Hi all, Callum is on the go, and his weight gain is slowing down now, but the HV is still happy with him. He now weighes 16lb 12oz. He passed his 8 month check with flying colours, he is doing everything he should be doing.

Anyone's baby trying to pull themselves up yet?? callum can pull himself from sitting to standing when playing with his babygym and is trying to pull himself up from crawling using my tv unit!! He is so small and it looks wrong lol!!

SparklyGothKat · 14/07/2008 00:05

BTW he is 9 1/2 months now, but they delayed his 8 month check..coz he was prem.

RGPargy · 14/07/2008 12:13

Hi everyone!

Just bookmarking because believe it or not, i'd lost this thread off my "threads i'm on" page!

Just goes to show how slack i've been with posting on here lately.....

Hi We hopefully exchange today!!!!! Fingers crossed and then complete next monday or Friday not sure. Need to ring the lawyer after school.
Anabel is an angel by day and a devil by night at the moment. She was awake 3 times last night . I fed her which is probably creating problems for me but when I have work i can't just lie there listening to her crying. She doesn't get too upset just moans but if I leave her it goes on for ever. Have to sort it in the hols!!

RGPargy · 14/07/2008 14:24

Good luck Febes!!! Let's hope you get that all important call to say you've exchanged! I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Hope you sort out the sleeping arrangements too. It's knackering when you have work the next day, although i've not been back to work yet, but i know how knackered i felt when i was up 2/3 times a night going for a wee when i was pg!

Hi everyone!
Just a quick catch up as the DH is feeling neglected!

Glad everything went ok Chocolate and good luck Febes. Night waking is a pain in the ass, Adam has been waking himself up by rolling onto his tum, also teething again at the mo and off his food (but not his milk ). He is going for a morning session with his CM in the morning just to see how he gets on - what shall I do with myself?!

Sparkly - what a star Callum is!

RG - I had nearly forgotten about those sleepness nights when preggers - think I get better sleep now but no lie-ins!

Have a good evening everyone.
x

RGPargy · 14/07/2008 20:48

Sarah - Ellie rolls herself onto her tummy too but then cant get back again and calls for my help! I have to say tho that thankfully it's normally when i put her down for a daytime nap and she's not really that tired, otherwise she's fine. If you've got a child-free morning i would take the time to pamper yourself and do stuff that you cant normally do because AJ will be calling for you. Stuff like having a long soak in the bath, painting your nails, scrubbing the hard skin off your feet and stuff like that lol. Nothing really adventurous i suppose, but i never get the chance to do that really and my feet look like dragon's claws because of it!!

I agree re the sleep. I do sleep better but mostly Ellie wakes anytime between 6 and 8am. I hope i dont have to wake her up when i go back to work in a couple of weeks - that'll just be the icing on the cake of how evil going back to work is!!

RGPargy · 14/07/2008 22:44

Coping - hello and welcome! Is J male or female?!

OP posts:
SparklyGothKat · 14/07/2008 23:54

lol Callum still has no teeth, seems llike he has been teething for months. Dd1 didn't get teeth until she was 13 months old so not worried at all

copingvquietly · 15/07/2008 00:01

j is a little boy

SparklyGothKat · 15/07/2008 00:08

Hi Coping, have seen some of your threads, Hows J now? Is he feeling better?

copingvquietly · 15/07/2008 00:13

hi sparkly.no not really.hes just crying alot since all this.so consequently im not getting much sleep.its not his fault but draining all the same.
but hes just gone to sleep so im going to grab what i can whilst ive got the chance.
thankyou for making me welcome

SparklyGothKat · 15/07/2008 00:19

is he still BF? I hope you get some sleep and so does he.
Callum was premature, but was due in nov. so I hang out with this lot as Callum is developing as your LOs does, but it does mean he is older, so you might see me say he is 9-10 months.

yes i still bf him.i tried to wean him onto bottles a while back but hes had other ideas about the whole process.he obviously knows what he likes lol.

jetgirl · 15/07/2008 11:55

Hi all!

welcome coping! nice to have a new face here!

rg - I lost this from my threads I'm on too, just been busy doing not very exciting things like housework!

febes - fingers crossed for you.

sparkly - wow! William isn't even crawling yet - he just kind of lies of his front grunting!

choc - glad the move went well.

lom - how was work?

greedy - hope Adam enjoyed his time with the cm!

DH earned himself brownie points this weekend by surprising me with a night out. He'd booked my parents in for babysitting and we went out for a meal and to the cinema. Fortunately I'd stocked up the freezer with ebm so William didn't go hungry! William has been experimenting with his teeth on my boob recently. I think he's intrigued by my reaction! I hope he doesn't make a habit of it as I don't want to stop bf just yet but it's flipping painful when he nips me!

Greedygirl · 15/07/2008 13:14

Oooo lots of movement on the old post-natal thread!

Hi CopingQ, welcome! My DS has never taken a bottle either, it a very effective way of tethering your mother to you! Lack of sleep is a killer, hope you managed to catch some zzz while your DS had a nap.

LOM - how did the first day back go?! Yuk, I sympathise and will not be far behind you (1st Sep).

Jet - Adam had a lovely time at the CM, chatting, smiling etc. I am really, really pleased but he could have looked a bit more pleased to see me instead of the "oh it's you" look I got! Adam has also been known to have a quick chomp on the boob but only when a new teeth comes through. Makes you rather nervous at feeding time doesn't it?!

RG - I have been out today and bought a sleeping bag cos the situation is getting worse, Adam thinks bedtime and the middle of the night are great times to practise crawling (or his version of crawling). I am knackered. I don't know if the sleeping bag will curtail his nighttime expeditions but I am at the end of my tether! I fully intended to have some me time when Adam was at the CM but ended up doing some shopping and housework - it was quite a novelty doing it without a child in tow but next time I have some free time I have promised myself I am going for a massage.

x

Febes · 15/07/2008 14:52

Greedy girl- try pining his sleeping bag to the sheet on both sides with a safety pin. Might work. My nephew started moving around in his cot and standing up. Maybe the restriction will just make him scream in the middle of the night.

Its my nephews first birthday today. My sister is having a afternoon tea for family and friends and its my dads birthday as well so double celebrations. I'm sad I can't be there but it is middle of winter in NZ and its roasting hot here today so its not all bad. It won't be long till its our babies birthday!! Can't believe it- Anabel is 8 months next week.

We didn't exchange yesterday after all and I haven't heard from the lawyers today yet so I'm worried its all going to fall through now. In the lap of the gods and I'm not going to worry about it.

My sister in law has booked her flight over here. She will live with us so we will have a live in babysitter which is very exciting. Shes never been on a plane before or out of South Africa so it will be quite an adventure for her.

Anabel slept much better last night thank goodness. I was a zombie yesterday after 3 hours sleep but Anabel slept right through to 5.45am so not too bad we let her sing to herself till 6.15. She is eating so much at the moment and is a happy chappie so a joy and I can't wait for the holidays to start next week.

Hope you are all having lovely days ....

copingvquietly · 16/07/2008 19:49

j started to crawl todayand

RGPargy · 16/07/2008 20:34

I'm dreading DD starting to crawl!! It'll be a nightmare trying to have eyes in the back of my head!

OP posts:
iris66 · 18/07/2008 07:01

Hi all - my best efforts to keep posting got scuppered (I never seem to get beyond reading to catch up!) Good to see everyone keeping well with their LOs, house moves nd going back to work. I've done, well, ....nothing of note
RGPargy - you'll need eyes in your backside too DS has been crawling for a few weeks (likes opening & shutting doors )and is now cruising the furniture! - we followed him climbing the stairs yesterday DS1 didn't do any of this until about 11mths so it's a bit of a shocker. I guess he's just trying to copy DS1 so that's why it's early. I'm having to separate all DS1's toys to stop all the little things ending up in his mouth - PITA as DS1 likes getting everything out at once - many times a day He's also teething very badly at the mo which is affecting his sleep (back to being up 3/4 times a night ). He's got his bottom 2 through & keeps gnashing them against his top gums (which clearly hurts - poor lamb - good job it wont be for long)

Got to go & get everyone up for breakfast. (busy day as we've family coming up for LO's naming day at the weekend Have a good day all x

RGPargy · 18/07/2008 11:02

Hi Iris

sounds like DS is keeping you on your toes!! I remember it from when my own DS was that age too, although i cant remember the exact age he started crawling.

I did wonder whether the bottom teeth would bash against the top gums - it must be really painful coz they're not used to them being there! Poor little mite!

Nothing really to report here, except that DD was exceptionally wiggly in her highchair this morning at breakfast and then suddenly went whooooosh under the tray! I dont have one of those chairs with the rigid crotch guard thing, just one with straps, which i never do up (). If i'd not have been there sitting right in front of her, she'd have shot out and landed on the floor!!! She never normally wriggles that much and she seemed to be very slippy so it might have been the trousers she was wearing. Nevertheless, I'm going to be doing those straps up all the time now!

Have a nice day everyone

Hi all lost this thread agaes ago but managed to find it again!

Coby isn't crawing yet but a very fast roller he manages to get about by swiveling on his tummy then rolling in the direction he wants to go. He keeps trying to get onto his knees so don't think it'll be long untill he crawls. and i'm so not looking forward to that.

The BLW is going well i just feed him breakfast. And he feeds himself at other meals. I have to admit it has been very messy but he is becoming more skilled and can now feed himself little things like blueberries and such like.

Sleeping has been a nightmare until the last few weeks. Because of the co-sleeping he was just snacking at night because he could not beacuse he was hungry. After 2 months of trying we've (I) have actually manged to get him to stay in his own room and cut out all (well nearly all) night feeds, some nights it slips but only in the early hours. He still wakes up wingeing at nights but can self settle in under a minute now! Still exhausted though[hhm]!

Hope your all well.
