Hey Annie - Dom is v clingy atm, has to be 'mummmeeee' all the time, daddy jsut doesn't cut it, lots of cries of 'carry' too. And I really don't feel like hefting 30+lb of toddler around at nearly 4 months pg. He has beeen refusing to get in the bath unless I get in too, then I have to bf all his bath toys

Otherwise he is obviously adorable and the light of my life

HumphreysCorner · 06/07/2008 19:37

Er, why aren't you all watching the adonis like Rafa tennis?

PixelHerder · 06/07/2008 19:43

Tennis - are you kidding?! My tv has been taken over by aliens a mini-despot who insists on a remorseless diet of Peppa Pig, Pingu, Teletubbies and Thomas the Tank Engine - or we Suffer The Consequences. And yes, I know it's all my own fault...

PixelHerder · 06/07/2008 19:46

tho' she really IS just off to bed now (we're still keeping her on the late sleep shift

ceebee74 · 06/07/2008 20:11

HC - I am I am - Josh has got to stay up an hour later tonight as neither me or DH wanted to miss any tennis to take him to bed - he got whisked in and out of the bath as soon as Federer won the fourth set aswell!! Funnily enough, he seemed to know that he was up when he shouldn't have been as he was playing quietly with all his toys whereas normally he would be hassling me or DH to read him books etc - I know children do this but at 2??

Pixel - lol at your daily TV diet - Josh has tantrums if the programme he wants to watch isn't on - as if I can control Playhouse Disney's schedule!! Mickey Mouse is definitely his favourite at the moment.

Annie - glad you are ok. I am guessing they are at the age now where they are that frustrating mix between being adorable and being naughty (she says, as if I have ever experienced this before )

Rhinestone - Josh is also going through a 'mummy carry it/me/cuddle' stage which is just about ok now but I feel it may be too much in a couple of months.

Come on Rafa!!!

x

thefortbuilder · 06/07/2008 21:24

boo hiss the flick household is definitely a federer one

jacob also being very "cuddle me" at the moment as well

giorgia our au pair has arrived and settling in - she is lovely so hopefully it all works out ok. HC she will mainly be helping me with Jacob and as we don't want to take the p* she would only really be responsible for household chores like making sure jacob's room is clean, his bed changed etc, and then things like emptying the dishwasher etc - normal things you would do.

jacob was showing off well once she'd arrived and has already learnt her name and can say bongiorno (sp) on request!

Hello ladies.

Been tres busy myself god knows doing what, but have managed to keep up.

Had a very nice awards lunch at the Lanesborough last Tuesday, lots of champagne etc. Got presented with an a2 size framed certificate for doing a certification presentation thingy a few months ago, managed to cart it along the Piccadilly line, along the Northern line, got on the train and promptly fell asleep and walzted off at my stop leaving the damn thing on the train! Can't imagine anyone else wants a giant orange rectangle with my name on it so am hoping to get it back eventually. What a donut.

Annie, Toby sounds just like Mimi at the moment. DH came down on him like a ton of spuds on Saturday, and I have to say that I have been totally spoiling him, compared to how I used to discipline H at the same age. If T doesn't want to come to the table and eat his meals, I don't push it. I distract/cajole/persuade him to do something whereas with H it was do this or go to the naughty corner. So DH put him in the naughty spot 3 times Satruday morning, because he flatly refused to come to the table and eat his brekkie. Cue huge screaming, and tears, it was really hard to listen to it, my poor baby! But I have to say it worked a treat, and since then I am deploying the same tactic to get him to behave.

He and Harry argue ALL the time. I am sure it is the start of the rest of their lives doing it. In the car is the worst:

H - Mummy I want a big cuddle when we get home please
T - no ME cuddle Mummy
H - No me!
t - No me!

goes on for ages until I either scream at them to quit it or turn the radio up as loud as I can. The argue about everything and everything, although I do have to say Toby is the worst....

Took H to a birthday party on Sat avo. Doctor Who theme, they had MADE A TARDIS in the back garden, rigged up an ipod to play the Dr Who music, it was fantastic! And the Darlic cake! Well I was very impressed and completely daunted.

At home today - really can't get motivated. Have cleaned my house, watched an episode of Medium, sorted two loads of washing, and am contemplating doing the ironing. Work is so quiet, but I need to create some activity but it's hard to know where to start to be honest!

Oh and really exciting news - have booked two weeks all inclusive at Holiday Village Red Sea in Egypt for November. I am SO EXCITED> Cannot bloody wait. And taking the MIL so that should be a help.

Right. Ironing or work, ironing or work...

Bloss

TheGoddessBlossom · 07/07/2008 19:14

what did he do with his latest ones Flick? We are rapidly racing towards pair number 3, number 2s are looking decidely worse for wear...

How lovely living in au pair land. What's the temperarture like there? Do you get photos of the girls before hand to make sure they are complete dogs?

thefortbuilder · 07/07/2008 21:19

well we were in france and he had them on when he left shop i was in and josh managed to lose them by the time they got to the car (5 min stroll away)....

au pair land is warm and rosy at the moment! giorgia is quite tired today as she has actually spent most of the day with us settling in etc - she is very sweet and taken with jacob so i will actually have to be quite strict about making her do her own thing and not spending her own time with him! sounds crazy i know but don't want to take the p* or seem like i am.

can't believe my little man is 2 next monday! we have last monkey music class of the year on monday so will be singing happy birthday! and he moves up a class next september so that will be fun!

ImpyChica · 07/07/2008 22:10

Thx for belated b-day wishes Wallace! How the heck are you? x

Hi everyone else. Wasn't Rafa amazing?! Roger was fantastic too - great game. And they were both so adorable at the end, complimenting each other - it should have been a draw!

Just wanted to post pix from Ryan's birthday extravaganza...

Have good evening everyone.

PixelHerder · 08/07/2008 22:23

Hi Ladies

Impy - what a lovely set of birthday pics, loved the vid (made me a bit teary)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Charlotte for tomorrow!! Have a lovely day at the safari park

Absolutely knackered at the mo, have had Emma at home (amongst the boxes) pretty much solidly for 3 weeks now. Just can't get on and do anything without a constant stream of requests for TV programmes, food, drink, games, dummy, books etc etc - well you all know don't you Sadly no demands for lie-downs either. MIL has been ill so not able to have her, but she's on the mend now so hopefully she'll be able to help out a couple of afternoons a week which will be great.

She's picking up lots of words, some of them are even comprehensible . She had me foxed though with demands for 'wawwee' over the last couple of days, and got very irritated when I couldn't make it out. I knew it would either be a tv programme or some type of food - turned out to be 'strawberries'.

No potty training yet - still not bought a potty, oops. Measured her today, she's 84cm.

Well better get off to bed, have good nights all xxx

ceebee74 · 09/07/2008 08:38

Happy Birthday to Charlotte and Spin

Impy - gorgeous photos - Ry looks so much older than Josh does. Yah and go Rafa! He is now officially my favourite tennis player

Hi to everyone else - only 2 sleeps to go now until scan-day and we can find out (hopefully) the flavour (and then I promise I will stop boring you all about my pg!!)

x

PixelHerder · 09/07/2008 09:50

Hi - just a quickie to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Spin, hope the Lagavulin's doing the job

Beadmum and Spin - I haven't made a cake since school I don't think, so can sympathise! Might have a go this time - I did buy a cake tin about 6 months ago with the intention of becoming a domestic goddess now I'm not working - it's still unused of course

Impy - ah I wondered if that's what tio and tia meant - so that's what Tia Maria means!

Bloss - Emma has huge dramatic teary meltdowns now if you so much as look at her the wrong way, or mutter the word 'no' to something she wants - it's painful isn't it?! I have always told her off quite firmly for touching things she shouldn't etc and on the whole she's very good about that sort of thing but we're having to be quite judicious about which fight to pick now as the tears can go on, and on, and on... so distraction gets used quite a lot instead.

Well better get on - fingers crossed for an improvement in this frigging weather sometime before summer is out...
