TYG, D keeps acquiring alarming wounds - the worst was a big black eye from a gatepost thing in the playground, when he was fascinated by the concept of walking in and out of the gate.

This morning his CM noticed several scratches on his arm, and I realised it must have been from when he was mauling one of our cats this morning. The silly creature sat by his cot and didn't run away when he started to stroke her, but obviously responded to having her tail pulled.

I'm just hoping we manage to keep him from breaking any limbs for a while.

AprilMeadow · 08/07/2008 16:15

Oh SKY your poor dd that sounds so painful. I hope that it clears up quickly for her and doenst cause too much more discomfort.

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 17:18

Poor dd sky, sounds like a peferated ear drum, could need antibiotics? could you get a telephone appointment with your gp to explain whats happened and see what they say?

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/07/2008 17:34

Oh Sky, poor dd, ear infections are just so painful no matter what age. Hope she is better tomorrow. Lol at your text to dd

As you know, I am with MrsJB on the let them yell front. Only I advocate 6 weeks. Seriously. Both ds cried for two minutes, two nights and then boom perfect going-to-bed-ness.

MrsJB, typically blardy french doctors, one friend of mine use to weigh out how many grams of cooked chicken her 13 month old could have. No more than the allowed amount not even if the child was starving. Good job I live in Africa, they adore big fat happy babies here

Oh Jam the pupster is 7 months old, the vets tried to fob me off with the 'leave it until after the first heat' nonsense, but I know what the dogs are like around here and the thought of Mindy offspring is truly terrifying. When confronted he said 'there is now evidence to suggest waiting until first heat is not necessary, but waiting until at least 6 months is. She is a hair past 6 months

J's got too much flesh to have any bruises. He just bounces.

Go April, Go April, Go April. Can't move in without a bathroom.

I know who flf is

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 17:45

Master you are meaner than me!

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/07/2008 18:04

Ruthless I often beat them to within an inch of their lives when noone is looking. They always behave well when we are out and about.

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 18:53

haha ohhh our parenting skills are so alike!! Oh is that the time? damnnn best let them out and into their beds.

Has anyone heard abou the farmer in Devon? He has successfully grown a field of dildos. Unfortunateley though he is having some trouble with squatters.

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/07/2008 20:11

you nutter.

SKYTVADDICT · 08/07/2008 20:43

Ha Ha - better wait until DD1 goes to bed until I relay the joke to DP.

Rang GP and got DD immediate appointment at 4.30. She now has antibiotics so hopefully will get better in a couple of days.

DD1 walked home! Ear crisis was happening at the same time though.

Good afternoon everyone. Well still no car for me, but my mom is coming home soon and she is going to fix everything. I have a couple of ideas and she talked to a friend of her's who is a mechanic and knows people that need to get rid of cars so we'll see.

MKG · 08/07/2008 22:00

I like that joke!

AprilMeadow · 09/07/2008 08:06

MrsJB you are WUDE Funny tho

Dh and i have been together 9years today! Seems like a life time

I have a bathroom finished!!!!! Well it still needs the flor grouting but that cant be done til THursday as an electrician needs to come and twiddle something By the end of tomorrow i will have 2 completely finished bathrooms and by next Thursday they will all be done He was very apologetic (got a bollocking) and although technically he is on schedule for the time he was allocated, he is massively behind for the time we were told. I have the snr installation mgr out today to talk about the leak damage and also to see where we are exactly.

Carpets go down in some of the rooms today so that means i can start building beds and moving stuff across . By the end of Friday i will have put together our room and the spare room. I can do the dining room over the weekend and then continue packing stuff up here

JamInMyWellies · 09/07/2008 08:50

Lupins71 · 09/07/2008 09:29

I would like your new addy to AM

I went to bed at 8.15 last night, I said I wasnt going to do it as it was my bday, but th ehouse was all cold and dark, I was all alone, tired and full of ms (seems to hit after lunch and im now off my tea) I just thought blow it what the hell, when do i get chance to just lay in bed and read, 5 minutes later i was dead to the world, A woke up because he was cold, dd woke up as she had had an accident - but all in all pretty much a 12 hr kip - arghhhhhhhh

Dd has learnt to swim underwater - she has done fab on this swim course, she has never been scared of the water and would do anyting with her floatie swim jacket but now she is like a little fish - they have their exam next week, even if she doesnt pass i am so proud of her

A has been walking a bit - but only when i am never around to see it my mum said he did a couple of steps theh other day amd dd has had him walking between the 2 sofas but i have only seen one step grrrr

MKG fingers crossed for a new car

SKY I would serously get her back to the docs, dp had this when we were in portugal and it is nasty, he had blood and pus coming out of his ear ewwww, i have never seen him cry in pain but he did then - said it was more painful than a motorbike crash, she will need some anti b's to sort it out - he now has hearing damage because we were abroad and it wasnt seen to properly.

Bl**dy raining again today - I am sure devon & cornwall are going to be washed away into the sea, it never stops raining

FLF good luck withh the scan

Suppose i had better get dressed, friend over today - her dd doesnt get up till 11am , the dad is a farmer and works the land and animals until late so her routine is that she is often up extremely late but doesnt get up till 11 is - it works for them, the mum gets time to do stuff and the dad gets to see his dd, she is only 18months and is a real clever little thing

LookattheLottie · 09/07/2008 13:52

Hi everybody!

Hope you are all well, I see we have some more pregnancy news! Congratulations!

We've just got back off of holiday, we went to the Costa Brava for a week. We stayed in a small town called Pineda and it was amazing. One of the best holidays we've ever been on. The hotel was awesome, it catered so well for children and adults. It had lots of childrens clubs and a soft play area that Charlotte didn't want to leave! Would highly recommend it. We got a fantastic deal on it as well. Though we should have gone for two weeks instead of one. We're already thinking of where to go next! Mum's 50th is next February so we're thinking of possibly going to New England or Jamaica for two weeks!

C couldn't have been better and I was so proud of her. I lost count of the times people remarked on how good/beautiful she was. Yes, I lapped it up and played the gushing parent too! There's a couple of holiday snaps on my profile, but most are on Facebook.

I'm currently having huge issues with C biting people! As good as she is, we're getting too scared to cuddle her incase she nips us. She bit me badly on holiday and I'm sad to say that I now actually have a small chunk of my nipple missing. I was crying for about an hour! She's too young to really tell off and understand, I don't really believe in hitting children especially at such a young age. So we've resorted to saying NO! when she does it and putting her down and trying to ignore her for a few minutes. The aim is to hopefully make her understand that nobody will want her if she is going to bite people, and if she does, she'll be rejected. It makes her upset when we do it, which I guess means she's half getting it........

I went to see Dolly Parton at the SECC in Glasgow before we went away and she was fantastic! Yes, I do have a fairly varied taste in music lol. I was initially a bit about forking out £60.00 for the ticket but it was worth every penny. She was brilliant.

I have no hope of catching up so I'll go from what's recently been posted!

Lups it's lovely to hear your dd loves swimming so much. I hope she does well in her exam.

AM good for you on the bathroom front. Don't let them slack off lol! Hope the moves going smoothly.

Sky, sorry to hear about dd not being very well. Pain in the ears is one of the worst, it's right next to toothache! I hope she gets better soon.

Jam, sorry but I did laugh at the dog running around with the bag of poop incedent!

Re bruises, I look like I've also been battering my child! C gets lots on her legs, she a brilliant wee walker and there's no stopping her running about. But every now and then she get's too cocky and has a fall. She's also getting cheeky and a bit of a temper on her! If she wants something and you don't let her have it, by god she screams at you and has a tantrum!

Need to book an eyebrow appt and do my nails, and go to the hairdressers. I don't know whether or not to just get it trimmed and tidied to grow more, or get it chopped and have my side fringe put back in. Decisions decisions!

Speak later, C down for a nap so I'm going to make some food. x

charleymouse · 09/07/2008 14:03

Hi sorry I disappeared again DD has had "Chicken Spots". Poor little mite has them everywhere and I mean everywhere. We had a few horrendous nights as everytime she weed in her PJ pants she woke up screaming with pain as they are did I say already EVERYWHERE. We are now on the road to recovery and she is doing really well not scratching them. No sign of G getting them though .

Happy Birthday for yesterday Lups. Good luck with the scan FLF. Right after waiting in for the kitchen fitter/electrician and glass fitter only one of whom appeared. I am now going to collect the girls aka Holly & Charley and move them in to the new house, not sure they are going to like the upset but hey ho feel bad they are on their own in the old house. It is also a nightmare sorting out getting them fed as Mum is now away on holiday.

Will catch up tomorrow when am back at work .

megglevache · 09/07/2008 16:41

Charley.

I found natural oats a life saver when both of mine had the dreaded chicken spots.

I would fill a pop sock (not mine honest ) with oats and put under a hot running tap then use the oat "pop sock" as a soothing sponge in the bath. It was brilliant and really helped especially dd who had it really badly. Tonnes of spot on the bits even her eyelids bless.

At least when they have it it's done and dusted

fourlittlefeet · 09/07/2008 17:59

Evening all

MKG · 09/07/2008 18:01

You can't do that. Out yourself now!

fourlittlefeet · 09/07/2008 18:02

aw. spoilsport. was going to see who got it right! And MM you are NOT allowed a guess

fourlittlefeet · 09/07/2008 18:03

Scan was fab. I was sooo frightened after various nightmares. Predictably DD was upset when the lights went out, so DP missed most of it, but I got to see it and also a good nuchal measurement (0.8 which the sonographer commented on as low, so hoping the bloods complement that).

YayYayYay.

TillyScoutsmum · 09/07/2008 18:05
