Couldn't think of anything contraversial!

Thats so nice to hear, EV

AQ, hope ds is better soon - whats up?

Looks like I'm investigating B&Bs then - thanks, all, suspect its wise to get out as don't want to risk breathing problems either, with dd2.

dd is walking all over the place, with great glee and gusto. OH its nice to have a walker, my back is very happy.

How is today going, BP?

Elibean · 11/06/2008 11:07

I have a clothes horse from Lakeland that I am in love with, expanding, foldable, sturdy, light.....omg, I just turned into my mother...

EustaciaVye · 11/06/2008 12:35

Eli - I got very excited over this indoor airer when I bought it recently

accessorizequeen · 11/06/2008 12:42

ev, v.good news re: your friend's lo
eli, def. b&b with the dust that could be a real problem! ds2 has virus, that's all, had high temp and is sooooo grumpy. He'll get over it quickly.

margo I knew I was wrong at the back of my mind. I did of course know you didn't hvae twins!

did I already say lakeland is the best, esp licorice. and banana holder!

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 11/06/2008 12:57

All is forgiven AQ!

B&B booked. They are giving us a discount because their restaurant bit is closed due to building work. I told them we'd feel at home then

EV, are you my mother?

babypowder · 11/06/2008 14:07

Yay! Haven't upset anyone today. I don't know whether I'll be able to show my face at the school gates for a while, though Thankfully I won't have to face any mums until the end of term church service.

That's such good news about your friend's LO, EV.

babypowder · 11/06/2008 22:29

(Of course, more than 8 hours without a post from anyone else could indicate that I've driven you all away)

Olihan · 11/06/2008 22:38

Did someone say something?

Oh hello, Eli, hope the B&B is nice!

Elibean · 11/06/2008 23:10

BP, it was probably me stressing about dust, or discussing clothes driers with EV.

EustaciaVye · 12/06/2008 02:35

Lol @ all of you

DD1 had school visit yesterday which went really well Unfortunately she now has a temp of 39.3 and is feeling quite sorry for herself

accessorizequeen · 12/06/2008 12:26

Come out, bp!

Glad I'm forgiven, margo! Now where is godzilla anyway?

DS1 had a school visit last week, ev & he loved it, I was sooo relieved. Teacher coming to visit tomorrow at our house, cue running around madly pretending I have been flying all this time. I'm taking afternoon off sick, had enough of feeling this rotten. But suppose I will end up making tea & vacuuming! Hope dd1's temp comes down soon, poor lamb.

jabberwocky · 12/06/2008 14:50

So what's a school visit?

Elibean · 12/06/2008 15:19

Jabber, its when pre-school kids go and visit their forthcoming primary school - sort of orientation, very informal usually

dd hasn't had hers yet, but we took her to see the school after we'd looked around, and kids can go to the incoming parents' evening if they want. Not sure about that though, its at 7pm...

I love that teachers come and visit, I had no idea that happened!

Am beginning to feel quite sad that pre-school days are over (we walk there, know lots of mums/kids, only one other going to same primary...) and the weeks are rushing past now.

Elibean · 12/06/2008 15:20

AQ: make sure you sit and have a cup of something in between tidying and hoovering, y'hear?

Elibean · 12/06/2008 15:20

EV's dd, get well soon.... there seems to be a flurry of new bugs around, most of the ones I've heard about shortlived, hopefully hers too.

accessorizequeen · 12/06/2008 22:30

Yes, I'm quite impressed with her coming, but not enough to give up my lie-down in order to clean up. Although I did make soup & rice pudding so stupidly had to get up every half hour to stir the pud!

ds2 had something like that, a short-lived virus anyway. A week starting with high temp, unbelievable grumpiness and whinging. All fine now, said his brother's name yesterday which we all find quite thrilling. It's quite a difficult name to say, I guess that's why he's taken so long!

jabberwocky · 13/06/2008 01:17

Oh, we do that here too, I was just blown away by the teacher comingto the house. I wondered how they could visit every student!

EustaciaVye · 13/06/2008 08:04

Morning Guys.

DD1 is fine now. Temp for 12 hours and then nothing. Very odd.

Her new furniture is now in her room. The storage thing has nine basklets so we now have homes for everything. One if them is now a Tat Basket where every random piece of plastic can go

DD2 REFUSED to have a bath last night . She is getting very opinionated and stubborn!

babypowder · 13/06/2008 09:09

DD2 is also very opinionated and stubborn. She 's either sunny, happy, giggly and cheeky, or she's red with rage at the momemnt Where does it come from?

She still isn't speaking much - doesn't say any real words at all yet, except 'ta' and 'hiya', although she can sing 'Bob the Builder' (they must have a tape of that at nursery - DD1 would never allow it here!)

And she still only has 8 teeth. But I'm not going to panic that she's falling behind. Oh no. Not me.

Elibean · 13/06/2008 09:57

Very reassuring to hear of the other tempestuous babes, dd is furious so fast, out of the blue, when thwarted

And so unbelievably charming the rest of the time - dh is actually asking if he can please spend the afternoon with her, when he's got an afternoon spare. Good old dd2

I'm glad your dd1 is better, EV, some funny bugs going around. We also have lots of boxes (under shelves) in dd's room, for plastic bits. I've never known a girl with so many teeny (mostly pink) plastic/wooden/you name it bits.

Elibean · 13/06/2008 09:58

I think dd2 has ten teeth - given up counted - BP, but she is drooling again, so could be eleven?!

EustaciaVye · 13/06/2008 10:13

I think we have 10 teeth. Havent checked for a while. I do know that the 4 incisors (? pointy ones) are on the way and that isnt helping towards a cheery DD.

DD2 says hi, Yeah, No, Cat, Dada, Get Down, Drink. And then lots of animal noises. All are variations of the word. Still no Mummy yet . DD1 said less than this at two though so they really do all develop at different rates but end up at the same place.

Indith · 13/06/2008 13:32

Hello! Am at my mum's, ds is napping and I'm not allowed downstairs to make more pastry etc for her 50th tomorrow as she has her class of ladies here beading.

Ds is an angel and I am going to take a pen and paper and catch up on this thread! I swear I have not stopped recently and the madness continues as I'm off on an jolly expedition on Thursday and have nothing ready for it!

jabberwocky · 13/06/2008 13:40

We're still at 6 teeth He is starting to communicate pretty well though which is nice. I just have to stop making comparisons with ds1 at this age!
