fnf1- dd takes about 32 oz a day. She's not been too interested the past few days either, so I don't think she's a good example!

MamaFormerlyKnownAsGlam · 13/08/2008 16:18

Hi all,

DS takes around that amount fitnfortyone. Sometimes 48oz a day. He normally has five 8oz bottles a day and from today is having 3 meals a day.

Had him weighed yesterday for first time since 6 week check, a whoppimg massive 19 lb 14oz. He is on the 91st percentile for both weight and height so I'm hoping he will be as tall as he is round. He is tall though, 9 month sleepsuits are too short in the leg and foot but have to be rolled up at the wrists. I'm only 5 foot 2 so I'm guessing he gets his long legs from his dad.

I found a childminder, liked her but had a total meltdown at the thought of leaving DS and the whole logistics of school, childminder and work. So, I phoned the Tax Credit helpline and discovered that the help we would get if DP was at home works out roughly the same as his earnings. So Daddy is going to stay at home and I get to go to work. Apparently I will also get my lunches made for me as well . It'sa win win situation at the moment as I hate Dp's job as a motorbike courier (although I will miss the sexy boot and jean combo .

So, better go and see if my home made lentil wedge thingy is cool enough for DS. I have my good mummy hat on today, tomorrow is another day.

Take care all.

merryberry · 13/08/2008 16:30

mama, get him to write is own sahd JD, but insist on a boots/chaps clause. then its win win win

MamaFormerlyKnownAsGlam · 13/08/2008 16:35

I like that idea. It will include ;- Make Glam's butties whilst only wearing motorbike boots and helmet. . If only.....

MB. I was happy and sad to hear of your diagnosis, iyswim. Happy because you now have confirmation and can get treatment, and sad because it sounds so painful and debilitating. Wishing you strength and fortitude, my dear.

merryberry · 13/08/2008 17:27

WWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!! i managed to not cry this pm until that, but thank you. my fortitude is wafer thin right now, sad to say. need something to come along and boost me through tbh. don't know what. can't think it all through, as am having to disassociate myself from myself and sort of go through the days on remote in order to not cave in. this am, felt quite comfy, got a bit active, started thinking more and whammo, got upset. but again, thank you.

maybe send your dp to here in said outfit to boost me up. dh has many qualities, but looking good nekked in boots is unlikely to be one.

MamaFormerlyKnownAsGlam · 13/08/2008 17:47

MB, sorry for making you cry . I could send DP round (he can get there quickly- he's a courier!) but you'd only end up crying again when he left.

fitnfortyone · 13/08/2008 17:52

MB, I'd send my DH round, but you'd end up aching more from laughter
Maybe you can win the lottery to afford to emigrate somewhere hot and take the friends/rellies you want with you!

thank you, you two here's hoping you are enjoying your naked/booted/funny men. my poor man is out working til 10pm, getting the next few big jobs lined up...busy times.

ComeOVeneer · 13/08/2008 22:01

Does missingmyheels post on this thread? If so has she perhaps been away or name changed? I am trying to get in contact with her asap to sort out her dd's christening cake.

littleducks · 13/08/2008 22:03

she is now ewe i believe

BashfulSleepyHappy · 13/08/2008 22:05

Hey ladies! Derah here, with new name.

Just popping in cos someone called ComeOVeneerwas looking for MissingMyHeels, aka Ewe.

thread here

Just skimmed through the last few posts, glad to see things are generally going well for everyone. My LO has finally morphed from howling horror into smiley happy, generally contented baby. Phew! She's still waking a few times a night, but I've given up and just feed her with us both lying down and I go back to sleep!

Sorry for being MIA - I guess it's time I came back into the fold!!

BashfulSleepyHappy · 13/08/2008 22:06

Oops, x-post!

littleducks · 13/08/2008 22:15

welcome back!!!!!!!

was thinking of your lovely dd how has she adjusted to her sister?

dd still pokes and prods her brother out jealousy but is first in line to defend him if she thinks someone else would harm him!

ComeOVeneer · 13/08/2008 22:21

Thans everyone. If you see her around please ask her to CAT me and/or check her email as I need to speak to her before the weekend as I am then away for 2 week and christening is then the following weekend.

BashfulSleepyHappy · 13/08/2008 22:25

Hey littleducks. They just adore each other!! DD2 smiles for anyone but only laughs for DD1, and DD1 can't get enough of her little sister. I never realised the best part of having 2 DCs is watching them together! [soft and squishy feeling emoticon]

HolidaysQueen · 13/08/2008 23:00

hello derah/BSH!!! Welcome back. V glad things are going better with your DD2. FWIW, my DS is waking twice at night. Once around 10.30-11ish and once around 3.30. Often enough he throws in a third waking just for fun...

DS had final set of jabs today (delayed due to there being no nurse at doctors, and then DS was ill) - he screamed and screamed while she did them, but has been fine since. I'm very glad that that is it until he is 13 months. He had a swimming lession this morning before the jabs - was dunked for the first time. His face was so funny when he re-emerged - too confused and surprised to cry! We had tonnes of giggles and even a few belly laughs throughout the class so he is clearly a Michael Phelps in waiting I can heartily recommend Aquababies if anyone is looking for classes - the teacher is excellent and very good with the babies, and the class structure works really well.

turtle23 · 14/08/2008 08:50

Have texted Ewe for you.

maybelaterdarling · 14/08/2008 10:24

Hi folks not been around for a while, went to stay at parents last week for a few nights which was a pleasant break from the routine. I agree BSH, the best thing about having more than one child is watching them interact - it does bring a tear to the eye. But saying that I'm struggling with the 'summer' hols, this pants weather is awful, we're going to wrap up and go to the park in the minute as I'm going crazy staying inside.

I'm also really struggling with sleep deprevation, the best he slept was as a newborn, when we would often get 6 or 7 hours up until about 8 weeks, and then sporadically since then. But for the last three weeks or so it's been wake up at 10.30 for a feed, then 2, 4 and sometimes as a special treat 6 aswell. In the words of dd2, 'snot fair'! dd1 and dd2 were both sleeping well by about 8 weeks (10 til 5 kind of thing) so this is a real shock. I'm trying not to sulk about it but it's not easy.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis Merry. I guess you've been in pain for some time and at least now you know that something will start to happen. I know nothing about it, but a friend was diagnosed about 6 months ago and says that the medication has made a vast difference. I hope you get plenty of support and everything else that you need.

I'm looking forward to September when both dd1 and dd2 are at school as I can start taking Aaron swimming. He adores his bath, he gets really excited and giggly when he gets undressed and you pick him up to put him in it. Now he's in the big bath we fill it up just a little bit and just lie him down and he goes crazy (with delight). It's great to have your hands free too and hurts my back less.

WinkyGirl · 14/08/2008 13:47

I haven't posted on here for AGES but have been lurking.

DS is 5 months old on Saturday! He weighs 18lb 8oz so is a chubby little fellow. I am bf but he gets 1 ff per day at 11pm. He still wakes once in the night (groan.)

We are planning to introduce solids in a few weeks so I have been reading your experiences with interest.

DD (26 months) loves DS and I agree its lovely seeing them laugh with each other.

Right, I promise to join in and not just lurk

Ewe · 14/08/2008 14:41

Hi all,

Thanks for pointing COV in the right direction/texting me - have been having lots of internet problems and it's safe to say I HATE Virgin Media . On top of my internet never working I have been charged £138 for phone calls that it would be impossible for me to make as they have not bothered to turn up to three, yes three, installation appointments . Rant over.

Good to see you back derah and even better to hear that DD has morphed into a little angel. And bloody well done on the bfing turtle, you've had a really tough time of it.

My two week holiday was fab and DD flew very well, she is now sitting unaided for good periods of time but apart from about twice she never ever rolls!

Been starting food play this week and she's been gnawing away on broccoli stems, carrots, banana etc. I think I'm going to enjoy baby led weaning, it's great fun watching her feed herself.

Have started back at work doing odd days to build up to my return full time in Sept I am still getting over the shock that my nursery fees are over a grand a month Expect lots more posts from me when I am back at work though!

merryberry · 14/08/2008 14:56

lol. don't mumsnet work too hard ewe

noolia · 14/08/2008 14:58

Just gave dd her fist bit of food - a bit of brocolli. She shoved it in her mouth and gummed at it, looked pretty unimpressed and did a lot of green dribble. It was quite impressive how a small bit of vegetable can spread so far!
I'm also just about to post my resignation to work. I feel a bit weird about it but the part tme hours they offered were arranged so that I'd hardly make any money after childcare & petrol costs. Quite looking forward to being a SAHM but a bit sad at lost career too!
turtle - noticed you have a thread in the allergies bit about eczema, did it improve? my dd has a bit and i'm also thinking it could be a dairy thing. hope the feeding is still going well!

Ewe · 14/08/2008 15:01

Aww noolia, food is fun isn't it? Just uploaded a new pic of Tilly eating her brocolli.

I plan to mumsnet work incredibly hard MB

Ewe · 14/08/2008 15:03

Oh and did I hear a meet up mentioned? Would be good to do something whilst it's still summer (ha!) if so.

turtle23 · 14/08/2008 15:23

noolia-turns out that every suncream in the world irritates his skin. Needless to say, haven't needed any lately!
