I bet you were ready to do it yourself weren't you - new baby and all!

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 13:56

We've been dejunking over the last couple of weekends - need to step up a gear now I think!

Sexonlegs · 22/04/2008 14:08

Just popping in quickly as at work, and actually really busy today unlike yesterday.

Hope you are all well.

Luce, pmsl at treating yourself to rollerblades. Just made me laugh. Thought you were going to say something like a manicure/pair of expensive shoes!

Better go. Back later. x

cute pic luce

nl, you make me laugh can't remember how much our removal men/van cost but i know it wasn't enough, apparently our 2 bed house had the contents of a 3 bed house we were storing all dd's baby gear so not that bad

i've just realised why i don't like work so much since i came back. I feel like the junior again. The person running our dept i sort of trained up and now she's saying things like 'you're the only one here i trust to do x, y or z' my response was that she should trust me since i showed her how to do it in the first place i really don't feel i have a 'place' here atm but it's such a good job, they're really flexible with my hours and things that i think i'd find it hard to find as good a job. plus my pay is pretty good etc

mamiguay · 22/04/2008 15:07

Oh they're lovely Luce - I've been debating between the Betty Crocker chocolate ready made icing I've got or making coloured normal icing. Don't know what to do about setting it out though - I've got nothing like that stand - check you out the total pro

have added a couple of photos of N to my profile, him helping me destroy tidy the kitchen the other day and now must dash again.. hopefully pop in tomorrow x

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 15:58

Eddas - what you are experiencing is exactly my fear. I totally tained the person who will be my line manager and I know I can do a better job than him (even in my ml addled state of mind) Oh dear - it's hard isn't it? They have been good about your hours etc haven't they - that sort of flexibility is hard to find. Of course - an employee like you is hard to find as well

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 15:58

A**e that should be 'totally trained'

Eddas · 22/04/2008 16:12

sorry nl didn't mean to make you worry anymore than you already are. I just couldn't work out what it was that was bothering me but it 'those' comments. It's changed a lot staff wise since i went on ml and i know it's had to. I still need a place IYSWIM, i think they're trying to do this but as i'm only part time that makes it even harder.

But yes i would struggle to find something as flexible as this and they've been really good to me apart from a few things around xmas(vouchers and pay date changes) so i shouldn't complain. i just wish people would think before saying supid things. ho hum.

thanks for saying an employee like me is hard to find cheque's in the post

AngeG · 22/04/2008 16:15

What a domestic goddess you are Luce, the cupcakes are fantastic!

Maveta - Love the pics of N. He sooo cute!

Eddas/NL - Sorry you're having worries about work, it's so difficult. I had something very similar when I went on ML the first time. I stayed for a couple of months and then left to work for DH though so different situation.

Ok ladies I need some advice/information from you all. Izzy is being a little madam with food again and the HV is coming to weigh her on Thursday. I'm really worried she won't have put much weight on again.
Can you all give me a typical day of how much your lo eats and when including milk please?
I need some reassurance that I am feeding her and want to steal some of your ideas .

I'm trying so hard not to stress about it, but can feel my heart beating faster and the stress building every time I think of it. I'm sure Izzy is picking up on it and that's why she's not eating as well

Sorry for the moan.

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 16:17

Excellent - a cheque

YOu haven't made me worry more - actually reassured me oddly enough - that's it not just me that this sort of thing happens to and therefore that it's not down to me being a bit useless. I think I will feel better when I actually get into work - unless he really rubs my nose in it. I'm looking for something else anyway - that sort of keeps me going and I hope to find something for three days or less which would be better all round.

NorthernLurker · 22/04/2008 16:31

X posted Ange

This is B's food day - hope it is of interest. I'm sure Izzy is fine. Just tell the hv that's she's picky and you are offering a selection and that is the end of the discussion!

B has b/feed first thing (and one at night if she wakes - but she hasn't for the last few days - hurrah)
Breakfast - porridge made with whole milk and fruit puree - a baby size bowl full.

Lunch - Either a selection of sandwich, pitta or toast/crumpet, cheese on toast, bit of fruit and/or raisins, rice cakes, Cheerios and a yoghurt or other pudding OR a hot dinner and dessert or fruit. In terms of amount of individual things - she eats most of a sandwich made from a round of bread, a whole small apple (sliced), one or two petit filou fromage frais, a handful of cheerios, two rice cakes, 1 rusk - that sort of amount. Today she ate about 2 thirds of a banana.

Tea - hot dinner of some sort - from a jar or the freezer and a bowl of rice pudding or porridge with fruit. If she had a big hot lunch then I might do toast type things at teatime instead. She usually has a full 7 mth jar and if fresh food - two or three ice cubes of food plus a good handful of couscous or pasta. I tried her with a jacket potato last week (quite a small one!) She ate about 2/3rds maybe?

Breastfeed at bedtime and in the night if necessary

Through the day she will have odd rice cakes, biscuits, bits of fruit etc depending on where we are and what we're doing.

Please note by the way - when I say handful - I have very small hands.

AngeG · 22/04/2008 16:45

Thanks NL

A typical day for us is pretty similar, so I am feeding her enough . Another of my problems atm is spoon feeding, she will only let me feed her readybrek and yoghurts if I'm lucky! Hot dinner is a bit of a battle to get into her.
I will keep perservering

geordieminx · 22/04/2008 16:52

Carry on having a lovely time GMM! I am pleased to tell you btw that it's even quite warm here

Glad that was of use Ange B is still ok with a spoon tbh - in fact I've offered her one of her own and she displayed a resounding lack of interest!
