Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
twelveyeargap · 10/07/2008 09:18

Congratulations, BB. Very pleased for you.

And at Megg. Spot on.

If DH wants to take them back with him, TheMAM, I'm happy to get them for you as well. I'm in London so could drop off/ arrange pick up. Where is he staying? If it's easier, I (or April!) could post by next-day to wherever he's staying.

Glad you've had a bit of help LG&T. When are the older children off to stay with numpty ex their dad?

largeginandtonic · 10/07/2008 09:43

They go 19th TYG, i cant wait tbh. I am beyond tired at the moment. I wake up in the morning and think nooooooooooooo, not another day already.

Only another week of school hell to get through, next week i have 2 appointments with dd, 2 glasses pick ups (diff opticians, diff days) 2 evening school plays and a possible sports day. 4 student pick ups late evening and on Monday a Paultons park trip with toddlers for the youngest 2. Not too busy

I have the twins sports day today. I hope it would be cancelled due to rain but noooooo, off i go with grumpy B as he wants to go to bed and grumpy Hugs as he will be bored. Oh someone shoot me

Have you set the pool up yet? I hope i get to see it when i come up. I am borrowing SOH's when i have this one. Not ticked that birth box yet

Madamejaffa · 10/07/2008 11:22

Is that at the first 33 week sign of labour lg&t or the real one at 41+5?

TYG, are you having a midwife present? That born free programme last night was actually quite amazing. The first woman in the birth pool was so calm... honestly it looked like a walk in the park. Still think it was risky, but each to their own.

Off to the garden now, the sun is shinning the pool is warm ish and the kids are much better out there then in here.

largeginandtonic · 10/07/2008 11:41

There will be NO early arrivals thretened this time, i forbid it Seriously am going to take it very easy at 30 weeks and try to be calm and zen like > I don't want a repeat performance and dh will be weekending it again by them so should be able to rest at the weekends. Am a bit worried about it

Have a lovely time in the garden! Wish we could join you.

The freebirthing prog was amazing, strong women. I know i could'nt do it, i held off pushing Hugs out till the midwife came. It is risky especially with no antenatal care beforehand, that scared me more than no one at the birth tbh. I texted my sil to watch it, she wants her first at home. It was such a good first sight in to homebirth and i hope her and her dh feel happy with their decision. I want to go >

MKG · 10/07/2008 11:57

Good morning everyone. Nothing new to report, other than waking up at 5 to take dh to work so I can use the car to go to work. Hopefully will get this situation fixed soon, because I hate this. The kids were so happy to get thrown in the car early. They were all smiles and Mateo was so happy to ride in dada's car and take him to work.

LG&T I predict a short, painless labor at 38 weeks

Themasterandmargaritas · 10/07/2008 12:12

Thanks April and TYG, if April wouldn't mind posting them I will email her the address, as TYG the office is right in town next to Vic Station and would be a nightmare for you my lovely, but thanks for offering. He sadly won't have a spare minute to try and get them himself and besides, lets face it, he won't get the right things will he?

LG&T, my sympathies for the last week of school --hell- joy. I never quite understand why they have to do so much in that last week, the kids are all knackered. Take it easy. I'm getting good vibes from MKG's predictions

Charley, I forgot to say, I hope dd doesn't suffer for too much longer. Poor thing. The dr here was trying to persuade me to vaccinate both boys and if neither has a spot by 6 months time I think I might, just to stop them being so damn uncomfortable.

Well the big news in the MAM household is......

...of course I'm not pregnant, I'm not that silly. But I have another Margaret She is called Elizabeth and is a full time nanny. Bloody amazing. Now I can really be a lady of leisure. I went to the second hand clothes market this morning and shopped til I dropped, left instructions for lunch and came back to find a clean house, fed children and a sleeping baby I stayed away from them all from 9.30 til 1.30 which is the longest I have been away from all three since we arrived 6 months ago.

MKG · 10/07/2008 12:13

Yeah it's way too early for me, but those little buggers are all revved up already.

I'm going to look at some cars today and tomorrow so hopefully will have a plan tomorrow afternoon.

largeginandtonic · 10/07/2008 12:14

Master such

MKG · 10/07/2008 12:15

Oh to be a lady of leisure like the Master (who truly now is the master of her house).

Themasterandmargaritas · 10/07/2008 12:19

[smug emoticon] followed by [slightly guilty at not playing with my children very much today emoticon]

Good luck with the car hunting, according to the BBC worldservice car sales in the USA are down by something like 45% vis a vis last year, so you should be in a great position to batter them into submission and get a good deal.

MKG · 10/07/2008 12:21

We'll see. I just want something used and in good shape. My friend asked me what kind I wanted and I said, "one that runs". That's my requirement.

twelveyeargap · 10/07/2008 12:40

Yes midwife present, if only to have someone to take away the placenta. I have no intention of burying it or planting rose bushes on it. I really went into myself last time round and I think I would quite happily have gone it alone. That might just be because everything that anyone said annoyed me last time.

LG&T - Pool isn't up. Have asked DH to do it on the day. I can't bear having it looking at me, mocking me that I'm still pregnant. If baby is out (I'm hoping full moon next Friday might help), you can take mine with you if you like it. It's a La Bassine one, with all the pumps and stuff you need. I'll have it cleaned and Milton-ed for you.

I think this baby is OP. I can feel movement more or less equally on both sides. I can't sleep on my side to move him, because my hips stiffen up in the night. I suppose once I get on all fours during labour he might move. DD1 was OP (though positioning wasn't something that people even talked about then) and the back labour was agonising and long. That said, I spent my labour lying on my back, so can't have helped.

I'm feeling very BLAH today. I am so SO bored. I have done pretty much all the jobs I can do. I was out in the rain cleaning the front door yesterday, fgs and was irate because the council didn't collect the rubbish and so I couldn't clean out the wheelie bin. Am going to Wood Green shortly, somewhere I HATE, just to go Mothercare and fill in the time til the midwife comes later. Meh.

Meh.

AprilMeadow · 10/07/2008 16:06

I have the bits TMAM and they are going in the post tomorrow to get to your dh's office for Monday.

twelveyeargap · 10/07/2008 16:28

Meh.

Baby not OP. Phew. Just got limbs in a funny place or something.

Farking Wood Green. Got the bus because I don't like the dark smelly car park. Got pushed out of the way at the bus stop by another mother with a buggy, who nabbed the only seat next to the buggy area and studiously ignored my bump, which was, frankly, right in her face. Cow. I swear, I have never not been offered a seat or have someone move about so I can sit next to the buggy until now. However, there's something about that branch of Mothercare which means they always have lovely things in the sale (boys sleepsuits and pyjamas in this case), rather than the old tat you usually find. Got some lovely things in M&S for A as well.

Going to have to order some nursing bras online. Have been fitted in John Lewis as a 36G. Jaysis. Obviously they only had one style in white in that size and it looks like two tents on a string.

largeginandtonic · 10/07/2008 16:44

Fig leaves and bravissimo TYG are the best, although buying online makes me nervous as i like to try stuff on. Order loads and try it all on i suppose is the only answer.

IF you have had the boy by the time i come to see you i will happily borrow your pool I don't blame you for not putting it up, it would mock me too. Although i may have to if i actually want to get in it. How long does it take to fill? I will need it to be about 20 minutes >

I retreat in to myself too when in labour, apart from to shout\wail "i cant do it" at the end Oh god do i have to do it again?

Lups i have the Dakar and love it!!! Is so light and easy to push. Will keep the matrix for the next baby. Horsemadgal indeed has the buzz now. Excellent swap!

Have to have dd at Brownies in 15 minutes, will it ever stop????

elkiedee · 10/07/2008 16:47

TYG, ooh, other women with buggies who are really mean are the worst! Glad you found some nice stuff though.

twelveyeargap · 10/07/2008 16:56

I think it did only take about 20 mins LG&T. The La Bassine pools are quite small, but in a good way. Sort of cosy. Obviously if your water pressure is a mere trickle, it will take longer. Will check with DH.

Elkie - I forgot to say that yes, I would like the number of your plumber. We have some other bits and bobs to get done later in the year - replacing a radiator and whatnot, so would be glad of a recommendation.

Themasterandmargaritas · 10/07/2008 17:22

Phew about the non OP position TYG. Sorry about all the meh though. Gazing into MKG's crystal ball regarding birthing dates, I predict a baby arriving on Sunday

LG&T, you are a marvel, I just don't know how you do it.

April, thanks a million. It was such a treat to talk to you too! I was so excited I missed dd almost falling off her horse!

Ok I am not feeling quite so smug now, I have had 3 hours of post Elizabeth, pre-bedtime hell, whinging boys, both of them at the same time. why do they save it all up for mummy?

JamInMyWellies · 10/07/2008 17:23

largeginandtonic · 10/07/2008 17:52

Yes Louis SIT FGS Good luck Jam!!!

Aw Master how lovely you got to speak to AM She is special.

B is grumpy as hell, dd at Brownies, twins bouncing off walls waiting to go to their disco and Hugs running round covered in chocolate mousse. I love being a parent me

Forgot to say before PJ text me a very cute pic of Lexie in the pool on her hols, she looks adorable!

Master i have limited sympathy for you with the tired grumpy children, you did get to go shopping today alone

TYG don't knacker yourself out before giving birth, you must rest a bit you know! Book yourself a spa day. Have you attempted lady garden etc yet?

Oh the joys...

Madamejaffa · 10/07/2008 18:10

Ohhhh I'm feeling quite excited at a baby being here soon. Just doesn't seem 5 mins still since all of us were doing it and now it's happening again!! Woooo Hoooo

Ended up with an outing to the river for Ice cream, even the garden wasn't cutting it today. Had a nice time though, I am begining to enjoy my childrens company.
