I hope I manage to do this right...I'll kick everything off with a roll call if it does.

Stefka - I would pull his blankets off quicker than he could say 'i'm busy'

Inzi - at you ttc! Point taken about the running shoes, will get on to it asap.

muppetgirl · 21/08/2008 13:36

I love my running shoes
I got them from a proper running shop who did the measuring and filmed me running to assess gait extra. I have had no blisters and think this is definately the way to go.

Would birmingham be a good rfl for us all to do?
xx

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 13:56

Birmingham fine by me. Your runnibg shoes sound amazing! Unfortunately I don't have much money to get mine so it'll be a trip to sports direct in town to get the best I can afford . Sure whatever I get will be better than normal trainers?!

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 14:16

running shoes!

alicet · 21/08/2008 20:48

Muppet def liking the idea of a meetup for the rfl. AS for whether I run or just cheer you on I'll have to see . I have been going to Pilates for a couple of weeks to build up my core body strength as my abdominals are stretched to f*ck from 2 babies and sections in quick succession...

J2O def up for meeting next wed. I'll mail you and also think of some good places to go. You are really close to the quayside which has loads of lovely places to go so you will be spoilt for choice...

Dal, Inzi, Stefka and the rest of you helo! Sorry no time to respond personally to anyone else as I am cooking tea at the mo and I'm really really hungry! Might be back later...

muppetgirl · 21/08/2008 21:05

Hi all
well Birmingham looks a great venue for us all to meet up. The race this year was late June early July so I would think it would be the same time next year. This gives us all plenty of time to arrange things. I can think of nothing better to do on a sunday morning than run/walk/hop/skip 5k with some lovely ladies I met whilst pregnant with Henry.

You're all fab ladies and thank you for all of your support over the past year

By the way the Harrods Father Christmas booking is open -tickets are free and going fast. Go to their website and click on the link in the top right hand corner. We went last year and it was fab (and free)
zzzz

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 21:07

Hey alice, at you going for pilates, not sure I can afford the classes at our local gym but have a book and dvd so am going to try to do it at home.

Well I managed to get myself some running trainers, they were on sale at sports direct but are really nice for how much they cost, VI Ladies&sku=27166601260&pf_id=271666 here, you think they'll be ok?

Hope you've all had a nice day x

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 21:09

Hey muppet x posted, you've made me all emotional now

Stefka · 21/08/2008 21:59

DH got back in the good books by buying a load of meat for the boy and cooking it all up. I don't eat meat so not a task I want! He's off to work now.

I fancy pilates but no time or money right now! It's meant to be really good for you.

The boy went down easily just after seven and so far not a peep out of him. Tonight is night four so we will see what happens!

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 22:09

Stefka - lol at 'the boy'. Hope tonight goes well

AAWWWww Muppet!!! ((((Giant group hug))))))We have all seen each other through some real highs and lows over the last 18 months or so..I personally dont know how I would have done it and maintained what is left of my sanity without all of you so I think run (or in my case stroll)for life/meet up is a fab idea...personally I'd just be happy to be a couple of stones lighter and able to walk the distance without puffing and blowing but it would be most appropriate that those of us who met here on line while bringing new life into the world should all meet face to face at the race for life. Count me in.

Stefka; I think it was J20 who came up with calling our bumps "piggies" because last year was the chinese year of the pig...the name seems to have stuck Well done with the sleep...hope tonight works like a charm

J20; I started a post the other day commiserating on DD1s behaviour but the computer bombed out and I didnt get round to doing it again...sorry...I also think she is feeling a bit neglected having had your undivided attention for so long and now having to share you first with Shannon and now with Richie....you are a fab Mum and it isnt your fault that you can't give her 100% of your time and attention...perhaps letting her choose what you all do together and lots of positive re-enforcement (praise for the least/tiniest "good" things)will perhaps help her adjust...??? [hopeful emoticon]

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 22:42

Inzi - Do you think the trainers will be ok? I don't want to do my knee in!
Hi Floria! Hows the sleep going?

Stefka · 22/08/2008 07:24

We started off calling him the boy wonder as in batman and robin because when my DH was wee he loved batman. Anyway it seems to have shortened to just the boy.

Last night was a bit better again. Slept until half 12 - up for less than five minutes, went to sleep on his on. Woke up at half fiveish as DH was coming in from work but went back to sleep on his own again until half six.

I need to go to the gym today but it's really busy there on a Friday morning. I am torn between going early to get it out of the way and just risking the busy time. Or waiting until later on - probably the afternoon. I like to get it out of the way but sometimes when it is busy I can't get on the treadmills or I am under pressure to get off them again because people are waiting.

muppetgirl · 22/08/2008 07:58

Right then lovely ladies I'll let you know more info nearer the time about rfl

I've booked tickets for Father Christmas at Harrods on 16th December so we'll stay over, do the lights, go to Hamleys as we did last year. I'm knackered and I think my endometriosis is back as I was in agony last night and have been having twangs of it for a while. I was hoping it would stay away for as long after having Ollie -2 years but it seems not this time. I have had adhesions separated in the past and I'm thinking something has got stuck together again. I'll give it a while and then go and see the dr. It's real hold onto something and breath like you're giving birth pain so not nice.

Have Darren today and not running as I've got Ollie. Not sure what we'll do but if we're inside it always involves the stairs and nasty toning exercises.

After that we're going to the local ?paint a plate and we'll fire it for you place? for Ollie to design Granddad a 70th birthday plate. I might decorate a jug while I'm there!

Busy weekend, it's dh's birthday tomorrow -not bought a pressie yet I am so crap. we're off to see Crofton beam engines ( a steam back pump for the Kennet and Avon Canal, yes I am a geek) it's actually steaming (ie moving) so Ollie would love it. Dh and I are then going out to dinner in the evening. Dh is running a 1/2 marathon on Sunday and we're meeting friends there who are staying the night and then we're all off to Warwick castle on Monday to watch the jousting. Ollie is as excited as he could possibly be without bursting! (and I am looking forward to see those gorgeous Knights on horseback?..mmmmmmmmmm)

Love to all
x

Stefka - glad the cc is going well, you've done brilliantly!
Inzi/Dal -wonder who will be prgt first

Alice - HI!!!
Crochet -Hope you're having a lovely Holiday I am you at the mo as I loved Tenby!

muppetgirl · 22/08/2008 08:00

oh and we call Henry
Hen
Henny Roo (Henry Rueben)
Baby 'H'

(I call him 'Mr Chubba Chubba' in a shaggy boombastic voice must stop that as I think I'm the only one finding it funny. Ollie looks blankly at me whilst I stand there laughing. Not good to be the only laughing at your own jokes...)

Mine · 22/08/2008 08:28

Muppet i think we're going to Warwick Castle this weekend too!! I was trying to look out for the 2 for 1 offer in one of the sunday papers but i think i missed it.

Oh well, we'll probably still go anyway. I have to go out and buy picnic ingredients for it as we always have a picnic on days out.

Dal i'm very of you ttc !! We've thought about it too but financially we need to wait another year.
I go back to work in 4 weeks so thats the start of the year iyswim..... then we can try again.

Stefka - souds like things are going really well. Well done you for sticking it out. Its hard work but well worth it for your sanity!

Waves and hugs to everyone else i haven;t mentioned!!!

Stefka · 22/08/2008 08:59

I feel rough this morning and I don't know why. Tummy feels upset. Only thing I can think of is I had a glass of wine last night but just one glass. I hope it's not the wine making me feel crap because that is just too depressing!

Stefka · 22/08/2008 09:01

On TTC. We had planned to maybe start trying after Christmas but there is no way we can afford it now. Not sure I feel ready emotionally myself anyway. We need to be able to move house and I need to get a job for that and I can't get one so we're stuck for now. Hopefully we won't have to leave it for too long.

Dalrymps · 22/08/2008 09:02

Muppet - sounds like you've got a lovely weekend planned, am very . Were going to carry on sorting the house out, fun fun fun!

Stefka - Well done on the sleep, sounds like it's really working! Hope you manage to get to the gym, I REALLY need to get going a do some excercise, did walk to town and back yesterday though.

Mine - Hope you have a nice time at Warwick castle, I love picnics! We're not that well off financially either but have just decided to get being broke out of the way all in one go then I should be able to go back to work once the youngest is in nursery/school.

Oh, muppet, I meant to ask you a quesion about my dh. He has a degree in fine art and wpuld really like to be an art teacher (I think he'd be brilliant at it, he taught some sculpture classes at uni and life drawing classes tat I was the model for and he did great). Anyway, i've been reading on the internet that theres a scheme where you can get your teaching qualification on the job and there is funding for you to get paid a proper wage (£14000+). Just wondered if you knew anything about it? It's more of a long term plane over the next few years but we're just trying to find out more about it. I realise you're not actuall teaching at the moment but just wondered, if you don't know anything then no worries.

Dalrymps · 22/08/2008 09:22

Appologies for all the typos!
Stefka - maybe it's just that particular wine that made you feel off? I think you should try a different type tonight just to make sure

ChocolateHobnob · 22/08/2008 13:10

Hello everyone! It's my birthday today and I wanted to celebrate with you all by actually managing to post a message instead of reading all your chatter, starting to reply and being interrupted! Grr. Anyway here goes...

Dal: I think you've already started TTC and aren't really waiting till Jan. Keep us posted if you are preggers! Anyway I happen to know someone who did the sort of course - training on the job - you mention, only with French instead of art. She did really well, but another friend applied and couldnt get on the course - these courses are v competitive, well they are in French, anyway - best way to get on is to do some work experience/shadowing in a school to show commitment, apparently.

Stefka: reading through your posts, I am wondering --- are YOU pregnant??? No period yet, feeling rough...??? have you tested? My SIL got pregnant when bf and didnt find out till she was 5 months pregnant. I send you lots of virtual courage for the sleep thing; fingers crossed!

Inzi, crap about the pay thing and hope you get it sorted.

J20, I think DD1 is jealous too, even if she doesnt know it herself. Maybe you could have a girlbonding shopping and lunch day - Shannon would be low maintenance in her pushchair presumably? - another idea my friend does with her daughter of similar age when she gets stroppy is a sleepover, where she and daughter have dinner in front of a DVD chosen by daughter and in PJs and then snuggle up into bed together...

Alice glad the foot's improving.

Muppet, the rfl idea sounds great - Brum is doable for us too - only no way can I run further than the end of the street. I might do the cheering on with glass of champagne in the background. I appreciate all you lot too and it meant lots to meet some of you twice in York; it was so special (sniff sniff!).

Trying to remember what other people have said... can't... anyway as I said it's my birthday today. Been eating expensive stinky cheese for lunch and DH has made me a choc birthday cake with white buttons on top, and is cooking steak for dinner. Ben and Jerrys is half price in Tesco so might get some for pud.

Sleep, well - drumroll - SHE SLEPT THROUGH!!!! Last Saturday night, she slept all night, all night, all night! No controlled crying, no faff sleep training, she slept. Sadly was a one off and since then hasnt gone more than 45 minutes again, but she clearly CAN do it so am hoping she will again very soon.

SIL's baby now overdue and she isn't even engaged yet... so not looking likely to happen soon...

Right I promise to write more often! I am a bad correspondent! Hugs to all.

Stefka · 22/08/2008 13:36

Happy Birthday!!!! Hope you are doing something nice

My aunt thought the same thing the other day. Thing is DH and I are not really having a lot of sex right now! Too tired and no time. So I don't think I could be.

Got the gym out of the way thank goodness. Feel better once it is done.

Dareh won't nap. He's so tired. He's in his cot now as the sling and the car didn't do the trick. He's not a happy bunny. He won't eat his dinner though because he is too tired and grumpy.

Crap he has started to play! I must have missed the sleep window and now he's past it. I need to go down the town though and he has had no bloody lunch and won't eat!
