PJ is there an inside pool anywhere nearby, I found it a godsend when we went to portugal, they stay cool in the pool while keeping out of the sun and the indoor pools are usually heated so they dont freeze to death, wont be long and you'll be back

AprilMeadow · 13/07/2008 18:16

Oh PJ dont worry you will be home soon enough. We love going on holiday and although it is hard work running after two at least it is a break from dull boring England.

Had a lovely day today with the children, we went to a local farm that had an open day and watched sheep being sheared and saw lots of animals (saddly most end up being eaten), went on a tour of the farm on the back of a tractor. It was free entry and the food prices were very reasonable. Went round the farm shop and bought some nice bits that mean i dont have to cook this week I did spend a lot of pennies but only because i signed up to a 6wk cookery course run in their cookery school. Will teach me how to properly cook (something i decided i wanted to do now i am at home).

My 2 monkies have been running after each other like loonies making each other laugh, it is very cute.

Had a good night with them last night as well. Had them both down by 8.45pm, i decided to go to bed at 9pm just incase ds woke at some god awful time. I got woken by dd at 6.50 and ds woke at 7.10! I was so impressed! Dh is home late tonight so am hoping for a nice easy to bed routine for them again

twelveyeargap · 13/07/2008 19:32

My mum suggested that S could be "acting out" a bit. We'll just have to wait and see.

Glad I went swimming now, although with um seven children there wreaking havoc, it could have been more relaxing!

Will drink loads tonight and see how I am in the morning. Will ring midwife if there's no change. Cheers.

largeginandtonic · 13/07/2008 21:35

Can be infection like Lups said, best to see the midwife in the morning. They think it was a wee infection that made the twins arrive early >

S could be acting out but she is a big girl to be doing that i suppose. Seems silly she would sneak when you have given her ample opportunity to come clean though. Teenagers! Hope she realises the error of her ways and calms down again. You don't really need any extra stress right now.

April excellent idea on the cookery course! It will really get you going, i want details please! Love that sort of thing. The farm sounds lovely too!

Lups has dp come out of his room yet? My ex was like that, grrrrr.

Have had hectic day, baby up at 630 and kids all piled in to see Jonah open his b day pressies. He was very pleased, his little friend arrived late morning and i did a birthday lunch. They all played outside most of the time so having 7 was not too noticable

Master how was J today? Is he testing boundaries I can't imaging lugging him round on my hip! You must be like She Ra

The worst thing happened last night little B fell off the futon (again) and bashed his head on the chair (again) i was a bit freaked, super unlike me. His bump was HUGE and had a line of blood under the skin too. Luckily we live next door but one to a Doctor. I ran over and asked him to look (aware that a casualty trip would be with all 6 at 8pm) he said all ok, just keep and eye on him. I kept him up and played with him then laid next to him while he slept. Poor little mite, he was very brave. I am going to bubble this chair >

Am off to bed soon, knackered.

SKYTVADDICT · 13/07/2008 21:42

Poor B. C has started climbing and falling off things but no big bumps yet. He has his MMR tomorrow. Seems well at the mo so going to go for it. I also have my 36 week m/w appt and it is toddlers in the afternoon so will be a busy day.

Been trampoline shopping today. Now very confused as to what we should be looking for. Don't want to pay too much as DDs buying it themselves. I have now found some cheaper ones on the net but how do you know what is good?

TYG sorry to hear DD playing up - DD2 is playing up again. We had to leave a pub today because DP was so fed up with her behaviour. She screamed and cried all the way out - was very embarrasing. Went to another one though when we got back home as we were starving and she had apologised etc by then. She knew she was in the wrong!

Sorry to hear you are not enjoyung hol PJ!

AprilMeadow · 13/07/2008 21:54

Poor little B, i have noticed that E seems to have the odd bruise here and there but then i guess thats normal given she is into climbing and running at break neck speed everywhere. The web address for the farm is here it was really lovely to see a farm that was making the most of its land. They rent fields out and several of their buildings. I think they said that they grew potatoes that were sold to Walkers and Burts to be made into crisps, they also had a field that was growing corriander (weird i thought).

Hope C's MMR goes well tomorrow, i'm still waiting for E's to come through the post.

Tomorrow pm dh and i are starting to paint the downstairs hallway. We now only have the utility room, hall, landing and stairs to do by thursday night. Utility should be done tomorrow and i think we should be able to get the hallway done by end of Tuesday and then finish off Wed/Thurs. Aaarrrrgggghhhhh i cant believe it is finally happening this week. Its been a long time coming and i just cant wait to be in there.

twelveyeargap · 14/07/2008 07:18

Oh poor B! There's nothing to make you feel like a bad mummy like a huge lump on the head is there? Glad the doctor checked him over for you. Belated happy birthday to Jonah.

How goes the car shopping MKG?

I'd love to do a cookery course AM. Baking I can do, because it's all about following the rules. Cooking I find difficult because you need to use your imagination more or something. That what DH thinks anyway, because he's the opposite. He can look at some ingredients and imagine a dinner whereas I look at ingredients and think, er, chicken and veg? (However, he cannot bake. Doesn't like rules. )

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 07:50

Thats what i am like TYG, i can bake cakes and follow receipes but i want to be able to look at the stuff in the cupboards and think 'ooh i could make so and so with that' rather than just looking blankly at them.

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 07:50

Hope all goes well at the scan lups x

Themasterandmargaritas · 14/07/2008 08:47

Poor B, this'll make you feel better LG&T, J fell half way down the stairs this morning. Someone left the door open at the top of the stairs and he went for it. He also has a large egg. Poor boys. He was on much better form yesterday and managed to stay up til 8 and have supper with our guests. Dh then left for the uk

TYG, how are you feeling this morning? How's the wee looking?

Good luck Lups for today.

Oooo a cookery course April, how lovely. Nearly there with the house, its sooo exciting!

Happy Birthday Jonah! LG&T, J is definitely testing his boundaries and also going through massive separation anxiety. After being a perfect baby for the last year, I am now going to experience pay back on a grand scale I fear.

Gosh Sky, poor you, how old is dd?

It's raining here, and looks just like England. I feel quite at home

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 09:38

Poor big little J. Hope he is ok.

Just put E down for a nap as she decided to wake at 5.15! I rocked her got her back to sleep but it took an hour and a half and then no sooner had my head hit the pillow J woke and then woke E so we have been up since 6.50am!

She keeps climbing into J's bed and snuggling under his duvet, so this morning i have put a pillow and duvet in her cot and she loves it, as well as looking very cute/grown up. I dont think it will be long before she goes into a bed.

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 10:06

have popped a picy up - so cute

ShowOfHands · 14/07/2008 10:23

M slept in her bed last night. We converted it yesterday to a big bed for her. She got up this morning and brought her blanket and teddy through for cuddles. I'm not sure if I'm .

Reading through, tis the season for bumps to the heads it seems. DD has one too!

AM, ooh moving day approaches.

TYG, wee ok?

Am reading backwards...

How long's MrBond in the UK for Cam?

Beau is a climber isn't he LG&T? Happy birthday wee Jonah!

Will keep reading...

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 10:33

Oh how cute SOH! What a grown up girlie you have. How are you feeling now?

ShowOfHands · 14/07/2008 10:43

I'm much better. I was Not Right for a while. It was excruciating and I was delirious with a very high temp. Believe me, you do not want a pus infected right breast. It still hurts enormously but the temp and hallucinations have gone. It was like flu x50.

I don't like her being grown up, I feel bereft. DH suggested a second. I didn't punch him in the gonads though I felt I might.

Oh dear, I logged on and swore at MKG's dh. I do not remember that. I apologise profusely, will get it deleted.

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 10:50

LOL. he did deserve it at the time though

Themasterandmargaritas · 14/07/2008 10:52

Don't delete it! It kept us amused and shocked for days Glad you are feeling better, how awful.

I'm not letting J out of his cot, ever.

Sweet pic April, she looks so cute.

ShowOfHands · 14/07/2008 10:53

LG&T, girl? Eh, what? Somebody condense all the relevant info, my head is spinning from the puschair talk... I saw a double pushchair in the city yesterday. The smallest baby was underneath looking at his brother's back. It was a bit like driving around with your child in the glove compartment. What's that then? Had the mother just stuck the baby in the bit where you put your shopping?

Themasterandmargaritas · 14/07/2008 10:57

you are subtly hinting SOH that you are almost ready to join them aren't you?

ShowOfHands · 14/07/2008 10:59

Feck no. The very idea fills me with horror. Friend of mine is pg after her dh had his snip reversed. Just so you know. There are options.

Themasterandmargaritas · 14/07/2008 11:02

Listen, I Am A Bad Mother. My two dc are watching Scooby Doo and I am here. I should be cooking them lunch and playing educational games with them. The fat one is asleep, with a large bump on his head because I left a 9 year old in charge of him while I lay in bed this morning. I couldn't do it to another one. I just couldn't.

ShowOfHands · 14/07/2008 11:10

I believe it's a school of parenting called Healthy Neglect and it breeds happy, independent and capable adults. If they make it that far. DD is currently emptying the washing machine for me.

I, in all seriousness, think M will be the only one. I can't do it again.

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2008 11:16

Round up (well what i can remmeber)

GT thinks it might be a pink one

Lups is off to have a scan today as she has been having pains.

Scoots dh has organised a holiday with his family without asking Scoot first. L went out with a sanitary pad in her pants yest just in case she had an accident whilst learning to use the toilet

Sky can see the finish line

TYG is days away from O arriving and is doing battle with DD1 who thinks she can out smart her mammy.

MrsJB is moving out of the Chateau and buying something without her mum and dad

MKG is car hunting and feeling sick

JAM went to see the Take That Musical in London last week. And seemed to have a good dog training lesson with Louis

Befnal is preggers (was fourlittlefeet)

TheMaster is getting a full time nanny

Pink is not enjoying her holiday

twelveyeargap · 14/07/2008 12:09

You poor love with the mastitis. Have had it twice, but thankfully only needed antibiotics the first time. I think it is flu x 50. At least with flu, you generally get to lie in a darkened room for 10 days until it goes away. With mastitis you have to feed through it. Pure hell. Well done for getting back on your feet.

How grown up is M sleeping in her own bed! Very cute coming in for cuddles. I can imagine you'd be a bit , BUT you may really enjoy having the bed just to you and DH again. Plus this is very good news for PJ who may be able to do the same thing soon! (Put L in her own bed I mean, not go in to you and DH for cuddles. Arf!)

AM - I was thinking about moving A to a bigger bed just before we move her into her new room. My cousin gave me the Stokke toddler bed converter kit thingy, so it's like her own cot, just bigger, with one open side. I bought her some duvet covers in Ikea a couple of weeks ago, so thought I'd try her out with a duvet during the summer so she won't freeze if she kicks it off. She does love her grobag, though it makes me laugh a LOT when she tries to walk in it.

scootermum · 14/07/2008 12:22

Oh Befnal was fourlittlefeet?!Congrats to BB!

Where is Pink on holiday anyway?

Sorry to hear you have been so poorly SOH.Your norks are always playing you up and yet you soldier on..you are like superbreast feeder..you make me so ashamed that I wimped out after 6 weeks..

Poor B with his bump.BUt if it makes you feel any better M fell off our bed and hit her head on the wooden surround bit not once but twice over the weekend..You would think I would learn the first time but no..

Maybe I should share Themasters nanny?

I wonder how L is getting on with the CM and the potty today.I wish her luck with it from the comfort of my potty training free office today anyway as yesterday was not good.We went to lunch at a friends house.Said friend is 6 months preggers and nesting like mad.She said the slightest mess made her uneasy at the moment.Que L peeing all over the carpet and trying to use at one point, a large ornamental wooden bowl as a potty and you will see why we left early!

Hope scan goes well Lups x

Off to take a customer to the caff now.I will not eat a bacon sandwich.I WILL NOT!
