited to birthday parties etc. I know it is only £1.50 but I am always doing it. We have a big box of stuff for birthday pressies etc. He better get some invites now

Taking advantage of only having one DC and starting to pack etc. How I hate it [wail!!!]

simpson · 12/08/2008 15:28

Opps meant "last" bits obviously Typing too quick.

Also saw quite a few people i know in Town and a work colleague is in labour as we speak!!Her waters broke very early this morning....

Kelix · 12/08/2008 16:19

LIlyloo - DD was OK last nite (slept much better than Mummy!) She went down about 9:30 with out any complaints and slept soundly til 3:30am when she woke up and was a bit unsettled for an hour. She eventually went off again at 4:30 and when I woke up at 9.15 was still fast asleep. Herd her on the baby monitor chatting to her self about 9:30 and went into her at 9:50!! When she was happily chatting away to herself. She looked very happy to see me but then again she usually does first thing. Fingers crossed tonight is as good or better? Would settle for the same again tho Well done with more finger foods. We had tuna butty from Tesco (kiddies meal thing) which went down OK but DD was much more interested in my jacket potato!

Simpson - Am of your hols! Good idea picking up bargins to give as prezzies tho. Will start a box soon just incase As Lily said you DP must be very fit to travel all that way! Doubt me or DP would get further than the bottom of the street (we live at top of hill so even we could manage to the bottom lol)

Isabellasmum - Am with you on not seeing bargins. I keep buying things because they are 'soooo cute' or 'a total bargin' (£60 reduced from £70 - who am I trying to kid) Bought DD some more clothes from next today, georgeous little jeans with a stripy belt and a little miss chatterbox t-shirt. I really have to stop visiting shops

Hi to everyone else

Not too much happening here although am definatly noticing an improvment in DD's eating (finger foods) she seems to be really getting the hang of it with very little coughing/choking etc which am am over the moon about!

Will be back later - Bye for now

LaTrucha · 12/08/2008 16:30

LOL Kelix - DD is always more interested in 'our' food. THe clothes in Nest are lovely now aren't they. M+S have some crackers too. I love this and this
They don't look so good in the photos but thry're lovely in real.

What are your lo's fave finger foods then?
And how are we getting on with fish, chicken etc..?

LaTrucha · 12/08/2008 16:31

p.s. hello!

simpson · 12/08/2008 17:47

Hi

God it so much easier having to worry about 1 DC!!! DS being dropped back home tomorrow at 10am.

DH is pretty fit he used to play a lot of football when he was younger. He was even "scouted" by some Scottish team. I could have been a WAG Of course all this happened when he was much younger early 20's before I knew him.

Anyone got Sky? I have discovered a baby channel DD is hooked. Supposed to be like the baby einstein things you buy. Channel 623.

My Dh texted earlier "Happy Wedding anniversary, miss you etc etc" Oops did not even realise it was our anniversary

DD now getting bored must go and run bath etc. Hopefully she will go down ok tonight and no repeat of yesterday eve...

Housemum · 12/08/2008 18:11

Latrucha - I think M&S have some cuties too! here and here - oh, hold on that's the cute girls not the cute clothes

LaTrucha · 12/08/2008 18:18

Very cute!

Housemum · 12/08/2008 18:33

Anyone else think they should have named their LO Houdini? She now escapes her playnest/inflatable ring thing - this morning she was sitting in it whilst I was changing the bedclothes - looked over and she's leaning over the top and heaving her way out - she gently rolled onto the floor and gave me the hugest grin!

LaTrucha · 12/08/2008 19:15

Well! Sabela has had her first trip to the swimming pool, her first proper chewy food AND she can now sit unsupported. What a day!

We've been watching all the videao of her since she was born. Very emotional!

Housemum - I think she'll be doing more and more escape acts now!

lilyloo · 12/08/2008 19:49

Housemum we never got to use that as dd has such mahoosive thighs she could just dig them in and propel herself over the side

Now you need to find something more containing

Just gave my sis back her rocking swing she lent me as dd no longer uses it. She also had shepards pie with us for tea. So will be getting rid of blender too!
They are growing up so quickly!

Simspon know what you mean i have found it so easy without ds here too and he is 6 I think it's the arguing that is a nightmare and luckily dd's can't do that yet won't be long though !

OP posts:
simpson · 12/08/2008 20:04

Lilyloo - its the "I want a hug" whenever I feed DD that i find annoying. DD was in bed by 6.15 this evening and I didn't know what to do with myself

On the finger food front DD has not got the hang of it at all yet but will keep trying.

Some bloke outside Mcdonalds gave us a balloon today and it has kept DD entertained ALL day

The only movement we have had is lots of rolling but then she squeaks as she can't get back onto her tummy.

LuckySalem · 12/08/2008 21:10

What a crap night last night.

DD woke at 11:45pm and wouldn't go back to sleep till 1:30am, back up at 6:30.... [yawn]

Ahh well hopefully she'll sleep normally again today.

DD's fave finger food is rusks at the mo, she has one every other day at 4.

madmouse · 12/08/2008 21:24

Birmingham meetup ladies has none of you noticed that I have stitched us up with a bank holiday monday or do you not mind? If you do who can do the Friday after?

simpson I have just bought a pack of balloons today as we discovered the therapeutic value, ie Nathan gets so excited when he sees one that he reaches out with both hands.

Rubbish night here. Nathan was constipated I think (not anymore, blardy heck that was an adult sample )and kept waking in the evening, slept from 1 till 4.30 and messed about from then on, waking sleeping, whining, crying. Bought a lampshade for his nursery today, he is moving out!

Had surreal moment where I said to no one in particular at 7am when Nathan woke again ' I cannot do it anymore I am not getting up'. Only to see dh grab his pillow and go to spare room for more kip. What! I banged the door shut after him. Turned out he had not heard me at all, and immediately took care of Nathan

madmouse · 12/08/2008 21:27

Lucky Nathan liked rusk at music class (they do refreshments after) but I cannot find any that are not full of sugar. Any ideas?

He is finally upping his quantity, eating at least twice as much as a few weeks ago.
