March 2007: Babies no longer: the road to Toddlerdom

1000 replies

MrLSG · 01/05/2008 22:50

MrsLSG suggested it, so her it is...

I've observed that calling Toby a baby isn't really accurate anymore, he (as one of the younger March babies - actually being born in April) is now toddlering (or is that staggering?), hence the title of the thread.

Sorry if Dad's aren't allowed around here: But Toby just loved joining in garden football with his big brother and dad earlier tonight.

Thanks The blonde. I hadn't spotted your post last night- that's great that your dd is walking now, even though that usually spells trouble! Her feet are so dinky! Hasan is getting too big for his 4's but all my kids have big feet. Those wellies must be so cute!

Ds2 is obsessed with his (cheapy)swords and light sabers and he arranges them in a star shape on the floor . Of course Hasan is desperate to play with them too. The others were up before ds2 this morning and they took his swords so when he got up he was not happy...saying to his sister 'I want a word with you, you are not allowed to take my star' and she saying 'what star?' and Hasan running around with a light saber in mischievous delight!

kiwibella · 13/10/2008 10:19

hugs Callie and Jordi... lots of things going on and information to digest. It must feel somewhat reassuring to know why Jordi's development has been delayed. Good luck going through your meetings and getting the best help for your family.

blonde... email me your addy and I have a lovely pair of size 3's which dd never wore!!

I've just bought Kate size 8 fluffy winter boots

Silly... I'm sure that your ds will be well taken care of. Hang on to hope for his wallet - maybe he dropped it or left it somewhere silly? It's all a big adventure for him.

LunarSea · 13/10/2008 11:09

I think Toby must have flippers instead of feet. His current shoes are a 6, despite him being just about the youngest on this thread!

SuperSillyus · 13/10/2008 12:50

lol at the widespan of footsizes of our little ones!

Kiwi, I haven't heard from him and I'm trying really hard not to pester him for news and trust his teachers and let him go a little but it's really hard and I'm totally drowning my sorrows in chocolate and looking forward to thursday when he is home to my protective shelter!

I am going to be a right state when my children start leaving home in the future

SuperSillyus · 13/10/2008 13:28

Ds1 found his wallet. I am going to slap him when I see him!

TheBlonde · 13/10/2008 14:41

Great news on the wallet

Kiwi - the boots would be lovely, happy to pay you for them if you will accept paypal

Piffle · 13/10/2008 14:49

Callie what an absolute bombshell to hear.
But please take it easy, it may not be CP and even if it is, getting a diagnosis is a good thing although it feels like 3 sorts of hell at first.

You know all about dd's delays and how well she has done after a dismal forecast at 18mths... Have faith

As for foot size...
Finn is a majestic and shocking 7, his 6 yr old sister is only an 8.5 which means he is currently strutting around in her outgrown lelli kellys and charlie and lola wellies
buggered if I am paying £24 every 3 weeks when his feet grow!!!
Does anyone want a pair of 5.5 clarks doodles for a boy?
Perfect nick...

Well I'm off to Oz friday 6am...
hard to get motivated for bikini waxes when its so cold outside atm...
plus have heavy grotty cold and feel like poo...

so thats where I've been - head up own bum obsessing about leaving my cherubs for 2 weeks...

SuperSillyus · 13/10/2008 16:03

Piffle it is probably going to be harder for you than the children leaving them for 2 weeks, I would be in a tizzy about that too.
I hope you do manage to have a lovely time, you could probably really do with a good break and come back refreshed to your mummying duties.

kiwibella · 13/10/2008 16:36

blonde... it would be a pleasure to move them on from my hallway. I picked them up in woolworths for very little so I am happy to give them to someone who can use them Email me bella at tikitour dot net.

Piffle... I have been thinking about your trip alot lately - mostly wondering if that was where you had gone. Although I know you will miss the kids, the time away will go by quickly and you will be back before you know it.

I bought Kate a couple of pairs of doodles on ebay. They were in great condition but she has thrashed them so glad I only paid a few pound!!

Rosy at your boy. I'm glad that his wallet turned up.

catweazle · 14/10/2008 17:08

Hi all

can anyone help with my biting problem?

Callieco · 14/10/2008 22:25

Hi again,

Thanks for your messages. I'm much calmer now, particularly as Jordi has been brilliant with things the past few days, and also because for the first time ever I booked myself in for a spa day with a friend on Monday while he was in creche. (I'm off work this week). I just really, really needed to unwind and it was worth every penny. We had a morning splashing about in hot tubs and hydrotherapy pools and a normal swimming pool, then lunch in our robes - how relaxing! - then 90 minutes of back and shoulder massage, a facial and head massage. Truly bliss. I will definitely be doing that again.

SSU - doh to DS1! It's a learning experience hopefully ....

Aw TheBlonde, how cute is that - size 2 feet? Jordi is 6G or at least he was a few weeks ago. He's probably grown a size since then.

By the way, I took a look back at the thread from when Jordi was born, so Jan 07. My god, did we do a lot of posting! I feel like we should try and organise a "get-together" in a chat room one evening and try and get hold of everyone who was posting then just to have a catch up.

SuperSillyus · 15/10/2008 07:18

Callie that spa day sounds heavenly and I would love to do that sort of thing one day. Really glad you did it and felt the good of it.

I do miss all the chat we used to have here but getting everyone together again would be like herding water we are all at a different stage now I suppose.

There was me thinking Hasans size 4/5 feet were big but I guess not!

He is so funny these days and he and ds2 have become inseparable. They are always in a heap together and they sleep in a kingsize bed together (and I join them in the night-sigh) but they cuddle together in the huge bed, in fact the other night Hasan was totally using ds2's tummy as a pillow

sillybigsausage · 17/10/2008 21:33

Callie - you really needed that Spa!! Sounds heavenly

Hope Piff is on her way

DS2s feet are a size 5 - its DD who has the huge wallopers!

Am sooooo busy at work and DH being a complete pig at the weekends

Just found out a little girl we know, aged 5, has a brain tumour

SuperSillyus · 18/10/2008 07:36

Aw sillysausage poor little girl I hope she can be treated?

My dd's feet are much bigger than all her friends feet. And ds1 has big hairy hobbit size 11 feet I looked at his legs and feet one day and thought eek! Manlegs!
He had a fantastic time in Paris, came back totally hyper and wearing a hat.

Yeah Piffle is probably feeling the wrench at the moment but I hope she has a good break.

I did a mumsnet survey and just found an email saying I had won a luxury hamper and 6 months supply of Kenco coffee I've been going around singing Carrie and David's 'I'm a winner' hee hee

SuperSillyus · 18/10/2008 07:39

Sausage go on strike and take a rest at the weekend, don't wear yourself out!

catweazle · 18/10/2008 10:55

Well done rosy (I never win anything )

catweazle · 20/10/2008 18:41

Where is everybody again?

?

SuperSillyus · 21/10/2008 10:42

I'm here, having a cup of tea with skimmed milk and 2/3 of a packet of chocolate fingers

Hasan is a bit unwell with a snotty nose.

I'm wondering when my hamper will arrive and what'll be in it!

Not a peep from Kitty for quite a while....

spongecake · 21/10/2008 12:48

kittywise · 21/10/2008 21:51

Helloooooo, sorry all. Life's been a bit topsy turvy frantic , filled with crappo au pairs, so don't get much time!

hope you are all fine, I've not read posts.

Ronnie now happier as I've cut down his bf to 3-4 xdaily.

I so want another but dp says we need more money

Catch up properly soon xxxxxx

sillybigsausage · 23/10/2008 18:19

Kitty

you want another DP

...or another Au Pair

...or another baby???

Super is Hasan still feeding constantly?

DS2 has cut down a lot in the last couple of weeks Just feeds once a night now. If he wakes up more I just growl "go back to sleep" and he does!!!

kittywise · 23/10/2008 22:24

Rosy, I want it all, I am well greedy!!!

Seriously though Ron is so much happier now and chatters away!
He still only has 6 teeth!

SuperSillyus · 24/10/2008 07:48

Sillysausage yep he is still a guzzler, I'm still trying to get him to go to sleep without sucking which is starting to work I think.

Kitty you mad lady!

It's half term here starting today, woohoo, everyone's off for a week.

sillybigsausage · 24/10/2008 15:47

Super - DS2 has cut right down now so I am going to try and wean him off me and onto cows milk I think - strike while the iron is hot and before he changes his mind again

SuperSillyus · 24/10/2008 16:01

Sillysausage I'll be interested to hear how that goes for future reference!

I feel as if I'll never get him off the breast at the moment.
