tbh daisy I don't think she was someone who would be willing to listen

hi ria

justRia · 10/07/2008 21:40

what did you do daisy?

lackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2008 21:42

I'm pretty sure the foxcub is the 12th....or maybe the 14th.

I'm not suer I like this inspector...the last one was much better; she is just nippy.

DS shouts at DD as well andie. I keep telling him that it's not his job to tell her off. He also picks ger up under the arms and marches her away from things, which sets her off screaming in frustration, which makes me tell him off, which sets him off crying, which, in turn, sets me off bloody crying.

I neeeeeeeed a break. DH will disagree, but two fecking hours spent in Matalan and Lidl does not constitute a break. I think I might book in for a spa or something. some friends are going to the Spa in Harrogate in a couple of weeks (we used to go regualry to ladies night) but I can't as I'm pregnant, but they do massage and facials and stuff as well. I can do that while the others alternately bake and then chill themselves in the spa.

justRia · 10/07/2008 21:46

Not long til your hols daisy. Keep focussed on the sea.

Why do they deserve a hotel and I haven't got one? When I win the lottery and buy Mumsnet Villas it will be bloody clean and the food will be good...

justRia · 10/07/2008 21:47

she does have an awfully good way with words, must store away "cherry on a turd" for future use

lackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2008 21:47

oh, someone had asked about the goodnight milk, someone else came on said how fab it was. I pointed out that it was just added potato and rice starch and why not just give the baby a potato and then regular formula...(i meant more food, but she took it literally)

she then started a thread implying I'd said she was giving her baby a toxic substance and was disillusioned with MN yadda yadda yadda. All because of a (probably ) misplaced face. We kissed and made up in the end though, but I'm now very wary of saying anything even vaguely controversial.....(without someone more knowledgeable to hide behind and go "yeah what they said" )

lackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2008 21:48

Are we going to meet Ria? We can meet on the beach and we can sit and chinwag whilst our DH's entertain the children?

justRia · 10/07/2008 21:50

What dates is it again? I know you're here around the date of the christening.

lackaDAISYcal · 10/07/2008 21:59

We arrive on 25th and leave on the 1st. It's only two weeks away

justRia · 10/07/2008 22:02

sorry daisy, that's dsis' last week here.

Maybe we'll get to meet in Roundhay Park next time DH is at the hospital.

andiem · 10/07/2008 22:05

night ladees off to bed before I get woken again

justRia · 10/07/2008 22:10

think I should go too, another early start tomorrow as DS2 is going on his first ever school trip, on his first ever bus, for the whole day with a packed lunch. So I will be wired again tomorrow

annobal · 10/07/2008 23:44

Morning everyone. Happy birthday to DD JBM! Hope you had a lovely day. Think Fox cub's is tomorrow?? Catch up later when you are all awake. It's 8.15 am at the moment.

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 09:18

lol annobal...that confused me...good morning indeed at nearly midnight

DD is on her 2nd change of clothes already this morning; she climbed on the sofa and got to my (thankfully cold) cup of tea and poured it all over herself....and the sofa....and DS's toys (which he wiped clean on the only clean school t-shirt I had). I get the feeling it's going to be (another) one of those days

LittleMissNorty · 11/07/2008 09:33

Morning

Happy birthday to DD JBM....what did you get her in the end? Hope she had a good day

Found this.....Foxy's DDs birthday is tomorrow....where is Foxy recently? Are you lurking?

I went to bed at 9.30 last night, slept through to 7am and I'm still farking tired ....hormones have a lot to answer for....

LittleMissNorty · 11/07/2008 09:36

Daisy....at least the tea was cold.....we are running out of places to put things.

I'm also struggling with DD understanding when she is being told off....she just smiles sweetly and carries on....doesn't matter how loud I yell, howmany times I move her away, she still doesn't get the message.....what can I do ladies? Any ideas? Its so bloody hard not to laugh (I don't though - would just make things 10x worse)

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 09:36

Morning Norty. Sorry about the tiredness...only a few more weeks of it to got before you start feeling better

oi fox...where are you hiding? we miss you

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 09:40

smae here norty...it'll sink in eventually. she was at the cat food again yesterday. I saw her and said no and she started grabbibg handfuls as quickly as she could and throwing them in the water bowl before I could get over to her...saying nonononono all the while. I bloody well give up.

those of you with cats, what do you do? daisy has dried food and needs a lot of water and goes back and forward to it all day, so I can't really put it up anywhere. It's driving me bonkers. i think we need another gate to block off the kitchen from the diner, but not sure I can get one that is wide enough.

LittleMissNorty · 11/07/2008 09:48

Daisy, we've got stairs that go round 2 corners IYKWIM so my cat's food is on one of the landings, with a stair-gate at the bottom - to stop the dog from stuffing the food originally, and now DD as well.

I have a gate up at the kitchen instead of a door. these extend quite some way. Out French doors are in the lounge and we like to keep them open in this weather, so we bought a play pen that becomes a room divider and DH put it across the width of the doors, anchoring it onto the walls, leaving the gate by the door so we can get out, an d a gap by the cat-flap for poor old Charlie to do a quick escape!!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 09:51

right...gate ordered. enough is enough. she won't like it, but tough.

the ground floor of my house is turning into a high security installation. DS was never this much trouble!

LittleMissNorty · 11/07/2008 09:53

I also have a gate up to the dining room as thats the dogs room with water and toys in it but his water bowl is so big, she could easily drown in it. As it is, if she gets in, she likes to paddle in it so its baby-gate city in this house as well....DD stands there and screams the place down, but its just tough!

lackaDAISYcal · 11/07/2008 09:58

those are the ones we have at the top and bottom of the stairs norty.....but i ordered the metal ones by lindam as they are only £16 each. I've ordered one for the back door as well...but durr if I'm blocking the actual kitchen off, i won't need one for the door....good job they are only reserved for collection and not paid for!

not sure daisy (or DH for that matter) would like cat food on the stair....and we use the gate to keep the cat downstairs anyway, although she can get over it if she really tries. She will have to jump over this one though, poor thing.

Have you got all your tester products? One of my nappies has gone AWOL; tots pr company said it was sent out on Monday but hasn't arrived and is trying to sort out another lot for me on special delivery. I got the feeling they think I'm making it up

LittleMissNorty · 11/07/2008 10:18

Yes I am awash with highchairs....already decided which one DC2 gets

Upstairs is Charlie's domain (during the day anyway) and downstairs is the dog's...it actually doesn't get in our way, although you can hear him crunching food at 3am sometimes

Right, off out for lunch

Bumperlicious · 11/07/2008 11:19

Hi all

Happy Birthday for the one's that I have missed!

I am off to my mum's tonight so won't be around this weekend.

Daisy I had to laugh at you on that feeding a big baby thread talking about Holly, "my friend is feeding a big baby". I know we are all friends but you know that when you are on mn you can say "another mnetter" not "a friend" like in rl when you have to pretend you are not an internet weirdo! I am always saying "I know someone who..." when I am talking about a mnetter!
