Mornng. Am lurking.

POTC, I think you are making the right decision. You cannot afford to be messed around flower. Hope something can be sorted soon so that no-one gets too hurt.

Caz, so, did you do IT?????

Pants nights. B awake at 10.30 with bad croup. She was hysterical. Did go back to sleep until 6 tho.

Pretty damn tired.

So much so that we all overslept!

Better go - I am required.

Hope you are all well. xx

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2008 08:21

poor B - (did you mean B or K?)
How are you this morning oooggs?

geordieminx · 20/06/2008 08:37

Hey ladies;

Am going to do a proper catch up as little man is plonked in front of Night Garden!

I have been lurking most days but never get the time to write anything, or remember anything that anyone has said, then I feel guilty or just posting about my shit.

We all fine here, C seems to be on the mend as he's been under the weather since his b'day with one thing or another! My mum has been up most weeks too which has been nice, as C is really starting to know who she is now - its hard her not being here all the time, I know she misses C loads. Last week when I picked her up from the train station C went running along the platform to her which made her year I think - was very cute.

I had interview for the job that I went for with HSBC, went so terribly bad I had to laugh, it was one of those " give us an example of something in the past when you have exceeded the needs and wants of your customer" type interviews - only 4 question but all like that - great if you had ever worked in sales/customer service before... Anyway its cant have been that bad as they offered me the job - only I dont know hours (p/t), days, when I will start (jul/aug/sept) or anything which is a bit of a pita...

TBH I'm starting to have second thoughts, in that I know its more of an opportunity to do something new/work my way up so that once C starts school I can have a reasonable career again but have worked out that once I pay for child care (they have a subsidised nursery on site) I'll be comng out with about £20 a week... and still have all the jobs in the house to do...

In the process of getting garden sorted out t the moment - have decided to pull most of it up and lay a patio... but to do it ourselves which should be interesting!!

I think I, like most others on here have what can only be described as "wobbley" days.. normally when C is eating or is whinging constantly, its not easy this mother stuff is it? Although I have discovered a new place to tke C that will keep him occupied for at least an hour....COMET/CURRYS!!! He absolutely loves playing with the washing machines/fridges/hoovers.... its a great hour out of te house - although dodging pushy sales assistants is amusing.

Right I've not got much else to say now, and C is trying to destroy dp's new speakers... must go and retrive him..

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2008 08:47

hi gm
that's lovely - him running to your mum, I bet she was so pleased. My mum looks after T for half the week and he has started crying when she leaves, which obv isn't good but is nice iyswim.
Congratulations on the job - I finally got your offline message replying to my q but that was ages later . At least you have the option now. Any chance they'll go for PT work? What would the commute be like? Who would look after C? Have you heard from wo recently - is she still as stressed?
I hadn't thought to try comet - noxt time you're down do you fancy meeting up at the one in the Arnison Ctr and letting them run riot? (in a controlled way, of course)
T got a walking mat for his birthday, when you stand on the 'feet' it plays music or shouts out a number. Obv he hasn't needed it up till now as he's only just started walking. We got it out yesterday and he managed to walk its entire length without stepping on a single one of the 'feet'

geordieminx · 20/06/2008 08:52

Its P/T SPB, and they have anursey on site which is good.

Dear lord... C has just come out of the kitchen with a whole red pepper...well actualy not a whole on... there are several mout sized chunks missing... there is no logic to him you know - I have offered him every food under the sun and he is chomping on a pepper.... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2008 08:57

Healthy snacks - good boy!

Doobydoo · 20/06/2008 09:47

Morning...Good to see you GMM,Hope you can sort work thing satisfactorily it is a pita and ubfair re childcare costs and ehat you will be left with cash wise, but like you said, long term could be beneficial! You could use the 20 quid to have a cleanerProb for an hour a week
Caz hope it isn't too awful, smears are horrid.
POTC...Hope this gets sorted, sounds like a right mess.Maybe like you and others have said he needs to stop going back and forth and spend some time by himself.Must be hard for the women havibg to explain to the children[ie you and his wife]
M has teeth but isn't walking, though he can stand.
I missed the food bit but he eats better than ds1 who is nearly 9.
Got to go as M being utter arse.
Have good day all.xx

Bramshott · 20/06/2008 10:03

Oh shit, I should know better than to turn the computer on when I need to go out!! Supposed to be at Monkey Music in 15 mins, have no make-up on, suspect O needs a nappy change, and am now dealing with a missing Paypal payment for CDs!

POTC - sounds like a nightmare. Hope it works itself out.

Good week here - we have finally got some builders in to build steps and raised beds on our patio, which is the first step in transforming it from a wasteland of stones and cat poo with a dangerous cliff in the middle, into a sophisticated and safe outdoor eating area!

Back later I hope!

xxxxxx

elkiedee · 20/06/2008 10:03

GM, congratulations on the job. Shame about the money but hopefully it will get easier. My colleague with a dd born August 2005 and twins born April 07 is leaving on Tuesday, she's just working out her 6 months so as not to pay back maternity. I think that will be my position if all goes well this time round with pregnancy.

POTC, sorry to hear about your problems, and glad you were able to talk about them off thread and then tell us what's happening. You sound very brave about how you're handling it.

CaptainDippy · 20/06/2008 10:34

Morning!

Congrats on the job GM - it gets you out of the house and gives you a change of scenery, so even if the money isn't great, it is worth it, imho

Oh POTC, you are in a pickle! You've already "chatted" it through eih me and you know what i have suggested etc so I won't "harp" on I think you are sensible to "take a step" back and give him and you space and time to work things out. xx

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2008 10:38

GM - did your sums take childcare vouchers into account?

StealthPolarBear · 20/06/2008 13:35

where is everyone?

geordieminx · 20/06/2008 14:25
