MrsLSG suggested it, so her it is...

I've observed that calling Toby a baby isn't really accurate anymore, he (as one of the younger March babies - actually being born in April) is now toddlering (or is that staggering?), hence the title of the thread.

Sorry if Dad's aren't allowed around here: But Toby just loved joining in garden football with his big brother and dad earlier tonight.

Just as we were having our usually pyjama debacle Ronnie was dancing naked on the bed and I noticed he had done a wee on the floor.
I commented on this to the room of naked dancing children (they often have a dance before bed to my songs on i tunes).
Ronnie bends over the side of the bed , looks intently at the wee and says "ohh".
I was amazed that he understood what I was saying as I didn't point, just said "oh Ronnie's done a wee on the floor"

I got forms from the school yesterday for ds1 to apply for sec school next year. I tell you someone has stolen 10 years from me. How can this be that my baby is going to secondary school???????
I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO not ready for this

shanks thank goodness your Mum has been able to help. I hope you get to the bottom of it. I was getting alot of migraines for a while and I know how awful it is then trying to cope.

Morroco hi ! Are you still going strong with the breastfeeding? I am but in a very unenthusiastic disgruntled 'sick of this now' sort of way.

Kitty what a lovely picture My lot love to dance before bedtime too.

Hasan is getting his mmr today And I am exhausted with our sleep problems. I hope it is just a short term problem! I've been looking at the Dr Jay Gordon site for some inspiration.

that Dr Jay is a funny guy Rosy?!?! I was a bit put off when he went on about takeaways... there is no more of this - it's ok occassionally? I learnt lots of info about diet though... probably stuff you experienced mummies know (like if they are hungry, feed them!!).

It was lovely to have an update from Shanks and Morocco - thanks. You seem to have a daredevil with Emily Shanks... I am glad that you have had your mum around to help you. I hope that you are feeling much better and able to enjoy your girls.

Kitty - I have an image of Julie Andrews and the Sound of Music going on in your bedroom!!!! It must be absolutely delightful

Kate is starting to realise when she needs to wee and she asks for a nappy if she isn't wearing one. I have been leaving it off more and more and encouraging her to use the toilet. She is so funny - will sit up there for a minute and then spend the next forever wiping her bum with piece after piece of toilet paper. Yesterday I called hubs in to see her on the loo and she shouted 'no' and pushed the door shut.

I've been setting an alarm to get up in the morning instead of getting Kate up when she wakes. It seems to be helping get her back in to a routine... so we just need to work on the night times.

Wow kiwi, how grown up is Kate? That's amazing! dd3 is still firmly attached to her nappies.
I have a fear that she will just migrate from nappies to old lady incontinence pants and skip toilet training altogether.

Glad that you feel you are getting on top of her sleep routine though

aw, Kate sounds gorgeous. v cute. em brings us her fave nappies to put on (flower power type ones, such a girlie girl) but she's nowhere near potty training (I hope, as am ordering some new pocket nappies!)

yep, still bf, get told when it's time to change sides now - a push and a 'no'. if i don't move in time, she bites [ouch]

how was hasan with his mmr?

Chubs loves his willy but for all the wrong reasons

Super I am at exactly the same place as you re BF

I decided on Monday that due to recent sleepless night, I will give up pronto

...then spent all of Tuesday feeling very drepressed about the prospect of no more BF

Hope your headaches get dealt to shanks.

Finn says willy do wee wee bum do poo poo at appropriate times. He is obsessed with toiletting poor dd craves a tad of privacy but now Finn can open the doors... And flush the loo AND turn on taps...
His words are flowing everyday. Today he copied
"good guy" "pontipine"

Dp had vasectomy yesterday. All fine needed 4x usual
amount anaesthetic so dining out on that somewhat
Aside from that a minor sniffle running through the house.
Right will come back read more and contribute more asap

Mmr went okay so far.

Hasan isn't saying much that I can recognise yet. His character is really developing though and he is great fun.

I have put him in to a room with ds2 and I go in and settle him and then leave-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0 oops cat on keyboard

I'm hoping things will gradually improve at nights in the near future. I suppose one day he will sleep through...

I don't think my girl is clever... I think she is showing how lazy she will be. She knows that she needs a nappy on to wee !!!

Ouch Piffle... so it's all official - no more babies for you. Hope your dh enjoys lots of sympathy and tlc.

Yay Rosy... I hope that Hasan sleeping in his own room will mean some sleep for you. It must feel strange after all this time.

Hugs sillysausage... it's so hard to make decisions while you are so tired! I would love to give up bf too... the cutting back isn't working and distraction only goes so far. I'm in awe of you managing your job as well.

Kiwi - I wouldn't say "managing" - more surviving

Rosy - glad MMR went OK. Chubs had the Sep Vax and didn't even make a squeak!!

IKWYM about being too tired to make a decision - I keep thinking I should start introducing cows milk, for some feeds at least, but feel too tired to make such a "big" decision LOL!! I think its harder as Chubs will be my last baby, so giving up BF means giving it up FORVEVER

I can't imagine my life without it... LOL

It's lovely watching their emerging personalities at this age.

Get Finn and "pontipine". I was thrilled when DD said "bubba" this week, and we don't even say that!!! Nursery said they don't either, but they'd had a new little girl start that day who did...

We've had a few poo on the floor incidents in the last few weeks. Cue hysterics from the guilty party.

We're still BF and co-sleeping. Would kill for some sleep but not in any hurry to give up- last one here too.

What does everyone else do with outgrown baby clothes? I don't want to give them away- don't know anyone locally having a baby- but don't buy "designer" so it isn't worth trying to sell them. We've got stacks now..

catweazle - you could try a local NCT sale perhaps. I have given some stuff away and kept some (hoping to have another but just mc and ttc is now off until 2009)

The Blonde sorry to hear you mc that is hard.
They really do all do things in their own time don't they. My ds1 was a late walker, then dd walked at 10 months which seems mad really, they are still such babies then.

My other three were all early with the talking but not Hasan -though he does talk loads of nonsense in a little irish accent .

Piffle Finn is doing great with all those words, I do love that stage when they start surprising you every day with more to say.

Catweazle you could sell bundles on ebay? I'm trying to muster up the energy to sell some stuff on there. Although all my baby clothes are already third hand and too scruffy to do much with.

The one ofmine that was allowed to find their own route is happier inside than the incredibly gifted older one who is in constant turmoil with every aspect of his life. Always ready for so much so early.
If they are lessons to be learned
The worlds a better place when kids take their time.

Piffle I agree - my oldest, the "bright" one is in constant turmoil and driven. He is very sensitive and can't relax

DD is "average" and has all the social skills - methinks she will have a tres happ life as she just understands how to be happy

Super- can I send all mine over to you so they can come home with lovely Irish accents?

Had a scan at 9.5 weeks where they said it was a missed miscarriage
Waited to MC then it all went a bit wrong so ended up in hospital, finally had D&C at 11 weeks
