sat 7-8 AM! 13 hrs

Evening ladies.
I 3rd about grobags they are brilliant for wriggly ones
mixedmamma thats not nice of your dh to say that about ds2 and your in laws are bang out of order if you ask me. Can't say I have noticed people taking more notice of one ds more than the others . Usualy they will comment on hair colour or how they look like eachother that kind of thing.
ds5 is realy enjoying his solids. Hes having breakfast and lunch now. Start with dinners next week.
Ive won him one of those toys where you sit him in the middle and there are toys all around them. I won it for £34 with £18 p&p. Thats about £20 cheaper than Argos and Mothercare Hes gonna love it.
Well thats about it from me. xx

Well I am totally peed off today.

Went to the docs with DD to get her gunky eyes, eczema, cradle cap, sickness and teething sorted (or at least spoke about) Fair enough she's given me eye drops and cream for her eczema. Now the annoying things - Cradle cap "oh all babies get it, she'll grow out of it" ok but is there anyway I can ease it up? "oh no, she'll just grow out of it" grrrr. Teething "all babies have sore mouths when teething just give her bonjela" what about anything else? Calpol, herbal remedies? "no just bonjella, calpol should only be used when they're sick" grrrrr. Sickness "well she's putting on weight what more do you want?" well honestly, I want to not have to worry that shes going to choke in her sleep "oh don't be silly she won't do that" well she's choked a few times from the sheer volume of the sickness to the point where i've had to pick her up and turn her over to clear it "she'll be fine, just keep an eye on her weight" grrrrrr

And to top it all off - had 2 bills from scottish power this morning adding together for a total of £200!! only a week ago we had a letter saying they owed us £60!!
Plus a letter from budget saying they are sending baliffs!

Aaliyah has been upset most of the day, i think i've got an ear infection and I just want to curl up in a ball but I know i've got loads of things to do in the house tomorrow ready for us going away Thursday. PLus gotta pack our and aaliyah's bag. Sort the cats out and pick up the avon catalogues tomorrow.

sigh sleep!!

Oh thanks for the idea about grobags - was trying to sell one as never use it but am keeping it now. Cheers!!

Lucky - sorry you're having such a horrid day Another vote for grobags over here...John Lewis (surprisingly) have very good own label ones for £16 which zip (not pop - better at night) up, which is amongst the cheapest I've seen.

MixedMama - I know what you mean about feelings for ds1 vs dc2. But I think thats just a time and experience thing - I mean, I've had nearly 3 years to get to know ds1 and only 16 weeks with Tamara so far, so its bound to be a bit unbalanced. Ignore dh, he's probably just trying to balance things out a bit

Housemum - I'm still exclusively bf-ing and we've had full sleeping (7.30pm-11pm-7.30 or 8am) for quite a few weeks now...sorry

Still rather sore 'down below' but slowly getting over the shock of last friday...thanks again for all the support

xxx

Lucky - hope your day improves
Mixedmama - Maybe your ILs assume DS2 is too little for DH to bring round?
Filly - of the sleep. Still waking up here at least once after the 11pm dream feed, but its not so bad really
Gingeme - well done on winning the toy!
JKS - hope you're having a nice break!
Naetha - hope Ben's more cheerful today.

My bathroom is STILL under construction - was meant to be finished last Friday , but didn't happen. Am getting a bit fed up really.

NIcky - haven't tried the swimming yet, but from speaking to somenoe at my baby group last week, the baby pool is supposed to be warm-ish, ours provide the inflatables if you go to a baby swim session, definitely need a swim nappy, but not sure about costume. HTH

my friends' little boy arrived today, at only 34 weeks - he is in NICU. Which makes me feel so tearful, even though we can be pretty sure these days he is going to be just fine.

I bought one of those all in one costumes for ds4 . You know they look a bit like wet suits? I still have it and if and when we take ds5 Ill use it for him. Oh and a swimming nappy. Huggies ones. Never used a ring tbh.The two pools we take the boys to the baby pools are like baths. So warm. Lovely
Meet up dates any date form the 14th to the 28th June. The rest is up to you

Can i join this one?
I was on the December 07 thread but DD waited until 10th Jan to turn up.
best things come to those who wait right??

I haven't got round to nookie yet
do mean too, but DD will not have afternoon naps and i'm too tired in the evening/morning.

I do 'help' DH.
I was never 'up for it' before baby, never had a high drive.
How the hell do i get DD into nap time?
She'll sleep after a feed (b/f) for about 3/4 hr.
Or in the pushchair if we're out.
Talk of the devil and she will appear, she's hungry.
TIA.

Hi Imawurzel weve chatted before on other threads I think. Our dc share the same birthday, Jan 10th.
Where abouts do you live? Do you fancy coming to a meet up next month? It will be at the Victoria and Albert museum .
Ds doesn't realy have a routine with his naps either. Unless ofcourse were out and about and hell slepp in his buggy/car.
Itll come with time don't worry.

Hi everyone. Good to see a new thread up and running.
I seem to just come on and have a moan, sorry, but have had a pig of a week. Stupid plumber caused another leak from bathroom last week, resulting in electrics getting frazzled, and us having little or no electric for 2 solid days while the engineers tried to fix it. Total nightmare! Idiot plumber reckoned it was nothing to do with him either.

Fortunately, home insurance covering it, but we have to cough up £160 excess.

Toby had his last lot of jabs today and got really upset. I am so glad they are over. I HATE them, even though I know they're for his own good. Increasing the amount of solids he has now and he's doing brilliantly. Sleeping well now too, and will go down around 7 and sleep through til about 6.30.

I don't know about the rest of you who's LO's are sleeping through, but when they do wake up unexpectedly in the night after a number of decent nights, it is shattering to have to get up. I don't know now looking back how I coped with the 3 or 4 times waking in the night we had at the beginning!

Hope all of you and your LO's are doing well. Hugs to those of you who are struggling for whatever reasons.

Imawurzel · 28/05/2008 21:20

BH, solids already, ooh don't go on the solids thread that i'm on, they're shooting me down a treat. Guessing your LO is 4mths.(?)
i started giving my DD baby rice just before she turned 4 months.
My DD went mad when she had her 3 lot jabs. I felt bad for her, but like you i know she needs them.
My DD varies in sleep. she'll fall asleep sometimes before 9, but if we put her in her cot/ moses basket she wakes within 10 minutes so she is on the sofa at the mo.
Hopefully she won't wake too much when i move her to change her bum and put her in her jama's.She used to go from 10 til 5 but as soon as she hit 4 months she started going to sleep at 9 ish, wake at 2,4,6. not fun.sometimes i can pat her back to sleep but most time's she wants feeding.

Gingeme. is that London? Bit far from me, i'm in Dorchester, Dorset.

sorry for long post at this time of evening.

Report
betterhalf · 28/05/2008 21:26

Yes, he's 4 months. I steer clear of all those other threads. Too many judgmental people on there for me. They are so opinionated it does my head in! I think if I followed every little thing they said, I would be a manic depressive, feel I was no good as a mother and would end up being sectioned!

I take on board what my HV says, and my own common sense and what seems to make my little boy contented and happy and go from there.

I really must be a bad mummy. call ss quick!!!
Right DD has fallen asleep on sofa, cos if we put her upstairs in basket she wakes within 10 mins.
(have i said that already?)
I've gotta change her bum and put her in jama's.

Have sneaked off with my laptop as MIL has gone to bed! Alek also had his last jabs so much wailing and gnashing of teeth before bedtime.

DS is only just getting used to being put in his cot for daytime naps. He goes about 45 mins (one sleep cycle I presume). I still need to cuddle him to sleepiness then put him in there just as he's going to sleep not after he's already gone. Otherwise he would wake up after 10 mins too...
