I hope I manage to do this right...I'll kick everything off with a roll call if it does.

Hi everyone

Dal! You and Inzi! Can't believe you name changed to tell people - you have to tell us first, okay?!

Anyasmum, I read through your posts and I understand what you mean about looking forward too soon. What stands out for me about Anya is her exuberance and energy. In York last time she made the other babies all look positively lazy. The first time she gave it all she had with her lungs. Anya is I reckon the Baby Most Likely to be Famous of our lot, because she certainly knows her own mind and has an instant impact on people. But I understand what you mean about taking it slowly and I think you probably need to give yourself space to grieve what Anya could have done and can't, even as you realize that she will do a million times better and more than that and will exceed your hopes at every stage.
Oh and I can just see her, aged fourteen, stropping when you want her to wear something she doesn't like. I can't see her giving in

Hi everyone else! That was something of an essay! Floria, J20, sorry about the sleep. I have a theory that the less you get, the less you start to need, but if you have suddenly been used to a bit better sleep, then a bad night is a shocker. Keep forgetting to say, Floria, can I come round to dinner with Alex sometime? His meals sound delish!

Hi Inzi, Sea World sounds great. R likes looking at the fish at the garden centre so I bet she'd adore that!

Hi Muppet, glad Henry's moving - he will be Most Contented Baby in the future I reckon...

Lisa, glad the party went well! are you packed? where are you off to?

Well done all for your weight posting. I confess I don't know what I weigh!

We saw Alice on Weds. You would have laughed: Alice was looking after a friend's toddler, who's Sam's friend, then there were Adam and Rebecca. The toddlers were so funny and we put the babies together in a laundry basket, whereupon Adam immediately began pulling his favourite toys from Rebecca, who thought it was a game and didn't mind...

Good news from here is that we're almost ready to exchange as long as nothing else goes wrong (is there a fingers crossed emoticon??). Can't believe it! Keep fingers crossed for us!

AnyasMum07 · 13/06/2008 20:05

It's been very quiet in here - where is everybody?

Choc - such lovely words, thank you. at the idea that Anya might be famous! And yes, I'm dreading the toddler and teenage tantrums - she's already got her 'cross face' perfected. Fingers crossed for your move.

Dal - I second Choc - you should absolutely tell us first!

Is anybody else finding that their lo's are eating less solids? Anya used to stuff everything in her mouth but now it gets examined very carefully, then chewed, spat out, re-examined and thrown on the floor. This is all stuff she generally likes, but only a very few favourite things actually get eaten now. Anybody else having this?

Dalrymps · 13/06/2008 20:34

Anyasmum - yes I get this, Dylan went from eating everything to deciding what he likes on different days, he still has a few favourites but won't just eat anything anymore and some days he likes something but the next day he won't eat that same thing?!
Sorry I name changed everyone, wasn't sure if I should even mention it as I thought I was over reacting a bit seen as though I was only 2 days late!

Oh inzi, hope all is ok, isn't it right that it's best if they get it when they're younger? Not that i'd wish chickenpox on anyone... When I had them I think my mum put calomine lotion on me? If thats what it is. ((hugs))

Glad they called you back inzi, hope Jane is not feeling too bad. Hopefully it won't last long and will clear up quickly ((hugs)). Off to bed now, hope you get a good nights sleep, night x

FloriaTosca · 14/06/2008 13:00

Hi
Inzi; Hope you got a decent night and Jane is as well as can be expected with chickenpox...When Alex was exposed to it I looked up a few handy hints so I was prepared (he didnt get them in the end)Apparently aloe vera gel is fantastic at cooling and stopping the itching..porrige oats put in a sock, soaked in running bath water and the "milk" dabbed on the spots while bathing helps them heal too..calomine lotion dries out quicker than calomine cream so cream is better....and everyone kept telling me that it would be better having them while he was very young rather than later. Hope she gets better soon.(((hugs)))

FloriaTosca · 14/06/2008 13:31

Anyasmum; "yes" to the reduced solidsAlex is exactly the same..sometimes refusing foods that I thought were favourites (even Tescos finest strawberries!!!which he'd normally devour in 10secs flat!)and as Alice aptly put it throwing it on the dog to "wear"..other times eating normally...I think it must be a phase it will pass He is generally better if it is finger food or he is given a spoon to feed himself with (mr independance strikes again)

Hello ladies! Can't believe its so long since I was on here! Have been trying to catch up - hope I haven't missed anything!

Anyasmum I couldn't put it better than the others esp Choc! I totally understand you being upset - it's surely normal to grieve for what your child won't be able to do if they have any form of disability however minor. However, she is such a big personality I am sure nothing will hold her back!

Inzi if she has chickenpox I actually think that is great! Sam had it at 15 months and he barely turned a hair... If she does and you lived nearer I would be there like a shot and trying to get Adam to give her a snog! It's definately milder when they're small.

J2O and Floria sorry to hear your lo's have been poorly... Fingers crossed all settling now...

Choc fingers and toes crossed!

Dal! No name changing for news like that young lady!!!!!

Hello everyone else!!! Hope you're all well...

Not much news from this end. I had a busy on call on Thurs and didn't get home until after 1 which was a bit knackering. Today has been fab though - we've been to a farm this am and Sam really loved it! He was so excited to see all the animals and we went on a tractor ride too! Adam was more bemused but liked the chipmunks and took it all in...

I am here, was just wondering where everyone is too. Sorry you're no further forward with finding out what the problem is. If it's doesn't get any better I would insist on seeing a gp if I were you. Although if shes gone to sleep with a bit of calpol i'm sure it's not too serious and nothing to worry about too much. Follow your instinct though, you know her best!
You looking forward to fathers days tomorrow? I am, have really enjoyed buying dh little gifts from Dylan

well probably just have a lazy day then go down to pils. As i'm not on speaking terms with my parents won't be seeing my dad sent him a card though saying I was thinking of him.
Just wrapped dh's pressies, got him loads of silly little things , wrapped them in homer simpson paper cause Dylan stops everything when the simpsons is on and just stares at the tv .
What time does your dh finish work? you gonna have time to be together a bit?

FloriaTosca · 15/06/2008 09:08

Just wrote a whole missive and the computer threw a wobbler and lost it!!!
Got to go do Dh fathers day breakfast in bed now...(need to show him what I expect next mothers day after this years fiasco)
Inzi hope Jane is ok today and you didnt need anymore hospital visits
Happy Father day to all the other halves!

Inzi - glad Jane was ok over night but how frustrating for you - it's so much easier if you know what is wrong with them even if you can't do anything to treat it. If she's no better this morning I would definitely go back to the clinic today. Trust your instincts - you know your baby better than anyone and if you know that she's not well, don't be fobbed off by a nurse telling you otherwise.

Alice - we miss you on here! Glad Sam enjoyed the farm.

FT - I got a lie in too today! Anya was up at 2am and then I couldn't get back to sleep for AGES so I overslept this morning. But it was lovely this morning - the 3 of us in bed while dh got his card and pressies. Didn't get loads of stuff - Anya had done a footprints thing on a card with a poem in babygroup last week so he got that plus a photo of her - it's one we got done professionally (a freebie from that babyfair ages ago) but dh hadn't seen it yet so I got it framed. This afternoon we're off to his other dd's where we'll get a lovely meal and dh will get a shedload of chocolate!

Just waiting for Anya to wake from her nap and then we're having french toast. Yummy!

Have a good day all.

Hello ... back from France - not a chance of catching up ... although have just wrote muppetgirl's thing on pnd ... you write sooooo well: you should try to see if you can interest any of the womens' magazines in it ...

France was fab ... Mairwen now has 2 teeth, is crawling (more of a cross between bottom-shuffling and crawling really, but she's self-propelled ), and is pulling herself up to standing and cruising around the furniture ... WHERE DID MY PLONKABLE BABY GO?

Boo... have a mountain of washing to do ... anybody fancy giving me a synopsis of what's happened the past 2 weeks?

alicet · 15/06/2008 18:57

Hello crochet! Have missed you - looking forwards to hearing all about France...

Inzi hope Jane's batter today. WOuld second the others who say you know your baby b est and if you htink she's still not right go and get her seen... Although to reassure you about noone knowing what it was it's actually really really common for babies to get rashes - at the drop of a hat really - and when I saw a baby with one when I did A&E I would make sure there was nothing seriously wrong with him / her and then reassure Mum and Dad that it was likely to be nothing - most of the time couldn't give a diagnosis.

Hello dal, floria and anyasmum and I'm also in the camp who got a lie in this am! Dh and I take turns at the weekend and it was mine today! My boys both made cards at nursery and I got one too and wrote a lovely message in that made him cry! We got a mug made too with loads of photos on. We don't go for big pressies here - apart from dh spoiling me with the NZ flights for Christmas! Just tend to do small stuff...

Anyway just off to cook dinner while dh puts Sam to bed (Adam already asleep)... See you all tomorrow. Poss later but likely tomorrow.

alicet · 15/06/2008 18:59

OK so please excuse all the typos (esp 'Hope Jane's batter' !!!! Just very lazy about correcting them - usually my finger slips! I'm not as bad at spelling as you might think!

strawberrylace · 15/06/2008 19:14

hello everyone
hope you are all ok, and that jane is feeling better inzi
I'm just popping on while dh is playing lego indiana jones on the xbox - his fathers day present! actually is quite amusing to watch - much better than most of the games he has. then we are going to order pizza for tea!
i took ds to my sister's overnight on friday - did face painting at my eldest nephew's school fete on friday and for my niece's birthday on saturday! my sis's DS2 is a couple of months older than DS - was amusing to watch them crawl up to each other and then have a wild-west style stand-off while they worked out what to do next! there used to be a big size difference, but not any more!

alicet · 15/06/2008 19:48

Hello strawberry!

Its funny isn't it - 2 months makes a massive difference when they're tiny but doesn't take long before it's insignificant does it?

FloriaTosca · 16/06/2008 17:51

Goodness we are quiet at the moment.

Crotchet;Glad you had a fab time in France. Wow! at Mairwens progress,(foreign holidays do seem to be developmental hot houses dont they?) the teeth....good luck with the washing mont blanc.I'd do a synopsis if only I could remember what has been going on...someone please add to this...Chocs house sale nearly fell through but is back on and imminent fingers crossed. alice has been busy busy busy and a bit down but has invited us all to a bbq at her house sometime this summer. J20 went on a bit of a risky date and had us all clucking like mother hens but he was too opinionated so all is ok except that Shannon has a cold and is teething and not sleeping. Inzis has bravely posted her weight and is now dieting and Jane has been giving her chickenpox scares. Dal hasnt told us how she has been feeling since she saw her doctor and said it made her feel better so I'm hoping all is well with her. Anya passed her consult about her neck and her mum got a great job.LLL is as fit as a fiddle. Muppets boys are being funny and gorgeous. And my Alex has got me utterly exhausted, as when he isnt demanding walking practise holding my fingers(usually while dribbling a ball at the same time)he is unexpectedly launching himself off on a 4-5 step unassisted run into nowhere so I have to react like greased lightening to prevent more falls...ooops got to go he needs his potty again
