just arrived home from nursery pick up & shopping, dh is up so I am off to bed

POTC, I hope today went as well as it could.

DH is doing an on call week so will be working all hours until next friday. I think I'll decamp off to my parent's house, dd is being hard work at the moment (something to do with being three I reckon - I seem to remember Luce warning me about this a few months ago ) so I think a bit of Granny & Grandad time is in order.

How is everyone else today?

I am feeling a bit down for some reason; think it is just tiredeness. B had a friend home from school and tbh it was just awful. I don't know why I keep having people over. I spend the whole time clock-watching and hoping their parents come early!

K has her first shoes! Feel awful; she had been wearing B's old ones which were a 2 1/2 E; K's feet measured 3 1/2 F! K not happy with them at all and keeps falling over herself. She had a right paddy in the shop, esp when they wanted to take her photo

Still haven't caught up yet and not a lot of time as we need to go shopping. I have been having a bit of a moan about something beastly on Am I being unreasonable though.
SOL - I can't wait for them to be picked up either. Why is it that other people's children are always a bit odd? Also re shoes - don't feel bad - B has been walking for nearly three months and I haven't been near a shoe shop! Dh home so must dash.

J has completed his Duckling Award Grade 1 for swimming this week We are so proud of him (and he keeps telling everyone he's a duck) This is such an achievment, considering a month ago he hated water.

Hopefully (depending on the weather) we're going to an "Out of the Blue" event, which all the the emergency services doing displays and things. Which the boys will love and means I can drool over men in uniform

Congrats to J Runny; what an achievement

NL, glad it isn't just me. I just hate it. As soon as they got to the car there were ructions. And the way B speaks to me is just outrageous. I know she is showing off, but I find it unacceptable. They also gang up on K as well which I find really upsetting.

Congratulations to the Duckling Runny.

Must post a pic of DH in his flight suit beside the emergency helicopter . He might be on TV in the autumn as he got filmed rescuing someone for a channel 5 documentary ("Highland Heroes" or something ridiculous like that). I'm a little concerned for the state of his ego at the moment, it's developing at an alarming rate .

NL, probably better not to have got shoes than to have bought them and still not really introduced D to wearing them after, I think, 3 weeks! If we get reasonable weather this weekend then maybe (I know that sounds odd, but if he's not been wearing them so far taking him puddle jumping in new shoes probably doesn't make much sense).

I am well which is fab. Not sure what is going on between me and dh. Why can't men just talk about things instead of bottling it up and making us feel like we have done something wrong? Getting fed up of it.

I had a lie in thankfully, as K was up between 3 and 4 which I can only think was teeth.

Looks like we are going out for lunch at our favourite Italian restaurant and I am having pizza and cake! B blurted all this out as soon as I was up! A secret is not safe with her bless her. She got up at 6.30 this morning and came downstairs and spent over an hour making me lots of cards bless her. Obv making up for her horrid behaviour yesterday.

Went to look at a school yesterday, and was told it was to full in that class to take Caitlin and Harry that they couldn't have told me that on the phone though....

Went to another school about the same distance away, who were very welcoming, and showed us round even though we just turned up there. Harry liked it but I don't really know what to think....It was incredibly laid back.....Head teacher a bit of a hippy.... they don't have a uniform, and never send any home work home.....The home work thing I actually agree with but I don't know about the uniform....I just wonder if it makes it all harder to transfer to high School?

Off to see Dancer later but apparantly no sign of any baby making yet!

Harry's new baby puppy was born this morning.....I still can't believe I have agreed to it!

Dh and I are ok again now, but I can't help wondering if there is more to life than this. My head is in the shed, I do love him very much, but I just don't feel happy atm. After the talk of ex's the other day, it made me a bit nostalgic for what could have been. Totally unrealistic as he was a git to me, but rose tinted specs and all that.

I have had a rough few months healthwise, maybe I just need to let things settle back to normal for a bit.

Anyway, I am off out tonight to see Mamma Mia with my mate. We are going to get food first, then the film so a good couple of hours of non thinking time. Just what I need.

Writing this has actually made me get things into perspective a bit. I am being a girl, nostalgic and fairy lights type thing!! Not the real past at all Funny how memories can become distorted over time!
