I hope I manage to do this right...I'll kick everything off with a roll call if it does.

I wonder what would happen if you took their job temporarily. I would be tempted just to piss them off. Also then they might have to make you redundant from that post.

muppetgirl · 20/08/2008 21:48

Inzi for you and at the same time xxx

Dal -I think you're wanting to be a little bit pregnant aren't you!

I just did 5k in 27.34!!!! WOOOhOOOOO so I am definately running the adidas women's 5k challenge in London on the 7th of sept -anyone else fancy it?

We had Ollie's horseriding picnic today and he LOVED it. It was 2 hours with me and another mummy friend walking behind 15 children on horses. Guess who forgot her wellies? That pair of boots will be ruined then
Ollie got off his horse and announced 'I'm knackered! ' to which I said 'ahem, you're tired Ollie aren't you! To which he siad 'No Mummy, I said I'm knackered!'

I do struggle with him

Henry is 'mum mum mum mum' ing all the time now so hoping that the 8 teeth will enough and he'll start developing somewhere else! He rolled over at nursery in his cot but then stopped himself when he realised the girlies were watching him. He's not daft in some ways that one.

Love to all
xxx

Dalrymps · 20/08/2008 22:21

Muppet - maybe, just a little... shhhh

Well done on your run, I'm not sure how far 5k is cause i've never run it but it sounds a long way!
Lol at Ollie being 'knackered'

Wow, 8 teeth, Dylans 1st tooth is on it's way, can see it through his gum and can feel it too. He doesn't seem bothered by it at all at the moment so fingers crossed it carries on that way!

Chat soon x

OMG you are all so bloody chatty!

Stefka we still wake Adam at 2230 but then he usually sleeps until 6-7. He only half wakes at 2230 if you see what I mean - we just lift him from the cot and stick the bottle in his mouth! Have heard not so easy to dream feed (as in not wake them) with bf but then I have never tried so there might be someone better able to advise! Occasionally earlier but about 6.30 is the norm now. Anyway stick at the not feeding him - it may take a while ut once he gets used to not getting anything he might get out of the habit of waking. Good luck!

WWAJC I am totally with you on preferring to get home at a reasonable hour semi sober to see my boys!

J2O sorry to hear Leonie has been playing up and also that the hotel messed you about. Hope it was still a break though and good to hear you had fun at Cadbury World!

Dal!!!!!! OMG you could be pg!!! Keep us posted

Hello muppet, Floria, inzi, crochet

THose feeling you have to justify yourselves for staying at home I would LOVE to see some management bigwigs who would totally dismiss sahm's try and spend a day looking after a lo. Would pmsl if it wouldn't be cruel to the poor baby guineapig! They would soon realise that it's so much harder than the break called work...

Not sure about 1st birthday. Dh and I both have the day off and mum and dad are coming up so we'll have to have a think... Looking forward to pinching all your good ideas!

Adam has a tooth! ABout bloody time!!! And thanks for asking but foot is much better now!

as alice says omg you are all so chatty!

I'm a little tipsy, as i've been out to tea and had a bottle of wine, leonie is at her grandmas, but managed to take her phone to bed with her, so i'vve been getting 'i want to come home tear' ( i realised she meant to you at the end eventually) and 'i can't stop crying for you mum' text messages so am feeling a little sorry for her atm, i think she has maybe been playing me up for attention, but i'm not sure how to deal with it.

lmao at Ollie being knackard Muppet, thats the kind of thing Leonie used to come out with at that age

Dal can't wait till 2nd Sep!

8 teeth!!!!!!!!!! Shannon still got the one, but it bloody hurts, especially when she managed to get my toe when we where away.

ok..thats the extent my memory will let me have for tonight, o have been looking at spa type treatments today as Richie wants to pay for me to get my hair done and massage etc for my birthday, but he wants me to go to a posh one wheras i'd be quite happy going to a cheapo one, is there that much of a difference??

Oh Alice what are you're plans for Wed then? we are staying hereI think Richies flight is about tea time, so may get chance to meet for coffee if you are free, if not it doesn't matter as i'll be seeing you at the York meet up anyway. Any recommendations for shopping or eating in Newcastle too?

anyway, will stop babbling and be off to bed, night all, hope you are all getting a full nights rest

Stefka · 21/08/2008 07:26

Alice I think that is a great idea for a TV show! Top executives try to be sahm's for a week.

8 teeth! That is mental. Dareh doesn't have one yet. Still I am hoping to get the sleep sorted before they kick in.

Definitly making progress. He woke up a little at half nine but that was my fault because I peeked my head round the door but it wasn't a proper wake up he just sort of yelped and went back to sleep. Woke up at half one, three mins of grumping and back to sleep then he woke up at half five and cried for seven mins with a check from me in between and went back to sleep. He woke at six though. I thought he wanted to get up for the day so I fed him but he went back to sleep. Still six is ok - I can do that if he sleeps the rest of the night. He's still asleep now.

muppetgirl · 21/08/2008 07:30

just had a thought...

anyone fancy us all training for the race for life next year? ( I know some of you are veterans at this race anyway I'm just the rookie ) We could try to go for a big piggies meet up and do something good at the same time. We could do one somewhere in the middle and stay over -long enough in advance to plan things.

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 07:59

Stefka - Glad you're making progress, bet you'll have it cracked in no time.

J20 - hope you had a nice time when you went out to tea. Sorry Leonie is being a bit difficult. Maybe try and do something with her once a week that she wants to do, just the 2 of you? I know you probably do thi already but thats the only suggetion I could think of...

Muppet - I really like your race for life idea but if i'm not pregnant now I probably will be by then... Is it next aug? Maybe, even if I am pregnant I could come along to meet up with everyone and cheer you all on

Stefka · 21/08/2008 07:59

That would be fun! I haven't done the race myself but would be up for doing it. It would depend on what DH was doing at the time as to whether I would be able to go and stay somewhere. Would be fun to get everyone together though!

muppetgirl · 21/08/2008 08:10

Yay Stefka and Dal!
I think we should say from the start, run walk or skip the race if you like (Dal my friend did it this year 4 months preggers in 43 mins!) there is no pressure to do it any faster than you'd like!!! Cheering from the finish line would also be lovely. I just thought it would be far enough in advance for us all to organise a big piggies meet up as lots of us have met different ones of us but we've not all met all of us.(confusing or what that sentence!) We could meet for the race, race, then go out for a meal with lo's and hubbies (or no lo's/hubbies if you'd like to make it a real girlies day/eve) and then stay over if travelling home would be too far.

btw I ache like a very achy thing this morning !
Need to go and get showered before waking Mr Henry up
x

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 08:40

Well, whatever state i'm in i'm sure I can be there in some form , very exciting!

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 08:43

Mupppet - by the way, when you run, how do you know how far you've run? Do you have a pedometer (sp?) thing? Just wondering cause it's very rural around here but if i'm gonna go running I'd like to know how far i've run! Also, how long did it take you to get from only being able to run a little bit to running what you do now?

I started running about 3 months ago but I was a runner at school so I don't know if that has a bearing as it was a very long time ago. Dues to the problems 'down there' we started very slowly 1 min run, 1 mins walk increasing the run by a min each week until we got to 10 mins solid. After 10 mins it was then increases of 5 min chunks. I have dh's super dooper running watch so I know how far I've run, for how long at what pace -currently 5.30 (mins) for a km. The watch even plots you using google earth so it can show you where you'ev been (dh LOVES that bit as it's very technical ) I can now run for an hour and do 9.27 km but I'm trying to get a little faster on my 5k time so I know which 'zone' to go in in Sept for the London 5k race. My chappie thinks I should be aiming for 24-25 mins by next year so 27.34 isn't that bad at the mo.

Am loving it, it gets me out, makes me happy (releases those happy hormones) I'm fitter, my clothes fit better and I am sooooo much more motivated than I used to be.

muppetgirl · 21/08/2008 09:07

x-post inzi - am hoping you have to come off the pill inzi xxx

does that mean all you ttc 'ers' will go and join another antenatal thread and leave us piggies????????

J2O · 21/08/2008 09:18

Muppet-thats what i thought-they're all going to find new friends and dump us!

I'd be up for the race too

Dal-tbh I probably don't give Leonie enough of my time, but then i struggle to get anyone to have Shannon for me, I need to start doing something though, all i seem to do is shout at her atm

Dalrymps · 21/08/2008 09:26

Muppet - I want a super duper running watch! . One more question before I leave you alone, is it best to have proper running trainers? If so do you know which are best?

Inzi - I hope we are preggers at the same time, have you set a date to start trying or are you just planning for sometime next year?

J20 - Try not to worry about Leonie, everyone goes through ups and downs, you're an amazing mum to cope with all you do and you wouldn't be a good parent if you weren't worrying about it and wanting to make it better

Oh and no, i'm not going to dump you lot for new friends, I might join an ante natalthread for fun but I could never leave the piggies!!!

Get proper shoes for sure!! You can go to a running shop and they will asses your walk and advise you on the right shoe for you.

I would love that watch too although I don't get to run outside so probably no point. Can only run at the gym because of child care. They have a creche.

Where did the piggie thing come from btw?

Stefka · 21/08/2008 09:42

Oh wee moan - I am about to drag Dareh and all his paraphernalia over to my aunts house so I can pop through to Edinburgh and see a show because my DH said he was to busy to watch him. Guess where he is right now - in bloody bed still!!!
