HOLLY Big thank you for introducing me to the Virgin Vie site. Got all my teachers pressies from the sale - and very impressive they are too (especially the bracelets for a fiver!)

See? I'm here talking to myself and everything is going tits up around me

I'm off, will lurk from time to time.

Sputnik · 11/07/2008 14:11

Hey Foxy, happy birthday to the foxcub for tomorrow, and happy birthday to JBM's DD and Annobal's DS for yesterday.

Holly, we are on the why, where, who, what stage, it is driving me nuts. They are always the same questions too.

Did some more house hunting yesterday and found a place that would be perfect for us but maybe too expensive. We are trying to work out how much we can scrape together.

andiem · 11/07/2008 14:51

sputnik that sounds so exciting I love house hunting

we complete on our place in bournemouth next weekend so we will be able to do our seaside weekends

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 15:29

hi foxy....bye foxy...and big birthday wishes for foxcub4 tomorrow . don't be a stranger!

but, bumper....you lot are my only friends

actually had RL friend round who has been hiding out here whilst her new flooring gets laid. We have had a lovely time chatting and drinking cups of tea and laughing about the arranged marriage between DD and her DS. Her little boy has been kissing and trying to cuddle DD, and he slapped her on the bottom as she crawled past. Looks like our plan is coming to fruition already

fingers crossed with the house sputnik....and good luck for your completion andie. house buying in England is so much more fraught than Scotland...at least in Scotland once the offer has been accepted it's a legally binding contract so less dropping out at the last minute (mind you getting the offer in and accepted is more fraught up there).

Living room is like an explosion in a toy shop....i am rationalising the toy box and putting away the little baby stuff for the moment. We have too much crap, tis official.

Gotta go, my boys are home

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/07/2008 17:13

What a fucking day! I feel like I'm wading through treacle! Ds didn't go to sleep until gone midnight last night and was up at 6.30 ! I think I need to explain the importance of sleep to that child!!

Happy birthday to foxcub for tomorrow! I'll miss you not being around so much foxy , but I completely understand your motives for staying away. I would be so much more productive if MN wasn't around (but probably much more lonely and sad as well)!

Sputnik, hope the house hunting works out for you and andie, hope the completion goes ok.

Ds just poured hot tea all down himself. I was trying to stop him from eating some of dd's toys and he turned around whilst I was picking them up, grabbed my tea and tipped it all over his front! It was freshly made, so was boiling hot. He has a bit of a red patch, but it is fading. I put cold flannels on it and that seems to have done the trick. He isn't bothered by it, so I think he's ok.

PMSL at you using my toddler large baby as an example daisy!! I guess you meant me anyway! I always refer to you lot as my friends in RL. I just don't tell people that you are my internet friends! I don't want to seem like a sad loner who lives in a virtual world!!

I spoke to one of the ladies running my ps course today (who is also an NCT BFC) about becoming a BFC. She seemed really keen and gave me the numbers of the people to phone. She is a very senior BFC (has been doing it for 18 years!!) and said they are quite desperate for BFCs in this area and that the NCT would snap me up! She has obviously seen over the weeks how keen I am and how much I read on the subject!! I am going to get the wheels in motion on Monday, I am already chomping at the bit to get started. I neeeeed something to get my mind working!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 17:22

yup, twas you holly

although my old bosses wife also gave birth to 2 boys over 11 lbs each and BF each of them successfully.

Waiting for the takeaway to come back with the boys...am starving.

....and still no FT nappies . I hope they don't decide not to bother and leave me out of the test; those were the ones I was most interested in!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 17:23

and hope you have a better night tonight.

...gina ford

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/07/2008 17:26

Those nappies look fab daisy, hope they come. I saw a full page ad for them in M&B mag, they look v BGish!

Dp has taken dd to London with him to get his ds2 (the only one who comes any more). My house is very quiet. Maybe I'll fit in a snooze after dinner!

The bfc said that it was a fab course, but that you find out a lot about yourself and there are often a few tears involved!! Are you doing it over 2 or 3 years MHC? How are you finding the workload?

Sputnik, how long has your dd been doing the question thing for? My dd has been doing it for a good few months now and it is sending me crazy. It would be ok if it was a different question every time, but it is the same ones over and over! She has been a real sweetie today though, so I'll let her off !

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 18:43

I'm still waiting for the info from the ABM about the next stage of my course (have emailed them three times since becoming a member to tell them that and ask for the information ) and am getting fed up waiting. I think I might apply for the NCT one. I don't think the ABM one gives you an actual qualification, unlike the NCT.

holly....DS still does the 20 question routine! But at least it's only on the walk to and from school now so not too bad.

DH is dealing with the DCs...it's funny sitting here watching him; I'm fighting the urge to say "give her here and let me do it fgs"

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/07/2008 18:51

That's a bit shit daisy. From what I can gather the NCT course is more of a local thing which you arrange through your local NCT and tutor. They then fund the course for you as long as you work for them afterwards. All you need to do to get started is get in touch with the person running the NCT in your area. I did have all the info in an email, but I seem to have deleted it (doh!).

Was you ps training with the ABM then? Mine was with the NHS. I was hoping to start a little bfing group round here as there is nothing, but it is such a faff to get funding. We don't qualify for help from the council as it is not an area of social deprivation. Apparently only socially deprived mothers have trouble bfing !

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 11/07/2008 18:58

Well MHC, my dp is going to have a bit of a shock because he will have to help A LOT more! I think he will though (hopefully). How long do you think it'll take you to finish?

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 19:10

the ps was with a local organisation called Breast Buddies (I know, cheesy name) but the facilitator was from the ABM. she is supposed to be emailing me the coursework for translating this into an ABM mother supporter (their ps I suppose) and then I was going to do the full BFC....also takes about 2-3 years to complete.
