Well?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sputnik · 20/03/2008 11:09

Fine, apart from the fact that my DC's seem to think 6 am is a great time to wake up. Can't wait for the clocks to go forward.
Plus it's raining, again.

EasterBunnylicious · 20/03/2008 11:10

Hello all.

sputnik, just checked out that site site then had to close it! Naughty you for trying to get us in on it too!

Foxy, any news about the weekend?

lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 11:43

surveying/structural engineering. me being the latter.

gosh I hope no-one from my office is a secret MNer....

lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 11:54

sputnik, that site is great. We are going to buy some stuff tomorrow I think. It'll keep DS occupied for a few hours anyway

how mad am I? I have been watching Homes Under the Hammer and crying my eyes out .....farking hormones!

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/03/2008 11:56

Hello everyone

Sputnik, that site is great. Am definitely going to order some summer stuff for DD. It says that if I am recommended by a friend, I get a 10% discount and you get that money off your next order too - can you recommend me?

Sputnik · 20/03/2008 13:03

That's a great idea Fairy. I'm going set myself up an account, then I'll recommend you, then you can recommend Daisy and she can recommend Bumper
Send me your details to sputnikinspace at gmail.com

I'm havinga really dozy sort of day. I hate the way grey drizzly days sap all my enthusiasm.

I have just been up to school to look after the reception class over lunch. They are very sweet and very polite, but I find the ones who can wipe up their own snot and swear in your face so much easier to deal with.

Baggins wouldn't eat the lovely roast veg I left for him but has apparently eaten a large portion of DHs stinky kipper.

DH has just gone off for his meeting with the jobcentre - fingers crossed. I'd better find something to occupy myself.

Sputnik · 20/03/2008 13:33

Just celebrating a small victory here, as I convinced DD to eat something she'd never tried before for lunch, nothing special just a risotto, but I'm a bit fed up with making different stuff for both DCs. She eats a wide range of stuff, but just has trouble with cooked things with more than 1 or 2 ingredients IYSWIM. Anyway, after a bit of a struggle to get her to try it she seemed to actually like it and ate most (wasn't actually going to admit as much though!).

lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 13:41

woohoo for victory Sputnik

I felt an amzing sense of achievement last week whe DS unwillingly ate several bits of mushroom. He usually picks them out, but this meal only picked out two bits and I know there were more than that in his portion of spag bol!

great idea on the website. I've set an account up already, e-mail me (I think you've all got my addy) if you want to be recommended

spoke to my CMW. She has set me up with an "early weeks" appointment (in three weks time when I'll be 10 weeks ), at which she will sort out another appointment for booking in and fill out the form to go to the US department. So, I won't get booked in until at least 12 weeks (she is always booked up at least 2 weeks in advance) and a dating scan until at least 14 weeks (it takes at least a month for for scan dates to come through here). So much for getting in there early...fecking feckers

Sputnik · 20/03/2008 14:01

Was about to email you Daisy but then I realised I've already set up an account so presumably you're too late to recommend me, bum.

Know what you mean about the scan, if I'd done my 12 week scan on the health service here last time I'd've been about 18 weeks, despite trying to book it early (the same thing happened with first pg). Luckily a private one is only about 40 quid here.

foxythesnowman · 20/03/2008 14:37

That's crap Daisy!

I used to work for Edward Symons & Ptners. They have a Leeds office, which I had to visit sometimes. Do you know them?

Just went out for lunch, lovely Easter Egg hunt for the littlies. Really nice.

Bumper Deffo on for the weekend. How does 11am suit you? Did a significant amount of damage to the credit card on Monday after a row with DP (that'll learn him!), so its a cheap make over for me! (Bumper is going to take me shopping ).

lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 14:58

oooh, am of all you lot meeting up occasionally.

Don't know them foxy, but I've not been around on the Leeds scene for a while.

norty, you asked about pay earlier. I will be on SSP, as that is the company policy; no sick pay. and I assume when I go on ML again it'll be the basic SMP all the way as it's either 90% of your average salary in the last 8 weeks or basic for the first six weeks whichever is greater. But it's £112 a week for another year and a bit so not to be sneezed at.

DD is cruising

foxythesnowman · 20/03/2008 15:01

Got a playpen Daisy?! If not, you'd better get onto it!

LittleMissNorty · 20/03/2008 15:20

Afternoon all...blimey £112 per week....mortgage wouldn't get paid here! We're very lucky in the NHS, 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half pay + SMP and then SMP....they'll add it all up and divide it by the number of months you're off so you get x equal amounts. Plus I done my 10 KIT days and we get 33 days A/L....and we get 6 months full pay and 6 months half if we're off sick....NHS pay might be shit but it has its benefits.

Who needs toys...DD is sitting quite happily in the middle of the room with the house/car keys...

Why is it only my child that has a dummy - am I that impatient? "Oh my child doesn't have a dummy" is what I've heard most of today.......perhaps I should take it away....but she'd be inconsolable at bedtime (and so would I)

Shit, she was due a bottle an hour ago ....

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/03/2008 15:25

Both my DCs have dummies Norty. DD only has it to sleep now and I try and take DS's away as much as possible during the day but he still has it a fair bit. I don't know how I'd cope without them either as they both get so much comfort from them.

EasterBunnylicious · 20/03/2008 15:40

Dummy here too norty. it bothers me though, but i'm not really sure why She feeds to sleep and it is literally a case of slide the nipple out her mouth and the dummy in Not many of my mummy friend use them. dd loves it!

foxy that's brill! 11 is fine. meet outside john lewis on the ground floor? are you slinging it or push chairing? i'm theoretically on no spending but i had to send my shoes back that i got for christmas. i'm thinking of getting these to replace them, but i might see if i can find something at cribbs.

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/03/2008 15:42

of shopping Bumper and Foxy. Have a great time

lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 16:08

norty, it's only the sale of DHs old batchelor pad that is paying the mortgage for the next year or so. I'll need to go back to work eventually, but with two babies in full time childcare plus wrap around care for DS our childcare bill will be around £16K a year

foxythesnowman · 20/03/2008 16:14

Those shoes are outrageous. I love them!

Let's stick to shoe shopping then! I might be child-free, but if not I'll just have LO in the buggy.

lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 16:16

lol bumper; my taste in shoes is definately a LOT tamer then yours.

TALLULAHBELLE · 20/03/2008 16:52

Love the shoes Bumper, but I'd never be able to walk in those heels.

Need some good luck vibes for tomorrow -viewer for my flat coming for a second look. Hope she'll buy it, sharing the bedroom with 9 month old is getting beyond a joke, not to mention the 2 flights of stairs with baby, pram & shopping.

foxythesnowman · 20/03/2008 16:58
lackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2008 17:10

I hope she puts in an offer tallualh and it surpasses what you are expecting. In fact i hope it goes to a closing date and some giddy person puts in an offer that is ridiculously way over the asking price! (does that still happen in Scotland these days?...when I sold my flat in Eggyburger five years ago it was valued at £59K, but some saddo paid £73.5K for it )

It's all gone quet on the kiddy front; I'm off to investigate.

LittleMissNorty · 20/03/2008 17:16

£16K and I complain about £6K...don't know whether we'd be able to afford another one...much as I'd like to...

LittleMissNorty · 20/03/2008 17:16

fingers crossed Tallulah x
