keep an eye out on the askamum forum. holly tested travel systems for the awards last year and gave us all the heads up when it came round again this year......sometime in Feb we all filled out the forms.

But they want testers for all sorts throughout the year so worth keeping an eye on it.

holly usually gives us regular bulletins as she is the queen of testing

DD has just hit herself in the face with the telephone...for the third time in 10 minutes....do they never learn?

lackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2008 11:09

oops, came over a bit master yoda there

It's for mother and baby by the way.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 09/07/2008 11:11

PMSL

of course natty I can only advise you as a fledgling nappy advisor and can't tell you about any of the recent nappies i have been using

i'll email you or fb you though! do you want all in ones, pockets or two parters?

there is someone selling some bumgenius on ebay 15 of them for buy it now of £69 whcih ios pretty good (the add said new, but I'd email her to check as people say that so their add doesn't get pulled). No inserts but you could use the smart nappy inserts you have. They are also birth to potty so the baby could use them too when he or she arrives! i'll find a link to the add later for you

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/07/2008 11:20

I'll give you a heads up next time I get wind of some testing in the pipeline natty. I don't think there'll be anything big for a while now as I know M&B have just done trave systems, prams and car seats and are currently doing the awards. I posted a link to a company that sends out toiletries and make up earlier. They are quite good and send stuff out very regularly.

The bath was a success ! My bathroom now resembles a swimming pool! I'll clean it up once I've taken dd to preschool. Hopefully ds will fall asleep in the pushchairs and I'll get a bit of time to myself!!

MHC, you could come and stay with me if you want. I am about an hour away from London (South), but it would be closer than you are right now!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 09/07/2008 11:22

Right, I'm switching the computer off until this evening now...MUST DO HOUSEWORK!!

Byeee!!

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 09/07/2008 11:23

thats a good idea. how low rise are they tho, thats a problem with ellen she has a long gap between her belly button and her minnie...

OP posts:
lackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2008 11:50

they aren't too low natty.....they come up to DD's tummy button but she is quite dinky.

listing here. I'd email her though as it says 15 but the picture only shows 12 and there are what look like the same nappies (same pic anyway) on another listing ending later today that is currently at £60.

these are the verion 2 ones so probably why cheap as there is a new verion out. I have a couple of the V2s though and i think fury and possibly mhc have used them too. I love em.

NattyEcoWarriorPrincess · 09/07/2008 12:12

okay will keep an eye on them then!
weather is crap isnt it

wool and silk pocket nappies sound lush mhc

DKMA · 09/07/2008 12:52

I didn't make it to Birmingham
Lo was sick again in the night and is not himself. We've been to the Dr's and it seems he has a tummy bug
He's very sleepy - he's only had 2 bottles of formula today (no food yet) and has been asleep for ages - I don't know if I should wake him up to give him more fluids - or just wait for him to wake up?

Dh will be coming home early today as I need to get down to Luton - I don't want to go but there is a £1500 cancellation fee if I don't attend this course . Dh will stay at home with him tomorrow too.

LittleMissNorty · 09/07/2008 13:01

DKMA - poor DS.....When DD is like this I just let her sleep - they must need it. Hope he feels better soon.....has he got it both ends, so to speak?

I know the work thing as well.....its SO hard making that decision....but DH and I also take it in turns or sort it out between us if I have work I can't ignore.....once he went to work for the morning and I went in for the afternoon as I had patients waiting for results.....it is hard but what can you do...he'll be fine with his daddy....x

Have you tried the youth hostel association?

justRia · 09/07/2008 16:14

Hi. sorry for the illnesses.

I have been feeling really ill today (icky tummy, headache and dizzy) so went beck to bed after the DCs went to school. I got up and had a bath at lunchtime and despite me feeling not well enough to get dressed DH decided he was too ill to go and sell raffle tickets at the school play soI had to go. Twunt is not a strong enough word. He has gone to bed now I'm back and we have to go to secondary school tonight for a parents meeting. I am NOT going on my own.

DS1 was brilliant though, and looked great in his costume. ANd he passed his cycling awareness test with full marks.

lackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2008 16:16

mhc, that's the sort of reviews i found when I was looking!

didn't fairy say she had a spare bed?

I got my Usbourne Books starter pack today, so I'm officially a WAHM . Am going to try and make a go of it, but not sure if I can earn too much whilst on maternity leave. I can't find any information about it either. Of course in hindsight I should have got DH to register in his name, but then me just do all the selling etc......silly lady that I am.

Should really take out an ad...so ...if anyone wants to order any books........

lackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2008 16:20

yay for the play and the proficiency test Ria...but bugger at your DH for organising things and then asking you to do them.

DS is in trouble . He refused to do as his phonics teacher asked him today and had to be sent out of the room. Then once out there he refused to go back to his own classroom. His phonics teacher (and his regular teacher) were "very disappointed".

how is your DS1 getting on; have the bullying issues all resolved themsleves.

I think it's still there daisy. He came home from cycling in tears last week because of theboy in question, but said boy seems to run hot and cold. Children are evil beings.

I expect your DS felt he had good reason for what he did. IMO schools are so ready to "correct" behaviour that some kids hardly have to do anything before they're in trouble (my DS1 for one) and then there's others that do far worse ...

justRia · 09/07/2008 16:27

I don't know whether to go and see the play again on Friday (that's when my tickets are for) or make DH go.

Usbourne books sounds interesting daisy. will you be doing schools fayres and stuff?

justRia · 09/07/2008 16:29

Right, I'm off to sort out my children and seeth inwardly at DH. He'd better bloody pull himself together later. My patience is wearing thin now. Think I will go to DMs for some extra sympathy once the Dcs are asleep as I'm not sitting here listening to him breathing again

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/07/2008 16:31

Huzzah for cycling and play, Ria.

lackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2008 16:34

hopefully Ria...I'll need to if I want to amke serious money at it. But, I can't log into the website to check whether DS's school is already covered by someone. I asked at the new children's centre, but the woman who recruited me has got in there already [grr]

lackaDAISYcal · 09/07/2008 16:35

DS is so busy reading through all the books in the starter pack that he has forgotten I'm not meant to be on here
