Bluebell lots of hugs for you

what an impossible situation. don't let go of your dh, that will really not make things better.

I think a total break from her for one month will do the trick or at least give you a break.

I would suggest asking your cpn to go round and talk sesne into her, but that will just give her more stupid ammo to tell her mates that you are mentally not there or whatever she says.

hang in there, and tell dh, doctor and cpn exactly how you feel at all times, before certain nasty and paranoid thoughts become 'reality' in your head (common in depression, dh always believed that he was being 'very realistic' when he said he was a bad husband and father)

It will get better

LuckySalem · 06/08/2008 15:39

Bluebell - I am reading your thread but from your first posts I'd just say. Cut her out for a while till you can recover. Get your DH to take DD round so you don't have to deal with her and make sure you tell him not to leave DD alone. (if that makes you feel better)
You deserve as much sympathy and support you can get and the hospital needs a very strongly worded letter.

Kelix · 06/08/2008 16:01

Morning all

Lilyloo - Great pics! LOL at DD was upset when she realised it wasnt permenant Didnt know you lives close by me. Just presumed everyone lived miles away.

Barristermum - Glad yur enjoying being back at work. I think if you find childcare that the LO enjoys thats half the battle. I wont be returning to work straight away but am looking for something part time just to keep a little cash coming in. I had a look at your pics too and your DD is beautiful

Simpson - Fingers crossed the weather holds out today, it isnt so great here - very drizzly. Also fingers (& toes) crossed that DS managed to hold out whilst on trampoline We have screecher here this morning too. Although I think I prefer that to the other night when I was watching corrie and Im sure she said 'Audry' Oh can def reccomend cream cheese for LO. My DD loves it.

Ginegme - Hope the journey goes OK today. Bet you will be sad to see the big boys leave but also a little pleased to get back your own space? Great pics too - lobe the one of you all. Surprised you managed to get everyone to sit still long enough lol

Mrsmc - Had the same here with DD (not drinking much milk) she is FF and had 1 ounce before bed (usually has 8!) this had heppened for the last few nights (and days tbh) but we had a bit of a breakthrough this morning and she drank the whole 8 ounces. I think if they are eating youghurts/cheese etc then its not too much of a worry.

Nicky6 - Hope you have a nice day with your Mum Glad work went OK. Lucky you with tea on table and sleeping LO when you got back!

LaTrucha - Tell me about gas & electricity bills - not good! Great pics BTW The one in the bouncer is great - lovely big smile

JKS - Great pics too LOL at DS1 in babywalker.

Isabellasmum - Good luck narrowing down photo collection. We not had prefessional pics done for a while but I am the worlds worst for taking pictures of DD. Got hundreds already (on digital camera) and I hate deleting any! Great pics on profile BTW. Bet you get loads of comments about her hair. Its lovely.

Betterhalf - Projectile vomit into hair, good shot

Madmouse - Nathan is georgeous (been looking at lots of profile pics today). Sure he will work out where that sppon goes soon - will still make just as much mess tho

Rockdoctor - am thinking of having a thanksgiving too. Either that or a naming ceramony. Not sure which?

Housemum - Great pics too (so many loveley babies born in Jan ) love the modelling ones. Think that green fella on your profile pic would struggle to get glasses to fit tho lol

Apolagies to anyone I have missed, I did start writing this post this morning but got a litle distracted (hence opening of goodmorning all) so if I have missed anything since then I will catch up later.

Bye for now

gingeme · 06/08/2008 17:26

Ah peace has been resumed and we can see the floor in the boys room now all the spare beds have been put away.
Re the Chessington pic we had to take 5 because ds4 wasn't happy about sitting for it. The beauty of digital cameras
Sorry for no personals but my head doesn't work at the minute in fact I have a horrible headache now
I'll try to pop by later and have a proper catch up.
xx

simpson · 06/08/2008 18:57

Hi all

Had a fab day today and DS had no accidents and went and used loo 3 times while we were there. The weather held out too

DD has only had 14 ozs today but I had the thought of changing her teats today (cheers Bluebell ) as she is still on medium flow ones. The only problem with not having much milk is she seems quite constipated am offering her water though. Toast need not go down well this morning at all but she managed a breadstick instead!!

Bluebell - sorry you have still having a bad time with MIL. My MIL is very toxic and controlling over DS (does not give a s**t about DD as she's only a girl [grr] )but she is nowhere near as bad as yours. Would deffo create as much space as you can between her and you. I am lucky my MIL lives in Ireland.

madmouse · 06/08/2008 19:37

dh went to the local family centre for drop-in play time (in professional capacity)and wanted to take Nathan as conversation opener and I decided to stay home, which is new (lo and i tend to be a bit joined at the hip ). I really enjoyed 1.5 hous on my own at home and Nathan had a ball with daddy, not a single tear. Feel ridiculously chuffed, also because in that time i fixed the car key remote control thingie which had stopped working, making it necessary to dive into the car to insert key and disarm alarm, a pain with a wrigglebottom on your arm. Nice man from the dealer on the phone said the handbook would tell me how to reprogram the key which he thought was the problem. I normally leave that sort of thing to dh, but I managed [ridiculously proud emoticon] I need to get a life.

I started this post before dinner so sorry if i missed you

Housemum · 06/08/2008 20:15

Bluebell - at your MIL!! As Simpson says you need to create space between you - v hard but you need to get DH on side - what happens when she says stuff in front of him? Does he notice and if so does he leave you to deal with it? Perhaps devise a "look" you can give him which means, "I'm not happy so you say something NOW"

LuckySalem · 06/08/2008 21:00

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say I found my what to expect (the first year) book. Thought you might like to see the development parts of it.

By 6 months your baby should be able to.....

  • Keep head level when pulled to sitting.
  • say 'ah-goo' or similar vowel-consonent combinations. ..... will probably be able to......
  • bear some weight on legs when held upright
  • sit without support
  • turn in the direction of a voice
  • blow raspberries ..... may possibly be able to.....
  • object if you try to take a toy away
  • work to get toy that's out of reach
  • pass a cube or other object from hand to hand.
  • look for dropped objects
  • rake with fingers a tiny object and pick it up in a fist
  • babble, combining vowels and consonents such as gagagaga babababa mamama dadadada
  • Feed self cracker or other finger food. ..... may even be able to......
  • creep or crawl (babies who spend little time on their stomach may take longer to reach this and other milestones like it and its not a cause for concern)
  • pull to standing from sitting
  • get into a sitting position from stomach
  • pick up tiny objects with thumb and finger
  • say mama or dada indescriminantly.

Hope this doesn't make anyone else fret more.

Aaliyah has found a new game to play... lol.. She now can pull herself to standing holding onto our shirts if we don't pick her up quick enough. It's quite funny but scary too if your not ready for it.

simpson · 06/08/2008 22:30

Hi where is everyone??

LOL Lucky at your DD's new game

Does anyone have a bumbo?

Put DD in one today at friends house and she LOVED it. You could see in her little face she was all chuffed at sitting with no help from me. Awwwwww

Mothercare have got them on sale. The blue one is only £20. I have got some training pants worth £7 DS never used so might exchange...

gingeme · 06/08/2008 22:31

George does all of these things

Housemum · 07/08/2008 00:11

Simpson - Amelie escaped her bumbo yesterday - I got mine on eBay, £18 inc postage. She was sat in it, while I read DD2 a story - she fancied whatever toy was on the floor and stretched so far she "crawled" out of it (ie she didn't fall out, she was chuffed to bits that she was out!) - so may have limited lifespan. PITA actually as I was using it to sit her in bathroom so I could have shower first thing - will have to put her in cot or playpen instead, but means she isn't in same room so I won't hear if she yells.

Isabellasmam · 07/08/2008 07:47

Morning all

Barristermum - dont know how I am going to chose from these photos, every single one is beautiful. Good job its hubbies pay day tomorrow.

LS - thanks for the milestones, dd hates being on her belly so no where near crawling or sitting up from lying down but can sit unsupported, pick thinks up and throw them and is blowing rasberries as i type.

All - went to see Mama mia last night with my dm, ds and dgm, and have to say that it was the best film I've seen for a long time (probably because it is the only film I've seen in a long time), but well worth a trip if you can get. dh coped well on his own so may have to arrange more nights out

Isabellasmam · 07/08/2008 07:50

Oh forgot to mention - if anyone has laminate flooring and are worried that its too hard for babs to lie/crawl/roll on than invest in some foamy jogsaw alphabet tiles. I just got some off ebay for £19 and they cover my entire sitting room floor and they're really soft and comfy plus educational.

simpson · 07/08/2008 09:02

Cheers for tip housemum!! Want to buy it for holiday really so even if it only lasts for 2 weeks in Holland and a week in Ireland I will be happy If they have it in stock will cost me £13!! DD nowhere near moving or reaching out for things she has just worked out how to get toy from one hand to the other and to her mouth

DD is still asleep upstairs!! She woke at 6.30 for bottle (had 5ozs!! A lot of her) And has been asleep ever since.

Got RL friend round this morning and spending our £50 worth of M & S vouchers on clothes for myself for DD's christening.

LaTrucha · 07/08/2008 11:46

Hi all-

Simpson - enjoy the shoppping! - and the sleeping - !
Well done on Potty.

Housemum - at bumbo!

Isabellasmum - Hello!

Keix - great catch up

MrsMc - We'll be in Cartagena near ALicante for 6 months next year.

MM - Agree on independence. I left Sabela for three hours with DH the other day. There were no disasters!

Gingeme - enjoy the peace - with three LOs? ARe you sure?

Bluebell - Your MIL is a nightmare. I second call screenign etc but I knwo that all these things can be easier said than done.

Sleep showing some improvement but DD is hooting at me from her highchair so better go!

Housemum · 07/08/2008 12:33

isabellasmum - good idea hadn't thought about yhose - i bought couple of cheap yoga mats (the "grippy" sort) from t k maxx

lilyloo · 07/08/2008 14:12

Afternoon all

Anyone been camping with their lo ?
Our friends , no dc's, have a spare tent and wondered if we fancied going for the weekend ?

Am i mad to consider it ?

I fancied a bumbo but now seems a bit late!
Anyone any reccomendations for a good toy for lo's. DD got over £100 from her christening and would like to treat her as she has had lot's of hand me downs but not sure what to get and want to be able to use it for a while!

madmouse · 07/08/2008 14:25

When I have a shower I put Nathan on a mat or blanket on the bathroom floor with some toys. First on his tummy, then he will roll over and grin at me through the steamed glass of the cubicle, then by the time he works his way off the blanket I am out of the shower.

And you can get too hung up about little ones crying in their cots for a few minutes if they are otherwise well cared for and just want to be entertained [harsh mummy emoticon]

We have laminate flooring all over the house and Nathan has his own (generous) play corner covered by a play rug from Ikea. It cost £7 or so and is about 3.5 by 3.5ft with a street network on it and all sorts of things to look at. It is non slip too and works very well for us.

Oh boy does my little man love swimming . he was happy in the water last week even with what turned out to be an ear infection, this week he was so happy he drew everyone's attention by shouting ah ah ah while splitting his face with a huge grin and kicking like mad. It really relaxes his right hand which is often in a tight fist. He is zonked out now though. He did not eat much lunch, too tired. Had a big breastfeed instead .

madmouse · 07/08/2008 14:30

Lily, I have camped since before I could walk (it was the only way my parents could afford to take us on holiday - so from Holland we went into belgium, Luxemburg, France, Germany, Austria) and I would love to go camping with Nathan but dh is a bit daunted.

Are you experienced campers? If not do practice with the tent before you go. Make sure to keep little ones warm at night and just relax, nappy changes in the grass, rolling about on a blanket, getting mucky. Aww, I want to go too . Well we are going in a cottage next week so no complaining (the price is a bit of a shock when you are used to comaping

madmouse · 07/08/2008 14:30

camping even

LaTrucha · 07/08/2008 15:49

On the same lines as lily's question, what games are your dcs loving at the moment?

lilyloo · 07/08/2008 15:50

Def not seasoned campers!
I ahve only ever been once before as a kid to France.
My friends would come with us though and it is there tent so don't have to worry bout putting it up!
Just not sure if i am cut out for camping or how dd would fare as she is still waking 3 + times a night!

HI everyone hope you are all well

Just been to Morrisons with DD, my cousin and her DS. Was good fun - eating mash and fishfingers in cafe then pushing them both round in a double trolley. Had a few whinges but overall was a sucessful days shopping.

Toys - My DD has a V-Tech Grown and go thingy which she is playing with now. It can be used on the floor whilst they are still babies then has a seated height IYKWIM for when they can sit unsupported (or in bumbo) then turns into a walker when they are older still. Only pais about £22 for it from Woolworths which I thought was a bargin as it will last so long! It plays songs, teaches colours, animals and numbers. Also lots of flashing lights which DD really likes! Apart from that its mostly rattles at the moment. She has a buiscuit barrel shape sorter thing that plays music aswel but I think she will enjoy that more when a little older.

Bubmo - My DD loves hers although is making attemps to escape now She hasnt managed it yet tho, but I dont think it will be long. Would def reccomend tho, its been a lifesaver on more than one occasion when I had to answer the door/go for a quick wee etc

MIL - Sorry to those having trouble with MILS Mine is OK. PIL go away for 3 months of the year every year so not seen DD since she was 3/4 months. I think they will be in for a shock by how much she has grown when they get back!

Development - My DD can do preety much all of those things - Rasberrys are her fave ATM She isnt fully crawling yet but its not through lack of trying! Im not in too much of a rush for her to start crawling tho although am looking forward to loosing a few pounds chasing her round all day

Camping - AM thinking of taking DD on her first camping trip soon. I think it would be OK as long as the weather holds and they are kept nice and warm. Love camping used to go fairly often with my ex. Not been with DP yet but he is keen. My plan is not to go too far away so if its a complete nightmare we can just pack up and come home

Games - DD just learnt the 'Im going to chuck this bottle/dummy/toy on the floor and Mummy is going to pick it up' game. Is such goog fun (not).

Oh well best go start getting tea ready. DD had fish fingers today for the first time (I took the breadcrums off) and she seemed to really enjoy them. Not sure what to give for tea tho??

Bye for now

bluebell82 · 07/08/2008 16:18
