Febes - fingers crossed for the scan. Are you having a surprise? Congratulations on the bargain hunting - I went shopping today and got a £200 coat for £30 Very happy with that!
Loopy - William is slowly coming around to beeing left with DH, though refuses all milk from him when I'm not in. He is less grumpy now though. Hope it soon passes for your DH!

William is sleeping well - only waking once in the night now for a feed, and settling himself easily if he wakes up in addition to the feed. I never thought I'd be grateful for just one feed a night, but as he's been much worse, this feels like I'm almost a normal person!

We're having our bathroom renovated this week, it was going to be a few weeks time, but our builder could fit us in this week which is perfect as it's half term. Upstairs is slightly resembling a building site though...

Febes · 27/10/2008 18:15

We have one beautiful baby 5.5cm long and looking healthy!! Due date 8th May. I'm so happy and pleased it was jumping around and waving to us. I think its a boy but thats just gut feeling we aren't going to keep it a surprise.

Febes · 27/10/2008 19:45

I mean we are going to keep it a surprise.

RGPargy · 27/10/2008 20:19

Awww Febes . I'm so excited for you and really pleased everything is ok XX

Loopy - Sorry we missed you. Dh took his laptop so I got your email and gave you a call but you must have been out or knee deep in DDs We spent the day in Dawlish and had a top time.

Jet - Well done on the coat - that's my kind of bargain. Now you have saved £170 pounds you can spend on more clothee
Glad you are getting some kip.

Don't forget to e mail me re birthdays so far I've hot Greedy, Rg, Febes and Jet. X

I took T to the park today. I though I had him dressed warmly enough but the poor little mite was shivering with cold. I felt like such a bad Mummy.

Greedygirl · 29/10/2008 14:11

Hi everyone

LOM - we popped to York yesterday and it was soooo cold and Adam was really whingy, I felt really awful because we only had one blanket, no mittens and no foot muff thingy!

Febes - I am a wee bit - what a lovely time. Glad the scan went well and everything is tickety-boo.

Loopy - poor you, poor DH and poor DD! Adam is definately less "stable" when I am not around but getting better.

Jet - wow! I am rubbish at bargain hunting, I like all the shiny new clothes and get sidetracked. I have learnt to love TKMax though so I am better than I used to be. I had a better wardrobe when I was a student with loads of store cards and not a care in the world.

Must go, my mum and dad are down from Shetland and having a lovely time with their DGS who is being a complete star and charming the pants off them. When is your mum over RG?

Febes · 30/10/2008 09:17

Morning!!!
Anabel is so cute today she is playing so nicely and then sits back and laughs at herself. Its making me smile. Some days she is very clingy and won't paly and just wants me the whole time so I'm enjoying her this morning.
I put on Ceebeeies yesterday for the first time and she was so excited and actually watched it. I felt a bit guiltly but I was sitting with her (mning ) It was big cook little cook and its quite cute. I'm sure I'll use it lots when LO comes along .

RGPargy · 30/10/2008 10:58

Hi everyone

LOM - it's awful when things like that happen isn't it. Ellie woke up early yesterday morning and i'm sure it was because she was cold. I'd only put her in a short sleeved and short legged sleep suit and her sleeping bag but the temperature drops so much between 11pm and 5am in our house that she probably was freezing. I made sure i put her in a nice warm babygrow last night and she slept much better, bless her.

Greedy - enjoying having your parents over! Mum's coming on 3rd December, so not too long to wait. I'm not looking forward to picking her up from the airport tho, especially in the bloody rush hour! Might have to make the trip earlier and then just have a wonder round the shops and give Ellie some dinner there or something. I really dont fancy sitting on the M25/M23 for hours!

Have a nice ladies

Febes · 30/10/2008 12:54

OK girls so what are you all planning for the first birthdays?
I want to make Anabel a cake and our antenatal group are meeting up to go to a local city farm and then for lunch. 4 or 5 babies/families. Anyone else doing nice things??

littleoldme · 30/10/2008 18:53

Febes - Don't feel guilty I regularly plonk T infront of In The Night Garden whilst I get stuff done. He's also completely captivated by Deal or No Deal

For T's birthday Dh is taking the day off and we're having a day out somewhere. the Grandparents are coming over for cake at tea time then we're having dinner together. Our antenatal group is planning a party in January too.

Greedy - Glad I'm not the only one. I was so horrifed that I've bought T one of these in red. He looks sooo cut and cosy in it.

RG - When's your mum arriving ??
We've had that problem with the cold at night. We now put the heatring on for an hour between 2 and 3

Well yesterday I went to my mum's which is about an hour and half away. On the way home the motorway was closed in both directions so I ended up going back as I visions of being stuck for hours on a diversion route in rush hour with T screaming for his dinner. It took me over an hour do eight miles My sister was staying with my nephews so there was much scurrying around for a spare cot. We dedicided it was like the war.

It's been lovely having a couple of weeks off. I'm desperate to give up work and stay at home with T. The annoying thing is we could just afford it so the possibility never goes away. Damn those feminists - what if I want to stay at home, bake bread and figure out new and ingenious ways to remove gravy stains from my husband's silk ties ????

Febes · 30/10/2008 19:03

LOM - I have just order one in red!! I figure if LO is a boy it will be worn again. Good price!!
I am going to give up work in April to be SAHM and I can't wait.

RGPargy · 30/10/2008 19:53

Febes - Not planning anything much really as it's no doubt going to be bloody cold outside lol. I think i'm just going to invite my usual weekly lunch mates over for a lunch or something. I really dont know what else to do! Hmmm... perhaps an outing might be better?? Oh i just DONT KNOW!!!

Actually, i think a day out would be great. I might chuck the idea at DP and see what he says.

LOM - Mum's here on 3rd December. Only 5 weeks away! Certainly sounds like you had a close call by doubling back from the mway! It's bad enough that it took you another hour but can you imagine being stuck for hours and hours?!!

I would love to be a SAHM. I cannot wait for when we can afford for me to give up work but because of our hefty mortgage it doesn't look like it'll be possible just yet. I think at best i will be able to cut down my working days to 2 days a week again, rather than 3 so that'll be better than nothing.

Cute little fleece suits btw!

OP posts:
Greedygirl · 31/10/2008 09:18

Love that fleecy suit! Might have to invest in one as we are going to Shetland for xmas and even with his new cositoes footmuff he will still be cold. I am now wondering if the cold is waking him up at night. The thermometre (I know that is spelt completely wrong but my brain is mush and I can't be arsed to check) says his room hasn't gone lower than 18 but I feel chilly when I wake up. When can they have duvets and pillows?

Having a complete nightmare with his sleeping at the moment actually. He wakes up at least 2 times a night (only used to wake once) and is very unsettled the second time he wakes, takes ages to go back to sleep. I have tried bringing him into our bed and that only works some of the time. Last night he fell asleep sat up resting against me, he wouldn't lie down! And he keeps pointing at everything in his bedroom and chatting. I think that, even though he is tired, he is worried that he is missing out! I am pooped.

Febes - I feel ridiculous guilt every time I leave Adam in front of the TV for 10 minutes, I have no idea why it has become such a "bad" thing. He is transfixed by Carrie and David's Popshop!

RG - your plan sounds like a good one. The thought of being stuck in a traffic jam with a screaming LO is !!

LOM - I am with you on the SAHM thing, I would love to stay at home with Adam but I am not sure we could afford it without really living on the breadline.

RGPargy · 31/10/2008 13:10

Greedy - I think they can have duvets and pillows from around 12 months but DD is such a fidget there's no way she's stay put in all those bed clothes anyway! I'm going to leave giving her anything like that until she stops doing the conga in her cot at night lol.

DD also wakes up occassionally in the night and wont settle again. I usually find this is down to teething. Apparently their teeth gums play up more when they're laying down as the blood flows to them more and probably makes them throb, which is why DD sometimes wont sleep after she's woken up in the middle of the night unless she's leaning against my chest while i'm sitting up in bed.

Funny you should say about pointing at stuff and chatting, DD was doing just that this morning when i brought her into our bed at stupid o'clock. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself, bless her.

Loopy - Did you stop work after DD1 or 2 ? I really need to try and persuade DH but can't seem to come up with a viable argument. I've offered sexual favours and home baking but to no avail I don't have anything else left in my arsenal.

Febes · 01/11/2008 14:55

LOM- I just received the fleecy red suit it is so gorgeous and snuggly. Can't wait to brave the horrid day and take her out in it. What a bargain.
I just received the ebay package too (good post day in chez Febes) and I'm so happy with the clothes I got beautiful tops and dresses and skirts for under a fiver all ready for next summer (size 18- 24months!!)

Who are you hopefully pregnant??? Mystery woman??? I hope you are all on the road to recovery soon. Its so hard when you are all under the weather isn't it. Especially when compounded with bad sleep. DD was also like this but has masively imporved lately with a bit of gentle ignoring when she woke at night.

Greedygirl · 01/11/2008 20:02

What was all that about then?

RG - it is comforting to know that I am not the only one with a babe who wants to play at night! Interesting re the gums. Guess it is just another phase.

Loopy - I am sure Adam doesn't need milk at nights now but is feeding for comfort but by the time 2 o'clock rolls around it just seems easier to feed him. Let us know how you get on. I thought a duvet would be comfy cosy but you are probably right - he would just wriggle out from under that too.

LOM - my DH would be dead against me being a SAHM. We bumped into someone at a party who is going back to work full-time and he was teasing me saying why didn't I go back full-time . No way! It would make me so unhappy. I have had a lovely half-term with my DS and I may be reading into things too much but I think he seems more settled too. If you find something to persuade your DH then share your tactics!

littleoldme · 02/11/2008 08:33

LAST CALL FOR PRESENT EXCHANGE

Febes - Glad you like the suit. The thing I like about it that once it's all done the hood fits really snuggly so the don't need a hat.
Well done on the e-bay bargains.

Greedy - Glad you have had a good half term. I think T is more settled too.
DH and I had a big chat about the SAHM thing yesterday. Much to my disappointment it makes absolutely no financial sense for me to stop work. When/if we have another DC I'll stop then. FT though NO WAY.

Loopy - I think you want to do the pressie exchange so I'll put you in. Let me know if you don't want to

SparklyGothKat · 02/11/2008 08:44

present exchange?? what did I miss? lol

Callum is walking now, and finally got 2 teeth last week, I only found out when he bit me on my finger in my defence its not his front teeth, its the 2 side top teeth. Still BF, though I am getting fed up with it tbh now, but Callum refuses cow milk so I have to keep going.. soo tired

littleoldme · 02/11/2008 10:17

Sparkly - scroll down to 20th of oct for more info x
