Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hello. I am still here and still pregnant. Have been furiously trying to get things done all last week as I was 37 weeks yesterday - the first day I'm allowed to have a home birth. (Interestingly I haven't seen a midwife for 6 weeks, but that's another story.) Anyway, trojan work has been done by me, sorting things and throwing out and getting prepared for the new arrival. I can tell you that I've been to IKEA so many times in the last ten days or so, (you know, you forget something or pick up the wrong size blahdy-blah) that the chap on the collections desk said on Sunday "Oh hello! Back again?".

FIL came down at the weekend and put most of our downstairs toilet back together. DH just has to finish the tiling now. DH got on with various other jobs, moved lots of my "sorting" to the loft.

I bagged up most of A's clothes for Oxfam today. Bit sad. Have kept a box of the pretty baby dresses and things I really loved on her. Rest has to go. Can't be bothered to ebay it and nobody I know is having a summer baby girl - everyone is winter time.

MKG - I'm furious at your DH. If the oil light just came on and then the engine died, it strikes me that the oil line has sprung a leak. If the engine wasn't overheating before, (indicating low oil), and the oil levels/ temperature on the dashboard were fine, then I can't see how this is your fault. Yes, one should check one's oil, but the indicators on the dashboard are there for a reason too. And if he was that worried about it, he should have been checking the oil himself. Tsk. My DH wouldn't have clue. If I want the oil checked in the cars then I can just do it myself. No point in getting narky with him about it. Anyway, I hope he bucks up his ideas and helps you choose a good car to fit the new baby in.

LG&T - Delighted your scan went well. Interesting that no willy was visible. We'll have to wait and see. How are you getting on without DH? Looking forward to seeing you!

Scoot- you poor, poor love. After every bloody thing that's gone wrong lately some bastard tries to mug you. FFS. Makes my blood boil. Hope the festival was good, despite the rain.

I'm going off to nurse my nose now. Have developed vile boil on the side of it. I look hideous. I've only ever had this before after having a baby. Hormonal changes must cause it. But, if I have this now, heaven knows how ugly I'll be after the baby comes. Maybe my entire face will erupt?

fourlittlefeet · 08/07/2008 09:30

MKG, can't believe your DH doing that to you!

TYG, as someone still in the first trimester, can't believe all that energy.

Quick question for you 2+ timers; would any of you/have any of you taken your 14 month along to the 12 week scan with you (obviously with other half as well)?

AprilMeadow · 08/07/2008 09:42

FLF, i think it depends on how still they can sit and also how good they are at waiting. I was lucky as J was in nursery so i didnt have to worry about that. I personally wouldnt have taken him as i wouldnt have been able to totally focus on seeing beany.

MKG at your dh. What a complete knob (thats my polite version).

SOH you swore! Hope you are feeling a little better today x

Lups, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Glad you liked them

JamInMyWellies · 08/07/2008 09:46

The FUCKING dog has just chewed halfway through the banister! AAAAARRRGGGHHH

and calm.

Yeap i took A with us when I had my 12wks Weirldy in the RL when I had the mmc they were totally cool with him being there but at the hospital I am going to this time round they were a bit funny about him coming in but I threw a strop and they relented and allowed A, they wanted DP to wait outside with him.

TYG you need to rest a bit.

SKY how are you doing not long for you either.

In and out, Jam, slow and steady.

Our dog has been renamed The Giant Pest. I took her to be spayed yesterday so she is feeling sorry for herself and has a bucket on her head, it at least means she can't

a) jump up on everyone
b) run into the house and steal the dc shoes and random toys
c) jump onto the table and nick the dc's food when my back is turned

I keep saying to myself tis only a matter of months until she calms down. It is isn't it???

TYG, that sure is some nesting, steady on old girl. If you ever want to send a v small package of baby clothes to a deserving cause do feel free to send them over to me - I can always find them a good home.

Happy birthday Lups, have a lovely day.

MKG, has your dh apologised yet? I sure hope he has.

FLF good luck! I took dd in for a scan when having ds1 she sat and looked at a book with my dsis holding but that was the Portland and there was oodles of room and I could do whatever I wanted. With ds2, there was no space and I needed to concentrate so ds1 stayed outside with MIL. Do you have anyone to leave the baby with?

fourlittlefeet · 08/07/2008 11:17

Oh Jam. Thats lunch sorted then . Actually I'm petrified of dogs so chances of me understanding why anyone would actually choose to live with one .... Cats.. a completely different matter of course .

I do have someone who has offered to take her but I think I will worry about that too and would rather reduce the number of things to worry about! I think I'm going to take her in and risk it. I saw others take their DC's in before so am sure its ok....DP can always restrain her/bribe her with cheerios and raisins if things get hairy!

Themasterandmargaritas · 08/07/2008 11:47

I forgot to say I took J for some of his vaccinations this morning, no Men C here, but he needed a Hep B booster and a Prevenar booster. He will go back next week for his MMR and Hep A. Ds1 also had a Prevenar booster and Hep A. Poor boys He also needs to go back next week for his MMR. This weeks lot cost almost £200, next week about the same Thank goodness for insurance!

But the most shocking thing was how much J weighs - 14kg ds1 who is 4 only weighs 19kgs!

MKG · 08/07/2008 12:32

Yes dh has calmed down and apologized. I'm glad I didn't give in a fight with him, because now he's apologized and I still come out as the good one and he feels like crap.

MKG · 08/07/2008 12:33

Oh and to answer your question FLF when pregnant I took Mateo to almost every appointment I had.

twelveyeargap · 08/07/2008 12:51

I took A to my 12 week scan. She was errr, between 7 and 8 months, so not quite so mobile as a 14 month old, but they were fine about it and I was on my own. DH couldn't come to that appointment. I just kept her in the buggy. I got there super-duper early in the hope I'd be the first in for the afternoon session and I was. I was out before my appointment time.

Just been to the recycling centre. I think the chaps who work there were a bit surprised to see a hugely pregnant woman about to lift a toilet out of the boot of the car and all ran over to empty the boot for me.

TMATM - I never thought of that! Bugger. Just dropped everything off to Oxfam this morning. Will keep a few nice bits in future and send them over.

Is anyone else's baby constantly covered in bruises? A looks like I've been battering her. It's awful. She just falls over constantly and runs into things.

She's being very sweet (in between the wailing every time I take some dangerous article out of her hands or refuse to let her play with my phone.) She points at my belly or rubs it and says "Baba!", because we've been telling her there's a baby in there. Now every time I say, "Where's your belly?" in the "Where's your body part?" game, she rubs her belly and says "Baba!", which is amusing and also slightly weird.

AprilMeadow · 08/07/2008 13:05

oh my god FLF you have outed yourself!!! I think i may well have emailed you........

SKYTVADDICT · 08/07/2008 13:06

We took C to all scans too. At the 12 week and 20 week one he slept through them but at 28 weeks he was a PITA and DP didn't really get to see much!

C rubs my tummy too when we say give baby a love - but I don't think he has a clue really how is life is shortly about to change! I have been trying to introduce him to a few babies but with all the illnesses we have had it has been tricky. My DN brought her 11 week old round last week but C was at CM.

I am starting to worry about leaving him for 48 hours or so while having a c/s. He loves my mum BUT she wants me to lay his clothes out in sets etc so she knows what to put on - also sort his food for two days etc - and leave a routine list - that worries me more than having a c/s I think . Lots of jars and youghurts I think!

SKYTVADDICT · 08/07/2008 13:07

I was wondering about FLFs dog thing too AM! I presume that is what you mean. Only need to wait until tomorrow.

Happy Birthday Lups.

AprilMeadow · 08/07/2008 13:10

JAM pmsl at the dog! I darent tell dh cause then he will definately put a ban on getting a dog!

TYG, SLOW DOWN! I did a whole load of running round in my last few weeks of pg and look where that got me.... Ella 4 wks early!

TMAM, poor little puppy dog Love your pics on FB.

Just been kicking arse at Dolphin HQ. Moving in next friday and not one bathroom is finished yet! They are coming out tomorrow to assess the situation (i could have told them that and saved them the trouble). I have told them that they can send out a 2nd 'team' and they can do that room and have it finished by next week. I am taking no prisoners today!

Lupins71 · 08/07/2008 13:38

Thanks all, strange day am just here stuck in the countryside with the dc - no dp tp come home, mum not coming over, just the joy of taking dd swimming later, am going to treat myself to a taxi tho today

AM go girl give em stick,

My cousin is posting back my doppler and sling - told her no hurry but she is all excited

JamInMyWellies · 08/07/2008 14:02

You are scary AM remind me never to cross you.

FLF has outed herself soo many times.

Right the dog has turned into a delinquent today and is doing my head in, he has chased Archie so many times round the kitchen the poor child is dizzy I just tried to dash out to the garden in-between downpours to do poo patrol and he ran off with the bag full of poo and spread it through the garden. He has now collapsed on the floor I hope to have a rest as I need a lie down. Themaster how old is your pup we were told to leave it as long as poss to get his rolloxs chopped as it can interfere with their growth?

LUPS a massive Happy Birthday to you go get yourself a massive cake when you go into town for swimming.

MKG am so glad your DH has apologised.

TYG A is the same am forever rescuing him for dangerous places and his legs are covered in bruises and scratches.

Just got an email from the lady that doulad for us last time. She has started to charge £500 for 1 antenatal 1 postnatal and the delivery. Looks like we will be doing it on our own this time.

OP posts:
MKG · 08/07/2008 14:07

So who is FSF? I have no idea.

AprilMeadow · 08/07/2008 14:11

She has her 12wk scan tomorrow and then all will become clear. She did say that she has RL friends on here and didnt want to be properly outed til after the scan....

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 14:26

FSF...... me! thats one I haven't heard for a while, do you remember?

FLF, we will be awaiting the official outing tomorow. I hope all goes well for you. xx

Tilly........... where are you?

TYG, so excited for you now, can not wait to see pics of your gorgeous new arrival. Take it a little easy if you can, you need to be chillin. Jorja is even more covered in bruises now with the first week of walking. She has got to the I'd rather be walking than crawling stage now but still can't stand up without something to pull up on.

Lups... Happy Birthday, hope you are feeling better about things.

MKG Wanker, glad he has apologised now, you deserve a box of choccies and a boquet too me thinks....

SKY, not long either!

TheMAM... Jorja had to go the dr's last week whilst I was away (tummy upsett) she was weighed for the medication. She is 11.5kg and the DR (locum) told A she was huge and far too heavy and that we needed to watch what she ate Have you ever heard so much bollox in all your life? She failed to measure her though and relise that she is probably about 5cm taller than most french kids that age!

lg&t glad the band arrived and you will get some use. You are very welcome. xx

please excuse any typos, I am not previewing as I must get on, but wanted to drop by. xxx

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 14:27

Oh one last thing.....

GO AM, Go GIRL, GO GIRL, GO GIRL!

AprilMeadow · 08/07/2008 15:18

I think he has been bollocked as he isnt saying very much to me.....

Just had removal men round and they have given me BOXES, it feels real now

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 15:38

YAY!

SKYTVADDICT · 08/07/2008 15:39

I still haven't worked out who FLF is but can wait until tomorrow.

I have decided today to try and lower our carbon footprint. As DD2 is off sick when DD1 texts me to ask if I will pick her up from school in the car I already have my text prepared to say "no I have been reading about sustainability etc and don't feel it is a necessary journey!". Her reply may be quite amusing . I made her walk to school today aswell so she won't be pleased! Basically I can't be bothered to get DD2 and DS in the car when she can walk for 20 mins and it isn't raining.

Just woke C from his 2 hour afternoon nap. I left him too late to wake yesterday at 4.15pm and he didn't go to sleep until 9.40 last night with lots of crying. Far too late. If he doesn't fall asleep on his bottle (which he has at about 8pm) he goes to bed about 9.00pm, cries for about 5-10 mins then gives in. Can't believe it has been that easy! All those months of rocking!

Madamejaffa · 08/07/2008 15:42

bet you won't be rocking this new one sky.... 9-12 weeks thats the time to do it. Honest!

SKYTVADDICT · 08/07/2008 15:55

No, I won't have time to rock the next one!

DD2 just had an ear crisis. None of my kids has ever had an ear infection but it def sounds like one even though Dr said yesterday it was just a virus. She just started crying really badly and saying her ear hurt really bad, it had a whooshing sound, pop and yellow watery stuff keeps trickinling out. I hope that will clear it now otherwise I can see another GP trip coming on tomorrow.
