Not many SG, lol....I had listed them all ages ago and saved as drafts, but I've just found out that if they haven't been transferred to a proper listing in 60 days they disappear...so I have to start again. I was waiting for my scan to see whether I needed to get rid of the pink ones or not!

Bumperlicious · 23/06/2008 21:10

3 days usually SG, but all week this week.

Daisy, I think it is the best way to have the single sex as the middle child, that way DS1 is special as he is the eldest, DS2 (he he!) is special as he will be the baby and DD will be special as the only girl. It was the same with our family but the opposite way round.

DD fricking nearly pulled my nipple off tonight - owwwww!

jammy, sorry DD isn't feeding from you . I must pay more attention as I missed your post completely

Have you had a look on kellymom at the information on nursing strikes? or do you think this is her self weaning? It's a bit early for that really, but if she is used to other milk delivery sources through the day then BFing might just be too much like hard work for her.

FrazzledFairyFay · 23/06/2008 21:40

twins?, wow!

Bumperlicious · 23/06/2008 21:52

Jammy, is it her teeth?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/06/2008 22:08

You might guess from my absence this evening that it's not going well with the Jamlet. She's been crying on and off most of the evening. I'm going up when she gets really fraught - twice so far - but hoping that she'll settle herself down or wear herself out, otherwise I'd have been up there all night. I'm sure she's teething but she also seems to have a sore throat, and a rash which I suspect is viral all over body/top of legs. Poor little mite.

As for the feeding, I looked up nursing strike on Kellymom, and it said that a fright such as you reacting if they bite you can put them off. I did yelp "ouch" quite loudly on Sat when she bit me quite painfully, so it might be that. I keep offering her BF when I think she wants milk/drink but she goes mad if I lift my tshirt, screams and arches her back pushing me away I've expressed twice a day as if she'll calm down about it I'd like to keep morning/night BF going for a bit longer, which was my plan, and otherwise I'd be in agony. So we're giving her EBM to drink and she's having some of it, then pushes the bottle or cup away quite forcefully.

I think overall it's teething/sore throat and we'll have to ride it out and see what happens when this is over. Sorry to have gone on so much. I am quite upset about the lack of feeding. I know I was wanting to wind it down, but not to have such an abrupt stop and to be rejected so forcefully

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/06/2008 22:10

Oh and congrats on the blue bump Daisy. I agree with Bumper about the eldest & youngest being the same sex - in our family it went girl-boy-girl (me being the youngest girl) and that seemed to work.

Oh god she's crying again!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/06/2008 22:11

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY HOLLY

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:16

Jammy, could it be an ear infection? If that or a sore throat then lying down to feed or drinking can be very sore, especially the lying down as the fluid builds up behind the eardrum. Is it worth getting her checked over? You can also try some calgel/bonjela/teething granules 10 mins before you feed her and see if that makes a difference.

And don't worry about going on about it; it's what we're here for

my hometown has just been on the news....am cringing at the local accents

justRia · 23/06/2008 22:17

poor you jammy. try not too think in terms of "reject" though. it's food not you.

TALLULAHBELLE · 23/06/2008 22:17

Poor Jammy & Jamlet. Hope the strike ends soon. I don't get engorged at all now if I miss a feed, seem to just make as and when. Must be really uncomfortable for you.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:18

how has your morning sickness been tallulah? I'd heard that it is usually much worse with twins.

justRia · 23/06/2008 22:19

hope that didn't come over as patronising. I know what I meant.

I cringe too daisy, and at craply acted yorkshire accents. we don't all come from Batley

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 23/06/2008 22:28

Thanks ladies. I thinks she does have a sore throat Daisy, as she sounds hoarse. Her temperature is normal though, so I don't think it's anything too serious. I also think she's teething as she's gushing drool like she's the Trevi Fountain or something. I've tried offering her a feed with her not lying down, but she just went mad at the sight of me lifting my shirt TBH although I'd love her to BF, my main concern is wanting her to be well and happy (and to sleep ) and out of pain. She does seem to have settled - haven't heard anything for a little while now - so I think I'm going to bed and fingers crossed she's tired enough to stay asleep now. Will see how she is in the morning and if she's worse or if it continues for another day/night then yes I think it'll have to be the doc, though I am meant to be on this course all week.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:29

DH bought me a nice box of chocolates to say Happy scan and halfway mark......bet that's cos he didn't get his last night

holly, I hope DP made it home for a birthday tea!

TALLULAHBELLE · 23/06/2008 22:34

Enjoy your chocs Daisy. The m/s is horrendous but it was with DD (I had 41 weeks of it) so can't say its any worse with twins than one. Good that you're past that stage now.

TALLULAHBELLE · 23/06/2008 22:44

Off to bed, been a big day. Hope I can sleep, my mind is racing. Hope you all have peaceful night.

justRia · 23/06/2008 22:47

good luck for a restful night jammy.

it took DH an hour to water the garden tonight. After talking to an eco-type person yesterday we went out and bought a plastic dustbin for £6.99 to compost in. Can get DH the Mr Grumpy tshirt for his Bday now.

Seansgirlthesequel · 23/06/2008 22:49

Jammy, really hope you both have a good night. Like Ria said its not you just the milk for some reason, maybe she doesn't feel hungry at all or feels queasy? DD weaned herself at 9.5 months quite abruptly I don't know why so 12 months is a brilliant achievement! (sorry no comparison this time as DS ff didn't like bf and reflux)

justRia · 23/06/2008 22:56

justa thought and I may well be wrong, but someone told me when I was BF DS2 that they are not as keen to feed if AF due?

do any of you guys know if it's illegal to pick elderflowers from hedgerows? DH wants to make HFWs elderflower champagne. I sense a crossing of 70s sitcoms here

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:56

night tallulah.

Realise i didn't ask about DH....is he with you or still in Oz? and how is he taking the news?

Jammy, hope you have a better night.

lackaDAISYcal · 23/06/2008 22:57

I don't think it is Ria....Hugh FW was at it on last Wednesday's River Cottage!
