I hope I manage to do this right...I'll kick everything off with a roll call if it does.

J2O · 02/08/2008 10:09

morning everyone, sorry i've not been around, well, i have, i just haven't written anything, had quite a bad week, i had one of my friends dcs fathers funeral to go to, died at 34 through alcohol, my best friend was sexually assaulted by someone, who she thought was a friend, we're not sure if he spiked her or not, but she has decided to go through with reporting it and hv came round and checked Shaannons legs on Mon, and now she has to go for a scan to check her hips as her leg creases don't match up, so waiting for the date to come through for that. I'm not particularly feeling down...not sure how i feel tbh, am meant to be going out tonight with Rich, but not sure if i feel like it, things are ok with him though, thanks for asking, whoever did

sorry for the me me post. hope you're all good

strawberrylace · 02/08/2008 21:30

thanks everyone for your info on where your LOs sleep. I think DH would quite like DS to be in his own room, cos I'd probably end up keeping him in ours for ever! Anyway, DH has a week off work coming up so I think we'll use that to clear out DS's room of all our tut, and try and make the move then.

Hope you are all ok

ChocolateHobnob · 03/08/2008 09:00

J20, sounds like you're having a bad time sweetie. Horrible that someone should die at 34 from alcohol. A friend of mine's father died, albeit in his forties, in the same way and it's horrid. And sorry about your friend, too.
Glad though that the romance continues!

Anyone fixed any dates for a York meetup? Looking forward, but only poss for me in August really.

Seeing Alice tomorrow - havent seen her for ages; Adam will be 10 months and all grown up.

Oh LLL - R crawls backwards, too....

FloriaTosca · 03/08/2008 09:24

LLL;Well done Ben! He has obviously just been saving it all up. I hope he saves his crawling/walking for when you get back home.

J20; Sorry you have had such a bad week, so sad for your friends dcs to loose their father (my bf lost her Dad very young the same way and it affected her for a very long time)and truly dreadful for your friend I hope she is getting help and support.I'm sorry for Shannon too..I hope the scan comes back clear. I'm sure after a week like that you are entitled to feel numb and a bit low. I hope you went out with Rich and had a lovely time, glad things are going well with him.

Alex is still suffering a snotty nose (sorry tmi)and sleeping badly...nowhere near as Chocs R so I really should shut up about it (choc, I don't know how you are coping with her in her own room now too[awed emoticon] but his walking is amazing now, he even chases and kicks a football up and down the room now!(is it any wonder Im shattered and yesterday Dh was reading to him and Alex pointed to a picture of a child cuddling a dog and said "doggie"! we tested him later asking where was the doggie and he pointed every time(am I allowed a proud mummy moment?)..I'm just hoping he starts signing to me soon so we can communicate better and he can stop being so frustrated at my densness(its like the terrible 2s here at 10 mths!)Hope everyone is well and having fab weekends.

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 03/08/2008 11:16

Floria - Well done Alex, he's a little star! (Save the walking 'till mmummy's back though x) and your proud mummy moment is more than deserved.

Choc - Hiya! > Well done Rebecca on the crawling, backwards is still better than nothing!

J20 - so sorry to hear of your awful week, loosing someone so young that way must be so upsetting for all thinking of you xxx

I am sat here thinking of ways to say sorry to dh when he gets back. We have tidied the house madly and I've just bought enough food to feed 8 adults and 7 children. He's taken Ollie to a party where he's never been before, I've lost the invite so he's got a rough direction and a road name to work from all because I thought I had my Uni friends coming over today for lunch.....

Only I've just checked facebook and realised it's next week Oh my f*ing life he's going to go nuts!

Also an article about Sarah was in the Daily Mail yesterday [shoc] was a bit surprised as I didn't know. Apparently reprters have been knocking on doors for more info...

Have a good day all -hope it doesn't rain where you are. Will catch up later to report how dh reacted, need to go and think of something nice for him xxxxx

FloriaTosca · 03/08/2008 12:22

Muppet;shock]!!!!!!
Chocolates and beer and wine and a very low cut top (with best shove'em up'n together underneath)...and short skirt...your wedding song playing in the background...er...I'll rack my brains for you....

grin]

OP posts:
Mine · 03/08/2008 13:06

sorry muppet but i'm still giggling at your situation!!
He'll forgive you but he may not let you forget!!!
I know my dh wouldn;t let me live that down!

Well done to those that have walking/crawling lo's.
Am sometimes but am sure they are more of an handful when they are soo active.

Catch up properly later.
Waves to all xx

ChocolateHobnob · 03/08/2008 16:20

Muppet, I'm sorry but that is funny! did he forgive you??? Blame baby brain; I've never been so dippy!

R doesn't crawl very far backwards, and it isn't proper crawling - she pushes off with her hands and feet and has her knees in the air. She tends to end up with her bottom stuck under the sofa and wails!!!

Oh but tentatively - we have sleep improvement! Is it okay for her to sleep on her tummy?

ChocolateHobnob · 03/08/2008 16:21

PS Alex is soooo advanced!!! It's like he's been here before....

crochetdiva · 03/08/2008 17:51

Hi all, no real news from my, excpet that it's our Wedding Anniversary today ... 12 years, where did it go?

Oh, and I had a bit of a wake-up call on Friday when I went on my neighbour's trampoline ... must make more of an effort to do my pelvic floor exercises (although, in my defence, I was desperate for a wee when I was dragged on there!)

Doing mad Eisteddfod stuff all week ... lots of singing!

fwiw Mairwen has been in her own room since February - she outgrew the crib.

I still feed her once or twice during the night (3 times last night [knackered] though as she's got a horrible chesty cough that keeps waking her up)

Muppetgirl - hope your dh forgave you! ... second the suggestion of the push-up bra and fancy undies!

j20 - sorry to hear you're having a crap time. Thinking of you.

love to everybody else!

muppetgirl · 03/08/2008 19:29

Right ladies I have a wonderful dh and I am very lucky!!!

He didn;t mind and actually saw the funny side. We have frozen as much as we could but will give some of the fresh stuff to our neighbours but he still wants the push up bra and fancy knickers!!

xx

muppetgirl · 03/08/2008 19:30

Congratulations crochet xxxxxx

Hey everyone
J20- What an awul week you'e had, thats so sad that someone close to you died so young, i'm sure you've been an excellent support to those most affected... Alos, your friend getting sexually assaulted, thats really awful, I hope she finds out for sure what happened and can somehow get over it althouh I don't think anyone ever gets over something like that . (((((big hugs)))) to you, hope next week is a better one.
Strawberry- hi, nice to hear from you. Good luck with getting lo in to their own room, we'll have to sort Dylans out too!
Floria - poor Alex with his snotty nose, Dylan's had a bit of a snotty nose this week but hasn't really affected him to the point Alex's has... Wow at him kicking the ball and saying 'doggie', what a clever little boy! Dh thinks he's some kind of genius .
Muppet - pmsl at you making dh tidy up etc for nothing, glad he forgave you and saw the funny side .
Mine - hi! hope you're feeling good at the moment, I am feeling ok again at the moment. I've worked out I get low in the week just after my AF but not every single time, I think this time it was worse cause I didn't go out for a proper walk all week and everything got on top of me. I don't think i'm depressed, I just think I get down occasionally and have to have a bit of a shake up and a chat to dh then I feel better again. Must follow some of muppets tips on keeping upbeat, she speaks a lot of sense!
Choc - So glad the sleep is improving even if it is slowly, Dylan always sleeps on his tummy now, has done since he could roll. Good for R crawling even if it is only a bit and backwards, Dylan is still comando crawling and using only one leg to push forward but is getting faster all the time, poor Tess the dog is well and truly in for it.
Crochet - Happy Anniversary! oh and you've reminded me to do my pelvic floors with your trampoline story he he.
Inzi - Glad jJane is settling at night a bit better, hope them teeth hurry up and some through soon, Dylan still hasn't got any at all!
Can't believe you spent 3 hours at the gym and went swimming, I couln't do half an hour at the gym these days, suppose I still go for walks though . Wow at a tornado near you, hope they do put it on the tv, can you post the pic on your profile?
Alice - Hope you had a nice time with your parents on their anniversary. We've been discussing the next lo again, i'm trying to take a very logical route to deciding as I don't want my heart to rule my head on this one, sorry to keep pestering you but the only other thing that concerns me about having a 21 month gap (the smallest it would be depending on when we decide to start trying - nothing is set in stone yet!!!)... anyway, what I was going to say is that i'm concerned that Dylan, my sweet little PFB will feel left out, replaced, unwanted etc etc, did you feel like this when deciding to try for Adam? I really love the idea of a little brother or sister for him but don't want him to feel second best iyswim.
Well good news for me on the weight front, I have lost 1lb since coming back from the wedding (not much but a lb all the same), I was thinking I had to get back to my pre pregnancy weight of 11st 1lb but when I was reading my pregnancy journal it actually said I weighed 11st 7lb before I fell pregnant and then I remembered what happened. I had gastroentiritis (sp?) when I was about 6 weeks pregnant and lost 6lb and it was that weight that stuck in my head. So that made me feel better that I haven't actually put on as much weight as i'd thought and I am actually only 3lb over my pre preg weight now .
We are slowly but surely getting the house sorted out although meant to do some today but just lounged around at pils for most of the day, ahh was a nice day though.
Finally went to get fittted for some new bras yesterday casue i've been wearing the ones i wore before Dylan and they wern't doing their job at all. Anyway I wasn't far out, old bra was a 34d but i'm actually a 34e! Bought 2 new lovelt bras and they fit very well, some of the best i've had, they're calle pinnache I think, anyway they were on offer so I got free knickers to match with both
Hi to stefka, WWAJC, LLL and anyone else I've missed.
Gonna go and read my pregnancy and birth magazine now and see how I feel about the idea .

Dalrymps · 03/08/2008 21:40

Wow yeah I can see it, apparently there are loads in the uk every year but we don't notice them, looks like you caught one!

muppetgirl · 04/08/2008 07:45

Inzi - fab photo! And I am in awe of your 3 hr gym session x

Dal -I have to say even with a larger age gap you do think that your first will be upset/hurt/feeling replaced by the new lo. I actually said to dh that I felt awful as this was the first big thing that ad happened to Ollie and that this is the first time we'd done something that moved Ollie a little more separate to us iyswim. That we'd somehow ruined his little world as he knew it. He had to do a lot more on his own, wait for the baby etc BUT he absolutely loves his brother and always has done even in the 'but don't you love me?' moments. He is very impatient for Henry to grow up so he can play with him so that's lovely with a smaller age gap they would just play... I think if you're physically and emotionally ready that's more important.

We're off to the local park to meet friends for a picnic like last Monday (we are creatures of habits here..x) then to a local farm to meet other friends so a bit full on but good fun. Btw my friend who had the ectopic + 2 miscarriages? (Ollie's Godfather + wife) She's 12 weeks today!!!!!!!! Thank you for any prayers said xxx

Love to all and speak later
x

Dalrymps · 04/08/2008 08:18

Mupppet - yeah guess I will fell like that about Dylan whenever we do it... Guess i'm still mulling it over, just not sure how I feel cause it's not the same as when we concieved Dylan, we had no idea what parenthood would be like but now we do and although it's wonderful it's hard work too! I''ve been trying to imagine how I would feel if I did a pregnancy test and it was positive but i'm finding it hard to guess what i'd feel?! Guess it would be a mixture of emotions, i'd be very excited at the thought of another baby being on the way but then would probably have all the 'how will I cope' concerns along with that, i'm guessing that'd be a pretty normal reaction with the 2nd one though? Anyway, i'll stop babbling now.
So pleased for your friend, she must feel so happy to have finally reached the 12 week mark!

Have fun at the park and the farm, speak soon x

J2O · 04/08/2008 09:20

crochet-congratulations!
FT-wow at Alex, he is soooo clever, no wonder you're shattered
Inzi-well done dh on getting the photo, we had one near us not long ago and it was on the front page of the local paper
muppet-glad dh saw the funny side
choc-glad los crawling now, backwards is the new forward these days

I'm still up for a meet up, so are we saying Mondays then? the only date i can't do so far is the 18th

ho to everyone else, thanks for all the nice words, my friend was examined on Sat for 6 hours, just waiting to see if he gets arrested now.

Shannon was sick all over last night and has been burning up, so i got very little leep again, but one of her bottom teeth looks like its going to come through very soon, so hopefully they'll all be through soon, and we'll have better nights!

J2O · 04/08/2008 09:21

oh sorry, i missed Dal out, how exciting, thinking of a 2nd lo!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 04/08/2008 14:30

Haven't had time to do a proper read-through so hello to everybody. Muppet - big hugs to you, I did see your post, hope you are coping ok.

Well Anya has a tooth (almost) - it's just below her gum and is quite sharp. I think that's why she was ill last week and was then covered in a rash. She's slept for England over the weekend - she's napping for 2+ hours at a time, plus she's feeding loads. It's great - I'm getting loads done! She's also learnt to pull herself to stand, and she's walking short distances (with some assistance of course, not in Alex's league!)

Latest news from docs, Anya had her hearing test last week. This is the one where they pull faces and play with toys in front of her and then make noises behind her to see if she turns round (very scientific!) - the one that we had to abandon 3 months ago because she got confused and burst into tears. This time round she was brilliant - she turned round every single time and didn't mind at all that she didn't get any reward for doing so. Couldn't believe she did it so well. Very proud parents! Have ENT follow-up on Wednesday then that's it for a bit.

Well, going to go and check on Anya - asleep for over 2+half hours....

J2O · 04/08/2008 19:06

wwajc-snap! Shannons bottom tooth is just coming through, and i can feel the sharpness now, she's also sleeping quite a bit, in the daytime anyway, and well done Anya on her hearing test

I got the scan appointment for Shannons hips today, Wednesday at 4

alicet · 04/08/2008 22:07

Just a quickie...

Sorry for those I missed but a couple of things stood out...

Dal I think muppet is spot on that you will feel worried about your pfb feeling left out whether you do it sooner or later. And that as you want another child at some point there is not a lot of point using this as a discriminator as you will try for another at some point.... FWIW I really worried about this as Adam's due date approached - perhaps more as I knew my section would mean I wouldn't be able to pick him up and stuff - but apart from a couple of instances he has been a little star with Adam. And I have heard that jealousy is less when they are little as they don't remember being the only one...

J2O hope Shannon's scan goes well

WWAJC congrats to Anya!!!

Crochet congrats for yesterday! Not even 4 years for us yet!!! Will be 4 years on Oct - OMG how much have we done since then!

And finally muppet PMSL at your wrong date story ! Remember Lisa last summer going on holiday a whole weeak early !

Anyway been out for a curry and catch up with my sis while dh looked after all 3 boys (or rather watched the west wing on dvd while they all slept...). Was fab but now tired so will try and get back on in a couple of days...

Dalrymps · 04/08/2008 22:44

Hey everyone,

Dylan's not too well tonight , had been off his food and generally grumbly this afternoon as well as a bit sleepy. Anyway he was in his 'hop n pop' play station thingy and he kept retching so I took him out, I thought it was just that he'd had his tea not long before and was bouncing up and down. Anyway he sat in his bouncy chair for a bit whilst we were trying to sort out his room to go in to then dh started getting him ready for bed, we noticed he felt hot so checked his temp and the strip said low fever. I gave him some calpol and went to make his bottle but when I brought it back upstairs he was sick, properly sick and basically emptied his stomach and kept on wretching .
I checked his temp again and it read between low and high fever so I called the out of hours doctor, he said Dylan sounded ok and it didn't sound serious but we could get him checked out by a doc at berwick infirmary if we wanted to pop him over. We thought it better to be safe than sorry so we took him over. He was seen by a german doc and he said he probably had a viral infection at most but nothing serious and that temperatures were more common in babies but he hardly had a temp...
Anyway he's had a few oz of milk and gone to bed now, gonna keep checking on him my poor little mite, he's surprisingly happy to say he's under the weather tough.

Alice - thanks again for the advice, I guess you're right, I'll worry about that whenever I have the next one. Guess all we need to do now is get this house sorted and then i'll see how I feel about it, I like the idea very much but just want to feel like we've got the house how we want it so when/if I do get pregnant all i'll have to worry about is looking after Dylan.

I'm very of your curry, have been really fancying one all week with a huge naan mmmmmmmmmm.

WWAJC - Well done anya on the hearing test! Hope that tooth pops through soon.

J20 - good that you got the appointment for Shannons hips so soon, hope it goes well. Sorry she's been sick and burning up, sounds like Dylan tonight, hope you get more sleep tonight.

Floria - hope your little genius hasn't got you run too ragged!

Well off to check on the little man again, have a nice evening ladies, chat soon x
