hey everyone! just wanted to check in and say hi again! febes- any more news on the house? ive got my fingers crossed that youve exchanged now!
raimee always eats toast too ! tho not getting very far with drinking from a cup still, just a couple of sips and thats it.
we still havent moved as the new house is no where near being finished i absolutley hate decorating. lol. am trying to find a cheap decorator to wallpaper now just to move it along quicker. should be in in a fortnight hopefully and seeing as we wont be plastering like we had planned we might be able to squeeze in a holiday! fingers crossed!

rg- that sounds like a close call with the highchair! ive had similar moments when shes been on the couch next to me rolling around!

finally going to start cambridge diet, got appt to see counsellor tonight. just hope i can keep it up, im still not fully back into my pre preg clothes (half fit half dont ) and just feel such a mess need to sort it out!

well theres a little princess upstairs kicking at the cot sides to let me know shes awake so i must go!! hope your all good! sam xx

Hi LMB!

Everyone's babies seem to be making themselves mobile one way or another. I think Ellie will just suddenly surprise me and shoot across the floor or something lol.

Glad the BLW is going well. It's great fun isn't it! Today DD had philly on toast for breakie, then bean & herb sausage for lunch and then for dinner i gave her steamed pear but she wasn't really in an eating mood so i froze it for another day.

Glad the night times are starting to sort themselves out for you. I think it still takes a while for you to get back into the routine of sleeping deeply at night, without the worry of not being able to hear them if they cry. Even tho DD is in the room next to us, we have both doors shut (to keep the cats out) so i sleep with the baby monitor on my bedside table. There's no way i cant hear her, even if she stirs!

Sam - Hope you get your place finished soon. What a mare! I hate the mess and disruption of decorating etc. I would just love to go out for the day and come back and it's all done. Ta-daaaah!!

Glad i'm not the only one with close calls on the DD front! It's amazing how relaxed you get about stuff like straps, sofas etc until you have a near miss. Certainly makes you tighten your safety belt again!

Good luck with the Cambridge diet. I've managed to lose 18.5lbs on Weight Witches so i'm pretty chuffed with that as it's very easy to stick to I find. I have to say it's lovely seeing the pounds fall off, even tho some days i have bad days and other days i'm purely angelic!

Coping - Welcome to the thread.

Febes - I've got everything crossed for you and your house move. Hope you're enjoying the start of the hols. There's nothing like waking up on the first day of the Summer hols is there.

Iris - Hope the party went well. Love the idea of a namong day.

LMB - Sounds like the BLW is going well. I'm doing a bit with T as he likes grabbing whatever I'm eating and stuffing it in his face. He likes toast, brocolli and chocolate bics so far.

Greedy - LOVE the idea of a massage. Enjoy it when you get there.

jet Do you thonk you could get your DH to give my DH some lessons in whisking loved ones away for the night. Sounds lovely.

RG - Well done for loosing all that weight, that's amazing. What is the Cambridge diet?

Well it's been a bit of week in the LOM household. I went back to work [Darth Vader music] which was like getting into an icy bath. I really don't like teaching anymore. My Head told me, via my boss, thatI was " contractually obliged" to come in for training on Friday. I refused as I don't work Fridays and they've known when I was returning to work since before I went on mat leave; it's a bit much to expect me arrange childcare with less that 48 hours notice. I rang the local union office as our school doesn't have union rep , " The head doesn't like unions." She said, " Your Head is a bully." Rant over

As it happened poor old T got a D and V bug so I couldn't have gone anyway. The poor little man has been proper poorly. He was sick on me yesterday and it bleached my t-shirt. He seems perkier today but I have to confess to feeling ragged after the last few days.

On the upside my Mum did a fab job of looking after T. Also, our floor has finally been done YAY.

RGPargy · 21/07/2008 14:41

Wow, it's been quiet on here!! no posts for two days??!

LOM - The cambridge diet used to be made up of these awful shakes years ago. Think it's probably progressed a bit more these days tho. I really dont like faddy diets like that tho because 8 out of 10 people will put back on all the weight they lost with them as they are not sustainable life changing eating patterns.

Sorry to went back to work. I'm dreading it - i go back next Thursday. Every time i think about it i just start to panic a bit and want to cry!! Your head does sound like a bit of a bully. Tell him to eff off! Hope T is better!

Nothing to report here at Chateau RG. I honestly cant think of anything to write about lol. Crikey, my life is soooo boring!!

I'm off to cuddle DD. Have a nice day everyone.

Rg - our Head is a 'beatch' When I went on Mat leave she told me she couldn't understand why people would want to do that to their bodies.

I'll be thinking of you on Thurs XX

Febes · 22/07/2008 09:25

We exchanged on tuesday afternoon last week and we move tomorrow so I have to have the last day off school what a shame!!!!
Can't wait now!!
I'll post lots once we are moved and back on line.

RGPargy · 22/07/2008 20:58

LOM - it's NEXT thursday that i go back, 31st July, so at least i have one whole week left. Just looked at your profile pics and T is sooooo cute!! Looks like he loves his little walker! Really must get Ellie one - poor little lamb must be so bored in her inflatable donut.....

Febes - good luck with the move! Hope it all goes smoothly.

Helloooooo!

I've been busy with work, but it's the holidays now - hooray! So I can spend more time here...

LMB and Iris - nice to have you back

lom - your head sounds like our old head. our new one is lovely, thank goodness, a total contrast and the culture of fear we had at work has disappeared. Under the old regime we were subjected to regular internal Ofsted style inspections, with 2 days notice. Turns out this was not allowed, and the union stepped in to stop them.

RG - work will be fine - I promise! I've forgotten how many days you're doing. At least you start on a Thursday, so it's close to the weekend.

Febes - congratulations on the move. I hope it all goes smoothly.

William spent all of Sunday throwing up, then smiling at me. He threw up after every single milk feed, starting at 1.30am and calling it a day at 10pm. I got through most of my syummer wardrobe, and we had to change our bedlinen twice! He's prefectly happy now, but DH is suffering after a dodgy takeaway he had last night while I was out with colleagues. I had a fab meal and caught up with a very old friend too DH on the other hand is not a happy bunny, he doesn't even want to play on the PS3

RGPargy · 22/07/2008 21:09

Hi Jet! Hooray for holidays!

It's two days a week i'm doing for the whole of August and then from September i move up to 3 days a week, Weds, Thurs & Fri. It sucks but the money will make a huge difference so i have to just think of that really. Poor little William - hope he's better now. @ your DH not wanting to play on the PS3!! He really MUST be ill!!!

RGPargy · 25/07/2008 09:15

Blimey, it's really quiet on here isn't it!!

Anyone would think you were all off having lives and stuff!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 25/07/2008 13:34

Rg - If it's any consolation,I've spent the last two days cleaning up after the builder.
It's been a bit tricky c'os Dh bought a box of red wine on Monday; never a good idea. So every night this week we've stayed up late and drunk a bit too much - I've been feeling a bit fuzzy.

Ho hum. Hope you have a top weekend XX

RGPargy · 25/07/2008 16:52

Have a good weekend chick

DanJARMouse · 25/07/2008 22:18

Hi guys!!!

Well Daniel is a bugger - confirmed!

He is crawling around, into everything (wires are a fave!) and pulling himself up on anything that doesnt move - including people!!!

He's been really unsettled these past few days, wondering if we might get a tooth at some point soon, off his food etc.

Hope you are all going ok, will have to catch up and see how we are all getting on!

RGPargy · 26/07/2008 10:58

hi Jarm!! nice to see you!

Glad Daniel is keeping you on your toes!

OP posts:
DanJARMouse · 26/07/2008 17:47

hellllooooooo

Daniel is still grumpy today, i dont think he copes with heat very well, he seems at his happiest in his car seat, with the windows down, flying down the dual carriageway!!! Seems to be the only time he will sleep atthe moment.

He is still sleeping 11-12hrs at night, but as decided that 5.30am is THE time to be getting up!

How Ellie doing RGP?

RGPargy · 26/07/2008 18:02

bless him - this heat is a nightmare isn't it. Ellie seems to be sleeping in the same way - car seat with windows down!

Ellie is getting on fabulously thanx Jarm. Not crawling or anywhere near yet and still no teeth but i think we might be on the way to getting one. There's been a couple of waking up in the evenings with some sort of pain so i'm wondering if it's (finally) a tooth coming through. Those Ashton powders or whatever they're called soon sorted her out tho lol.

I'm back to work on Thursday. Booooooo

OP posts:
DanJARMouse · 26/07/2008 18:06

awwww she'll get there soon.... you wont be able to stop her soon!

Becca was my slower baby, didnt crawl until about 10mnths and then walked at 15mnths.

Daniel has been crawling for about a month now, and is starting to cruise round the furniture - very scary!

I hate babies and heat, it just doesnt mix!

RGPargy · 26/07/2008 21:08

Yeah i'm not worried at all. The longer she stays immobile the better coz it's less work for me!! haha!

It looks odd when they go round the furniture so young doesn't it?! DS was 14 months when he finally walked so i'm not used to smaller babies doing that kind of thing so it's just as well Ellie isn't doing it now or it'd freak me out lol.

I hate the heat too. Ellie is managing it very very well considering how hot it's been, bless her.

OP posts:
ChocolateHobnob · 26/07/2008 21:11

Hi ladies! I've missed you!

So much I've missed, can't begin to write to all of you... but just to agree with JARM/RG/LOM: the heat is not great for the los even though I am a sun worshipper myself. R has been grumpy today in the heat.

Febes, how was the move?

Good luck with work RG!

Our news... well we're mainly sorted, house looking good now. Garden furniture all up too so we've been chilling (or rather frying!) in the garden today with a barbecue. R's sleep: well, it had a peak (yes! positive development) - one night where she went from 10 until 3! - but since then more troughs, although we do tend to get at least one two hour sleep slot a night now as opposed to never more than 45 mins. Still hardly ideal but marginally better, though there are very bad troughs where she just will not sleep at all, and the peak was such a peak that I have hope. I have a new health visitor who is nice and doesnt go on about formula or controlled crying, who says we're doing the right thing tending to her but not picking her up, and is generally supportive which makes a change.

Anyway am shattered now, just wanted to touch base and say hi!

RGPargy · 26/07/2008 22:07

Hi choc!! Good to see you!

glad that R's sleeping is marginally better, although i really dont know how you've kept your sanity all this time with so little sleep!! You must have the patience of a saint!

OP posts:
DanJARMouse · 27/07/2008 09:35

hi choc!

Well done for doing as well as you have, unfortunately I need my sleep so you have done way better than I ever could!

(Disclaimer : DD1 was, and still is, a nightmare sleeper so I thank my lucky stars DD2 and DS sleep through!)

RGP - you are right, it looks so wrong for such a small baby to be on his feet - but then again, he isnt all that tiny, big tall lad! 9-12mnth clothes.

So.... any of us november mummies thinking of another baby yet? Scary to think that by the time DD1 was Daniels age, I was pg with DD2! Not sure if we are going to have any more or not - keep swinging from NEVER EVER (remembering the birth of DS) to hmmmm, maybe one day!!!

RGPargy · 27/07/2008 20:22

Jarm - i'm thinking about it for when DD is about 2 years old (i'll be 42 by then so wouldn't want to TTC any older really), but DP has other ideas! He's like "i'm an only child and never wanted a sibling...." I think if all else fails, i'll be sticking pins in the condoms! (joke!!)

OP posts:
Greedygirl · 28/07/2008 15:34

LOL RG, my DH is the same but the other day he said shall we have another one cos Adam was doing something cute and I was tempted to get him to sign a contract!

SparklyGothKat · 28/07/2008 15:38

Hi all, Callum is still doing well, crawling about and he pulled himself up 2 weeks ago, only done it twice but it looks soooo wrong as he has only just gone into 6-9 clothes (and that mainly because of his cloth nappies lol) I have pics on my mobile will download them when I get a chance. He is struggling with this heat though, he is sweaty and lives in a nappy and top atm, even when we go out.

RGPargy · 28/07/2008 17:13

LOL Sarah!!

Sparkly - this heat is a nightmare for babies isn't it. Ellie isn't doing too badly (better than me in fact!) considering the scorching temperatures we've had. I hate the heat, it makes me really irritable so thankfully she doesn't take after me for that! Glad that Callum is progressing well.
