I got that e-mail but didn't get everyone's contact details....bit worrying that....I get enough spam as it is

This baby is driving me crazy while feeding, he is pulling hair, pinching my face etc, it is driving me nuts. He thinks it's hillarious.

Hi Norty

lackaDAISYcal · 14/06/2008 17:57

mhc, the course was run by the ABM, on belhalf of a local BF support group called Breast Buddies and the course was run on association with the ABM. The badge is just my ID badge, but says I am a volunteer and peer supporter. I've also got some posters that I can out up locally with my contact details on.

What is quite exciting though is that there isn't an ABM presence in Leeds (the BFC today was from York) so there will be opportunities to help set something up here. I'm interested in looking into BFCing as a possible career change rather than just as a volunteer, if that's possible.

I've emailed the M&B lady to tell her. It looks like she put them in cc, rather than bcc. I did wonder whether to do "send to all" to let all the names on the list know, but I thought that might hamper my chances of getting picked

Hi Norty . How are you?

I thought lactation consultant was just a fancy name for a BFC?

Hi all. Hope MHC & SG's DSs had good birthday (though realise the MHC household has not been good today )

Party went well. We were out in the garden all afternoon. The jamlet's 2 friends seemed to enjoy the paddling pool more than her, but I think she had fun all the same. We have strawberries & birthday cake smeared into the grass all over the garden (better than the carpet ) so the birds can have a feast later. She's worn out now so hopefully a better night tonight. Photos are on FB by the way.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/06/2008 18:34

And first 2 teeth came through about a month ago and number 3 is just through.

Hi ladies ...sorry I just posted and buggered off.

Someone has done a thread for absent fathers for father's day, I've added mine in and read everyone elses and ended up in flood of tears

Been shopping today....why can I not find fitted wardrobes in dark wood ....am I behind the times or not in touch with current trends or something?

lackaDAISYcal · 14/06/2008 19:29

oh, norty . I couldn't read it, too upsetting. My Dad passed away on Father's Day three years ago . It was his anniversary on Thursday. This time of year is always very poignant as a result.

I disappeared as well...my new laptop with a bettery that is supposed to last for three hours.......fades after about 50 mins from fully charged . I will be taking it back on Monday.

Hi All,

Sorry have been so out of touch but just heard JBM's sad news & wanted to say how sorry I am. Thinking of you. Hope you're looking after yourself.

Best wishes to all our little one year olds. Our turn on Mon but celebrating tomorrow. Just a wee tea party with the family but a good excuse to scoff sausage rolls & cake all day.

buntinglicious · 14/06/2008 20:10

Sorry to Norty and Daisy, thinking of you tomorrow. Very sad for you.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 14/06/2008 20:26

Norty, Daisy - and anyone else who's Dad is no longer around - for you, it must be really hard. I can't imagine not having my Dad around. But I know that one day he won't be.

Jamlet took ages to get to sleep. I think she was overtired with all the excitement, bless her.

LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2008 20:27

Daisy, it'll be 3 years for me this year as well.....it is upsetting to read that thread, but lovely as well IYKWIM.

Hi Talluah....long time, no "see"

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/06/2008 20:41

Hey Norty. Nice to see you too.

LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2008 20:52

Hows work going Talluah? Are you back full-time?

lackaDAISYcal · 14/06/2008 20:53

hi tallulah

great to see you again.

i have just been whiling away a few minutes looking on here for job/career inspiration.

I got a letter from my professional governing body telling me that as I haven't paid my fees I'm no longer entitled to call myself a chartered engineer or member of the professional body. I can either pay it and not use it, or pay it all back to rejoin if I ever get another engineering job in the future, when I'll have to do a retraining course and interview to see if I'm still up to the grade. Not sure what to do. I suppose the office will pay it if I send it in and that will give me some more thinking time, at least for this and next year. And although I don't really want to go back to it, I'm a bit sad as I worked bloody long and hard to get to where I was and it seems a waste to chuck it all away. But £260 a year for nothing other than a few initials after my name seems a waste (especially as we are officially skint). aaaargggh decisions decisions.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2008 20:57

Difficult one Daisy....I'm state registered and I have to say, that I pay it - working or not, cos its such a faff getting re-registered....and like you, I couldn't practice without it.....it really depends on whether you will return to the profession - not necessarily your current job....

buntinglicious · 14/06/2008 21:08

Norty, remind me what it is that you do?

Soory to ignore you T, how are you?

LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2008 21:11

I'm a Scientist Bumper, but as I report out results independently, I'm legally responsible for my own work....hence state registration....if I get it wrong, I could be sued!

lackaDAISYcal · 14/06/2008 21:11

I don't want to return to it, but at some point I will probably have to for financial reasons

I know work will pay it for this year and next when I'm on ML, but I feel bit guilty knowing that I have no intention of going back.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorty · 14/06/2008 21:14

I'd go for it. Wish my work paid for us - we're responsible for our own bloody fees - although I do get the tax back.

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/06/2008 21:15

Hi Daisy, Bumper .

Am back at work full time Norty, but am dropping a day when the new term starts in August. Can't wait to have the day back to spend with DD - who'd have thought a year ago that sitting on a library floor singing Little Peter Rabbit with a bunch of demented mums would be more appealing than an honest day's work?
