arse.

Dh is being a twunt about money. I want to get this blanket for the new baby; made by one of the women on my November thread, as it's gorgeous and lovely and I wan;t this baby to have something that belongs to him and him alone; and I've just had a lecture from DH about how he can't get into any more debt....no we, no us...farking him! and this is from my paypal account which is funded from stuff that I am selling to make some money, whereas he is givng stuff away to charity shops. I'm doing the weekly shop in lidl and aldi; I'm selling these books to bring in some extra and want to get the nappy business up and running as soon as possible, not to mention the fact that I'm still getting paid, so I have more coming in that we had originally budgetted for, and I'll sell the "other" nappies as well. Not sure what else I can do short of selling my body (although I'm sure some men might go for that!)

I knew our little happy bubble couldn't bloody well last.

foxythesnowfox · 12/07/2008 20:37

that is a lovely blanket. Can't see a price on the website. How much is it? A couple of hundred quid?

Perhaps he's just having a wee panic?

Why are you even discussing what you are buying anyway?

LackaDAISYcal · 12/07/2008 21:16

lol foxy....I know, we don't even have a joint bank account so it;s my fecking money anyway....technically . And they are only £25 which I thought is a good price for a nicely hand crafted blanket plus a wee toy. We had a chat, I think the burden of being sole breadwinner is starting to weigh heavy, given the economic situation, and the way things are with his company's only main client!

How was the birthday today? was she excited about things? or did the big ones get more of a buzz?

LittleMissNorty · 12/07/2008 21:50

Is everyone having a RL?

I paid £18.99 for a pizza tonight and have just spewed it all back up

We decorated our bedroom today and DH thought he's lift the floorboards and install new plug sockets.....and then drilled through and fractured a water pipe....so we have no hot water.....and have to lift carpet in 2 rooms tomorrow to mend said pipe which is broken between the wall of 2 bedrooms

We've had a great day....

foxythesnowfox · 12/07/2008 22:03

Oh shit Norty

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone! I think DD2 had a lovely day. She's really come into her own lately. Found her voice and is really showing her personality. She has the same squeeky voice and tinkling laugh as DD1 - exactly the same. I didn't want her to go to bed tonight, just wanted to hang out with her. But then she started nicking my naan bread so had to go

All a bit tired after the early start to the day so we had a wee birthday tea and birthday cake. They all enjoyed it, and she loved the chocolate cake

I've been searching for a Wii & Wii fit on t'internet tonight. DP obviously feeling either guilty or loved up as he's said I can get one. Can't find a deal good enough yet though.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/07/2008 22:10

oh buggery fuck norty. I hope things haven't gotten too wet. You'll be covered on your insurance though?

I'm finally getting round to checking my draft auctions and getting them live.

And my first foray into ebay selling has been a bit of a disaster, as I set the auction to start.....next Thursday, not Thurday gone and a 10 day listing so we'll be on holiday when it ends . I hope I can change it!

foxythesnowfox · 12/07/2008 22:17

Dur Daisy!

Never mind, surely if its not 'live' you can change it?

LittleMissNorty · 12/07/2008 22:18

Ahhhh just one of those things.....not too wet as it just drained the heating system....will be done in the morning! So no damage hopefully! Just could've done without it!

Glad DD2 had a good birthday Foxy....my DD likes chocolate as well

Right, off to bed....got blardy indigestion now

Night all x

LackaDAISYcal · 12/07/2008 23:12

My DD would crawl over hot coals for chocolate, and has been known to try and prise DS and my teeth apaprt to get at it! I blame the huge bars of galaxy and magnum ice-creams I scoffed on a daily basis when pregnant.

I've got indigestion as well Norty...and the liquid gaviscon I got from the doc is just too too disgusting for words. I literally can't swallow it as I just gag . Must get some tablets instead.

Yay.....nappies are all live. Here's hoping that they actually sell

justRia · 12/07/2008 23:55

just buy the blanket daisy and tell him your lovely friends on MN bought you it (that's what my DH would do). It's the other way round in our house, I am and forever have been uptight about money, or more to the point our complete lack of it.

We went to the foresty today, minus big sis & family. I burst into tears this morning as I just can't cope with the friction of trying to get the 4 families together in the same place at the same time. I just hope BIL hasn't been stirring it/doesn't ring up tomorrow to bollock us all for "leaving them out". (Dsis wouldn't come because it was raining.) We had a nice walk and two picnics, and played cricket. My DS1 got me out for a duck

Sorry you've had a stressful day and didn't get full value out of your pizza norty, glad you had a nice day foxy. Hi JBM. I need a good, cheap deal on a trike.

DH has finally got his replacement credit card today as the company have finally agreed that it was fradulently used on an "adult service" (three transactions while his card has been frozen on sickness relief or whatever it is, so obviously not him. We only use it on ebay - I can get some new crocs at last)

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2008 12:06

glad you had a nice time yesterday Ria....don't worry about your big sis (if she is a wimp in the rain, tis her problem entirely) and if your BIL calls tell him to bugger off and try communicating with his wife for a bit!

Glad you and your other sis are getting on well

It's sunny here today. We are trying to find my MS office disc that has gone AWOL as I need the product code to get it working properly on my laptop and DH wants it on his new (yup he can spend £300, but grudges £25 for a baby blanket!) EeeePC. Can't find it anywhere, but it is here somewhere (hopes she hasn;t chucked it out by mistake) then a bit of tidying up and then the garden is beckoning. The weeds are taking over the veg patch!

Hope you are all out enjoying the sunshine.

Later.....

that's good to know PoP. Any top tips for getting one cheap? I'm currently watching a Wii Fit on Telebid.com. Its an auction site, but when someone bids in the last few seconds another 20 seconds is added. Its a bit like the frenzy of the closing minutes on ebay when suddenly you are paying £20 for a crappy knackered Buzz Lightyear, and your adrenalin is pumping and you HAVE TO WIN - but ongoing.

Or is that just me?

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2008 14:26

he wants OneNote PoP, and that and then be able to transfer it to his work laptop.....and also so that he doesn have to trail his heavy laptop around...bless him he needs more spinach

all of the above being excuses to get a new gadget as he doesn't actually need it....whereas my old laptop was on its last legs (she says desperately justifying her own recent gadget purchase )

I've bought the blanket now anyway....told him it's coming out of my nappy sales that I have already made...£26 to be exact. That shut him up!

but....we found the disc. After tearing the house apart and sifting through boxes and boxes of stuff, it had fallen down the back of the shelves and was behind a picture frame that was leaning against the wall (as I suggested it might be over 2 hours ago and he said no it wasn't)

So, house definately in full on bomb-struck mode and DD is awake and making even more mess......aaaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!

Good luck with the Wii foxy. I've had a go on my sisters and it's great fun....but DH says "NO".... I'm beginning to realise what a life as a SAHM is all about!

my plan was to get it for all of us Christmas - and the LOs would all be getting a bike for their birthdays (see how I can justify it? ) as two have a birthday just before, and one just after Christmas.

But I am impatient and I want a WF NOW!

justRia · 13/07/2008 15:56

Just got back from a party at a farm park - DS2s second party. I stayed today as I took baggins aswell. He enjoyed it. And it didn't cost anything because the lovely farm park allow one extra adult per child at parties and baggind was free And the sun was shining. I like days out like that.

But I have come home to friction as I sent DH a text suggesing a BBQ which he loves a nd he has prepared toad in the hole and veg (I don't even like toad in the hole but daren't tell him

dsis's are together today. and we weren't invited, tis very silly.

Hi all. Back from a long weekend with my ILs. Was nice. Will be doing bedtime soon, then will try to catch up. Back later.

justRia · 13/07/2008 19:02

Hi jammy, glad you had a good time.

Not sure why the weirdness is occuring PoP. Maybe a bit of jealously as bigsis works 4 days a week and lives 20 mins away, I'm here all day 2 mins away. She didn't come on Firday night becaue it rained and she wanted to go to the beach near her house, which meant 2 car loads from here having to drive there. She was sulking yesterday because normally she & I go to an annual event that was on yesterday (becaue there is nothing better to do), because of the weather she wanted to go to the cinema in her town rather than travel over here to go on the day out. Her DH is very abrasive and thinks nothing of causing a massive upset within our family. It's stupid because no one wants anyone to miss out, but we all have to put the effort in. The other dsis is going away with DM&F tomorrow for a few days, so that wil put an end to some of it!

I'm off visiting now in the hope that DS2 will stop singing songs from DS1s school show.

Well done on the walking BTW.

justRia · 13/07/2008 19:03

and then there's her diet medication, but that's a whole other bugbear
