thanx everyone, i really hope the christening does go down well!we're going to get everyone a carvery at the pub after the christening so hopefully that will go down well! wanted a buffet originally but they dont do them in that pub on a sun. got raimees dress on sat, its gorgeous i cant wait to put her in it!

rg- its great getting in the bath with her- worth sacrificing the bubble bath for! you should deffo do it with ellie, its so fun!

choc- fingers are crossed! have you got a date? hope the tidying wasnt too boring!!

jarm- daniels gown sounds gorgeous! have to put some pics up from the christening! how was the car booty? he is gonna be one tall boy!

jet- you are a domestic goddess!! i cant even sew! aww that must be so cute seeing them in the bath together! i cant wait till raimee can sit up in it on her own! hope william sleeps better for you tonight.

lom- thomas is gorgeous! he will be a proper little heartbreaker - hes already got the girls all cooing over him!! hehe!

febes- wow nursery is expensive! im panicking now! i only want raimee to go in for a couple of hours while im in lectures - is that possible or do they have to go in for whole morning/ afternoon? the nct sale sounds like a bargain! im gonna have to find out if there are any around here, sounds brilliant! il have to try the flannel idea out, and the little swim at the end- so cute!!

hope everyone has a good day, the sun is back yay!

RGPargy · 16/06/2008 15:17

Sam - i got in the bath with her on Saturday night and it was lovely. She was having a great time splashing around!

The picnic was really nice, except for me being bitten by two big fat mozzies on my neck! I bought two miniature bottles of fizzy wine and we cracked them open on the rug and drank from our lovely bright blue wine "glasses". very posh lol!

Hope everyone's having a good day!

sam - your uni should have some kind of facilities for childcare, though it's worth checking them asap as places can get filled up quickly. Our nursery isn't so expensive, about £33 a day, though we have 2 there so it adds up quickly! Half days are about £18. Check tax credits too, you might qualify for assistance.

rg - sounds like you had a lovely day. Bathing with the kids is lovely isn't it!

febes - glad you've got the childcare sorted. at the cost, whereabouts are you? Again - check you might qualify for child tax credits to help you.

choc - keeping everything crossed for you! Our friends, whose sale fell through just a few weeks ago have now exchanged and are moving on wednesday - they are very relieved!

Dad's birthday was lovely, as was the cake!! Tonight's domesticity consists of doing the ironing, not very exciting! William is enjoying discovering new tastes - he loves courgette, which I find a bit weird, but it's a good sign I suppose.

sam86 · 17/06/2008 10:05

jet- i checked with uni but they have to stay in from 9 till 5 which i dont want or need! theres a sure start childrens centre near to us with a creche/nursery so i might give them a go today. my neice goes to after school club there and i know she enjoys it.i can apply for some help with the cost off the student loan company thankfully! fingers crossed i can sort something! the cake sounded gorgeous btw! pass us some!

rg- glad the picnic went well- i was thinking of you as it was cold here!! aww its so cute in the bath with them isnt it? it sounds like all our babies are water babies doesnt it?

im a bit annoyed today tbh, dp's sister has all of a sudden decided she doesnt want to be raimees godmother on sunday, because she hasnt got any new clothes and doesnt want to feel sick standing up in front of ppl (shes preg) im really annoyed with her coz ive been speaking to her so i know her morning sickness isnt that bad - just the normal hating strong smell etc nausea, and you only have to stand up for about 2 mins. shes said shes just coming to the church and then leaving as well. tbh we dont even think she will come - we are awaiting the 24hr mystery bug phone call! its just so frustrating coz i dont think thats the real reason (her dh is really possesive) and we go to all their things but they ever put effort in for anything we/ rest of family do. also ithink she could have said something earlier seeing as we booked this in January (her children were supposed to be getting christened at same time but when the church said we couldnt book them in and that she had to come in and do it she didnt bother and "changed her mind"). maybe im being too harsh but im just a bit fed up of always hearing dp on the phone saying "dont worry about it, its ok" whenever she pulls out of something etc. and its to be raimees godmother, something really important. my best friend is also godmum, and she is quite ill at the moment, having loads of scans and tests to find out what the problem is and she is still coming. and she didnt even tell us herself- she got their mum to phone and do it for her after she had done the groundwork on sun saying that she had no clothes and asking who else was godparents (i also think its poss coz we havent asked her dh coz there was already going to be 4)!its going to be so shameful telling the priest that since we last seen him on saturday one of the godparents has decided not to bother.
urgh anyway rant over! (sorry i just need to vent it out somehow!)

anyway i hope everyones ok - sorry for the essay! ive managed to scratch one of the alloys already after only 4days -im gutted! jet- i need that cake!!

RGPargy · 17/06/2008 18:45

Sam - your dp's sister is being really out of order isn't she, (IMO!). She could have told you earlier!!

Glad you can vent here, that's what MN is all about lol.

OP posts:
jetgirl · 17/06/2008 21:04

sam - I'll go and put the oven on right away!! seriously though, sounds like she's not worthy of being godmother to your daughter if she's behaving like this. Raimee deserves better
MN is all about venting!

Ok, where's the sieve?...

Febes · 18/06/2008 09:22

Morning ladies!!

Anabels first day at nursery went really well. She didn't cry once and ate all her food. She only slept for an hour altogether though so she was shattered when she got home but thats fine by me as long as she is happy. I cried from the time I left home till I got to school and then again at lunch time but this morning I was much better. She got a little report card telling me she went on an outing and what she ate and when her nappies were changed which was good to know.
It is expensive but that's SW London for you. Even the childminders are £45 per day but I couldn't find one at short notice. I supply the nappies but they give her 3 meals while she is there. As long as they look after her well its fine.

I'm glad its my last day today again. Tomorrow I am going to tots time at the swimming pool with a friend friend my antenatal group. I'm really excited as i've only taken Anabel swimming once and that was in NZ 3 months ago so I think she will love it this time as she is much older. I'm a bit worried about myself in my costume again its a scary thought.

Baby signing was really cute. They taught us routine words milk, food, bath, good morning, good night, sleep etc. We did some songs and I really enjoyed it. I was a bit synical before I went and was only really going because my friend wanted to but I think it will be really good and beneifical. I keep forgetting to do the signs but I am trying to do them as much as possible.

Thats about all my news. Still no teeth, still no mortgage offer which is very stressful considering we are meant to exchange on friday. I hope we don't lose this place. We will still selling so the worst that can happen is we will be homeless! Great!!

Wrap up warm its chilly out today. xx

sam86 · 18/06/2008 09:52

thanx for the cake jet, was lovely!!

rg & jet - thanx for understanding and letting me fume! ive calmed down a bit more over it now though i wont be bothering her again over anything as special as that. you're right, raimee really does deserve better, she deserves people who want to be and are honoured to be her godparents!

febes- really hope your mortgage offer comes through by fri- have they given you any update on it? the nursery sounds really good- i really like the report card - its nice to know what theyve been upto without you! it must be so hard - im really not looking forward to having to leave raimee in september. dps mum has offered to have her but (and this sounds terrible) i dont trust her there for a number of reasons. anyway, hopefully the nursery will be as good as yours sounds! hope you enjoy the swimming - id be going today except am waiting for the washing machine man! lol! have a splash for me and raimee!

im really feeling the holiday need today! sooo want to go away but it seems so far away now- unlikely we can go until winter what with house move/ car etc. just waiting for the washing machine man today so nothing exciting! (and itll be the fridge man on fri! lol) hope your all doing something more exciting!! sam xx

littleoldme · 18/06/2008 18:19

Sam - Hope manage to sort oout the nursery. I bet if you go to your union they'll be able to help.
I'm with the others on this; Raimee definately deserves better than your dp's sister. It's not exactly the example you want setting is it. Maybe she's just behaving like a self obesessed moose because she is one.

Febes - Hope the mortgage gets sorted out. Moving is soo stressful but just think how great it will be once you're in.

RG - glad you are enjoying co-bathing. It's great.

Well I've had a very busy day. I really wanted some new clothes but whenever i shopping I can't find anything. So I appeased the shopping gods by telling myself I'd just go for a potter round town and not really look for anything. I came back with two tops, a pair of shoes and the most amazing tum shaping knickers! Not bad eh. I feel half human again.

LizzieO · 19/06/2008 14:43

Hey eveyone

hope your all good, had a bit of a worry this am when i took DS1 and Ollie to park, put ollie on the toddler climbing frame (sounds bad but it was a little flat bit and i was standing right next to him ) anyway he fell on his face and his nose started bleeding, it was awful, amyway he's ok now but i have got bad mummy points. He is crawling everywhere now and its a bit of a mare, have had to get the stair gates down from the loft, thing is DS1 didn't start crawling until 15 months and then he wasn't very adventurous, but Ollie is into absolutley everything !!!

Littleoldme - its great having a bit of retail therapy isn't it, i'm still a stone off pre baby weight so keep telling myself that when i get down to my ideal weight i'll splurge.....not gonna be anytime soon then ha ha ha

SAM - i can def understand you feeling upset about DP sister, she should have felt honoured to be asked, it sounds a bit weird to me, and i'm sure theres another underlying reason, at the end of the day though she is the ones who going to miss out, and i bet as shes gets to know Raimee better she'll be upset that she turned down

Febes - hope your feeling better and not so stressed and that your mortgage offer has come through, i mean blimey they are cutting it fine aren't they, why are they taking so long, we are also in the process of moving so we'll see what happens

Hello RG, Jet, Sparkly, Greedy and eveyone else
xxxx

silkcushion · 19/06/2008 21:38

hello you've probably all forgotten me. Have not posted since being back at work full time (that was end of feb)

Sorry - haven't read the thread yet apart from Lizzie's post. Have we got crawlers? Isn't that early or am I just clueless?

Anyway big hellos to everyone and snuggles for those wriggly babies

RGPargy · 19/06/2008 23:17

Silk!!! Hello and wb!! Course we haven't forgotten you! Quite of few people have disappeared into their real lives in the real world, as it goes lol. I think the early November ones must be crawling. DD isn't even stable at sitting on her own for longer than a few seconds yet!!

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 20/06/2008 13:28

Hi all. Callum can now crawl backwards and he says 'dada and mama' He is still BF but only about 5 times a day now. He is back to sleep through the night too
Hope everyone is ok

silkcushion · 20/06/2008 19:02

Blimey sgk - when I last logged on he was just a wee thing.

RG - Megan counts as early Nov - 7th - she's been sitting up for ages (not quite 5 months) but no dada babbling or crawling yet. They are so much fun now they are so interactive aren't they?

silkcushion · 20/06/2008 19:03

just reread my message. Megan hasn't been sitting up for 5 months - I meant she was nearly 5 months when she did it!

SparklyGothKat · 20/06/2008 19:42

Had Callum weighed today, he weighes in at....

Taa daaa!!!!!

16lb 5oz!!!!

RGPargy · 21/06/2008 10:24

Silk - Ah yeah, that's a whole month earlier than Ellie then. She wasn't born til 5th December.

Sparkly - that's a great weight!!

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 21/06/2008 10:44

check out my profile, DS1's foot is flat!!!

Greedygirl · 22/06/2008 16:45

Sparkly - that is fab!

Hi Silkcushion!

Just logging on to say hi, just got back from Rutland and DH birthday too. Rutland is south of Lincolnshire, very pretty, had a great time but nice to be home. Hope everyone is well. xx

jetgirl · 22/06/2008 21:42

Hi all!

Sparkly - Callum's really piling it on now, isn't he? He looks fab! Great news about DS1 too

greedy - glad you had a nice holiday

silk - welcome back!

lizzie - hope ollie's recovered now! it's scary when they do things like that isn't it? But you can't protect them from everything, and the odd bump isn't going to cause him much distress. I think as mums we remember them far worse than they do!

febes - any news on your move? Glad Annabel enjoyed her first day at nursery. I cried on the first day of both of mine, you would have thought I was used to it second time round, but it was just as hard! I sometimes think things are more entertaining at nursery than at home, because the staff haven't got distractions like housework and cooking to do.

William ate his biggest tea ever today. I made him the lovely lentils from Annabel karmel and he just loved them. Gotta go, DD is refusing to settle tonight. Will catch up properly soon.

iris66 · 22/06/2008 21:44

Hi there - I feel so guilty not posting for so long without any good reason - apart from being crap at at manging 2 under 2 1/2 . I know loads of people do it and MN all the while but I'm not one of them.
Anyhoo I've been trying to keep up with things and glad to see everyone is suffering with/enjoying similar things. DS2 is desprate to walk - he's been crawling for a while and gets very stroppy if he can't stand.Similarly, if you try to feed him, he has a hissy fit as he loves to feed himself(totally independant - no idea where he gets that from - ahem) but seriously, he's much easier than DS1 (probably unfair to say that seeing as DS1 has a shed load of allergies) though has had me up hourly the past 3 nights - for reasons unknown. he's a right solid chunk and loves his food and I adore him. I've finally come to the decision that he's my last baby (which was very hard - but don't think I could physically cope with another, what with the diabetes and my age sniff) but hey, we've 2 fab healthy boys..... glad everyone else is good. xx

iris66 · 22/06/2008 21:46

jetgirl - AK's lovely lentils gave my boys awful wind and the runs!!! was gutted. so glad you had more luck
