Hi all.

Dooby, such awful news re your cousins wife. Hope you are ok. Will she undergo treatment?

Elkie, without wishing to stick my nose in, your (d)p is sounding totally out of order. Have you had a chance to sit down and talk? I really hope so for all your sakes. xx

MJ, so sorry you are in such pain. Hope the op date comes through, and as you say move forward with things. xx

Dippy, hows you now?

Eca, enjoy packing!!

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

B's party was an absolute success The whole thing went so well; the magician was amazing, the food went down well, and the chidren were so well behaved.

I am now totally shattered! It is like the feeling you get after sitting exams or having an intense interview!

B still hasn't opened all her presents! Quite nice tbh, as she is actually stopping and taking note of them rather than just moving through them like wildfire.

Looking forward to their bed time and then crashing on the sofa with wine and crap telly

CaptainDippy · 24/05/2008 18:27

Glad it has all been such a sucess, SOL

oooggs · 24/05/2008 19:25

sorry elkie that sounds shit

sol - hurray for successful birthday & party - you put those 'sexy' legs up and enjoy a large one (glass of wine that is!!)

pisha - you are so funny

all ok ellie?

We have had a very busy day (us 5 & my parents), my dads birthday so went off to Paignton (v. early) caught an open top bus to Totnes (bought some picnic stuff) boat cruise to Dartmouth (had lovely picnic on boat) foot ferry to Kingswear then Steam Train back to Paignton, drove back to Plymouth for Pizza Hut for tea

knackered!!!! but worth it and it managed to stay dry all day

Sexonlegs · 24/05/2008 20:02

Oooh Oooggs you cheeky devil

Your day sounds absolutely fantastic! What you up to ce soir?

I have already had one glass of red

Where is everyone??

liath · 24/05/2008 20:10

Gosh, ooggs, I feel exhausted just reading about your day but it sounds fab

SOL, am glad the party went well and B had such a good time. Enjoy the vino.

Elkie - I don't know what to say, what a twat to behave like that especially when you are at such a vulnerable time newly pregnant. Is he feeling a bit anxious about the pregnancy do you think?

GMM - did you have a good time yesterday?

Another lovely sunny day up here, it has barely rained this month . All my veg is growing away, I am so excited as I've never grown veg before .

The kids are getting up so early at the moment, I've had to start going to bed by 10pm. At least it means they are so knackered they are tucked up in bed by 7pm. Have finally managed to eject dd from our bedroom and she seems to like sharing with ds and even sleeps through him wailing a lot of the time .

Sexonlegs · 24/05/2008 20:25

Liath, we are growing veg too - our first time! When I say we, it is dh! He is so excited about it bless him - comes in and gives me an update report on what's growing

Glad you have your room back!

Anyone else watching Eurovision?

liath · 24/05/2008 20:27

I'm watching!! Think the UK is best so far.

LOL at your DH, SOL. I keep phoning my mum to "talk veg", she must be getting sick of hearing about my pea plants .

geordieminx · 24/05/2008 20:29

Hey ladies

Just had a quiet day here, bit of shopping..

Liath - had a lovely time yesterday... although Bumble text me this morning to say Lucy has awoken with chicken pox... so need to wait and see if C has got it...

Off to catch up now....

Sexonlegs · 24/05/2008 20:32

Liath, am glad you agree re the UK entry. I really like it. I find it really uplifting

hi GM.

elkiedee · 24/05/2008 21:02

Glad to hear the party went well SOL and that oooggs and family had a fun day ou

But sorry to hear about your cousin's wife Dooby.

We eventually sorted things out this afternoon, just in time for to get our act together to meet my mum on her way home through London (from France to Ilkley). She brought my sister and it was lovely to see them both, though briefly. They were also visiting my aunt whose life is being destroyed by her junkie daughter, though, so quite stressed.

I told her I'm pg again (warning her she would think I'm crazy when I told her). She does but hopefully - fingers crossed for pregnancy - it will all work out and she'll enjoy her second grandchild as much as D.

leakyR · 24/05/2008 21:04

Hello all

Have been lurking a bit, but am fairly certain that I've got PND and just lack the heart to post regularly.

Had long chat with dh today and have decided to bite the bullet and go chat with gp about ADs. It will be my 1st visit to the new GP which makes it all a bit awkward.

NEED to say
Congrats to Elkie that things are hard for you and dp at moment.
POTC - glad you're still here. Happy for you.
MJ - hope your op does the trick and you're not too uncomfortable in the meantime.

To everyone else- I know what a fabulous support network you all are. So maybe when I feel a bit more like me again I'll be back ranting, venting and burbling along with the rest of you.

elkiedee · 24/05/2008 21:08

We watched the UK entry and the beginning of the next one after D went to sleep. I thought it was quite catchy but I don't suppose that will help it win these days! Now trying to catch up on the backlog of Casualty/Holby City episodes! I don't like watching it on my own because regular characters like the hospital staff get killed so often and I get upset, so record and save it for when dp's around, how pathetic is that?

Sexonlegs · 24/05/2008 21:09

Elkie, really glad you and dp have patched things up.

Leaky, lovely to see you, but so sorry to hear about the PND. Hope the trip to the GP is of help. Please keep posting, as many here have gone through PND and come out the other side. x

liath · 24/05/2008 21:15

Leaky, ditto to what SOL said. Hope it goes well at the GP.

elkiedee · 24/05/2008 21:34

Oh Leaky, so sorry to hear about the PND.

leakyR · 24/05/2008 22:13

Thank you. Truth be told - I've been in denial for months. Was blaming it on the implanon for ages, my crappy job in Leeds too. Now that implanon has gone and I have a new, better job there's no other excuse for the way I am.
I guess the easiest way to describe it that I overeact to tiny things (throwing the porridge jug [plastic] across the kitchen because it was in the wrong cupboard) and I don't react to HUGE stuff (my grandad has terminal cancer) and I am an absolute cow to DH. Ultra critical, could not be less interested in sex, but ratty with him if he isn't affectionate. Also comfort eating and tired all the time.
My old GP said it might be PND when I asked for the implanon outand made it sound like it wouls be as simplas a short course of ADs to sort it out. Oh I hope so! will post next week to let you know what the new GP says.

Sexonlegs · 24/05/2008 22:26

Leaky, that sounds all too familiar; particuarly the short temper (have been knwn to throw all manner of things across the room) and the lack of interest in sex. Far too tired for that.

Really hope you get something sorted. xx

Eddas · 25/05/2008 07:38

hi ladies, haven't posted in a while but have been lurking.

Leaky, your post rings many alarm bells for my own feelings over the last few months. I have talked to dh about me possibly having PND as i have lots of symptoms. I just don't know. I am not too bad most of the time but when something goes wrong it's just all too much. Good luck with the doctor

all normal in our house. ds not seeming too well yesterday. Nothing specific, just hot, runny nose and pulling his ear a bit. Might be teeth

we had a thrilling day yesterday. we pulled down the old shed(i say we but it was dh and his brother and friedn) i then sorted the shed contents and chucked half of it(left by old house owner) and dh and his brother and friend put up the new shed. I lead a very exciting life

Weather is pants today so not sure what we'll do. I'd happily stay at home pottering but not sure dd will be too pleased I have bought Bee Movie so maybe I can bribe her

mamiguay · 25/05/2008 07:48

Hello! Can´t even remember the last time I posted. Sorry to see the faces dotted around the board.

Dooby sorry to hear about your cousin´s wife, that is SO young. Hopefully that will be something on her side to help her fight back.

Leaky, sorry to hear you think you have PND but glad you are going to speak to someone about it and I also hope that you are back on track soon.

Elkie - great news! congratulations and best of the best wishes for your pregnancy. Sorry to hear about your troubles with dp, hope you get some time and space to talk it through.

Mammyjo - fingers crossed you get your op date through soon, I´m so sorry to see you are still suffering after all this time.

I didn´t manage to meet up with Runny! We did have a couple of lovely chats on the phone, I only got her email the friday before she was leaving on the monday. Fully intended to go up and see her on the sunday but N was a total whinging ratbag all day and had us at our wits´ ends. We suspected chickenpox as there had been a bout at nursery and it was confirmed by the doc on monday so in the end probably for the best, I´d have felt awful sending her home with THAT kind of souvenir.

N seems to be doing the typical starting-nursery-lurching-from-one-illness-to-another Spectacular and getting fed up with paying nursery AND having to take holidays from work etc etc to be at home with a very ratty and humourless child. The chickenpox seems to be over (he only had about two spots anyway) but he´s still got a horrible smoker´s cough and so much snot he wakes up with a thick shell under his nose every morning. Niiice.

He´s going to nursery tomorrow come hell or high water. With all of this his night waking is at an all time low so once he´s 100% looks like back to sleep training. He´s not quite walking, cruising like mad and the odd step here or there but still seems like he is a few weeks away. Are we the last off the mark?

oooggs · 25/05/2008 08:41

morning

leaky - hope you get things sorted and are feeling better soon

hi maveta

well sol my day was so exhausting I was in bed (on my own) by 8pm

eddas - I love pottering

elkie - hope you get things sorted - it is an emotional (but exciting) time

nothing planned today, weather taken a turn and looks a bit miserable out there

Sexonlegs · 25/05/2008 09:14

Morning all.

Eddas, I also love pottering and having good clear out! Hope ds is better today.
K was like that a bit yesterday - no temp, but seemed v tired and floppy, red ear, streams of snot etc.

Mav, lovely to see you Sorry poor N seems to be going through it with illnesses. Can totally empathise re the snot. I am having to change K's bottom sheet of her cot every day - foul!!!!

Oooggs, hope you feel better having gone to bed early Weather pants here too, so no idea what we shall be doing. Meeting up with friends I think, probably for a damp walk!

Hope everyone else is ok.

All good here. Had a lie in until 8.45

See you all later. xx

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2008 09:43

morning everyone
Glad the party went well SOL
We think T is gettig a cold sore

mammyjo · 25/05/2008 11:37

Hi all. Not much happening here today. Weather totally crap.

Leaky, glad you are going to the GP, hope it goes well. Your post sounded very familiar to me having had PND following ds. Things do get better but unfortunately it is a long road. You have definitely made the most important step though. Admitting there is a problem is a tough thing to do. Look after yourself xxxx

Ellie, I hope you are ok

SOL, glad the party went well yesterday. Fab that you got a lie in today too!

Oooggs, I am not surprised you were in bed by 8pm after that day! Sounded fab though

mammyjo · 25/05/2008 11:39

SPB, is it bothering him?

Mamiguay, good to see you. Poor little N. I know what you mean with them catching everything. F was doing that, but has been in nursery for a good while now and finally things seem to be settling down. No pox yet though, despite me being told it is rife in nursery! That will probably be famous last words!

StealthPolarBear · 25/05/2008 15:38

he just keeps licking a particular side of his mouth Nothing appeared yet, so hopefully he hasn't caught it - maybe just a tooth...
He's incredibly funny at the moment, keeps going into our dining room, shutting the door and then squeaking indignantly behind it for someone to go and open it for him!
