hiya everyone, going to bed in a min tho im sure this will still be an essay! i dont really have a cold or anything just feeling tired and side of my face is swollen, just like last time except then it was both sides!(least that means i can have the wine not the lemsip!!) if its not down in the morning im gonna go the docs - i dont think it can be mumps tho coz i havent been around anyone for a lifetime!! lol

i agree with jet- this thread would either have slowed to a halt or been about 1000,000 pages long without RG! you are the comp whizz kid!!

jet- aww i cant wait to see raimee in wellies! must be so cute! glad you had a good night out - to us 1 night out is a social life now!! how times change eh!?i didnt realise rusks were so full of sugar, so thanx 4 the warning! luckily at the mo raimee has about an eighth of it - she just sucks a little bit of the edge and then the dog gets practically a whole rusk so hes happy!tho might explain why he is so hypo!! its briliant taking lo swimming isnt it? theres a baby and toddler group on a tues at r pool and raimee loves it! shes so nosy though she just stares at all the others!

rg- raimee spits drinks out too if i try them from a cup ! she had a little bit of baby juice when it was roasting but now am sticking to water or milk, i suppose they will take to the cups in their own time. i agree with deserving me time, plus i really want it so il just have to get over any guilt - its only when i can hear her babbling away and she sounds so cute i just want to be there!! glad you sorted things out with your friend - dya think you will stay in touch now? hope things work out!

greedy- your not the only one on preg time!! sounds like you had a good weekend! you are all making me crave wine !! adam sounds just like raimee - proper people watcher!

right i am off to bed! have a good night! sam xx

Febes · 04/06/2008 12:07

Hi!!
I'm going with a friend and her baby to baby signing. Not really sure but thought it would be nice to do with Anabel on one of my days off and to meet up with my friend. Its for 6 weeks starting next week. I'll let you know how it goes.
I think I will have to find a nursery for the next 6 weeks for Anabel on the 3 days I work as we need a bit more money so DH can work on those days. Need to have a hunt tomorrow for one. Then it's the holidays and we should be fine. I'm a bit nervous but its only for a short time so not too bad.
We should be moving in 2 weeks so lots of packing for us. I hate moving but at least its a good opportunity to declutter.
Hope you have good weeks.

jetgirl · 04/06/2008 19:05

febes - good luck with the nursery hunt!

RG - I've no idea why he was so grumpy - I mean, he goes to nursery 2 days a week and is fine. I just think he wanted to make my mum work for the evening!

sam - I think you can get low sugar rusks, though our Sainsbury's has stopped stocking them, I certainly used to get them for DD. Now I just have an excuse to finish off what William doesn't eat!

I was creative yesterday evening and made DD a skirt. It was a kit from clothkits hereand looks so cute. It was the first time I've ever made a functional item of clothing so I am really pleased with myself. I'm doing a pinafore dress next.
Work tomorrow, I'm being observed so I'd better get some planning done!

learningallthetime · 04/06/2008 22:46

Hi, Just looked at everyone's photos and the babies are all just so damm cute!

Eva's exactly the same with her cup, she looks like she's been swimming when she's finished - I never knew having a drink of water could be such a trauma!

I'm in the middle of sorting out childcare for when I return to work.

After 6/7 months at home I've realised being a SAHM isn't for me - I never thought I'd want to go back to work but I'm actually kinda excited. But then the guilt kicks in, I feel guilty for leaving her and guilty for wanting to work.

Still not sure about Saturday!

Hope you all have good a week

Easywriter · 05/06/2008 02:10

Hi all, I haven't been around for ages as I rarely get a chance to post as my life is so hectic with everyday stuff. (just call me Staff!)

Glad to catch up with what's going on with you. Can't believe that 6 months have gone by and now maternity leave is drawing to a close for some of you.

I know I don't know you LATT but I'd say happy mummy = happy baby and if being an SAHM isn't for you then you're doing the best thing possible for yourself and your baby if you go back to work.

I'm going to post some photo's of Marnie. She's doing the usual sort of stuff for her age. The only thing she did early was teethe! She's got two which she's had for about two months now. Since she's a BF baby I wasn't very happy about this 'first'.

I hope to check in a bit more often (and maybe at a sensible time) so hopefully talk to you all again soon. If not I'll have to just keep loitering and keeping up with what's going on with you all.

By the way, beautiful babies one and all, ladies!!

RGPargy · 05/06/2008 07:50

Easy - Heyy!!!! Long time no see!! Marnie is just soooooo cute!!!

Jet - How very DomGod of you!! Very impressive!

Sam - hopefully my friend and I will stay in touch. i think 28 years is a hell of a long time to know someone and still be friends so it'd be a shame if our friendship died a death now.

Febes - I've got a little baby signing book and i try and sign "milk" and "eat" to DD whenever i give her either her bottle or her breakfast/dinner. Not sure if she's takign any notice or not tho. I'd love to do a class too. I might look into it and see what the cost is. Let us know how you get on with it!

MIL is coming over today to see DD although as she's having DD when i go back to work, i'm wondering if it'd be better for DD if she went over there for a few hours today instead, so that she gets used to being at MILs and me not being there, IYSWIM??

Have a lovely day everyone.

Hey everyone

long tinme no see,i need to catch up with everyones news but i'm just gonna book mark now

I hope you and babies all doing well

Ollie is doing well, he now has 6 teeth OMG !! someone said to me the other day "oh my god look hes got a mouth full of teeth, is that normal to have so many teeth" ha ha ha

He also crawled yesterday ! i knew it wasn't going to be long cos hes being getting up on to all fours for some time, he can also manage to sort of caterpillar accross the room, and if you let him go for long enough will eventually get stuck under the sofa or coffeee table hes turned into very smiley gurny baby which i'm pleased about, cos the first few months he did seem to cry a lot more than DS1 ever did.

DS1 is going through a bit of a funny patch bless him, he has started wetting himself again so i have had to put a nappy back on, and he went thru some kind of funny mystery illness where he went deathly pale and just didn't want ot eat, his appetite is back now but i think he needs a bit of TLC

Will try and stick a recent pic of ollie up on my profile

hope your all well
Lxxxx

sam86 · 07/06/2008 08:56

what are the odds? dont know if any of you watch big bro, but i used to be friends with dale so was bit of a shock to see him on there! and dp wasnt too happy as we had a lil bit of history, but hes ok now as i think now he can see for himself that dale just isnt my type at all really.
i dont think il like any of the housemates at the mo tho darnell seems really sweet and most genuine so far.

lizzie- i hope ds1 gets back to his normal self soon, and little ollie sounds like hes doing brilliantly! wow @ 6 teeth!! none here still just yet!

the signing sounds like a good idea- im startin baby massage class next week tho im so nervous going on my own! dp has just started a new job so im getting used to him being away all day (usually with him being a taxi driver he could come home in middle of day - first day was a DISASTER! raimee was screaming her head off in the asda and i was trying to carry the basket and push the pram and carry my stupidly heavy handbag- realising ive had it easy with dp coming home for middle of day!!

il try and get back on later and post bit more, hope your all having a nice day xx

littleoldme · 07/06/2008 10:08

Choc - How's the house stuff working out now? Hope things are looking up.

Jet - thanks for the heads up on the sugary rusks. I just assumed they would be ok. I've got some sugar free ones now.

Easy - Good to hear from you again. Marnie is totally gorgeous.

Sam - Ohh that's exciting. Will be seeing you in Heat magazine soon then?

We are all well here. T still isn't going through the night. Someone has told me to try and give him wter when he wakes up instead of milk...

DanJARMouse · 07/06/2008 10:31

Hi guys!

We are just back from our first family holiday - what a nightmare!!! It was fun, but hard work!

Daniel is SO big now, teething, dribbling and generally piling on the pounds!

He is now gobbling food like there is no tomorrow (but will only eat Hipp Organic - wont touch anything homemade or any other jar - fussy bugger!) and is still sleeping all night (well until we went on holiday!) just trying to get back into some sort of routine!

Hope you are all doing well, these babies dont stay tiny for long do they! Daniel is on his hands and knees rocking, so dont think it will be long until he is mobile! Still refuses to sit up though, prefers to be standing!

Take care all xxx

sam86 · 07/06/2008 18:15

lom- haha no chance of that, has caused enough trouble here already. hope you can get a good night sleep again soon! im still nakerd after getting a full nights kip so i cant imagine how your feeling.

jarm- hi! glad you had a brill hol!how was it with all the baby equipment? any tips!?

raimees developed a total hate for the buggy, after about twenty mins in it she will not stop screaming no matter what you do (well until you pick her up which isnt always possible!), fingers crossed she'll get used to it soon otherwise i will soon have bulging biceps lol.

hope everyones good, dp has took lo out so ive got a bit of time to myself which has been great- though i tried to hoover and the fuse in it blew so i still have a good excuse for not gettin house done mwahahah !! xx

RGPargy · 07/06/2008 20:45

Hi lizzie! nice to see you! So nice to hear that Ollie is developing well. Six teeth tho?? OMG!!! Hope DS1 sorts himself out soon, bless him.

Sam - small world re Dale, eh?! From what i've seen so far tho, i have to say that the girl who keeps screaming and jumping up and down is getting right on my t*ts!!!

LOM - Sorry that Thomas still isn't sleeping through, the little munchkin! It'll be interesting to see if he takes the water instead of the milk. Maybe then he'll realise that there's nothing worth waking up for and not bother waking up in the first place!

Jarm - Hellooooooo!! glad you had a good holiday - you deserved it!

I have to say (and i really dont want to brag here) that i am amazed at Ellie's sudden change in sleeping habits. I used to let her nap on the sofa on her back when i was pottering around downstairs (she wasn't rolling over, so no danger there). Recently however she just kept catnapping for 10 minutes because she was constantly getting disturbed by the TV or other surrounding noises and it was making her a little grumpy. So on Monday i decided enough was enough i would put her in her cot for naps and see what happens. To my total amazement, she whinged for about 5 seconds and then was out like a light for about 2 hours!! She has been like this ever since but doesn't even whinge anymore! I can put her in her cot wide awake, put a blankie on her, draw the curtains and leave the room. i dont hear a peep from her for at least an hour. Even at bedtime i do the same and it's wonderful not to have to rock her to sleep in my arms. Happy days!!! Dont worry tho, i'm aware that this could all change at the drop of a hat so i'm counting my blessings with every day that she sleeps well lol.

I see everyone's babies' development and think "wow, DD doesn't do that yet!" but then have to remind myself that she is in some cases a good 5 weeks behind because she was actually born in December. In theory i suppose i'm gatecrashing but hey, tough luck coz you're stuck with me.

Anyway, enough of my bragging. Off to play COD4 with new downloaded maps in a mo. have a lovely evening everyone!

OP posts:
jetgirl · 07/06/2008 21:49

I'm eating vienetta and having a nice glass of wine, the kids are in bed and DH is at a beer festival, this is really rather lovely!!

easy - nice to hear from you again, your girls are gorgeous!

lizzie - just when you think they've got the toilet thing sorted they go and start weeing agin don't they?! DD weed on the floor in Mothercare the other weekend, and then again in the cafe at the swimming pool! I have to say I'm quite glad William isn't crawling yet - I really will need eyes in the back of my head then! Ollie is making great progress.

Jarm - you're back too!! glad you had a good holiday. Where did you go?

lom - William isn't really sleeping through either. He manages a full night about once a fortnight, and his worst nights are the ones when I have to work the next day, proabably because I have to get up at 6!! At the moment he has a horrible cough and I've been up for a couple of hours just comforting him, then I can't get back to sleep which is so annoying. Then when he does sleep through DD for some reason wakes up! She was up at 4 on Thursday morning...

rg - Ellie's only 2 weeks younger than William and as I've said he's nowhere near crawling yet. It's fasinating how differently they develop though. DD wasn't fussed by crawling, then once she mastered it, at 9 months, decided it was rubbish and decided to try walking instead. She was crawling before she could roll over!! If I wanted to do something I just had to put on her back and she couldn't follow me

I had a lovely evening on Thursday as I caught up with an old school friend who had a baby in February - he's a William too. She had a horrible labour - 42 hours which ended in an emergency c-section. He weighed 9lbs 10!! Because he had swallowed meconium and got an infection he was in special care for 5 days alongside babies born at 28 weeks! My friend said he looked so out of place! Anyway, he's doing fine now, and weighs as much as my William . It was so good to catch up, she lives in East Sussex now so we don't get to see each other often.

Looking forward to some lovely sunshine tomorrow, nighty night!

RGPargy · 08/06/2008 20:48

Hope you enjoyed your vienetta Jet!! Sounds lush!

OP posts:
Greedygirl · 09/06/2008 09:23

Hi just checking in but nothing really to say...

Hope you are all enjoying the lovely sunshine.

ChocolateHobnob · 09/06/2008 09:45

Mmm, sunshine is lovely, Greedygirl!

Sam, have avoided BB (smugly!!!) so dont know who Dale is but am intrigued!!!

RG, you need to be a proud mummy! well done Ellie. LOM, Thomas is much better at sleeping than Rebecca, honestly, so I wouldnt worry about one night feed. She has one too - well, around 4.30 am - but she is awake a minimum of six times before that (on a good night) or every 45 minutes (on a typical night) or awake for hours at a time (on a bad night). Although it was a tad better last night, for no obvious reason, it has been absolutely terrible for a while. Fingers crossed we turned a corner last night...

How is food going for everyone? R is eating everything in sight now. Made cauli cheese for her today and am going to make bolognaise sauce to try her on pasta tomorrow.

Well news from here is that we're more or less ready to agree dates for exchange and completion hopefully reasonably soon, and fingers crossed noone drops out in the interim. Went to see new house on Sat - it's really lovely. The garden is overgrown badly, so we'll need a pro in to sort it out. The kitchen is fab. The rest of the house is okay decor wise - I mean it's not exactly to my taste but we have a lot of time to change it. Exciting.
The weather has been FAB so we spent some of Saturday at the park, then Sunday we had a BBQ and got R's paddling pool out. She loved it. This afternoon I'm going to see a friend; hope we can sit in her garden!!!

Enjoy the sunshine everyone.

sam86 · 10/06/2008 09:18

choc- glad things are back on track with the house! i cant wait to move either! looks like we'll both be spending our time in b&q from now on!! your weekend sounded perfect!

as for food- roo is trying to grab anything we are having at the moment, including our cups! sometimes shes wolfing down her purees and other times not as fussed- seems to have gone off her porridge but is eating more in the afternoon now. she loves having finger food too tho i think most of that ends up munched up on the floor (so the dogs happy!).when do you need to start reducing their milk? she seems to be doing it herself, leaving a couple of ounces and having a smaller evening bottle than normal, so im just following her lead at the mo, is that ok?

we put her down at 10 last night and shes still asleep so im made up at the mo tho might go and check on her coz im getting worried! i cant really complain with her sleeping, tho she only has two usually small naps in the daytime. i know weve been lucky so i hope things change with the babies not sleeping through- cant imagine how tired you all are.

rg- know what you mean re everyones development! roo is a decemeber baby too (but like ellie, was due in nov) so we are gatecrashing too (every party needs a gatecrasher!). roo rolls over but no sign of crawling yet, and she loves her jumperoo so much we are starting to worry she will think you walk by jumping up and down! would love to put a camera on the cot at night coz when we go in in the morning she is always in such a different position and place to where we put her! re BB- i love the thai girl shes so funny! the screaming girl is annoying- she is the jade/ kinga of this year i think after last nights antics!

jet- viennetta and wine - sounds delicious! so funny you both called your little boys william!! did you each know or was it a suprise? at her labour, sounds pretty horrific. and hes such a big boy as well!! (know this isnt the same-theres a programme being advertised at the moment where the baby was a stone! i dont even wanna imagine!

well the sunshine is carrying on!! got to wait in for the washing machine man today so will be in the garden!! hope you all have a good one!

sam xx

LizzieO · 10/06/2008 10:20

Hey everyone

another sunny day here

Sam - wow i am impresseed with the whole Dale sitution, i watched the opening BB round at a mates house and she was drooling over him, i guess we could really be seeing you splashed accross heat

RG - well done to Ellie for cracking the whole nap during the day thing, are you back at work now ? I am going up to town tommorrow to meet up with some of the girls from work, we are all taking redundo, its a bit weird really , i thought i would miss work but i really haven't

Choc - fingerz crossed for the move, we are also in the throes of moving, but obviously cautious until we have acutally exhanged, if it does goes well we would be in for the end of summer - its a bit nerve wrecking tho' isn't it ?

Jet - i'm prob going to have a world with HV, i'm sure DS1 doesn't even know himself why he has gone back to wetting himself, he has just been so brilliant taking himself off to do wees and poos no probs, and then all of a sudden this, its no doubt got something to do with Ollie but i'm not sure how to handle it other than lots of enouragment and maybe back to prizes for using the loo

I'm going to put a pic of ollie up wedged under the coffe table, he is now crawling about everywhere albeit like a very slow and noisy tortoise

BTW i'm sure a lot of you have already got it but i recommend Annabel Carmels baby cook book, the recipes are really good

Febes · 10/06/2008 15:48

Hey everyone
I'm so stressed at the moment and me and DH are fighting lots. We have pressure to exchange but still waiting for our mortgage offer. DH wants to work more so I have had to find childcare and work is always busy.
The good news is I found a nursery close to work that can take Anabel so for the next 6 weeks she will go there then its holidays for me and then I have found a lovely childminder. I'm going to have a proper look around there on thursday so I hope its not manky.

I was also wondering when she will drop a feed. I'm finding it hard to express so much now. I'm not relaxed enough but DH gives Anabel a bit of formula if theres not enough. I'm not going to get too worried about it but I do want to keep BFing as its easier for me when I'm with Anabel.

Must dash. Gorgeous day here.
Sam- Dale is well hot!!!

jetgirl · 10/06/2008 15:52

Loving this weather, I'm sure work think I've skived today, but William has a chest infection so I kept him at home. Nursery asked me to collect him at 11:30 yesterday morning as he was running a temperature of 40 . Doc checked him over and said his cough was a chest infection (and there was I thinking it was a cold) and prescribed anitbiotics!! Anyway, he's much happier today, the antibiotics are kicking in and he's cooler. He just wants sleep and mummy milk today. His first tooth has just popped through today too, couldn't feel it yesterday, but this morning it was definitely there and very sharp.

lizzie - lol at slow and noisy tortoise! I think DD's wetting is probably to do with William, maybe an attention thing, let me know what the HV suggests.

sam - it was pure coincidence we called them both William. A lovely one I think too. I've seen that trailer and there was something about the big babies on This Morning today. The one that weighed a stone at birth is now 5 stones at 3 years .

rg - how was COD4? DH has been playing something called world of warcraft on his PC and hasn't played COD4 for ages now.

sam86 · 10/06/2008 17:18

just a quickie (ooer!! ) - raimees been saying "dada dad" all day! does this count as her first word or should i just take it as her practising sounds!? i am prob bit eager- shes only just over 6 months now so im guessing couldnt be a first word?!? anyway it should be mama first haha...

oh n dale- he isnt v nice really - we were living in the same halls for a year, and there was a group of me him and 4 others who all hung out together, and we had a stupid night-and apparently he had a lot of others - and then he brought his girlfriend down of a year from st helens!! nobody even knew he had one- not even the lads in our group! so hes really not that nice at all, plus hes not my type was just a v stupid rebound thing. il just share the goss with all us MNers - heat can wait hahaha!

lizzie- lol at tortoise!! so cute! cant wait to see the pic! raimees still nowhere near crawling i dont think! hope Ds1 gets back to his usual self again soon, you sound like you are doing all the right things to me so am sure he will.

febes- hope you feel better, its so stressful buying a house bt even worse with the market the way it is, hope your mortgage offer comes through and you can move forward with it. the nursery sounds good, let us know how that goes on thurs- fingers crossed itll be lovely! i need to start finding one too for when i go back to uni in september- i only want her to go in for the couple of hours a day il be at uni - do nurserys do that or would she have to stay all day? dp was going to be having her but now hes stopped being self emplyed he wont be able to.

rg + jet- what is COD4!?!?

jet- aww that is lovely! just goes to show that you must both have loads in common/same tastes! it mustve been really funny when you both realised!! i hope your william feels better soon, giv him a hug from me! raimee hasnt been sick yet and i am dreading it- i just know i will be sticking the thermometer in her ear every two mins!the weather being so hot prob isnt helping him stay cool either. @ 5 stone 3yr old! why?! has he got some sort of thyroid problem or something? im going to have to watch it 2moz night- it should definitley give me the impetus to get started on this cambridge diet!

oh- has anyone here had/or know anyone/ whos had laser eye surgery? am booked in for the 24th arg! (a good excuse to delay diet tho haha) my friends mum and auntie both had it done at the same clinic a few months ago and said it was brilliant so fingers crossed! xx

sam86 · 10/06/2008 17:18

ha- that really wasnt a quickie at all- more of an essay- i didnt expect raimee to stay quiet so long!!

littleoldme · 10/06/2008 21:47

Hello!

RGPargy · 11/06/2008 18:39

Sam - sorry to disappoint but they are deffo just babbling sounds as she wont really have any comprehension as to what dadada actually means!! First words comes much much later - anything from 12 months ++ i think??

COD4 is a computer game, it stands for Call of Duty 4. it's basically a game where you are either the army type people or the terrorist type people and just go around shooting your opposing team members lol.

Febes - sorry you are having a rough time. Try not to stress with the expressing as it'll make it harder for you. Truth be told i found expressing to be a real chore and in the end i could get nothing out so i gave up!

LOM - hello!

Lizzie - No, not back at work just yet. I go back on 31st July. I had asked to work Monday and Tuesday during August and then Mon, Tues & Weds from September onwards. Unfortunately however those who have come back from mat leave before me have all nabbed those days and now they have only one part timer who works on a Friday so they have asked me to do Thurs & Fri for August and then Weds, Thurs & Fri from September. No skin off my nose really. As DP pointed out, at least i'll still get the Friday feeling and will have the pleasure of not getting Monday morning blues!!

Jet - i never got to play it in the end. DP got fed up and switched it off before i managed to leave the PC alone lol.

Better go for now - DD is in need of having mummacuds.

Daniel is poorly got d&v but more D than v! Hoping its a side effect from teething, but am keeping an eye on him!

how is everyone else? Daniel has been saying dada for what feels like an age - learn mumumumumumumum you silly boy!!!
