OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 19:13

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/05/2008 19:16

Right - have looked down a bit and see that Mammyjo - you have been a victim of NABC syndrome at the hands of the NHS.

NABC - Not A Bloody Clue - working as I do within the organisation I come across this sadly often - it is usually the doctor who grossly misleads the patient as to when they will be seen. I've never yet met a doctor who actually knows how big his waiting list is! It's a total pita and I really do feel for you. Things you can do - you've spoken to the secretary and it doesn't sound like she was massively helpful - but it would still be worth you ringing the hospital and asking for the waiting list department - when you get through ask for whoever does your docs list and basically introduce yourself - say you'll come at short notice, have you got my mobile number etc. If they have any cancellations and want to fill a list - they will remember you. And/or you could contact the PALS service and say how upset you are - see if they can make any progress for you?

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 19:22

Ah thanks POTC now - I think

Ok - well the house is wonderful - we are loving the space, the lovely garden and the three loos! It is great to have B in her own room - we all sleep all night and I can read in bed again.

Work - is ok. I've had some pretty crap days and some good ones. I am 'actively' looking for something else. I've got an application in that I'm waiting to hear on - it's been nearly three weeks and nothing BUT they have sent for at least one of my references (standard practice to send for them pre interview in the NHS) What do you reckon - hopeful or not?

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/05/2008 19:26

I reckon that it never hurts to be hopeful
MJ is NHS too and was saying she's applying for a different job in the system to escape her evil boss

hmmm - there's a lot of us on the move. The pay is crap as well. Today I discovered that I have to pay about £15 a month more pension contributions because the level you pay at is based on last years full time equivalent salary. So - last year I was on maternity leave and maternity pay but my notional position was that of the higher acting up grade - so this year I'm paying my pension based on a salary I was never even close to and for a position I was not able to retain Talk about salt in the wound

cazboldy · 28/05/2008 19:36

POTC - James has been up there since Tuesday morning with my brother - He got a 3rd with his cow

Am just trying to get sorted out - It looks like we are going away for a month instead of out for the day!

NL - Glad you are loving the new house....Are you all unpacked yet?

Only major news in the Caz household is that we lost our appeal about ds1's school place, and we have got to move all the 3 eldest dc to new schools

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/05/2008 19:48

indeed NL, it's the side to the NHS that the rest of us rarely see or hear about, and it stinks

I have green shoes with red bits and flowers and sparkly bits in and a new book and a bottle of wine and reeces peanut butter choc
Dp was dealing with quite important work stuff that had kicked off so was on phone and just kept handing me cash!I could have caned it but did show restraint
Sorry if i have missed anyone.I want to go to the suffolk show

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/05/2008 19:55

I still think you'll have to come stay with us Dooby, and plan it for Suffolk Show time
I know SPB, it all sorted itself out and didn't happen as I expected so hopefully I can post in peace now
I might wave occasionally just in case though

OP posts:
cazboldy · 28/05/2008 19:58

That would be great.... A mnet meet up at the Suffolk Show!

NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 20:42

Caz - Dippy let me know you lost the appeal but I hadn't realised that you had to move all the others - what a nightmare for you! Hope they love the new school(s) though.
POTC - yes it stinks! I know so many people at work who are struggling on, massively overworked and being paid probably a third of what their skills would command in the private sector - but there is the job satisfaction - most of the time That just doesn't pay the mortgage etc...

Indith · 28/05/2008 20:46

SPB check the meetup thread

cazboldy · 28/05/2008 20:53

well NL we will see.......

OP posts:
NorthernLurker · 28/05/2008 21:18

Oooh hello WO! How is C? B is toddling all over - very steady on her feet now and is just yummy! I'm having her birthday party in a couple of weeks - but in my defence - I have moved house!
