Sarah - lol at Adam sitting up and holding on to the bumper bar! Ellie normally sits in the pushchair and puts her feet up on her bumper bar! I think she'll miss the bar when i get her a nice shiny new Silvercross Pop at the end of August!! Oh well, tuff chuff really because her current pushchair is a monster to fold and drag put into the car and i just cannot fit any shopping in the boot if i have the pushchair in there too, it's horrendous!

So it's day 2 on the work front now and i'm really glad it's Friday. I feel really tired but i think that's because i've got no work to do so my brain is having a shut down for a bit lol. I'm going out for a stroll and some fresh air in a sec so hopefully that'll wake me up.

Left DD in great form this morning and i just cannot wait to get back home to see her tonight!

Have a nice afternoon everyone!

RG- I had to get rid of the Phil adn ted's as it was horrendous in shops. Got myself a Mutsy and the first weekend I was out with it I uturned it adn ended up on top of it upsedie down with baby hanging in it. Thanksfully she was well strapped in but i scared myself to death.

RGPargy · 01/08/2008 22:17

Pixie - How scarey for you!! Hope DD was ok and not too shaken up! What actually happened? Was it the difference in weight between the two that threw your balances etc??

OP posts:
Pixiefish · 02/08/2008 08:20

yes RG plus the difference in length. I ended up stepping off the kerb all wrong and the pram ended up upseide down in the midle of the road with me on the floor next to it.

Dd was totally unhurt- the front bar protected her. I hurt my knee and both legs.

RG - have posted on your other thread.

Pixie - hope you've recovered now!

I've almost finished decorating the dining room now, it looks pretty fabulous and I can't wait to finish it tomorrow. The mess is beginning to drive me crazy!

RGPargy · 04/08/2008 23:11

Thanx Jet, much appreciated.

I could have cried this morning - I got to nursery and discovered one of William's bottles had leaked, so he's one short today. I hope he eats his food to make up for it! DH said 'just take another one in', ummm, where from, I spent ages expressing that lot yesterday and have none spare. And I had a rubbish night as William woke twice, and DD had a bad dream.

On the plus side though - I have finished the decorating so by the time i have to collect the kids the house will be habitable again!!

RGPargy · 05/08/2008 20:35

Oh jet, how annoying for you!! at DH expecting you to magic more milk from thin air at a moment's notice!

hope the decorating went well. ;)

Greedygirl · 05/08/2008 21:59

hi everyone.

Hope DS was ok Jet? And hope you have got the decorating done, I loathe decorating and wish I was rich enough to get someone in.

Read your thread RG and think people being a bit harsh tbh, I really sympathise cos sometimes you feel like you are swimming against the tide and it is tiring and you just want a bit of support from your nearest and dearest! Think you hit the nail on the head re your MIL tho perhaps thinking there is some stigma attached to signing. Hope you and your DP come to an agreement (I know you thought you already had one, my DH does that too!).

Well Royal Mail finally tracked down the sling that I hired and returned about 2 months ago so we may get our deposit back now! Good job we sent it recorded delivery!

Had our check up with HV today and it went well, Adam now weighs in at......(drum roll please)...23lbs! What a bruiser. Doing my upper arms the world of good. Off to post some more recent pics.

Speak to you all soon. x

ChocolateHobnob · 06/08/2008 07:46

Greedy - 23 lbs!!!!! Your milk must be gold topped indeed.

RG, I read your thread but couldn't decide what to say! I agree she shouldn't diss your signing, although I do think she should be able to decide how she entertains DD when she has her. That doesnt mean she has the right to criticise what you do of course and can see why you were hurt. As for the meat/fish thing, you discussed this when pregnant and it's not at all unreasonable to give DD both.

Jet, grrr about the milk!

OK - off to see PILs for a few days. Flying, so DD's first trip on a plane! Have fun, everyone.

RGPargy · 06/08/2008 09:41

Sarah - thanx for your comments, very useful. Glad i'm not the only one who thinks like that!

Glad Royal Mail found the sling! What a relief!

Cant believe he weighs 23lbs!!!! That's brilliant!! I had Ellie weighed on 11th July and she only weighed 16lb 11oz!! I might get her weighed next week just to see if she's anywhere near the weight of getting into a front facing car seat lol.

Choc - Thanx for your comments too. Much appreciated. It's great to see things from different angles because sometimes you can think that you are right and the whole world is wrong!!

Enjoy the plane trip and hope DD enjoys herself!

You are v.welcome RG ! I find it always helps to come and have a moan on here anyway, especially if some people agree with you! TBH if I wasn't breast-feeding Adam I would be worried about his weight but he is healthy and happy and nearly in proportion (big head, short body just like his mum)so I'm dead proud of my little dumpling. When the HV measured his head she said "this baby may never have been able to come out of your vagina!" (I had a c-section) and I really wanted to giggle because she used the word vagina - pathetic! Actually my HV is v.v.lovely and listened to all my witterings about going back to work and breastfeeding and was very reassuring and soothing and I kind of wished I could go home with her afterwards and have a hot cocoa and be put to bed for the afternoon .

Hope your trip goes well Choc, we are going on a plane at xmas so will be interested to see how you get on.

jetgirl · 06/08/2008 20:18

Evening all

Well William survived at nursery without his 3rd bottle of milk, wihch was a relief, and he ate some food which is highly unusual for him! He's eaten quite well today, willingly without me having to catch him when his mouth is open! I'm still waiting for his 8 month check, I had to reaarange the appointment I was sent as i was working that day and I'm still waiting to hear when his new one is. It'll probably be when we're on holiday!

After much deliberating we decided to get DD a dolls house for her birthday. She'll be 3 in 2 weeks, I can't believe my baby girl is turning 3! She has asked for an elephant for her present...

greedy - I know what you mean, if I was rich I would definitely get someone in to do the decorating, but I do feel proud of myself for doing the entire job myself. We are definitely paying for someone to do the bathroom though, there's no way I am tackling that job!

choc - have fun on the plane!

RGPargy · 07/08/2008 12:28

Sarah - lol @ you wanting to giggle and be put to bed!

Jet - when you do normally hear about an 8 month check then? I've not heard anything about Ellie's check and she's 8 months already now. Does the HA automatically send through an appointment?

Just to warn you ladies, be wary of Petit Filous Fromage Frais!!! I've tried Ellie on them and last night she had one for tea and before she'd finished eating it, she was going all hyper!! She'd done it before after eating one but i wasn't sure if it was coincidence or not, but after seeing that she is now BANNED from having them! She stayed up an extra 3 hours last night (til 10pm!) because she was playing up and hyper and i am convinced it's because of the petit filous! Too much sugar me thinks! So because I lost 3 hours of my evening i was up until gone midnight cooking her dinners for today and tomorrow while i'm at work. I then came down this morning at 6ish to discover that i'd left the oven on FULL BLAST all feckin' night too!! Ooops!! I've told MIL that Petit Filous are now banned and explained why so hopefully we wont get a repeat performance of last night. Of course, i could be completely wrong and it could all be due to teething, but i've been thinking she's teething since she was 3 months old and so far there's no sign of any teeth at all!! hehehe!!

Hope you're all having a nice day!

Hello, thought I'd crash in for a bit! My lo is also 23lbs! (not so little) went to clinic to check she was big enough for forward facing car seat! She has now moved from the 75th to above 91st and she is so mobile, crawling and pulling herself up on everything. Like you GG I would be a bit worried if I wasn't bfing, dh and I are both thin so I'm sure dd will loose her thunder thighs (they are quite a sight) when she starts walking. Interesting about petit filous, I haven't looked at the suger, just assumed they were okay, dd is always active, maybe we should go easy on them.

Pixie that sounds scary, glad you are both ok. We have traded in the Silver Cross 3D for a mothercare Aluto, every now and again I get the old one out, because it looks so much nicer, but its too heavy, pushing 20kgs (dd is 10, SC is 10) is too much, really should ebay it.

RGPargy · 07/08/2008 15:51

Hi wonderstuff. I assumed the petit filous were ok too, but the ingredients are fromage frais, sugar, blah blah blah and then some other sugar ending in "ose" so it seems to be pretty high in sugar! Think i'll make my own from now on with greek natural yog and some blitzed up fruit.

OP posts:
jetgirl · 07/08/2008 16:47

rg - each tiny pot has 2 tsps of sugar in it!! I told MIL this at the weekend - she had got 12 pots in for our 2 day visit! We don't get them for the same reasons as you are banning them.
The HA sent out my appt 1 week before the appt, it's automatic I think.

RGPargy · 07/08/2008 17:00

Bloody hell Jet!!! No wonder!!! DEFFO DEFFO banning them for life!!!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 07/08/2008 18:37

Re the yogs. The only ones I've found with no added sugar are Sainsbury's own brand kids ones.

No time to post properly now but lots of love to one and all.XX

RGPargy · 08/08/2008 11:32

Thanx LOM. Will try and get to a Sainsbury's for those then.

Isla stood up on her own today, for about 5 secs, not holding on to anything! She's been cruising for a few weeks, so I knew she would master the standing up on her own thing soon, but I was still shocked!
