We have just been making a birthday card and the jamlet grabbed the ink pad . She has black fingerips and a black patch on a foot. Babywipews don't shift it.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 16:17

it'll wear off eventually jammy ....although I thought baby wipes shifted everything

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 16:26

swarfega (sp?) jammy?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/06/2008 16:30

oh i know it'll shift eventually, but like you I was surprised the baby wipes didn't get it

But we have a nice card for the woman at the children's centre tomorrow - with presents and mice stamped all over it.

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 16:33

my aunt uses baby wipes on her clothes if she spills on them, then "rests" then and wears them later in the week. I thought it was only tired mummies that did that, not childless ageing aunts

it's raining. I'm bored. I got sidetracked with DS1s baby albums. He was a chubby little bugger. The tiniest birthweight of the three and the fattest toddler. I was thin then too, and DH had hair... [wistful smiley]

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 19:51

Putt DD down an hour ago and she has just been up screaming . Not sure what's up wiht her, but she wasn't fully awake. Maybe she had a bad dream or something.

I've just told DH about the possible pram/carseat/nappy testing, and got a pleasant surprise by his reaction. I thought he would go nuts, but he seems quite excited about it!

I think it's like a car/bike thing daisy. Men seem to like the gadgety side of some pushchairs. My dp has hated, or been indifferent to, every pushchair we have ever had, except for the Zapp. He loved that because it was all modern and sporty looking and it folded up so small. He even bangs on about it now and it's been over a year since I sold it! Maybe your dh will become a pushchair hun!!

Hope your dd is ok. I think they do have little nightmares sometimes. It must be pretty scary being a teeny tot!

Is the Clarks sale on? Have I missed it? Shit! Ds needs some new shoes already ! The ones I bought him about 6 weeks ago are ruined. My dd's first shoes were a 2.5G daisy. Ds's are a 5G!!

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 20:10

they still had loads of stuff holly so you'll prolly get something....Am at size 5s...were they proper shoes or cruisers? DD still in cruisers as two steps do not a walking baby make!

The only ones they had in her size were white though....but thankfully they can go in the washing machine!

Am contemplating reflectively on DH being a pram hun. Actually he was really taken with the P&T for all the reasons you listed.

Holly 5G! Ds has just gone into a 4G!

The nursery free fees worked out about the same as Daisy's for me to around £270. I had to apply directly through the nursery and then they got paid per term from the county council. We also used to get nursery vouchers through DHs company too. This is the company that they used busy bees, it does help with the bills I believe there are other companies running the same scheme, only snag is your employer has to join the scheme.

Right off to try and type up some stuff for ebay [yawn] am determined to sell my baby clothes that the DCs have grown out of.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/06/2008 20:24

Yep 5G! They are cruisers, but that is the biggest size in cruisers, so he's going to have to have proper shoes now. They are these, he looks soooo cute in them! I don't really want him to have proper hard shoes yet though. He has been walking for nearly 2 months, but I still feel that he is too little to have his soft baby feet shoved into big hard shoes. I suppose Doodles would be a good compromise and we need some wellies for him too! I feel this trip to Clarks is going to be very expensive!

My dd's pre-school is £6 a session and is attached to a school. She will get the 15 hours free in September, which is the term after she turned 3. All the fees will be sorted out by the pre-school themselves through the council, so I don't have to worry about it.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 20:43

those wee shoes are gorgeous holly. I think I'll keep DD in cruisers for as long as possible as well. DS had proper shoes from the off and they just seemed very clumpy.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/06/2008 21:01

There is something about ickle baby shoes that makes me feel all broody. We have some soft shoes for the jamlet, mainly for show, but also for warmth. But they were sized by age and I guess soon we will have to get her measured up. Hope she doesn't have feet like mine - on Clark's measures the best they can come up with is 5.5H, except I'm actually wider than an H. I have some Clark's children's lace up shoes in a 6.5H that fit fairly well, or if I'm buying ladies' shoes I normally have to get a 7 or 8.

Dh brought some shopping home earlier, so I was seeing what he'd got, holding the jamlet perched on the kitchen counter. While we were chatting she reached behind her, took a nectarine out of the fruit bowl and started munching But somehow I forgot her pre-bed BF as part of the bedtime routine so while she went off to sleep OK, I can't help wondering if she'll wake in the night? Maybe I should have been prompted to feed her when I saw her scrumping from the fruit bowl? I'm a neglectful mummy

We have bought baggins soft shoes for his birthday present. They are the nearest thing I've found here to the ones my sis sent me from NZ for DS1 (and it seems I only have one of those now). I got him a little teddy too, we SO don't need any more toys but am still . But we may well put some money to any b'day money he gets and get him a ride-on trike thing with a parent handle so he can join in with the big boys. Will have to see what Grandma sends.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 21:09

It'll be interesting to see whether or not she sleeps all night jammy.....and then you can get broody again if she does

hey mhc...I miss the Fife coast so much. which beaches were you at?

OP posts:
HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/06/2008 21:10

My ds won't go to sleep without a bf! I think I need to rectify that one! He bfs most of the night too...oh and most of the day! I think my boobs are going to fall off!

I think I might go to bed. Dp is watching the footie (for a change), dd is in bed and ds is asleep on the sofa, so I'm bored. A good opportunity to snuggle up with ds and a book!

Night all x

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 21:14

ria, DD only got her ride on and a couple of books from us. We have so much stuff left over from DS that it seemed pointless to buy any more. She has now got some proper girly stuff, but I suppose of they are all DSs then you are pretty much covered for stuff!

It's bloody cold here tonight...am considering putting the heating on, but the thought of a 40% hike in fuel bills is scaring me off. It's going to be horrible this winter with a newborn and no fecking money to pay for the gas...looks like I'll need to find a baby group that's on every day!

OP posts:
justRia · 18/06/2008 21:18

you could walk round B&Q every day. What ride-on does DD have?

Why is HFW taking haridressers fishing? Where the entertainment in thin pretty girlies squealing?

justRia · 18/06/2008 21:19

scuse my typing. AM perfectly sober, just out of practise (and it's dark)

DKMA · 18/06/2008 21:20

Hey everyone!

I've just had a barney with dh cos I've put the heating on here (it's very cold) and he seems to think he is in charge around here

Joining in on the ickle shoe stuff - we got the little fella measured on Friday and he is 4.5H - then we spent all weekend trying to find cruisers in an H fitting! Not many places stock H but we got his some in the end but only for walking outside / pub / garden / farm etc.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 21:21

dark here too ria and I can't be arsed getting off the sofa!

It's this one but it was cheaper than that in Toys'R'Us!

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/06/2008 21:32

Well, I just had to go up and feed her. So no getting broody for me.

Not cold here thankfully, but yes it does affect your bills (never mind rising fuel costs) being at home, especially with a newborn. Think we will be investing in some thick jumpers this autumn!

justRia · 18/06/2008 21:32

that's the sort of thing I'm after. will hopefully hit the boot sales on Sunday so will keep an eye out then as was thinking of a tent/shelter too. I can't believe how unorganised I am. Poor neglected third child.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/06/2008 21:34

Ria - you never commented on your anticpation of new Top gear this weekend. And I had a dream about James May and Richard Hammond last night - I was involved in something with them and I was playing the part of Jeremy Clarkson!

justRia · 18/06/2008 21:37

sorry jammy, I meant to comment last night but I forgot in my hurry to watch Kingdom. I didn't know there was new Top Gear (have been sidetracked by adopting Poland as my team for Euro), I expect we'll watch. DSD is going to see it live she is having to "borrow" a man as you have to go as part of a couple (DH offered). I still have the dreams. I#ve never actually been one of them though..
