I got chickenpox when I was 4 and nearly died from it - I took almost 4 months off school. But I am not worried about DS, he is still running around destroying the house and terrorising the dog.

I have had to buy him some proper trainers now, as he likes walking when we go shopping etc. He has a temper tantrum if he doesn't get a few minutes on his feet. They are so massive on him they look like moon boots.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/06/2008 07:15

Welcome back Ria

Fury, hope you have a good rest of the week relaxing.

I went to sleep super early last night, and feel almost normal again, hooray!

Seansgirlthesequel · 18/06/2008 09:57

LOL about DS terrorising the dog Fury, as you say he is obviously not feeling too bad.

Hiya Sputnik! Are you coming back to the uk again this summer? Is the weather glorious in your neck of the woods now? >

Seansgirlthesequel · 18/06/2008 09:59

OOPs!!! Just noticed the time. Think I better go and get ready to go and see my friend with her new 2 week old DD, like Holly she gave birth to a toddler 9lbs 14oz!!!!!

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 10:06

Yay for a full night's sleep . My DCs slept till after 7:30 this morning (although DD was up at 6 for her milk), so i got to have a shower without DS wandering in and out of the bathroom making comments on my lady bits, or DD pulling at the shower curtain and loading the bottom of the bath with bath toys.....felt like I was a normal adult again.

DD has just gotten scratched by the cat across the back of her hand and wrist. The cat gave her several warnings by hissing at raising a paw, but DD just thinks it's funny and hisses back. I'd like to think she has learnt a lesson, but I don't think sje will have. And I can't be cross at the cat, as she puts up with a lot and has only ever lashed out twice.

Am off into town this morning, for a wee pootle around the shops and a coffee with a friend....who will hopefully agree to lending me her baby should I get the twin buggies to test

The weather has been really crap here actually, though not too bad today.

Probably not as bad as Birmingham though

Seansgirlthesequel · 18/06/2008 10:19

windy, rainy.... need I say more...

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 10:33

morning. it's good to be back, I have missed this. (We have a pattern - I go away for a few days, DH presses the wrong button and buggers up the PC).

Is there anything I should know about before I jump in feet first and offend anyone?

very frustrating morning as baggins grumpy as hell and I want to clean the bookcase. Sis arrives next Thursday. Am scared.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/06/2008 10:49

Morning chickens!

Good to see you back ria, I have missed you! Can't get enough of the ria wit!!

Less of the dodgy pram hun daisy (well it is a bit dodgy, but shhhh!!)! I shall get a Vibe and it shall be mine all mine, I shall love it and polish it and not ever take it outside and definately not let any children near it, they are too dirty and sticky !!

I've just passed my theory test. Piece of piss! The time limit was 1.5 hours and I did it in 20 mins. It was well easy! Thank goodness it's out of the way...just my practical to do now and I shall be free as a bird (well, sort of)!

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 11:01

baggins asleep on me and I need to get dressed to collect DS2 from nursery and I have not cleaned the bookcase. I have been reading this thread.

I tripped over my bucket of water earlier and soaked the bedroom carpet. bollox.

well done on the theory test holly.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/06/2008 11:04

Isn't Victoria Beckham a stupid fucking bitch?! I have just had a email from a website that sells cheap clothes saying they had some VB jeans in stock. I just went to have a look, just through curiosity, and found that they only go up to a 30 inch waist (size 12) and apparently that is "large". Way to make people feel good about themselves!

Annoying skinny cow!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 18/06/2008 11:05

Welcome back to MN ria! The housework is far less important!

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 11:16

I could have a pair for each leg if I lose some weight

5 more minutes and I will go and get dressed...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 18/06/2008 12:31

Afternoon!

Well done on the theory test Holly

Hospital visit was fine. They didn't find anything wrong with her eyes but will see her again in a year's time as I have a family history of problems. She was really good all morning too, sat and played nicely in the waiting room with a 10 month old baby girl, was smiley and happy all the way through the test, had a nice doze while we walked round the shops waiting for the bus, and charmed all the old dears on the bus home with smiles and giggles

I think they get free nursery places when they 3 ? X hours per week, not full time.

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 14:16

I think DS2 gets 12 hours funded nursery, we have to fill in a form every term, even though it's part of the primary school. I think he got his last term of playgroup free too, because he was 3.

toofattoflounce · 18/06/2008 14:17

thats rubbish, it must be 15 hours because it's 9-12, Mon- Fri

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 15:54

mhc, have you been poorly? sorry if I missed you saying it and seeming insensitive

i went shopping , and got new trainers ofr DS, new shoes for DD and some white thong sandals for me....all in Clark's Sale. The assistant was a bit scathing about DD as I refused to put her in 2.5H shoes (currently in 2.5F) and got a pair of 3G instead as they were in the sale. Didn't want to get another pair of 2.5 as she will be out of them before long, and the 3G fitted fine in the width, if a wee bit long in the length. she said I wouldn't be able to bring them back as they were a "customer fit". anyhoo, three pairs of shoes for £40 isn't bad.

got an email about car seats as well this morning, but am probably too late to reply as I've only just got in.

Lol at not leting the DCs in the Vibe holly

Hi Ria...good to have you back with us.

lackaDAISYcal · 18/06/2008 15:57

We used to get money from the council for DS when he was in private nursery. It starts the first school term after their third birthday and iirc, it equates to 15 hours per week in termtime only. If your DC is in private nursery (It worked out about £270 per term for us), you get it as money off your fees, if they are in the school nursery, I think the school can claim the money directly.
