YLLP - Can't do next week - I've got the mynediad exam on Thursday, so I'll be madly revising every chance I can get ...

Following week, maybe ... I can do any day except Monday.

Mine · 14/04/2008 22:14

Woooozle100 · 14/04/2008 23:13

hello

Eeek think this is the first time I've posted on post natal thread. Can't believe its gone 6 months already. Don't really spend much time on internet. Finding it pretty manic with my dd and j. dd (has sn - nearly 3 yo)is looking like she's ready to crawl - she's on all fours and rocking her bum. Reckon they'll prolly get going around the same time!

Good to catch up with the posts - I do recognise most of names even though i was a real cack poster on the an threads!

Joel...

Age: 6 months, 1 week
Height: not sure but he's quite long - trouser legs always seem too short. Nearly as big as sis (she's tiny)
Weight: 17lb 2oz last week - on 50 line
(was born on this but went down to 0.4 line)Sitting: will sit on his tod for fairly long periods.
Rolling: yay
Crawling: floor swimming but not going anywhere!
Standing: loves being on his feet
Teeth: nay
Talking: yyeeeeeoooooeeww Said his first word - gruyere!
Sleeping: occasionally! And only if he's in the far too small now phil and teds cocoon
Fave Food: rabid for anything other than cauliflower - think the orangey sweet potato and porridge concoction went down well (not together)
Fave Toy: that leapfrog activity station thing. Or some paper. Or hair
Meals per day: 3, loads of bf and 1 bottle formula in the evening

Dalrymps · 14/04/2008 23:33

newmama0 - open to all of course! Welcome, wow 2 newbies in one day how exciting. You can do a lo update if you like, were all doing one, should help you to get to know us all

FloriaTosca · 14/04/2008 23:47

Mine; I heard about water (we feed it from a doidy cup with every meal)and orange juice too, but grapes and pears seem to have a laxative effect on Alex and prunes of course are a traditional cure ...I would suggest reducing amounts of cheese and bananas as they seem to cause constipation ...but as others have suggested call your GP or HV to see if he can have anything like syrup of figs or lactulose to help him..poor mite

EJB; fab to hear from you again and great to see Joel is doing so well.LOL at fave toys including hair...I dont think I'll have much left at the rate Alex pulls mine out. I understand you must have your hands full...crikey I only have one and can't keep on top of the housework,... but they are little for such a short time, best enjoy them while we can, eh?

Crotchetdiva; good luck with your exams, I'll have my fingers crossed for you.

Standing: No
Teeth: none.
Talking: Babbles a lot.

Fave Toy: He seems to like everything at the moment.

muppetgirl · 15/04/2008 09:31

Just thought I'd share....

Kiwi has done the trick in softening Henry's poo. He hasn't been constipated but it has gone really hard and he had Kiwi last night and it's a lot softer. The black pips come through as they went in though!

muppetgirl · 15/04/2008 09:33

Oh and the other thing I'm going to do that I did with Ollie is to offer him water at each solid feed time. This encourages them to link drinking water with eating soilds. I use a coloured tipp cup so he then assciates that with a different liquid.

newmama0 · 15/04/2008 11:26

just thought i do a quick hello!

just got back from doctors just had implant fitted (ouch)

bit sad today because im stopping bf, but really cant cope with biting (7 teeth like tiny razor blades!!!!!!!!!! )

off to pick ds1 up from nursery then having a playdate at park because its suuny here too

and muppetgirl wanna do my weeds?
because i hate the things
normally tell ds1 they are flowers so he picks them fo me

does mean i have to put them in the jug on the side though (so maybe not so smart)

Dalrymps · 15/04/2008 11:40

ouch on the teeth front newmama0, don't blame you for stopping... think you would feel sad giving up bf for whatever reason, I know I did - was mix feeding but Dylan refused bf more and more until he stopped altogether. Now the Dylan is of weaning age I feel like I have more control over what he eats and there is a lot more choice than bf and ff so I can contribute to his health and nutrition in lots of other ways eg giving him mostly fresh, home made food, so that makes me feel a bit happier

nellieloula · 15/04/2008 13:49

quick hello to everyone - and now of course DS is up from his nap. what perfect timing. hope you're all well - will be back later!

alicet · 15/04/2008 15:11

Long time no see ejb!!

Hello and welcome newmama!

No biscuits / doughnuts from me though as I've scoffed them all

ejt good luck on Thurs...

um - hello everyone else!!!

Well ds1 has finally stopped sleeping in the day. Gutted. However he was taking longer and longer to settle in the evening so thought it was probably a bit harsh to make him sleep during the day when it was clearly only for me! Adam is scoffing for England - here's hoing he's going to start sleeping better although no signs yet! Off to do the update thingy now - hello to everyone else!!!

I was also dubious about using them and i guess also a bit in awe as to why when i didn't have things like that with ds1 lol. oh the joys of having had a baby almost 10 yrs ago well 10 yrs in july. back then i had nothing like that just common sense, and extra caution. But ds1 is almost 10 and didn't come to any harm without these new fandangled ideas so i am not sure i will be forking out on them lol.

muppetgirl · 15/04/2008 18:09

Hi all

Just got back from the party at the farm. Was very good! We had a ride on a tractor trailer which went round a few fields where the children had to look out for the Easter bunny (man dressed in a rabbit costume) they shouted when they saw him and then he ran and the tractor followed. The kids loved this but then he disappeared and was then seen quad biking accross a field!!! We were then in hot pursute when the easter bunny's quad bike 'broke' so the children all got out the trailer and chased him round the field -very funny, a man in a bunny costume carrying a wicker basket with ribbons whilst 30 children ran after him. They literally rugby tackled him and then he handed out the lolly's. They then fed the animals -Ollie thought this was fab, played on the hay bales and then had a picnic tea.
Henry was a little unsettled but hey, there you go.

I never got round to my weeding as a friend came round with her daughter, oh well tomorrow is another day and those weeds really aren't going anywhere!

Hen tried carrot today and thought it was fab. Am going to try broccoli (sp?) tomorrow so that should be a fun nappy
