NL, I am really well thanks. B is a joy; she seems to have calmed down a lot and I love spending time with her. K is become quite feisty as she gets older, but she is still my angel baby

How are you and your lovely girls?

Hi POTC

StealthPolarBear · 28/05/2008 21:20

NL - about as long as I can use "I've just come back from maternity leave" as my standard reply to work emails
Just been into T's room - little sleepsuit hung on the cot.... Miss him so much

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:21

B is pretty fesity too and she is climbing on EVERYTHING! As we are still deboxing - there is a fair bit to climb on! Big girls doing well - we all love the new house and they seem very settled. We're all back cycling to school etc and dd2 is coping well with that. B loves her bike seat and i love the way she pats me with her little fists as we whizz along.

Oh SPB, my heart goes out to you. Please try and enjoy your evening flower.

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:23

Oh SPB - may I offer a ? I'm still using the 'just back from maternity' line too - figure it'll get me through till August and then I can use 'I've been on holiday' - or hopefully - 'I'm new here'

Sexonlegs · 28/05/2008 21:26

NL, you go girl. New job new job new job!!!

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:30

Oh I have missed you all - it's so nice being back chatting away in a lovely, friendly huggle! Excuse me whilst I blow my nose on my new old curtains - lovely people who sold us the house left all their curtains AND the black out blinds in all the bedrooms

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:30

And SOL - I will go kick some new job butt!

oooggs · 28/05/2008 21:36

welcome back NL

katy - we are about 1hr20min from Falmouth, we live very very close to Plymouth but in Cornwall - why is that? I know you have a wedding down there soome don't you?

oooggs · 28/05/2008 21:36

soon

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:37

hi oooggs - good to see you How are your lovely children?

StealthPolarBear · 28/05/2008 21:40

I'm fine really, thanks - just looking forward to getting him back!
lol at you blowing your nose on the curtains NL - and you'll definitely be using the "I'm new here" line soon.
SOL - it's so lovely when you talk about your angel baby - as you can imagine I'm ion a weepy mood
oooggs - yes, it's to do with the wedding. My friend is one of a group from university, they do not have a wedding list so we are considering paying for a meal / night out somewhere near them, hoping for some local recommendations for somewhere you'd go on a posh night out. Thanks if you can help, but I'm as close to Leeds as you are to Falmouth and I wouldn't have a clue about Leeds

oooggs · 28/05/2008 21:42

think they are coming down with colds but other than that all three of them chasing around while I sit and watch [exhausting]

glad you are enjoying the house now just to sort out your job

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:42

I'm much closer to Leeds and I wouldn't have a clue about that either!

oooggs · 28/05/2008 21:44

katy - very good friends of ours (who live round the corner from us) grew up and visit family in Falmouth - so I will get onto it and will report back with links etc

and I thought you wanted to drop T off on your way down

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:44

Oooggs - hope you ward off the colds - B has an endlessly snotty nose - we've had the ear infection earlier this month and now it's conjunctivitis thingummy whatsit!

StealthPolarBear · 28/05/2008 21:51

Thank you oooggs! It didn't occur to me, but now you mention it...would you even notice or would he just blend in with the twins? I'd come and get him on the way back, I promise!
(PS, your good friends aren't MY friends, are they? Just checking!)

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:53

'blend in' - rofl!!!

leakyR · 28/05/2008 21:54

Hello

Good to see you back NL. Glad your move went well.

SPB - I can empathise, spent 2nd day in Barcelona pining for G, every time I saw a child in a pushchair I got a pang. Try and enjoy yourself.

G has got an infection in his finger. He goes nuts when anyone tries to touch it which has made keeping it clean fun today. GP gave him antibiotics, foul pink stuff which he has to take 4 times a day! We've had hysterics twice today for both doses since lunchime. Think we'll be having hysterical screaming 4 times tomorrow Just hope he sleeps tonight we've had 2 terrible nights and dh is away in London tonight.

DH is staying with SIL, BIL and Eva. They're a bit Today they saw a physio with Eva who told them that her physical development does seem to be delayed - he gave them some exercises to do and is hopeful they will have a positive effect. They have been asking for months (GP, HV, paeds specialist at hospital) if there was a developmental problem and have been repeatedly told there's nothing to worry about, despite the fact that they meet regularly with 10 babies born at similar time (NCT group) who are all rolling and sitting up when Eva isn't. Understandably after the traumatic birth and weeks that followed they are extra sensitive and aware of Eva being different. She is a lovely smiley baby and is absolutely adored by us all. George in particular like to try and kiss her whenever he sees her.

Right off in the bath while it's still quiet.

oooggs · 28/05/2008 21:55

I doubt it Katy He is 43, she is 40 and their ds is 9 mths old

oooggs · 28/05/2008 21:57

of course he would just blend in, ds1 thinks babies are fantastic and wants us to have at least 10

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 22:02

Hi Leaky - poor G - B is furious with me about the eyedrops as well. I sympathise with you! Glad to hear Eva is so lovely. I think trying to assess developmental milestones at such a young age is very tricky - there is such a wide range of normal and babies are resiliant as well and catch up with one another in different ways and at different times. It's very understandable that your ils are sensitive and anxious about it - i would be. Hope they get good news soon.

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 22:11

Off to bed now -night all!

leakyR · 28/05/2008 22:13

I know what you mean NL. When SIL has asked me my opinion, I've given wooly monologues about how "big the window of development can be" I've tried to be positive with them but you're right - it's hard for them not to worry.
Right definitely going bath now.
