LG&T i have the trousers all packaged up and will get dh to take them to work tomorrow to post - should get them Saturday

LOUIS SIT. Figners crossed for a good training session.

Befnal, do we get to see any pics of beany?

TYG, great news that O is not OP. Lol at not wanting to put pool up due to it mocking you Do you ever stop? (i know its pot calling kettle....) I just havent seen any posts saying i had a bit of me time today. I know you have A to look after but do try and get to the salon/spa as LG&T suggested.

House is looking good (finally). Electrician came today and twiddle what he needed to twiddle so that means that our floor can be grouted and the bathroom finished tomorrow. The taps for the kids one turned up so that means that the room can be finished AND the cupboard for the kitchen turned up along with the 2nd fitter so i have a cupboard up on the wall so kitchen is complete. This fitter will be doing the downstairs cloakroom as well so hopefully that will be finished tomorrow. Also the rooms that had carpet down yesterday are actually looking like rooms (will start moving stuff across this weekend).

Once weare settled perhaps we could organise another meet up?

Lupins71 · 10/07/2008 19:53

blimey that was hard work and numpty Dp sent me a text at 7.15 to say he was back and off tot he local for a couple of pints!!!! Boy did he get his ear chewed pff when I got home.

Archie and Louis both impecabley behaved Louis sat on command woo hoo and A sat in his buggy chatting for the first 45 mins and then spent the last half an hour trying to round up the other dogs. The teacher at the end did say blimey you must be run ragged and why are you not the size of a gnat so I informed her that at nearly 5mth preggo the size of a gnat would be a miracle but thankyou for informing me I was fat.

So wahts beeb going on?

Sorry master I would have got bits for you then saw AM has you sorted. By the way am too to say anymore.

LUPS take care of oyurself hope you can get some meds and that it is nothing to do withthe preg.

MKG happy car shopping , I had a F350 and something else tank like to drive when I was out there you americans do build them big.

I did watch the free birthing prog last night and I have to say it was very good but it brought back lots of sad memories about A's birth about how long it dragged on for how I had soo many drugs and how I decended into a gibbering wreck. I must not let that happen this time round who does hypnobirthing is it any good?

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 10/07/2008 22:50

YAY to A & L for being such good boys!
JAM you MUST tell me what TT the Musical is like. If its any good then i might well have to make the trip to London to see it - altho not sure i will convince dh to go with me....

twelveyeargap · 11/07/2008 09:28

Lupins, how are you feeling now? Yay for the good puppy and son Jam and Yay for the bathrooms AM.

Ladygarden was sorted two weeks ago LG&T, so I have time to fit in one more wax before due date. Not terribly relaxing though! However, AM, I did get my toenails french-painted with biosculpture (sort of ever lasting polish) on Weds, once I had the front door washed, so am hour of me time there.

As for relaxing.... Well, I have little choice today. Thought the baby was going to start coming yesterday evening when I was violently sick, but turns out to be some sort of virus. Am laid up in bed barely able to make it to the loo on Bambi legs. You know you're a mother when you feel shocking, so you get the baby to bed early, make tea for the teenager, then slope off upstairs with a plastic bowl and a packet of anti-bac wipes to "indulge" your sickness. DH was out at the Fratellis gig. Would have asked him to come home, but he was taking his nephew for his 16th birthday present, so I felt a bit mean. Despite DH being pissed when he got back, I've never seen a person move so fast as when I was sick in the night. He was up out of bed and holding my hair and the bowl by the second retch. The glamour of being married. He must be on high baby alert or something.

Had to get S to take the day off (and miss a trip to Kew Gardens ) to mind A for me. She's been very good about it.

Going to have to reschedule today's MMR again. Wouldn't ask S to deal with that.

elkiedee · 11/07/2008 09:52

Aaarrrrghh TYG, sounds horrible, hope you feel better soon, and that your baby wait is nearly over. Glad your daughter's been helping.

twelveyeargap · 11/07/2008 10:07

I presume if I'm on water only today and feeling weak, that it's normal for the baby to be quiet? He has moved, just only very slight movements.

ShowOfHands · 11/07/2008 10:13

Normal TYG, your activity may have kept him awake more than normal too so he's catching up. Violent retching may have changed his position too, altering movements.

You know what to do if you're worried.

Get well soon.

PS Have a La Bassine too with all the extras so if you haven't popped by the time GinnedUp visits the offer's still there.

I'm not here.

JamInMyWellies · 11/07/2008 10:22

TYG poor you. Well done S. Are you managing to keep anything down I know its vile but can you have some doirlyte or maybe a bit of flat lemonade it might help you feel a smidge more human. I wouldnt worry too much about the little lad you will know yourself if its not right.

OP posts:
AprilMeadow · 11/07/2008 10:37

TYG you poor thing, not what you need when so close to having bubs. You are so lucky to have S to help you out. Hope you start feeling more human throughout the day.

Lups how goes it?

SOH how are you feeling now?

Am supposed to be cleaning this bomb site up but am struggling to find the motivation!

Lupins71 · 11/07/2008 11:16

TYG you poor thing, how are you feeling have you stopped being sick yet, I read somewhere the baby does slow down if you are sick, somehow it knows that you need your energy reserves so doesnt go jigging about to much, hope your feeling better soon, bless your dh thats lovely.

I am feeling bit better - no major stabbing pains just a few dull ones tis morning, mum sent me back to bed till 10.10 yipeee and feel alot better - just wish these queasiness would pass, anyhow midwife coming 11.30, scan on monday 10.30 so in a few days I might know where im at

Lupins71 · 11/07/2008 13:34

Hi me again, the midwife was very nice, very understanding, we get (as of 2 wks ago) nuchal screening on the nhs at plymouth, I am also getting referred for my carpal tunnel as some of the midwifes are qualified, there is a lady consultant that comes to the tavi midwife centre (cottage hospital) once a fortnight so I am being booked in to see her in 2 weeks

Arlen has just sucked the ink out of a felt tip and is flourecent yellow

twelveyeargap · 11/07/2008 13:41

All sounds quite positive so far Lups.

Have eaten some toast and had some lemonade. Just feel tired and sore now. A is in bed. S going to give her lunch when she gets up and I might decamp to the sofa after that to keep them company.

MKG · 11/07/2008 13:41

Good morning everyone. I am feeling well rested today, although dh said last night he wouldn't mind if the kids and I took him to work everyday, by 7pm last night I was ready to fall over. Started the car shopping last night and found some possibilities, hopefully I will complete my search today.

Oh such fun in my life I can't contain myself.

MKG · 11/07/2008 13:43

Lupins I hope everything goes well on Monday, and your midwife sounds very nice.

Themasterandmargaritas · 11/07/2008 14:33

Oh TYG, poor you. Perhaps a sign to take things a bit easier in these last few days weeks? A bout of vomiting often proceeds labour a couple of days later does it not? It did for a friend here a month or so ago... Glad you are feeling a little better by now, good old dh for holding your hair, nothing worse than trying to keep your lovely long hair out of the way Well done S for being a brilliant big sister.

Sorry Lups that you too are not feeling 100%, will keep my fingers crossed.

In the middle of a lovely tropical storm here...

Madamejaffa · 11/07/2008 15:49

TYG, you poor thing, I hope the sickness passes quickly, you are going to need your strength soon. S sounds like she is being a sweetie.

Lups, will be thinking about you on Monday and hoping everything is well. Good ole Mum!

SOH.....why are you not here? Whats wrong with being here?

largeginandtonic · 11/07/2008 20:21

TYG my lovely! How are you feeling after the toast? Hope you are ok, bloody awful being poorly but with a huge bump it is dire. I had food poisoning at 20 weeks with B and it wiped me out for days. Good girl S on being a help. I was often kept off school to help out with tough days for my mum, i loved it!

Lups your midwife sounds lovely, i think the nuchal fold\dating scan is new for lots of peole, they are making it a must i hope.

I have had a terrible day, it started at 1230am B screamed for 2 hours, no reason, just hollered. I was drifting back off at 4 when i heard the chickens going beserk, the fox was back. I managed to scare it off but they wouldnt shut up. I had to put each one back inside the coop one by one, it is very muddy and yuk out there, i was holding the coop shut with one hand\foot while i grabbed a bird as they kept trooping back out again. I was cold, wet, covered in chicken poo and mightily pissed off. It was after 5 before i got back to bed and of course couldnt sleep

I am not loving the chickens right now...

DD has just started being sick too so bang goes my peaceful early night. Am really hoping it is just her as it wont be nice for ds#3 to have a birthday shared with vomit It is on Sunday.

AprilMeadow · 11/07/2008 21:22

LG&T what a nightmare start to the day you have had. I hope you have a better night and that Phin has stopped vomming.

TYG hope you have had a better day and are feeling more human.

Got another weekend of just me and the kiddos as dh is away at the touring cars in Snetterton (is that near you SOH?). Ella is spending the afternoon with her godmother and Jack (he doesnt know it yet) is going to help me move things across.

ShowOfHands · 11/07/2008 22:20

Am much better AM, not right though and can't look at screen for long. Snetterton is just oop the road.

Cam have just seen the worm thread and you must come home immediately. You can't live out there, you just can't.

Tried to catch up, can't see straight. Will try tomorrow.

elkiedee · 11/07/2008 22:51

Lupins, glad to hear they're making the tests available in more places. It seems so wrong to me that what you get offered depends so much on where you are - my hospital has a very tatty maternity wing - antenatal is on the 5th floor and the lifts have been out for a few weeks - but they do well on actually offering stuff to women, I can't believe that another north London hospital isn't giving someone on my new antenatal thread an initial appointment until nearly 20 weeks (what?) - it just seems wrong!

scootermum · 12/07/2008 07:18

Hi all,

Will try to catch up in a bit, lots to read though chatterboxes!

Festival last week was fabo.Weather was ruddy boiling though, despite hurricane predicted on forecast.Went equipped with wellies, mac and what not but no sun cream so got burnt badly.Very much enjoyed the music though and also got 2 hours kip in on the grass as one of the bands didnt turn up, which was a bonus! (you know you are over the hill when a good point in a day at a festival is having a sleep on the grass)

Monday was our friends funeral which was pretty awful.I dont think it had hit me really properly till we got there and saw all of our friends in one place and everyone so upset.I think thats the first time in my life ive known what its like to actually need a drink afterwards, it was so gut wrenching really. But we gave him a good wake and talked about him alot and had a laugh about all of our memories which is what he would have wanted.

Think I have been wearing the wrong contact lenses in each eye this week as have had a harry horrendous heaadache all week and an annoying jumping nerve in my right eye which wont stop.So I will have to go and beg some replacements off the optician this morning.

EEK We are starting potty training with Lily this morning..Any tips 0 wise ones who have done it before? What do you do at night?Keep the kid in a nappy or just buy rubbery sheets for the underneath of the normal ones.I am dreading this..DH is sqeueamish so it will be me with as he says my 'care experience' (I havent done personal care for 7 years but whatever)that will be stuck with all the cleaning up I shouldnt wonder

scootermum · 12/07/2008 07:19

TYG-Am coming to London town on Friday with the girls if you are around-could call in for frocks and tea, assuming you are not labouring?

Lupins71 · 12/07/2008 09:42

LGT I had a nuchal with A but its was rather pricey - not compared wit the peace of mind obviously but still a chunk out of the income, hopefully they will make it free for many more families

ELK 20 wks OMG that is madness! it really is a postcode lottery isnt it

SCOOT gald the festy was good - I love em, really sorry again about your friend, funerals altho being a very upsetting thing are also a positive thing, it is lovely that people can really talk and air thier feelings and memories about that person, it does help make te process more complete, regarding the becoming dry I think you need to wait until she is dry in the day 1st before attempting night time dryness - dd was in pull ups at night (and still is sometimes ), keep the potty down all the time adn try and put them in as many rooms as possible, if you have time then offer her the potty say every hour or half hour - make her sit on it but not in a forceful way - and buy lots more knickers than you actually need, because you will need them, good luck

TYG how are you feeling today?

I am into making mango and banana smoothies, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
